I originally hoped that the first resident evil chapter would have been him
Same. I thought he would've been perfect for DBD but I still hope he comes in if they don't screw him up like Nemesis.

Stage 1 William Birkin with his pipe. Infect people with the G Virus embryo. Also having a mad sprint while swinging his weapon like a lunatic. (Think Bubba but way wilder and less precise)
If you die to the G virus your body becomes a g mutant. (You are still dead and out of the match of course).
Birkin can make his own more fearsome minions compared to Nemesis zombies. Trade off he has to make them himself in a sense.
If he came into the game he should've just been what Nemesis was but without the tentacle part and different means of infecting.

That doesn't make any sense too have it as a skin.

Mr. X I think would be awesome as a paragraph. Some want him as a skin for Nemesis but he doesn't fit Nemesis.

only fans that played the game know her....I dont think shes popular enough to warrant DLC
but if rumors are true.... Im very happy Rebecca is coming to DBD since shes my fav but Ada is also amazing as well
honestly i really like Sherry Birkin in RE6, she'd be cool as well!
I love Lisa. And that is the whole point of licensed chapters. Bring in fans from another franchise and people have wanted more Lisa Trevor so I think she'd be welcome.
Rebecca has one of my favorite games in the franchise, RE0. I hope Billy Coen could also join as a legendary skin. I doubt it though as Rebecca would most likely be licensed from RE5's Mercenaries mode.

Yeah that's what everyone is saying. I literally was being chased by Sadako. She was sniffing my neck and I turn a corner and use Bite the Bullet and she completely loses me because she can't even see me.

I'm sorry that DBD didnt turn out to be the party game that you hoped. I get more of that vibe from games like Evil Dead the Game. I 100% wouldnt mind options like that in that game. On DBD though i feel like they should be perks but also justfiy the perk slot. I know they wont either buff or combine the trash perks to make them viable but they also for sure wont just give those to us as options.
Sorry
Again, why is DBD the ONLY exception to this? It makes 0 sense. And no I didn't expect a party game. I prefer playing alone. And I know what DBD is. I've been playing since 2017. Michael was the only licensed character at that time.

Probably the first time I have EVER heard that.

Dante could just be on Leon since Resident Evil 4 created that entire franchise.

The icon in the tally screen that usually told you about the player rank. Super lame if it is going to be this wven you ask me.
With the future update that will give the prestige rewards, you will see the prestige level of that character instead of ranks so you can "showcase your dedication tl this character" -.-
I thought they were gonna add some calling card system or something and you'd get exclusive ones.

I'm guessing it's gonna be something like the 'crests' they mentioned. That way, it doesn't require the character's appearance to be changed.

Because boons are stupid. I don't think they are as strong anyways once people figured them out. Not many will probably use this because the perk slot would be better used for something else.

I agree that the game shouldn't be so competitive where fov changes are locked behind perks, but this argument just ain't it, sensitivity has been a base mechanic of games since 1993.
FOV and Sensitivity are similar things though when you talk about what this guy is saying. Both can give an advantage. A play with a higher FOV will have a lot more than a player with a low FOV. Same thing with sensitivity. Having a high sensitivity player will probably do much better than someone with slow motion sensitivity.
-
@Tiufal said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2965810#Comment_2965810
They are completely different. Sensitivity doesnt correlate to be an advantage if you turn them to one side. Its just an individual matter on what you like and can handle. FOV is just an advantage.
Both are preferences. Sure they do give an advantage. Both of them do. But that does not matter. Games where that might matter even more still have it.
-
@Tiufal said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2965743#Comment_2965743
Again, as long as its a free advantage to turn it up, its not an option that should be allowed.
Then why are there sensitivity options? Those are no different.

@sulaiman said:
Yeah, dbd did not do nemesis justice, and it never could, because it is a complete different game. Thats why you should be careful what you wish for. Because the wish coming true might not be the one you had in mind.
My whole point is that they are completely different franchises because instead of trying to bring in a character and his materials which fit fine they wanted to bring something that felt more like RE as a franchise.

1.) They only do full reworks if the killer power sucks, like old Freddy. Nemesis is doing fine, his power isn't useless garbage so there is no need to rework him (and no, you not liking it isn't a good reason)
2.) they could obviously be better
3.) I think the voices aren't bad, what exactly is wrong with them in your opinion?
4.) yeah, the orange entity stuff is weird and I also hope they remove it when they rework the map
1.) Old Freddy didn't suck though. I mean it seems like people really want him back though. Plus killers like Freddy and Artist or Twins have proven over and over that you can have a really strong killer but not many play them because they are kinda boring and old Freddy people would actually play because he was super unique and fun. Me not liking it isn't my reasoning. It's just that it does a disservice to the character. Sure there is some part where I obviously don't like it but there is a big part which is not about what I think like I just mentioned. He's nothing like Nemesis. Only him and Freddy in his rework got this treatment while everyone else was treated much better. And they did that for their biggest license to.
3.) They don't sound like them. I mean with them having the real actors from Pinhead and Ash, why not try to get some of the others? Not just for RE characters of course. But specifically talking about RE, they would probably be very open to it. And if you don't want to get them then get someone who sounds more like them. Jill sounds really old and Chris sounds like there is a whole rat stuck in his throat or he ate a bunch of dirt or sand.
4.) I don't Really think it's entity stuff. It looks more like RE style mutation since the entity stuff isn't really blobby I don't think.

