Its always HURR DURR SURVIVOR BAD.
When us vs them isnt good at all.
Us vs them isn't good at all. The problem though is that the teabagging Ghostface post was made by someone who has vigorously defended teabagging and annoying the Killer so that gives it less weight than a post from someone who hasn't done that.
Also, saying but Killers hit on hook! is whataboutism. It's toxic but is also BMing. People mention survivors more because Killer BM is not as common as survivor BM and, if you play both sides, you'll learn that survivors are overall more toxic even including the 4 to 1 ratio.
I'd also add that Killers hitting on hook can be seen as less offensive by some people but not by all since teabagging is literally a virtual simulation of a sexual act performed on an unwilling person (although some don't realize that) and flashlight clicking can set off headaches. Pointing and saying come get me with a gesture isn't complained about even a small fraction as much, because while it can be used to taunt, it doesn't have the same implications as the other two actions.

I very rarely t-bag unless the killer is camping or hard tunneling, but I'm going to do it to literally everyone I play against tomorrow 🤭
hope to see you in the fog brother.
No problem, you can gaslight the Killers you come across if they're offended by it too.
Also, I can't believe some people get offended by comments people make on a forum. I think their egos are so big that something so small as words on a forum sends them off the deep end.

I'll add some translations of arguments for teabagging so we can read the actual arguments.
'It's just crouching': I like to gaslight
'It's just smacktalk': This is either 'I'm 14 or younger or have the mentality of someone 14 or younger' or 'I have no empathy'; possibly both
'Maybe video games aren't for you': I like bullying but can only do it online since there are real life consequences to doing it in real life so I want to victim blame instead of owning up to my actions
'It's not toxic': I like telling other people to feel what makes my life more convenient instead of acknowledging people react differently
'It's been around forever': 'Boys will be boys' variation or a variation of 'It's just locker talk' that has been used to try to excuse bad behaviour
It's fun: Either 'I'm 14, etc' as above and/or 'I enjoy trying to upset other people because my life is miserable so my main source of enjoyment is trying to make other people feel as bad as me.' This could also be 'Other people's feelings are secondary to me'
There is the rare 'This is out of character for me but I was tilted and/or had a bad day and I'm trying to retroactively defend my decision instead of admitting I'm human and just made a bad choice just like everyone sometimes does' but normally it's one of the above

My queues are less than two minutes but, as before, it depends on the time of day. Before 6 PM PST up to two minutes; after 6 PM PST practically instant. I haven't seen a long queue for Killer ever since right before SBMM was introduced.

Do you mind elaborating on the ways to counterplay her then? No joke would honestly be a big help.
Move erratically.
Use LOS blockers
Mind game and double back a lot.
Figure out when she's going to blink by listening to her sound effects.
If she's chasing you and not blinking run in a straight line. You're faster.
Watch for the red light that shows where she's blinking to in general.
I'm not saying this will work against a high MMR Nurse as I'm not a high MMR solo survivor but, on my opinion, the only reason why most people say Nurse is OP is because they haven't played Nurse to the point they can semi reliably land blink attacks.
Nurse has a very unique power but there a lot of things that can mess Nurse up. Try to play her, note what messes you up, and then try that on the Nurses you face. She's a very strong Killer once you've practiced a lot but, while learning her, you'll quickly learn why her kill rate is so low
-
If OTR is changed to deactivate upon being fully healed, or being hit while Endurance is active automatically changes the Endurance status into Deep Wounds (whether the survivor is healthy or not) I don't see OTR to third protection hit into Mettle of Man to DH being more than a very niche situation with a lot that can go wrong.
That's assuming one of the two changes I mentioned above; if you can be fully healed and take two protection hits before dropping Mettle becomes exponentially, not linearly, easier to activate.
-
I've been getting occasional survivors playing map offerings when I play Killer. When I play Survivor, roughly 1 in 6 Killers play Moris but so far no map offerings.
Sorry I should also add all my Killer games have been really chill but that's because I haven't even been bothering to kill survivors over the last couple of days just in case they missed out and are grinding masks now. Just two hook everyone and straight to waiting by the exit gates.
-
You're at low to low intermediate MMR if that's happening frequently. Any Killer that doesn't know when to drop chase is not high MMR. I'm not saying you should be at that MMR or what MMR you should be at since I don't know you. However, if Scott Jund still has his video up about accidentally bullying low MMR Killers it's a good watch.
Since MMR just measures kills/escapes and not what you do for your team an altruistic survivor who is willing to sacrifice themselves for the team can end up at low MMR even though they would have been purple or red ranks under the Emblem system.
I've had games myself where me and another survivor have gotten three gens done by ourselves (since the other two were dead) and escaped. Realistically, that killer should have never been put against us as two survivors dead at 3 gens left should be an auto win for the Killer. It's not common but it has and does happen. It's one of the issues with such a binary MMR rating and I'm guessing it's also why my games tend to be extreme: either 0 to 3 hooks and a 4E or a 4K with gens still up.
TLDR: Improve your MMR if you want to find Killers that will drop chase if needed
-
I'll take 'What's an average match for an M1 Killer? for 100 Alex'
-
Also, if you have Detective's Hunch the objects are added to the green map essentially turning it into a Rainbow Map where you just have to repair a gen first to get the info
-
I hope the buffs come soon. The only downside is that if she's buffed properly I won't be able to change my username to 'TheBetterOnryo' when I play Dredge. Oh well, life is full of tradeoffs.
-
If someone is at a strong tile or looping extremely well you could, well, always drop chase and go for another target while waiting until the good looper is in a dead zone to catch them.
Call me crazy but I don't really see the point of giving survivors time to finish all the gens and bug out because I decided for some reason that I need to catch a good looper at the strongest tile imaginable.

