I never post YouTube links to channels since I don't like looking like I'm trying to kiss the behind of a youtuber. However after seeing this video I had to make an exception. Please watch the video because it explains its point quite well. If you don't read the rest of this I understand, I'm just giving my opinion on the matter.
The amount of times people who complain about tunneling, camping, slugging, t-bagging, gen rushing or body blocking is absurd. It blows my mind how I'm playing against a red rank player and they don't understand how this game works.
Example: As a survivor I have a gen nearly done. The killer has moments ago just hooked a survivor and is coming towards my gen. I don't want to risk pop goes the weasel so I take the hit and finish the gen. I then get downed later and face camped for being toxic. They also message me after the game complaining about abusing an infinite even though they have bamboozle. If the played survivor at high ranks they would see why I did what I did.
Another example: I down a survivor and slug them. There are 2 gens left and 3 survivors left. One of the 3 survivors has a key they brought into the trial. I know that if I hook this survivor I've just downed the hatch will spawn. I decide to slug them, I then find the survivor with the key and down them. After hooking them (they were on death hook) they message me after the game complaining about slugging and how I'm getting reported. This is a rank 3 survivor btw. They are nearly the best possible rank a survivor can be in this game, which should suggest they have mastered this game but they aren't any better than a green rank in all honestly. I explained what why I slugged in that game but they just didn't want to listen.
If a survivor does a gen in my face I understand why they would. If the killer starts slugging because I have a key I understand why. If I hook a survivor and I check the last 3 gens and see they have no progress, I'd hope the survivors would understand why id return to the hook.
I don't think enough people understand why killers or survivors play the way they do. Honeslty I hope more people try to learn and understand both sides properly so they can see why players may play a certain way. This is a post to not try and cause any fight but to try and lessen the toxicity within this community.
hahaha i didn't see your post...I just made a post about jund's video π€¦ββοΈ

per not_Queen
"As it was mentioned in the thread by different people, NOED isn't rewarding poor gameplay from Killers:
- Killer has to play the trial with only 3 perks before the doors are activated.
- The perk can be fully deactivated by survivors
- If the killer has no luck in hooking many survivors before the doors are activated, then the survivors should have been able to cleanse totems without feeling pressure, thus, not giving the NOED edge to the killer. It's on them if it activates.
- If survivors allow the killer to get a 4K with NOED in the end game, I would argue that survivors made mistakes during their end game plays or didn't prepare for the potential NOED activation.
Finally, if you don't want to play NOED, it's your prerogative. In my opinion, building a build that is strong in end game isn't rewarding failure, it is using perks for their intended purposes. The purpose of NOED is to give a killer a burst of strength in end game. Since it's effectively strong, survivors have the power to deactivate it, if they focus secondary objectives.
The killer players choosing to play NOED are banking on a burst of strength at the end for the downside of playing with 3 perks the rest of the game and having a chance to have their perk deactivated. It's a high risk, high reward scenario.
Do bones."

I think facecamping a person or tbagging and flashlight spamming survivors are quite toxic
That is your opinion, I think the opposite. The devs don't seem to share your perspective based on their game mechanics.

Not directed at you but in general...
Just because we "feel" things are toxic doesn't make those things toxic.
Also, If a game is actually affecting your mental health, I would suggest seeking help.

I need to replace Oni's perk...i never really made use of it i the games i played...

Completely screwed. The players are at each others throats at all times, there is no 'fun', the devs dont seem to listen anymore, players are leaving, surv wait times are insane, killer matches are terrible, matching is absolute horse ----. Barely anyone is actually HAVING FUN. THE LITERAL POINT OF A GAME. This game has gone down the toilet, not a doubt in my mind.
The forums are probably made up of 10% of the total population.

Of course not. They are never 100% truth. However, some knowledge is better than none.
somehow, i deleted my response.
In short, bhvr has said they don't make decisions on stats alone. I agree with that. As players, we don't have the perspective that they do.

Which is why they have said they don't make decisions on stats alone. They have a "god's eye" while we have more of a tunnel perspective that may be corrupted by emotions...

That's how studies are done, with samples. The devs should take seriously what is said on forums, as opposed to looking at stats in isolation.
and studies are not always 100% truth...

i lost track of this with "work/life" balance going to absolute poo! Thanks again to everyone for the input π€

personal experience can vary from the majority.
Even the forums are a small representation of of the playerbase.

I kinda left dbd, but because i've been working 10+ hours. The time i have available has been going towards the gym and progressing through dbz kakarot. I haven't even started the new season of clone wars...

It seems that the devs do not view those tactics as dirty.

Play how you want to play as long as it adheres to the allowed game mechanics and rules.

If you select "Play as Killer" then you're an awful killer. Killer mains should select "Play as Survivor" and then somehow glitch the game into letting them play killer.
And when they do, no camping, tunnelling, hitting people, or chasing people outside of memeing.
The survivor rulebook for killers is set in stone π€...submit...

The whole genarator defending phase.
Im not saying that the game is decided at this point, but if you want such powerful effect all of sudden int the endgame, then you should have to work for it in previous phases.
That a part of the trial but is not the complete trial. No point in further discussing this as we have differing views on when the trial is over.

How? You can do absolutely nothing for the whole game, or just hook and camp 1 survivior, and you still have the same chance of getting NOED as killer who 3 hooked 3 people.
This is is why its the favoirite campers perk. No effort, no skill, no planning, but has a powerful effect.
Define what you mean by the whole game.

@NMCKE said:
There's two arguements to be made about NOED, each are valid points:
- It rewards the killer for doing nothing, this needs to change.
- Survivors can deactivate NOED by cleansing totems, leave it be.
I agree that NOED can reward killers for doing poorly, this is the part that I dislike about the perk.
I agree survivors can deactivate NOED by cleansing totems, but you're doing the job of four survivors, it's unrealistic that you can find 5 totems without suffering a huge penalty.
I feel like NOED shouldn't be a Hex Perk, but have more counterplay for solo survivors. π
How does it reward players for playing bad? The trial doesn't end until the survivors exit the trial by gates, hatch, or death.
I have from the start of the trial to the end of the trial. The trial doesn't end when 5 gens are complete.
-
The devs have said camping is a strategy. The devs have spoken.
-
The devs have stated on several occassions that NOED is in a good place. I don't understand the perspective that finishing 5 gens means the match is over and the survivors should all escape.
The match is not over until survivors exit the gates or get sacraficed.
-
You are resonsible for your own actions, not BHVR.

It more than likely has to do with gore/violence and other countries. Games have been banned in other countries for gore/violence. Search banned games + Germany.

I'm off topic but I recently came across a video on YouTube of a tutorial on how to make the Susie mask.
Obviously there are other videos out there of people doing the same but this guy has to have the best finished product I've seen.
Anyways if you're interested here is the link βhttps://youtu.be/_8mrYz25iXo
I stopped 6mins in and went to the end result because I need to fit in one or 2 or three more matches...but whoa...that mask...
