I like you. You can stay. :P
no i cannot...my attention needs to be focused on drunk leegon 👀
-
when ppl are aware they are being observed, their behavior is more inclined to change.
-
The hidden skill ranking system is attempting to measure what the avg player does is my guess...
-
if you reveal tiers, ppl will be more inclined to "try hard"

Do you do it in the nude? If not, you're not hardcore. Unless you live hardcore.
I do it with out flesh, after that....It's go time 👍
-
i'm guessing, the majority of potatoes should fall in the middle of a bell curve in this system...there will be mega potatoes and mega brains and the opposite ends.

You have never seen me play twister...
-
The game is still competitive by nature...two sides playing against eachother. This has never been MLG competitive, just like pick up basketball games at the local rec center have never been pro level. You are still competing and you still try to win.
-
The worst part of the current system is that the entity is not happy with me.

They have not confirmed a date. They stated they are now able to track skill levels on the live servers and will be testing it to make sure their rating system is behaving as expected. When they feel confident that the rating system is working as intended, then they will start testing the new matchmaking on the live servers.

Sooo we're getting a mmr skill rating system that will be hidden from us???
What's the point?
I've seen many Dbd content creators and others here on the forums all saying the exact same thing.
There's no point and this system won't work. What defines a win or a lost... Well we'll never know for sure because it'll be hidden. 👍
The devs are going to test their skill rating system on the live servers. This means they have already determined how they will be measuring skill.

Good question. Understanding the official announcement they only started to test the tracking of the skill rating, while still using the current matchmaking system first and do more tests gradually over time, until the final implemention. Will probably take iquite some time.
The key thing here is that they are going to test their skill tracking system. In order to do this, they would need to have already determined what constitutes skill.
-
One more thing, since we won't know how BHVR is determing skill, we should fall into the skill ratings more naturally. If they tell us how skill is determined, the system can be taken advantage of.
-
They already decided how they are measuring skill. We won't knpw how they are determining skill since it's a hidden ranking system.

Are we going to be getting any information on how skill is determined and be able to see our skill rating?
It's a hidden skill rating system. They won't be telling us how skill is determined.

How on earth are they going to quantify skill though? The emblem system was their first attempt and it’s not great, not necessarily through any fault of Behaviour’s but because it’s really difficult to mathematically calculate how skilled someone is in a game that is so heavily dependent on team work, RNG, and perks/offerings/items/add ons.
Since it is a hidden ranking system, we will not know how they determine player skill...

Forget to charge my headphones. My boomer ears can't play killer without headphones☠☠☠

The most effective way to apply pressure to a game as a killer is to remove 1 survivor from the game as quick as you can.
Survivors need to power the gens, toolboxes help with this objective.
None of these things are toxic as they are part of gameplay.

The wraith also has the option of forcing the EGC and forcing all the survivors out of the game or allowing them to get eaten by the entity, instead he was busy griefing another survivor.....
This has been answered. I will take the dev's post on it which I had posted in the other thread. Someone argued that it is now INVALID due to EGC, however I have not seen a statement made otherwise. Until then I will continue to go with the dev's statements on the matter.
We can all wait on an answer. And hopefully we get one. As long as everyone's civil I don't see why they won't let us know. The dev's are busy, so we have to be patient.
I would appreciate updated clarifications on situations as the one i'm referring to, but I understand they are super busy. I'm trying to be civil as my next infraction will permaban me from the forums lol and I do enjoy the forums as a whole and heck lol I need to stop looking at the forums and go to sleep 😂

The survivors are holding the game hostage; you can still escape (excluding the blocked survivor).
Off topic, if i recall correctly, you are a clown main...was going to ask you about build/strat but Idrunk...sooooo if you are the clown main i'm thinking about...what's you're two top clown outfits 👀, if not lol oops...

Before i go to 😴😴😴😴😴...
I'm not arguing if the wraith's actions are bannable. The wraith in this instance should be banned, if i understand the rules correctly. I'm arguing if the wraith held the match hostage by bhvr's definition, which in this particular instance, I do not think the match was held hostage as the 3 remaining survivors could still progress the match to an end.
-
@KingOfBadRNG said:
We already answered it
It was not answered by definition. Holding the match hostage means the match cannot progress. In this situation, the remaining survivors could progress to the end of the match but chose not to do so.
This action would probably fit in to griefing perhaps, but holding the game hostage??? Not by how they define holding the game hostage.