-
Freddy, Clown, and Trapper say hi.
-
The entire point of OTR and the BT basekit change is to make the Killer target the unhooker. The devs even said so. That's good for the game. The only item I would add is that a Conspicuous Action includes being fully healed or have the first hit on a survivor with Endurance drop a healthy survivor to injured.
-
No, I'm not high enough MMR as solo survivor to get the god nurses and I've played Nurse enough to know how high her skill floor really is. My recommendation would be to play Nurse on the side until you can fairly accurately land blink attacks on average survivors. After that, you'll find most Nurses at mid MMR or less pretty easy to counter. It's not that Nurse can't be countered; it's just that her counters are different than most Killers.
-
I agree. Pain Resonance is still strong. The 15% flat regression will be as much or better than PoP unless the gen is over three quarters repaired with the added bonus of not having to walk (but the disadvantage of being locational).
Killers can still know where survivors are by using BBQ for its actual aura reading or any of Surveillance, Call of Brine, Floods of Rage, Discordance, etc. It's not like we don't have options.
DMS will still have some synergy as high mobility Killers can still easily take survivors off of gens as well as the Artist and, to a lesser extent, Impossible Skill Check Doctor.
Low mobility Killers can also synergize DMS unless they're hellbent on protecting the world's loneliest gen off in a corner of the map instead of working on defending an actually defensible set of generators; it's just not instaneous anymore.
Overall, it's a pretty strong perk still.

"Nobody teabags bots" nobody talks to bots either. The point of multiplayer games is to see human reactions - this argument makes no sense really.
And I think you're reading into it a bit much. Many gamers don't even know what the gesture means, they just see it as a "nyah nyah - I won" gesture.
It's giving someone a virtual middle finger. That's why the bot argument is valid; the purpose of the gesture is to bother people. Arguing its like a 'nyah nyah' is a superfluous argument unless your position is that giving someone the middle finger is like saying nyah nyah instead of the verbal f u.
With how widely known it is as a disrespectful gesture there is almost nobody who doesn't know it as such. Would you do something that disrespectful to someone in real life? Probably not; there would be societal consequences for doing so and the only reason such things are so ubitiquous in video games is that the societal consequences are avoided. That doesn't diminish in any way the offensiveness of the gesture.
-
A game that isn't meant to be an esport should never be balanced solely around one skill level. Doing so means that the game experience will be horrible for at least one side of the people outside of that skill level.

