Coulrophobia only affects healing skill checks. No?
Either they left out the word healing in their update by mistake, or they left out the insane buff if it does affect repair skill checks.
I understood it was still healing skill check as well.

I don't have to try the update out to know that solo queue will be a pain.
My biggest current solo queue problem: gens go extremely slow while survivors go down extremely fast.
Why should I try and see whether if we make gens even slower and downing survivors even faster my games are getting better?
To make this clear: this is my experience in my MMR and my region and the time I'm playing. I don't claim it's like this for everyone. But I can't see what I could do to get a better experience.
"End of my time with DbD" would sound a bit dramatic. Maybe at some point new people take over in the design group and something changes that'll make the game playable again. Let's call it an extensive break I'll take from the game. I'll probably be playing killer when I feel like playing, though I don't like their new balance philosophy that the killer should feel unstoppable and survivors should fear him. I don't want to fear another player in an online game, nor do I want to get feared when I play killer. I want a fun action game with a horror theme, that's why I bought the game.
I'm with you for the last part. It's a PVP game with a horror touch. We shouldn't feared to be against other players. It should be fun. Period.

Can't wait for all the MYC+Monstrous Shrine nurses to wait 32m away with range addons until an unhook happens. Or the hags at 24m. Or the blights. Or the dredges. Or the bubbas. Or the artists.
Gonna be loads of fun being "not camped". 😔
Solo Q will be marvelous. I can't wait for me to be dead after my first hook.

Do you even play the game? I have big doubts.
-
Yeah. Frankly, who cares for a special icon no one will look at, not even ourselves?
I stopped to P3 prior to the change. I already have 20ish P3, I'm done. I'm getting Flan and waiting for the new system to kick in before I hit the prestige button now.
A cosmetic? Yes, OK, I'll keep prestiging. An icon? Gimme BP instead at this point, it'll be more usefull...

Tell that to the Low MMR killers; they're the ones tunneling and facecamping the most.
Fun enough, but the more I escape, the more I'll meet facecamp/tunnel, and the more I die, the more I have god Nurse and Blight who don't facecamp/tunnel but have so many hours that I didn't even know people played that much.
I don't think they're lowering their MMR on purpose. The MMR is kind of weird most of the time for me.
-
Facecamping with five flans. Same, I've seen the same. I've also seen people bringing a flan and DC immediately after being downed, and even waiting the end game to insult the Killer...
I mean, you can't control what others do. It's their flan, they can waste them if they want. I just don't like to waste mine while I was thinking of trying to get as much BP as possible.
-
I think the issue is matchmaking. I have 2k hours and, sometimes, I'm paired with people who have under 50 hours. I can clearly see we don't have the same experience.
It's fine to be a new player. I was one two years ago. But I'm expecting people with similar experience than me to be with and against me.
But let's see how it works during the PTB.
-
You can say "thanks" for solo Q people who unhook their teammates without BT while being chased by the Killer, then avoided the hit for the unhooked one to go down right after.
That's probably the reason BT went basekit.
But Killers got basekit as well. Kicking faster? Recovering faster from hits? That's cool.

I mean, if you still want to run Spine Chill after this update hits, whatever the nerf is, then they'll have failed. The point is to get people to stop running it.
Also, while it being strong isn't the reason it gets nerfed, it is very strong, so some kind of nerf was still called for.
Why? Why the point was to stop people to run it? I don't think we needed another useless perk.
Now, we will see the same few perks everytime, but there will just be different ones.
I agree with the fact Spine Chill needed something. It was annoying for stealth Killers. But now, there is no reason to use it.
As I said, most people wanted diversity. Here, it doesn't create diversity. It just encourages to change the meta instead of having more perks to play with.
-
The speed wasn't useless with only Spine Chill equipped. It really wasn't.
But I do agree it should just not working against a Killer who has the Undetectable status effect.
Because if changing the meta only meant to nerf to the ground the current meta to replace it with something else... People wanted more variety, not destroying perks so we have more useless ones to never touch.
-
What about we all wait the PTB to see how it really works?

@Ayamir said:
If we make an aura reading perk basekit then what's the point of the current info perks we have ?
Aftercare exists for a reason and it is a great perk in SoloQ if you're a altruistic survivor and always go for the unhooks and heal your teammates it can be quite effective the only downside is that you lose the effects when getting hooked which is okay imo.
If you make Kindred aura reading basekit then all the info perks survivors have are useless.
and to not mention that having Kindred basekit can be quite strong at Mid-High MMR where even some solos players can be coordinated and will go trades while others stay on gens.(even without seeing the Killer's aura Kindred is a powerful perk not to be underestimated.)
Here is something I would suggest make the loading screen like DBD Mobile where you can see what perks are your teammates running this is a fair change and will help SoloQ alot it will encourage interactive/coordinated plays.
Imagine I am playing Cheryl with Soul Guard the killer is slugging me on the ground with the gates opened he's respecting my DS and will wait 1 whole minute for it,now since my teammates know which perks I am running Zarina comes in with For the People making a huge clutch play, the killer hits me and did not respect SG we both get out beceause of this nice coordinated play.
By making Kindred basekit info perks like Bond and Aftercare will be useless,Kinship/Camaraderie will be useful if Survivors know which perks you're running.
Well, but it means your teammates where looking at their screen while loading (some people do something else while waiting to enter the game), and remember who has which perks.