The killer has the power to kill the survivors which mean if they hold the game as hostage it there fault. This was already answered on a previous thread where the survivors hid for 10 minutes and found not to be taking the game as hostage. So this discussion needs to stop alright it already been answered.
If a mod or dev censors me or my post then i'll leave it at that. Until then, i'm curious for super, detailed clarification. I'm not insulting anyone, or bullying others...i'm asking why... there is nothing ever wrong with asking why.
-
You're assuming...I didn't charge my headphones so I ditched dbd for diablo 3 tonight...
-
@Peanits clarification on holding the game hostage por favor
-
The rules don't make sense as the match can still end. It's on the survivor's control...
-
Holding the game hostage means the match cannot progress. In this case, the match can progress. The 3 survivors can finish the gens and power the gates triggering the end game collapse.
-
The other 3 survivors had the choice to start EGC.

Killer also you just took this post from the other person.
It was closed... i wanted more discussion about it
-
I'm going to say in this scenario...the survivors are holding the game hostage. They can finish gens and trigger the end game collapse. The body blocked survivor will be consumed by EGC.
-
legion is actually made up of 4 edgy teens...that's 4 times the killer 😱...

Legion for sure needs to be nerfed, at this point for no other reason than tradition.
You forgot about 🐷...

There's this pespective that the game ends when all gens are done, which is not true. The match doesn't end until survivors escape/die. NOED's design is for this portion of the match after the gens are done but the survivors haven't left the match or have been sacraficed.
-
I align with tydetyme's perspective on noed.
-
Clown needs a squeaky clown nose sound to annoy survivors in chase.

I think i'm saying what you're saying??? As long as the match can progress to an ending(hatch, exits opened, bleed outs, ect) then that is not holding the game hostage.
I probably worded it wrong.

Holding the game hostage is not what you say it is. The devs stated "AS LONG AS WORK CAN BE DONE AND THE GAME CAN FINISH, ITS NOT A HOSTAGE SITUATION."
2were outside. Able to do work and trigger EGC. It wasnt a hostage situation until 2 of the swf left and didnt finish their work.
I think i'm saying what you're saying??? As long as the match can progress to an ending(hatch, exits opened, bleed outs, ect) then that is not holding the game hostage.
-
Holding the game hostage = stopping the progression of the objectives. If the spirit had blocked all 4 survivors by blocking the stairs and doing no other action, then yes, that is holding the game hostage.
In this case it appears that there were 2 survivors that were still able to progress the game to an ending.
-
I was listening to the stream while working so I was distracted. Thanks, this is awesome as i can read it with full attention when I have a chance 🤘🤘🤘.

Swf should be the baseline, not the overperformer. Hexes work relatively the same for swf and solos, except for noed.
They have stated, the want to bring solos inline with SWF, and will bring up killers as well. If they introduce a totem counter, they will have to revist hexes, and people may not like the end result.

Clown's new cosmetic sure fits with the current state of the game.
I need that outfit, IRL...
-
I've started not worrying about gens and instead have been focusing my perk setups on things that help me find/track survivors so that I can give them hugs...
-
When a killer loads in to a lobby, they have no way of knowing if they are being matched with SWF because of the changes to how lobbies are loaded.
When a killer picks a hex, he has no idea if the survivors are SWF in the lobby. The killer is gambling that people won't do/find hexes.
If a counter is introduced, it's no longer a gamble, the risk vs reward goes out the window, just like when the killer picks hexes and gets matched with SWF.
They would probably need to rework the whole aspect of hexes and totems if a counter was ever introduced.

It's the same reason people use knockout
Knockout is not a hex.

Swf have a built in totem counter
If everyone has a totem counter, then why would killers use hexes? I'd rather have them remove hexes instead of putting in a totem counter, unless they revaml the whole totem/hex system by doing I have no idea.
-
A kill counter would nullify not just NOED, but all hexes. Hexes are supposed be big risk VS reward and a totem counter would ensure a big risk with no reward for running hexes.
-
SWF nerf will never happen...

Killer kill rates are above 50% at red ranks.
Someone mentioned that if the killer was at red rank, the survivors could be non red rank and it would still be considered a red rank game based on the killers rank...I don't remember where I saw it or if it is even true.