@Tiufal said:

Its much better if you can just adjust your settings to get advantages right?
It's play choice. Again, it shouldn't be that competitive. Even more competitive game allow it. DBD should not just be a random exception.
-
@Dead_Harder said:
Guys there is a good argument here but FOV isnt it. You can go more restrictive if you want for some reason but giving more fov is really really good on killers that go into fatigue like nurse or blight.
Is more fov good enough to warrant a perk? I dont think so, but its not so free that you should just get it as an option.
The solution here is buffing worthless perks or combining them into ones with more worth. For example, lightborn plus shadowborn would actually be a pretty good perk while still being worse than most slowdown perks we have today imo.
This games shouldn't be so competitive where FOV is a perk.

It's like you've never heard of compromise before.
DBD is its own unique game. Resident Evil is it's own very different set of games.
Bringing a character from one property to another means making compromises.
Ranged explosives and bullet-shooting guns are not part of DBD's core gameplay nor its aesthetic charm.
If you want to argue he should have a cosmetic rocket launcher on his back, because it's iconic to the character, sure, why not.
If you want to shoot people and things with it, go play any of the hundreds of games where you can and it makes sense.
DBD is not that game.
The compromise was to make DBD feel more like RE even though they are completely different franchises? That doesn't make sense. The rocket launcher CAN work. It can fit.

Frank West definitely has great crossover potential, he's as wacky as Ash and equally stubborn and hard to kill. I could easily see him as a survivor in DbD.
With the 2nd Resident Evil chapter which now means they collaborated with Crampcom 2 times, it makes him even more possible!
-
I actually think she is quite strong. There is a lot of pressure at least when I was playing her. I usually specialize in the chase so I did pretty well without a chasing power. I think she is MUCH better than people say she is.

From the way everything was worded and shown, it's automatic.
I don't mind that. The main problem I have with what they showed was it doesn't show the whole animation well enough. Like that Deathslinger one they showed, it fades back in with the gun already in their back.

For me its honestly Freddy and Trapper, Freddy is one of my favorite horror franchise characters and has some good anti looping imo. That is not really a good argument for something that should be an accessibility option without hindering how you want to play the game (aka running 4 perks you want to and not 3 and 1 to get rid of motion sickness). It's literally embarrassing how bhvr put an accessibility thing as a perk. Basically removing some of the players agency.
Yeah it should be player choice. And not be forced into perks. No other game I've played does this. If people want to play with a more restricting FOV because they like it, that's on them. If others want to see more then they should be allowed to without using 1 of 4 precious perk slots.
-
@Brimp said:
Because "it would possibly make immersing less affective" and "balance around how much the killer can see". Like idk how the killer fov can affect how X will work mid game but bhvr things I guess.
I think they think everyone needs to be on the exact same playing field unless you're up a whole perks lot for it.
-
You can just break it which is not that hard to do if you know totem spawns.
-
Gaming gets you used to it.
-
I don't give hatch to anyone unless I see they have a challenge. Like for example, yesterday I let an Adam live since he had that new blue glyph and escape challenge. I let him go to help. If he didn't clearly have that, he'd be deas.

and because of that, it's getting a rework to be better to play on.
It really isn't that bad gameplay wise. It's surprising how well they made it fit. All the Easter eggs with it to like the yellow objects to highlight what you can use. The main problem I always admit that it can be made smaller with a wing randomly chosen to be blocked off whenever you get the map.

Probably not because prestieging still comes at the downside of reducing your bloodweb level to 1, thus not granting higher rarity items at first. Also it might still lock the other 3 perk slots, but we'll see.
Well IF it works that way though with the new update.

His zombies may not fit in his kit but neither does a rocket launcher fit in the game aswell.
This is not a Resident Evil game, it's Resident Evil adapted into Dead by Daylight and like all games or movies adapted into another media, you must expect some compromises to come along with it aswell, that includes not having a Rocket Launcher in DBD as it does not fit in this game and that's just a fact. period. It's chances of making it into the game is as realistic as your rework kit being implemented, they're both non-existing.
I'm done here.
That's the problem I've always brought up. This game isn't Resident Evil. They tried to make it feel more like RE though with the zombies instead of focusing on the characters like literally every other license was focused on. I don't feel like I'm playing a Halloween game when I play as or against Michael. I'm playing as or a against Michael in DBD. When Nemesis is in play, it feels like a poor attempt to add RE as a franchise to DBD when they are completely different things when instead you can actually put something in that number one, fits the character, and number 2, can fit and work better for gameplay.

