If you want to count it as a win then thats fine.
Still isn't an actual win though

“Camping isn’t toxic” is the worst take I have seen especially at 5 gens
It depends on the context. I'll camp a survivor as GH to lure more people in, if I know they got friends nearby, or in the EGC.

Literal "trash talk." I've been called trash twice. The first time, I probably deserved. I'm pretty sure I got someone off the hook then ran away, leaving them to die. The second time, just now, I was playing a new character (the Nurse) trying to get in a daily challenge. I did terrible. So yeah, maybe I did deserve it that time too. The difference between these two times was how I responded. The first time I responded with "Thanks" and he said "You're welcome" and then we were fine. The second one, I responded with "#########" and now my stomach hurts. I'm sure there's a lesson in there somewhere.
You don't deserve to get shittalked for doing poorly as a notoriously difficult killer dude.
Killer is hard enough and Nurse literally takes the most skill out of all them.

It's not really a map for a third person shooter. RE3 is a horror game

If it is what I think it is (granted I don't play Overwatch or Paladins) then I would say no because people generally don't interact with these systems. If they do, it's really quick and off the cuff without much thought put into who they're voting for, making the results lack in sincerity.
It also doesn't really have anything to do with actually improving the experience of DBD itself, rather serving as a rating system for the experience (specifically of other players). I'd like to see a lot more being done that changes DBD to be a better game, rather than superficial systems that ultimately don't contribute or impact (as much) to that effort for improvement as much.
Perfect example: do you actively use the "Did you have fun?" rating system in post-match? Those little five dots in the top left corner above all the loadouts that were being used which you can click on and rate your match out of five? Did you even know that existed in the first place? (Not a rip on OP or anybody else, I'm just pointing out that this little feature is entirely insignificant and goes unused and unnoticed by a majority of the community).
Although maybe I'm looking at it wrong and this is more of a community engagement change, akin to the ideas of leaderboards and clans which floated around a few years ago, and perhaps alongside these changes a commendation system might make more sense.
I've played both and they tend to be used alot, and not always just because someone's being really nice. Personally I think it could help relieve a lot of the bitterness in matches, especially when someone loses when the other team comes in to say you done a good job.
Besides it wouldn't take a lot to implement, they could easily include it in an actual patch.

With the recent addition of Boon Totems, and specifically Boon: Circle of Healing, maps like RPD- Especially, RPD have become 10x more insufferable. I played the remake of Resident Evil 2, I'm very familiar with the layout of the map- but finding totem spawns amidst the winding routes of the police department- and the frustration of being just above or below a totem and either having to go out of your way sacrifice time to make it all the way around to the nearest staircase and back up just to snuff it out or to leave it there and save your time but sacrifice your pressure- it's all just awful.
Arguably worse than Gideons because at least that map is relatively open and there are many spots that allow you to transition between floors, drop downs or actual staircases which are scattered both in the middle and edges of the maps. In RPD you have the center grand hall staircase, and then various staircases around the edges of the map that are all so inconveniently placed to get to.
A match I recently had where 3/4 survivors (fully decked out in the strongest of builds mind you- DS, DH, the whole kit and kaboodle) were running circle of healing, highlighted this issue for me. It was a disgustingly unbearable match, and though I put up some decent resistance- it seemed to me that Circle of Healing was the genuine win condition that cost me the match that I just couldn't compete with. It also didn't help that I was trying to get the Adept Artist achievement so I was lacking a perk in my 4th slot.
Since they probably won't change RPD because it's a licensed map, best I can hope for is some immediate changes for Circle of Healing- which I know is slightly unrelated to this thread but goddamn, it is far too strong on maps that have multiple floors.
EDIT: Since Hawkins is no longer present in the map pool, I don't see why it would be placed as an option in polls like this anymore. Especially when there's a limited number of poll options, it seems like a wasted slot (Midwich is very much a candidate for this poll being garbage in its own way for example, but it's not listed on the poll options because hawkins takes the spot??? Why???? @TheBigGopher )
I still hold a special hatred for Hawkins. Also most people here still played it and I was at school when I made this, so I decided to just put Hawkins there. Other is for the realms I couldn't include.