Because with the modification , botany doesn't affect the medkit, we talk about that, the modification of self care
The developper's update says: "Botany Knowledge now increases healing speed by 30/40/50%, up from 11/22/33%", with no mention to med-kit.
I guess we will have to wait Tuesday to see if the med-kit efficiency has been removed.

I had rubberbanding and I don't stream. I also have a very good Internet.

Spine Chill and Irol Will got nerfed and they were stealth perks.
Looping got nerfed because killers basekit chase got buffed (faster recovery from hits, bloodlust, breaking pallets faster).
You say sitting at the gen is boring, so you want to remove skill checks to make it even more boring and make the time even longer? Big brain moment
It's not like Skill checks were entertaining.

If the kill rates will increase with this crazy af buff for survivors,
I'll lose any hope there is for survivors, when it comes to utilizing perks.
OTR alone is so stupidly powerful, and yet you still can get so many additional endurances. Endurance status cannot be bypassed even by 1-shot killers.
Survivors will face nothing but Nurses or Blights, but I think even Blights won't be thrilled to face the incoming "hit me million times to finally down me" meta.
And for exchange killers got a crap ton of kicking buffs, when no sane killer will kick a gen and lose precious time doing so. Regression from kicks won't matter, if I can take a killer for an infinite chase with all the power I got, and just let my teammates do their job. 10s more to do a gen is nothing, when prove thyself wasn't changed, and Overzealous (that was perfectly fine it is now, i run it, it's great) got buffed too.
Yes, I will abuse the incoming endurance meta, I would be stupid if I wasn't. But I hope my future solo Q teammates will use their last braincells to abuse it too. Not to rub your victory to the killer's face. But to show bhvr how STUPID of an idea is to give survivors so many invincibilities.
"Ah yes, let's rework the additional health state meta perk, by making it an additional health state perk, and making other perks an additional health state perks"
OTR should deactivate after getting fully healed. We don't need the Endurance if healed.
And if people wanna stay injured and do nothing for 80 seconds, that's their own choice of wasting time.
I like the idea of OTR. I wanted something like that for a long time because I was tired of that Survivor being chased who suddenly decided to go unhook w/o BT. Who is getting down? Not them, they DH onto me so I get the hit and down right after being unhooked. Then they called the Killer a tunneler...
But keeping Endurance after I'm healed... I mean, if I had time to get healed, I'm probably in a safe position and don't need a third health state.

They are anti-camp against any killer without a chainsaw.
They're not anti-camp. It doesn't prevent a Killer to camp me if they want to. It doesn't force my teammates to save me if a Killer is camping me.
But if the Killer is tunneling me, it helps.

No, it doesn't effect it.
SC is allready far below CoH, but I quess lets nerf it so CoH is even more popular again.
What's fun, it's that the devs said they like the fact Survivors preemptively cleanse totem because of NOED.
If we cleanse, outside of the fact it's a big waste of time if the Killer doesn't have NOED, it means no space for Boons.
-
@Wampirita said:

But let's wait till the release, when it'll be nerfed to the ground instead of just being balanced.

IMO one of the Perks which got a Nerf just to remove them from the Meta. Because the general Meta for Killers will still be Slowdown-Perks, but instead of Ruin and/or PGTW they will use different Perks. So not really an improvement.
When it comes to Ruin, I think the nerf of disabling it once one Survivor is dead is a fair Nerf. This should be a very rare case anyway and if you get a Survivor out of the game before your Ruin-Totem is found, you will probably be in a very, very good position that you dont need it anyway.
Nerfing the Regression-Speed was too much. I would assume that I hate Slowdown-Perks like no other player, but making a Perk pointless to use just so that other Slowdown-Perks will be run is the wrong way.
And personally, once Undying was nerfed, I was fine with Ruin. It is annoying (more than the previous version of it), but there was not really anything wrong with it, unless it is in such a hidden spot that you will really not find it. But this could have been solved with disabling it once a Survivor is dead.
I agree with that: they nerfed the meta, so we will have a new meta and people will complain that the new buffed perks are now used by everyone everytime.
I don't see it as an improvement neither. We won't see more variety, just other perks instead but on the same amount. Overcharge gonna be the new meta, for instance. Everyone and their gaming chair are gonna use it.
-
I like the fact Haddie has scars. I wanted to use her because, I don't know, she's like fighting the Killer itself. She looks like a warrior.
But her cosmectics are so bad... All of them. Having her lips being pink or lighter pink don't change anything.
-
I don't truly understand the Iron Will nerf. It was more about the fact the perk removed the breathing as well, which was a bug... Right?
I mean, I'm glad to see the meta being changed, but if it means having the meta perks useless to replace them by other perks that everyone will use... Well. It's just changing the meta rather than bringing more variety.
I was so sure Iron Will was gonna be useless that I stopped to use it a couple of weeks ago to get used of not having it. I guess it was a good decision for me.
If every character has the same range of sound as you said, it'd be easier to pick different Survivors.
-
@ShinobuSK said:

Only if you drop them to lock the Killer between the two. Only Killers who can TP won't have to break them to free them, but I think only Nurse is not concerned—Onryō and Dredge still need to find the right TV/locker to TP out of the place.

