I don't think she is either.
I recently watched Otz bring on the #1 Sadako from EU, who was on a 60 win streak and his playstyle was very different from the standard Sadako. His playstyle focused on teleporting and keeping people from turning in tapes so he could mori them. He wouldn't go for hooks AT ALL. Definitely can see how he pug stomps with it.
This is the same argument that some people use to say that Nurse needs a basekit nerf: the top player in the world got a huge winstreak. By this same logic, Sadako needs a basekit nerf.
The very top players will always be statistical outliers, and it's fallacious to try to argue a killer's relative strength from those data points. The #1 Clown player probably pub-stomps too.

The prestige node cost is a bit silly, but 6.2 reduced the cost of all bloodweb nodes by 33% on average, which adds up to way more than 20k BP saved over 50 levels.

Oh he said that when announcing the sim? (I didn't watch that)
lol I love how he's feigning innocence 😏😂
The wording leading up to the announcement was something like "we've noticed how ... " dramatic pause " ... thirsty our fanbase is."
I about fell out of my chair.
I mean, he's not wrong.

BT bodyblocking is fine. It's an invitation to tunnel, which I will gladly take if the opportunity is shoved obnoxiously in my face.

Yeah that's what I was referencing, his announcement in the anniversary stream.
-
I could see this maybe working if casual mode is like KYF in that every perk, item, add-on, and offering is available to use for free whether or not you've unlocked it. That would be the incentive for killer -- play whatever build you want without having to grind for it.
That might not be a big enough incentive, but it's better than nothing.

Killers need some counterplay. No counterplay at all and why bother to run, might as well just stand under a hook. Looping isn't a guaranteed escape, it's potential counterplay.
Legion is weak because the whole idea behind his power kinda sucks. His kit is slowdown and locating, so anti-loop is the one left in the cold. He has speed, and after he gets his first hit in FF nearby survivors can't hide from him, so scratch marks are hidden to give the first survivor a chance at not being hit in chase. He can't down survivors with his power. Playing efficiently by splitting up guts him. Like I said, his design just kinda sucks.
Legion can down with their power after their last buff (same time as the Haddonfield rework) but it's way too situational. It makes getting 4 FF stabs in feel way better, though.

Wesker has power-breaking bugs that make him weak.
Sadako isn’t bugged, she just has an underwhelming kit.
The post I replied to suggested "huge buff" next patch, not "fixed bugs" next patch. He needs fixes but he probably needs buffs too, and if the one of the weakest killers in the game can't get them...
Though BHVR seems to have weird priorities, so who knows.

Because skill against a new killer that's been out for a day that you're still learning the counter play too makes you bad at the game. DBD toxic community logic. (Probs killer main as well).
Indeed I am a killer main (90/10-ish ratio) but I'm playing survivor a lot since 6.2 for the incentive BP, and I'm having no trouble at all looping Wesker. He's awful in his current state.
-
A killer like this would require fundamentally different gameplay than DBD, because the killer gameplay loop of DBD is find survivor, chase survivor, down survivor, hook survivor. Every single killer in the game works that way. I don't see a way for this kind of idea to be implemented that doesn't turn that around, where the killer is running from the survivors, and that seems like it would require too many changes to core gameplay elements to work.
I do love the idea, though.

It's when the complaints stop that BHVR should really worry.
This right here.
People complain if they love the game and want it to be better.
People just leave without saying anything if they are putting it down for good.

A refund? I get that hating BHVR is the trend here, but these issues will be fixed.
I understand that the hype will be dead by the time he’s made a functioning killer again, but in that case all you need to do is get a friend to hit you really hard on the head.
Even if they fix his bound he's still a pretty crappy killer, the bugs are just the icing on the cake.
-
Same. Wish you could refund DLC.

Couldn't have said it better myself lol, can't believe they'd release another S Tier killer with the state of solo queue and survivor in general at the minute after all the buffs they got. Might as well make the Bloodpoints bonus for survivor permanently +100% then again it already will be ;-;
Wesker is low C-tier at best right now. If you're losing to him consistently either you are bad at the game or your teammates are.
-
Weird, I've played maybe a dozen matches since 6.2 and I haven't been on RPD once yet.
-
Oh no, someone on the internet pulled out the "do better" grenade! BHVR better cower!