Back when it was a 3 seconds stun people slugged more. To get around it. That "worthless" 3 second stun was being played around. Dont believe me look at zubat lel old videos. A 3 second stun is very good.
Remeber you also have the ms haste increase + enduramce status to reach a non dead zone. But hey take it off next patch. See what happens I gurrantee you everyone will throw it back on the first game there tunneled. I feel like im seeing the old bbq complaints all over again. Bbq range was nerfed by 8 to 10 meters. The reaction oh this perk is worthless ah it does nothing. Reality everyone comtinued using it because 100% bloodpoints.
Ds might give you less time but its still the only perk that give you another chance vs killer who will tunnel you. Do you really want to be schmuck without ds?
There's Off the Record as well which does not deactivate DS. If someone is really concerned about tunneling I think a 5 second haste boost, a 45 second Endurance effect, a post hit speed boost if hit during that time followed by a stun and killer grasp escape after for up to 60 seconds after the initial unhook sounds pretty effective against tunneling.

"I'm all for inclusivity but". ok. So you are for inclusivity unless it is a perk that you dont like, because a perk that bothers you is more important than HOH people being able to enjoy the game.
I 100% would agree with the visual heartbeat from mobile being an option for people. For Spine Chill, it will be in the PTB and accessibility concerns can also be mentioned there. Personally, I think the only changes Spine Chill needed was that it didn't light up if the Killer was Undetectable and removing the vault speed (which the devs did do).
I also wrote this post because I remember in another post someone suggested VHS to you. As a forewarning, VHS has tracking entirely based on sound, no aura reading outside of a mechanic called the Rift that's hard for Teens to get and nothing similar to Spine Chill. DbD, in my opinion, is friendlier to the hearing impaired. While, if you do want to try the game you definitely should as it can be fun and is a different playstyle than DbD, I thought I should mention it in the hopes that knowing this going in would save you frustration if you do try.

What survivor perk would you run that they "buffed"?
Are you seriously arguing that Ruin, Pop and Corrupt didn't just receive significant nerfs?

On the bright side, they would have genrushed you anyway outside the event so you now have over 5 times as much BP over the amount you would have gotten otherwise.

You are not supposed to wiggle out. Wiggling should only prevent the Killer from choosing any hook they like. If wiggling would not exist, you would probably end up in the Basement or on any Scourge Hook all the time.
However, I agree that Hooks are too close. Often enough Hooks are close enough that the Killer can camp (or, like Killers like to say: "patrol") both Hooks. And this should not be the case, the Killer already has a lot of pressure with two people on the Hook, no reason to make it easy to camp (sorry: "patrol") both Hooks.
That's countered pretty easily though. If you're going to go down run in a direction away from the Killer preferably into an area as remote as possible. If the Killer has two people downed, unhook the first as soon as you see the Killer pick up the second. The aura reading makes that pretty easy.
If the Killer gets two people on hooks close to each other it's either the Killer just outplayed the survivors or the survivors outplayed themselves by either being too cocky, misreading their situation or the survivors not downed not taking advantage of the safe unhook time window.

It is all very helpful. I haven't played as Dredge yet but I've gone into KYF to see how the mechanics of him work. Mostly I was testing what the difference locking lockers made in the time he comes out of lockers. From one I can tell its the difference between 1 sec or 3. I tested the range on Killer instinct when teleporting. I found that Distortion was really powerful against him due to many of the early Dredges I faced who used aura reading perks and add ons.
What is your favorite build on him? I'm looking to try him out.
I'm still experimenting but I'll probably end up with Call of Brine, Discordance, Darkness Revealed and probably Sloppy Butcher.
Discordance I find to be fantastic on Dredge since the time to get to the gen is so much lower than any other killer. I can actually do something with that information now instead of having the gen pop while I'm on the way.
Darkness Revealed also pairs so well with the teleports and Call of Brine gives me info as well as being gen regression.
Sloppy will probably beat out BBQ and Floods of Rage since, unlike Killers like the Artist, the Dredge can't do anything more than a regular killer if survivors aren't by lockers and I already have two pure info perks. Besides, my playstyle has a lot of gen defence and knowing a survivor is a 20 second walk away doesn't do much except give more gen time for survivors. When I run Tilling Blade (which gives Sloppy when a survivor is injured from healthy during Nightfall) I can experiment. Tilling is a purple though so I won't have it for most of my matches.
Also, there's an add-on I like that significantly increases the speed at which having survivors injured contributes to Nightfall. Having as much Nightfall uptime as possible is extremely helpful since the teleport is practically instantaneous and stealth is nearly impossible in Nightfall. To help maximize my time in Nightfall I keep survivors injured as much as possible and, unless there's a need and it's the right call to walk, I teleport for my patrols.
Also, teleporting to a locker to cut a survivor off or change the angle of approach is really good for mind games since the Dredge is Undetectable during Nightfall as well. If I'm not in Nightfall it's not as good as in Nightfall for mind games but that teleport just helped me get to Nightfall sooner.