There is no good reason though. It can work perfectly fine in DBD if they put some effort into it. And if you wanna use the argument of it doesn't fit thematically, then sure it may not but I think you can make an exception.
It not fitting thematically in DBD is a perfectly good reason for not including it and does not warrant an exception.
It's not scary but it's not like Barney the Dinosaur is chasing you or some crap. It's not silly, it's cool. May not be scary but it's still intense and cool which I think you an make an exception for your licensed killers.
What is cool/intense or not is entirely subjective and still does not warrant an exception for it's inclusion, especially not when it would stick out like a sore thumb because it's very existence does not make sense in a game like DBD.
If not, why even choose Nemesis in the first place.
Because Nemesis is not solely defined by the usage of his Rocket Launcher, it's not even his most defining feature, hell even in the RE3 remake he only gets his RPG once during his 4th boss encounter and then it's never seen again, same with his flamethrower. You can add Nemesis as a killer without any of his weaponry and it would not take away anything from his core identity.
His 2 most memorable things are his weapons and himself with his insane speed and strength. None of them are represented well. He can't be done well if you just shove in zombies as his power and a whip. That doesn't fit anywhere for Nemesis. The rocket launcher can fit. I guarantee I'd he had it, people would have been fine with it.
-
@MilManson said:
The only thing which really sticks to the lore of Nemesis is him destroying zombies that get in his way.
So when I smash a zombie that feels correct but he doesn't use his tentacle constantly he uses his hulking figure to smash through every obstacle.
Instead of the zombies, he should have a case that respawns that lets him pick a single shot rocket launcher which can destroy pallets/walls and injure survivors on a hit.
And maybe melee hits infect the survivors with the T-virus and after a certain amount of time like the plague at maximum effect if it isn't cured it lets nemesis see the survivor's aura while they are within five meters and beyond that, it disappears and that fits with the lore of him being a hunter.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/71YXNOCR8V7S/eoqjn2zwoams1zi.jpg
For the survivors, they've got the vaccine cases and also they could add a gun case with a gun with 5 shots, and say if Nemesis is shot directly in the heart 5 times by the gun it stuns him for five seconds and he falls to his knees clenching it and growling.
If the survivors could shoot him then every stun short be shorter so they can't just keep doing it when it's needed most.
-
All I know is I want whatever rewards to also include the licenses.

Monitor and Abuse, Bamboozle, I'm All Ears, STAKE OUT, BITE THE BULLET, Play With Your Food, Hex: Plaything, Hex: Huntress Lulllaby, Eruptionn and Overcharge. Out of those the MOST underrated one in my opinion is Stake Out. I am able to finish gens at the last second because of it. It may not seem like a lot but it does stack up overtime and you ALSO get a bunch of BP because you keep getting great skill checks.

Those should be your 4 survivors. Picking background characters for the new re chapter while Chris and Claire are just legendary skins doesn’t sit right with me. Also look how good Claire looks here😭😭
Yeah I talked about this in many different places. Why couldn't they just use those trailer models? All of them looked all good.
-
@bittercranberry said:
As an RE fan as well I agree 100% with reworking the models. They always looked half done to me as well especially Claire! I couldn't recognize her at first because her face is so weird but I think Leon is fine and don't get me started when Jill looked like a Nanny.
I agree that the tentacle being Nemesis's power is well not really Nemesis and not what makes him such a big threat in RE3 or the remake. You know at any given time he could close the distance on you and you'd have to dodge for your life & his weapons as well! LOL. But I don't think they'll completely change any KILLER'S powers because yeah they just won't and haven't done it to any other killer.
AND I'VE BEEN ADVOCATING FOR THE CLASSIC NEMMY SKIN. WHERE IS IT BHVR & yeah I don't know why they have all the orange things on RPD it just ruins it for me like can we remove these? I'm not a huge fun when they add the blight effect on skins as well it's just not good like one of Nea's tops has it and it's so cute but the blight edit ruins it. :(
Yeah I wouldn't be complaining about the models if Leon didn't look perfect. I would've given them a pass except for Claire and Chris but if they can make 1 really good then what happened to the others? Jill looks like she became a little bigger in her cheeks.
Actually they did change 1 killer's power entirely. Freddy got a complete overhaul. It's not impossible. Might take a long time but it's not impossible.
The only reason I can think of for them not having classic Nemesis is they probably do not have the original RE3 license. From examining the contents of the first chapter I concluded that they only have RE2 and 3 remakes, RE4 and RE5. Jill's classic RE3 outfit is actually the RE3R variant of it. So it is basically that classic outfit, it is actually licensed from the remake specifically. Same for Chris. It seems they don't have the RE1 license so they used the RE5 variation of his S.T.A.R.S. outfit to get it. I would assume if they did have the license for RESIDENT EVIL 3: NEMESIS, they would've most likely had that skin at launch because c'mon... Of course they would have classic Nemesis at launch if they were allowed to use him.

None of them really fit for Nemesis since they are all so different. They would all have to be their own killers. They work so differently from each other. But I love Wesker so I'm fine with him. Let D would be one of my last choices honestly. I think Mr. X and Birkin would've been my first choices.