I am sure we're going to have some initial outcry on some changes, not everyone embraces change after all. But I do think that it's overall great for the health of the game, and much much needed.
No matter what, we will always have happy people and unhappy ones. But I do hope the happy ines will be the majority.
I'm super excited to learn more.

I hate the 'escape = MMR' because of that. There are matches I died while I ran the Killer the whole time and the others decided to leave me without even trying to help me. There are matches I clearly have done poorly but escaped by chance where I think I should have my MMR lowered (but if I have a chance to escape, I do).
I mean, before MMR, people were more likely gonna take the risk to save at the end. Because if you knew you already had done enough to earn your pip, you could die at the end doing an heroic action (and being the legend from the kids stories). Now, even if you do the most spectacular heroic action of all time, if you die, you're "not good" according to the game.
I'm no developer so I have no idea if changing the system would work, but I'd like the MMR taking into account the time we were chased, the number of unhooks/generators repaired, etc. But as I said, I don't know how to make it work correctly to match people better.
MMR is kind of OK though for me. I sometimes have that new player who is crouching everywhere and too afraid to do anything, but most of the time, I have decent people who seem to try their best.
But I can't play Killer because the game thinks I'm a god, while I have like 10ish hours of Killer gameplay under my fingers. I'm a Survivor main who's trying to play Killer too, but MMR disagrees.
-
The "I hate totems" build: Inner Healing, Counter Force, Overzealous, Small Game.
You know where totems are because Small Game warns you, you destroy them faster with Counter Force, you repair the generators faster after breaking a totem with Overzealous and, if you need, you can enter a locker to heal yourself with Inner Healing.
I have an altruistic build I like to use: Borrowed Time, Kindred, We'll Make It, We're Gonna Live Forever.
You see if you have a chance to reach the hook with Kindred (or if someone's already on their way), you unhook safely with Borrowed Time, you heal the victim faster with We'll Make It. Someone is being slugged? We're Gonna Live Forever! They'll be up in a few seconds only... and even less if you still have We'll Make It active! (Bonus: more BP with WGLF.)
-
I'm actually wondering how people handle to play with a controller. For me, it's black magic. But it's only because I'm very used of keyboard and not so much of controller.
But if you played more keyboard (and me controller), I think we'll see it's not that hard. Of course, I think we still have a preference for one or the other.
I'm kind of jealous of people who can use a controller super easy...
-
For Spine Chill, I don't think they're removing the speed boost, but the fact it activates when an Undetectable Killer is looking at you.
Undetectable = no Spine Chill.
Detectable (terror radius) = Spine Chill and speed boost.
That'd be more fair for GF, Myers, etc. People will have to open their eyes.

Im not a god survivor, but still smart enough to survive most of my matches. Two weeks ago I had 11 escapes in a row and I can prove it either, if you dont trust me. I did it on stream while my cat and puppy were fighting in the background. That means I even wasnt 100% focused on my matches. Hatch escapes count as a win for me, but Im not hiding or waiting for it. My perk build has become my lucky charm: DH, BT, CoH, Shadowsteps. There was one match against a baby GF and I gave him a free kill, but that still counts as a win to me, since I was already standing in an opened exit door.
To be fair I played at the right time and most of my mates were also decent, too.
Well, I think we all have our win streak. A month ago, I had a 12 solo Q escape in a row.
And sometimes, I have a dozen of matches where I die. Sometimes, it's more balanced, like I died twice then escape three times and died twice again.
Solo Q can be terrible but fantastic as well. It depends.
But I think it's kind of impossible to escape every match, every day, with zero death for a long time. Even as a SWF.

The whole community realised that years ago already. Killers complain about getting smashed by SWF, soloQ survivors complain about being smashed by Killers. Everyone except for good SWF teams is unhappy in DBD.
Now we just need BHVR to understand that.
Solo Q Survivors mostly complain about their teammates. When you loop the Killer for something which worth one or two generators, to see the auras of your teammates crouching around... Or when the three of them work on the same generator on the opposite side of the map while you're on the hook and no one moves... Or that Survivor who DC at five generators because they got downed in five seconds...

I'm echoing worry about displaying prestige ranks in postgame - people really do claw for any opportunity to both justify to themselves that the match wasn't fair, and to look for any available avenue to put down others they're unhappy with. Prestige levels I think will open up a lot of opportunities for these kinds of players to be more of a sourpuss in postgame chat.
I mean, I pretty commonly see unhappy small-game TTVs immediately open up steam profiles in postgame just to find things to scour off of that to use as insults! It's part of the reason why I keep my profile private which, of course, leads to them concluding that I'm a possible cheater instead.
😕
You can choose what to show without having a private profile. Mine is public but you can't comment, you can't see my games nor my friends... Just my avatar with my country and the description.