100% for a constant 24 hours sounds like something is wrong as it should be fluctuating if it was working properly.
For some it has, and it depends on both MMR and region as well. At high MMR I would expect 100% survivor bonus most of the time.
-
Most people are going to see 100% survivor for awhile after the release of a new chapter because everyone wants to try the new killer. This doesn't mean the incentive system is broken.
-
I've literally dashed at a survivor running in a straight line away from me and gone through them. If they fix his bugs, Wesker could be a lot of fun to play but right now he's just supremely frustrating. I don't think I will be playing him until they fix him.
-
@SgtMittens said:
There's no way Wesker is worse than Plague, Legion, or Nurse. The worst I can say is that it's very redundant right now but that's normal for new release day.
Unless they fix his hitboxes, he is 100% worse than all of those.
-
@Aurelle said:
It hasn't even been 1 day yet. 😐
Yes, but see, this is why so many people complain that it doesn't seem like BHVR plays their own game, because these problems would be obvious to anyone who spent more than 5 minutes playing.
Maybe it's ping-related and BHVR only tests on a LAN where it's easy to get latency <1ms, I dunno. But from where I'm standing, I don't see how anyone could play Wesker and think that his power's hitbox is good as-is.
-
@Peanits said:
Friend, we're gonna need some more constructive feedback than that if you want any chance of it being addressed. Eat less toenails is not enough to go on.
Wesker's dash not going THROUGH survivors without picking them up would be a good start. It's hard to believe this went through a PTB and any internal QA with how unbelievably janky his power's hitboxes are.
You run into stuff all over the map. The slightest bush protrusion stops you dead in your tracks.
But if you dash into a survivor you just glide right through them.
I'm shelving this killer next to Trapper until the bugs are worked out, because he's unplayable right now.
-
His power honestly sucks, I'm surprised anyone is having trouble against him. I will dash directly through a survivor and it won't give me the grab. This happens multiple times per match. He's basically an M1 killer with lines voice acted by Nigel Thornberry.
I would refund the DLC if I could, it's garbage-tier.
-
IIRC you have to slam into something after grabbing them in order to automatically pick them up. Yes, it works on healthy survivors.

The killer and the two survivors, so their perks are shared level 3 to all my killers/survivors.
If you want all perks on every character, sure. Lots of people can get by with p1 and webs to tier up the perks on the characters they will use them on. I'm just clarifying that p3 isn't a requirement to use the perks on other characters, as a lot of people seem to think that's the case.

Isn't the wiretap destroyed if the gen is kicked ?
(I know the killer doesn't see auras of gens affected, but Wiretap is countered by pretty basic killer gameplay.)
Even with the recent buffs to kicking, it's rarely worth it unless you are bringing strong perks that proc on a kick (pop, oppression, etc.). The bigger problem is the killer having no indication that it's even active.
-

I was about to buy the chapter, then I realized I had to p3 three characters.
I've not even started the game. I'm not in a hurry.
The web-autobuy feature that has been requested so many times would be very helpful right now.
What? You don't have to p3 three characters.

Same thing. The killer gets to camp without downsides and the survivor on the hook has 0 opportunity to play the game.
If the game provided a "debuff" (as an example) to a killer camping, that would be a downside.
I would not have any problem with a reasonable debuff, it's just one of those things that's tricky to do without affecting "legitimate" camping, or that couldn't be gamed by either side.
One of the ideas I've had is that if the killer spends X amount of time within a X meters of a hooked survivor AND there is no other survivor within X meters of either the killer or the hooked survivor, the survivor is teleported to the hook furthest from the killer.
This sounds pretty straightforward and good all-around, but it could be gamed by killers proxying instead; it would only really solve facecamping.
It's very hard for automated systems to correctly judge intent.

Why not? Would it be to OP otherwise?
Killers can equip Starstruck with Agitation but us survivors can’t equip Wire Tap with Open Handed.
What’s the point equipping the perk then if it doesn’t work together?!
Starstruck + Agitation has pretty obvious counterplay once survivors are aware of it: don't group up. If you are accidentally grouped up and someone goes down, run away immediately instead of going for flashy saves.
If survivors are running Wiretap + OH, how would you suggest the killer counterplay this? The killer cannot see the aura of affected gens like survivors do. Even if the killer knows the survivors have this combo, they have to guess which gen has it, and there will probably be more than one survivor bringing it.
You're comparing a situational perk combo (only works when a survivor goes down near another and the other survivors aren't smart enough to leave) with basically free map-wide wall hacks (30m is a huge distance for aura reading) that can't be effectively shut down. In the time it takes the killer to go to one gen and kick away the wiretap, a survivor can be putting it somewhere else.
14m is fine; 30m would be insane.
I'd be open to the idea of OH working with Wiretap if the killer gets some kind of information that it's active, like a periodic beeping noise coming from affected gens.

Possibly the system started collecting data at 2PM and won't have the first calculated bonuses for a bit?

someone give this man a job at BHVR - simple solutions "enable 1 click bloodweb"
BANG - done
Hire me and you'll get fast bloodwebs and type-to-filter on perks and offerings in the next patch.
Like how have neither of those been implemented in 6 years? They're the most obvious QoL changes I can think of and are super low-effort.
-
Literally just speeding up the animations and having one-click purchasing would take a lot of the tedium out of it. Having to hold on a node (even with the drag trick) is just annoying for no reason whatsoever.