I've been playing the game for years, but this was useful info even for me. Survivors seriously underestimate gen placement until they three gen. That is why perks like visionary and rookie spirit see little use. I usually prioritize what I call unsafe gens at the start of the match. Deadzone gens, gens with LOS blockers where I could get pulled off, or just highly patrolled areas but I didn't think about leaving gens far away from lockers until last against Dredge. Good tips.
Thanks, I find a lot of people aren't familiar with the Dredge and the Dredge is pretty good. There's as good map mobility as Blight and Nurse ( but both Blight and Nurse are better in chase) and isn't as strong as the Artist (who can damage at distance and is very hard to loop) but I'd definitely say somewhere around top B to medium A.
Two other items I forgot that you may find useful is that while the Dredge can't see anything but gens or lockers while teleporting the Dredge can still hear everything. So, if convenient, I set up my path so that it crosses a gen if I'm not going to that gen. That's also why gen distancing from lockers is so important in later parts of the game. If the gen is by a locker and I'm not prioritizing something else I'm there in a couple of seconds. If the gen is far away from a locker now it takes time to get there. In the early game you also have more resources so that helps to do gens close by lockers at the beginning.
As well, with Flashbang, Built To Last, Inner Healing or just being a locker gnome that's incredibly risky especially out of Nightfall. The Dredge can see lockers opening while teleporting so, while I don't know which survivor it is, I know a survivor is in a locker and an easy grab and hook. Lockers are death coffins against a Dredge.
The reason why I say it's more dangerous out of Nightfall is that the teleport takes a lot longer so I spend more time seeing locker activity. In Nightfall, I'll use up all my tokens in a few seconds and now I'm probably chasing someone.
I don't think Dredge is really strong but requires situational awareness and strategy to overcome. I've beaten SWFs on my Artist that would have wrecked me if I had played Dredge but the Dredge is super fun. I think I've escaped from about 80% of the Dredges I've played in solo (generally I'm about a 55% escape rate) because the Dredge is new and his potential isn't always used. As well, I understand the mechanics pretty well so that helps to counter.
Also too, I've been able to kill most groups I've faced as Dredge but part of that is also because when I see 3 or 4 survivors play flans during this event I two hook and let everyone go (unless they BM or let a teammate one hook) so my MMR might be lower than normal.
Since the Dredge is new, I've also seen survivors try to hide behind a small tree or in a bush, etc in Nightfall. It's like you're glowing so bright I practically need sunglasses to look at you; do you really think I'm not going to see any portion of your survivor that isn't totally obscured? If the Dredge has line of sight in Nightfall and the player isn't visually impaired you've just been spotted. A lot of players don't seem to know that.
Anyway, I hope that was helpful as well.
-
One thing that I forgot to mention since I was thinking specifically of the Game is that, in the start of the trial you want to prioritize the gens that are the closest to lockers. I find a lot of survivors don't plan their gen order but the more spacing between gens as the game goes on, the better.
Why? Because the early game gens are the most likely to get done and the more spacing between the gens in the late game the longer it takes the killer to patrol.
With the Dredge, there's amazing map mobility as long as there are lockers. Quite commonly, survivors leave me with three gens at end game right by lockers. I've gone from 4 hooks with 0K to 4K and 12 hooks and I can't think of a game where my 3 gen was broken.
In Nightfall, it takes seconds to check each gen. The Dredge has 3 tokens to teleport and can see and hear the immediate vincinity. So, check a gen, teleport, etc. In less than 10 seconds I've checked all 3 gens for survivors in Nightfall and a few seconds later I repeat.
Out of Nightfall, it takes longer but less than 25 seconds for all 3 and each teleport advances Nightfall.
I run Call of Brine and Discordance so as soon as 2 survivors touch a gen I know. As soon as 1 survivor has a good skill check I know. As well, with Darkness Revealed I see any survivors by gens as long as there's a locker nearby.
So I pop out, hit the survivors, kick the gens and by playing a patient game the survivors will try to do the gens injured. If not, they lose so much progress with Call of Brine they'll never finish a gen.
If the gen is far away from a locker, I have to walk there and I won't see survivors hiding by lockers like I will with gens by lockers. Now it takes time to get hits and down survivors since I have to first get there from the nearest locker and then down a survivor. It becomes more like a regular 3 gen against most killers and the Dredge is loopable.
So, if you have a gen away from lockers at end game you now have time to finish it. If all the gens are by lockers at end game hope for a mistake by the Dredge because the Dredge now controls the map.
For solo queue, I find doing the come with me emoji, Situational Awareness and Blast Mine (for the yellow aura) helps me herd my teammates away from doing the closest gen everytime.
As well, with Nightfall, a lot of survivors don't realize how bright they are in Nightfall. If the Dredge has line of sight they've seen you because you're glowing like the sun. If the Dredge gets los in Nightfall, don't try to hide. Run.
With the Game most of the gens are by lockers. If at all possible, do not do a gen that is not by a locker until late game. Stick to a rougher early game so you have a chance in endgame.
-
Isn't there a black mist and sound when the Dredge teleports to a locker? Keep your camera angle pointed at the lockers unless you're in his terror radius and don't know where he is ( in that case, swivel the camera and keep checking possible ingresses)
Edit: Forgot to mention yes, there is a cooldown, but it's extremely short during Nightfall but if the Dredge teleports in out of Nightfall you at least have a few seconds before it can be done again).
-
Sometimes I get that. To be honest, it's at least 5 times more common to come from a survivor I killed than one that escaped. I just continue saying gg to the other survivors and move on. I mean, what should I say? I won and they lost so if I'm bad then how bad are they for losing to me?
Much less frequently, I get it from winning survivors. I find it helpful to mention I don't know why they're so miserable and angry but I hope they find something in their life they can take pride in other than a video game. I tell them I'm rooting for them and move on.