I'm truly hoping for the custom match bots. I'm still going to play online but it would be so nice to just casually play killer. That's exactly what I did when Friday the 13th released their bots. Play a match or two as Jason against the bots and play live as a counselor.
If they could pull it off, bot matches while in queue would be pog. Imagine being able to practice various killer powers while you wait in queue.
-
Camping and tunneling isn't my default regardless, though I occasionally will if it becomes necessary. There isn't an excuse for camping or tunneling after a DC unless it's really late in the game.
If someone DC's super early I may or may not show leniency. It depends on several factors. Farming isn't really fun by default, so a DC might actually make me want to play super aggressively just to get the match overwith so we can all go next. Sometimes I do feel like some chill farming for a bit, so it just depends.
If the killer had the option to open the gates after a DC, I'd probably just two-hook everyone then open the gates. I don't need to play to win in that scenario (it's not exactly hard to 1v3 at 5 gens on any killer) but I also don't want to stick around doing nothing for the time it takes 5 gens to pop.

19 minutes from now.

I think this thread might be genuinely thankful to have to work towards something again.
Otherwise the phrase "i had unlocked all perks already" doesn't make too much sense since that doesn't change even after the new chapter.
I dunno, "Grinding is the best of all things in this game!" seems like pretty obvious sarcasm to me. I don't know anyone who would say that grinding is their favorite thing about any game.
-
@Mandy I know I replied to you in the other thread about this but wanted to call your attention to the more-detailed reply I wrote above. The perk descriptions really should be altered to clearly indicate what auras Open-Handed extends, because a straight reading of the perk descriptions does not agree with how these two perks actually work. Making this clear in the perk descriptions somehow would help people understand that this isn't a bug.
-
Wait so you're complaining that you're starting with 5 pages of perks instead of only his 3 personal perks?
Did I read that right?
-
I was always a bit mystified why rekindling isn't a scoring event, considering that booning and snuffing are both scoring events. It seems like an oversight, and I'd love to see that addressed.
-
@K139K05 said:
It doesn't, the description says it indirectly (hard to explain, but read the Kindred description and than the Wiretap description, than you might know what I mean). Also Open-Handed doesn't work with Dark Sense (again can be seen by its description).
Both those perk descriptions are worded pretty much identically, so I'm not seeing how "the description says it indirectly."
Kindred says:
Whenever the Killer is within 8/12/16 metres of your Hook, their Aura is revealed to all Survivors.
Whenever the Killer is within 8/12/16 metres of the hooked Survivor, their Aura is revealed to you.
Wiretap says:
When the Killer comes within 14 metres of a trapped Generator, their Aura is revealed to all Survivors.
The wording has the same implication in both cases, and it's not clear just from this text why one would work with Open Handed and not the other.
Open Handed says:
Open-Handed increases all Aura-reading ranges by 8/12/16 metres.
It says "all" right there, which doesn't seem very open to interpretation.
I agree that Open Handed shouldn't work with Wiretap, but one of the two perks should clarify that they don't affect each other.
-
@Mandy said:
Wiretap and Open Handed are not meant to work together.
This makes sense. I wonder, though, if the perk descriptions can explicitly indicate this, because when reading the descriptions there's nothing to indicate that they shouldn't work together, which makes this look like an unintended bug.
-
Now we just need them to fix bubbles hiding auras and the game will be, like, at least 7/10!
-
It's under the "Content" header:
Increased the duration of the Endurance & Haste effects after a Survivor is unhooked to 10 seconds (from 5 seconds).
Increased the strength of the Haste effect after a Survivor is unhooked to 10% (from 7%)
-
It's a moot point now, this Sadako exploit was fixed in 6.2. Though it doesn't look like they addressed Myers.
-
Last night at midnight EST, SpookyLoopz said "in 13 hours" so that would be 1PM EST. Not sure if he's an authoritative source, but it's what he said.
Edit: Nevermind, the update just landed for me.
-
@Roaroftime said:
"you can't nerf nurse" but you can quit the game, and that's apparently what a lot of people are doing as the player count is falling for a second month in a row. they need to fix the game, nurse is broken.
At least on Steam, the player count is not "falling for a second month in a row." It's been incredibly steady for the last 3 months, if you discount the spike during the anniversary event.
-
Endgame Mori requires you to down the last survivor, though. It doesn't change the issue you're talking about.
You are literally faster than survivors, so the hatch game is in your favor. If survivors are getting out by the hatch every match then your hatch-hunting game is weak.
Once you close hatch you can get screwed by bad gate placement, but you can just as easily get the gates practically adjacent to each other so it winds up being a wash.
-
@scawyxd said:
so playing the game is hard for the majority of the player base? edit: impossible? because of forced counterplay in a game that already had counter play but killer players were not willing to learn?
I've read this word soup a dozen times and I have no idea what in the world you're trying to communicate with it.