Other than that, yeah, I'm going for hatch or trying exit gate everytime. The only other real use for it I see is Mettle of Man, Object Of Obsession and Sole Survivor is you can continually see the Killer's aura and run away from them (MoM to activate Killer reading your aura, OoO to activate you reading the Killer's aura in response and Sole Survivor to shut off aura reading when the Killer gets close).

Plague is going to be a pain because of Thana.
Blight is going to be a pain because you get even less distance when you're hit. When getting distance is already nearly impossible against Blight and Nurse.
But yeah Sprint Burst and Overcome are definitely gonna be getting used a lot more.
I do agree that Plague will be a pain because of Thana but Plague and Legion are already pains with Thana. Thana and Dying Light combined on either is even worse and, if they do Plaything and Pentimento for a currently 50% slowdown, is sleepy time. It's up to the person's tolerance but I view it kind of like Impossible Skill Check Doctor; it's there to annoy the survivors. I just feel the 2.5% difference on Thana is less annoying than either of those combos but that's an issue that the 2.5% increase only marginally makes worse and not from the update per se.
I agree completely that it's nearly impossible to get distance on a Blight or Nurse. My opinion is that the two tenths of a second won't make that big of a difference overall; I'll just get hit two tenths of a second faster. Now, with a BT unhook or a Off the Record unhook, I'll at least get more time than two tenths of a second to do something (15 second with BT 3 as opposed to 12 seconds currently).
I defintely agree Sprint Burst and Overcome are going to get used tons more. I like that; it's not cheesy and uncounterable like current DH and I find Killers having a hit and run playstyle, which should be more incentivized now, more enjoyable to play against (as opposed to now where it's chase until down because the Killer is assuming DH and doesn't want to give even more opportunities for it to be used).

Showing the killer aura would only be bad for facecampers, so I really don't get why they shouldnt show the aura too.
Run Kindred and Open Handed and you'll see how useful 32 metre aura reading is. Sure, it can't compete against the current meta perks but the point of the patch is to break up the meta.

Already got ppl complaining about Off the Record being OP when it's literally "Borrowed Time but when ur teammate doesn't have Borrowed Time." As far as I can tell, that's the only decent solo queue perk after the update since DS got butchered. (Less stun? Really BHVR?)
Not to mention this update is a major buff to Blight, Nurse, Legions, and Plagues. 4 of the worst killers in solo queue imo. (The slower gen speeds + Thana buffs are gonna be actual hell on earth against Legions and Plagues. And the base killer updates are gonna be hell against Plague and Blight. You're telling me I'm gonna get LESS distance when I get hit by a them? Yay! And of course those are 2 killers that already ate through DS before. So now it's gonna be even easier for them)
The base BT doesn't actually address anything. It's basically BHVR saying "Hey, we know you guys are getting tunneled a lot so here's how we're gonna fix it...by not actually fixing it at all good luck!" 5 seconds is actually nothing.
Idk as a solo survivor, I am not looking forward to playing DBD after this mid-chapter. But if they were trying to convince ppl to switch to killer ig they succeeded. Can't wait to stomp solos ig.
How do you think Plague and Blight are going to be even worse?
I disagree with your take on the gen speeds and Thano simply because a gen with the new Thana will take 110.25 seconds as opposed to the 96 seconds (assuming full Thana stacks) it too before. I can take roughly 5.5 seconds off of the repair speed as well with the new options for 5% repair speed increase. Also, Pop and Ruin will not be getting anywhere as much regression and, without the scream, Pain Resonance won't activate DMS.
In my opinion, that's fine. Gens were popping too quickly before.
I also disagree that the new 5 second BT is nothing. It's enough time to put some distance between you and the Killer
If people are really concerned about tunneling still, stack Off the Record and DS. That provides a 5 second haste minimum, 45 seconds of Endurance, a post hit speed boost after being hit, and a 3 second DS stun for up to one minute. That's a lot. The only reason not to do it is you don't want to or aren't concerned about tunneling.
I don't think DS needed a change but I think it'll be less necessary now and, with the new combo, it's not necessary to let unhooked people body block the Killer for up to 45 seconds and then still harass the Killer so the Killer can eat a 5 second stun. That's not fun for the Killer. Maybe with a 3 second stun it'll happen less or maybe the change to DS was not necessary.
The less distance part isn't that big of a deal since it's literally two tenths of a second. If you want distance, equip Overcome.
Tunneling and camping are a lot less viable, gen regression perks have been nerfed, and now there are options for survivors to take instead of the same small group of perks. That sounds good to me.
Do I want sick heal speeds? Botany, Desperate and possibly CoH or Autodidact. Have a tunneling killer throw the game if they target me? Off the Record, DS and Overcome. Be the most annoying person ever to a slugger especially if they have a hex? Tenacity, Unbreakable and Soul Guard. Help the unhooked? BT, Babysitter and We'll Make It. I see options with room left over for an exhaustion perk.
Of course, until we see how it plays out practically, we won't know but I don't see a big problem at all.

Haven't read the post in full yet, but want to note the haste is 7%, which puts you at 4.28 m/s, not 4.5. Or, in other words, you're 107% vs 110 or 115.
Cool, thanks for the correction.

The update isn't good overall is a fact
Feel free to provide arguments and logical statements.

I don't like the changes because I mostly play solo q. And 90% of solo q players also dont like the changes.
I think it's fairer to say a lot of DH users and solos who don't want to consider new options dislike the changes.
For DH, as with NOED, if you need DH instead of Lithe as an example or NOED instead of Devour Hope to be at your MMR you are only at that MMR since your perks are carrying you.
If it's just you don't like change that's understandable but that doesn't mean the update isn't good overall.

Equipping Off The Record with DS is dumb at best.
So this is more of a you personally don't like the changes instead of how the changes will affect solos as a whole?
On another note, my teammates hook trade. Possibly, your MMR and region doesn't but mine does. Hook trading just got incentived though. Survivors screwing up if they don't doesn't mean they should get rewarded either.