I think they're a good distraction item. Killers usually focus on someone who blinded them and even mid chase you force them to slow down and look away.
-
There's other problems with your idea, other than the one I just brought up
For example, sometimes you need to camp when you know another survivor is nearby. How is it fair you get punished for something you need to do?
Not to mention it screwing over ambushes, when I play GF I like to camp out nearby so I can stalk anyone freeing their friend, but then I'd get punished for doing so.

You have a good point @jesterkind . It could not work if the last generator was complete and the radius would change depending on the map. I don't have the answer for the second question because it never happened to me, but I think this had to be an exception on the program. Anyway, this is just a suggestion. What we have here is a problem about killers camping in a way thay shouldn't. People of the team have to come with a solution for this.
Then the killer, especially ones that can get quick downs like Oni can just drag out a match to infinity by camping
-

It's been weeks of me playing survivor and i'm still in this dumpster fire of an MMR with lemon survivors, WTH BHVR. Have you fixed your matchmaking yet? I'm already gold III and I can't getting a proper team yet, all i get are face camping killers and baby survivors who unhooks in front of the killer, like yeah sure feed him more hooks, let him get a 4k, also stand still i'm sure you're not gonna die there.
This is even worse as killer, I've been getting matches with lemon survivors since last week, like come on, haven't I killed enough yet, want me to get 5k or 6k just to get me out of this Hellish MMR? I've began to torture poor survivors while trying to pip myself just to see if their suffering would atleast get me a match with a gold survivor, STILL NO VISIBLE RESULTS.
I'm an Iridiscent 1 Killer FFS. I'm close to outdoing otzdarva's 50 winstreak with all these baby survivors i'm being paired with, also I've runned out of Ebony Mori and Rancor is useless because they can't even finish a single gen.
I have a sneaking suspicion this is because of Epic's free DBD release, All of them are Cross platform players,
I'll play my legion extra brutal and with Knock Out just to reduce their numbers until i get out of this MMR mess.
Enjoy the babies, atleast theyre funny and adorable. I'm red rank 3 and all of my matches are against annoying sweat lords.

To the people that refuse to leave the game until they’ve got the killers attention at the exit gates just so you can teabag and click your flashlight. Why?
when there’s literally nothing else to be done, all other survivors are either dead, escaped or at the gates with you fully healed. Why?
when you’ll repeatedly fast vault a window just to try and draw the killer over to the exit gates and annoy them even further. Why?
seriously what is the point?
Who hurt you? What went wrong in your life where annoying others is your only source of pleasure?
God I hate it when I'm letting them leave and they just stay.

And this is why I'm going to ignore you from now on because this doesn't make any sense. You're literally saying regardless of how the team plays everyone should suffer the same consequences. Theres no point in even playing especially solo que if that were the case. My suggestion is fair and does not give anyone a pity escape.
Yes, you should. Becsuse this is a TEAM game. You're not Rambo, You're a survivor. If you and your team failed that miserably where you need the hatch to escape then thats on you. Survivors have enough free escapes as is.
Oh good lord you have to be either the next coming of Sluzzy or a moron, how the hell is this game remotely killer sided?
Pallets are spammed all over the map and have no counterplay unless your kit is based around screwing over looping or the survivor is an idiot.
Hook placement is dependent on the map, Haddonfield, RPD, and Springwood have terrible hook placement. Gates open quickly without any perks and if you're still having trouble then just bring a key. The simple fact is your idea is horrible. It'll only encourage people to play Nurse because she's slower than the survivors (therefore making them move at a snails pace) and push them to slug and only slug.
You're not meant to survive on your own, you absolutely can but you're not supposed to. Get used to it.

Basically, the Oni wanted to honor his family name, and exterminate the "Impostors" among the Samurai ranks. It ended up getting him the nickname "Oni" and he killed everyone who called him "Oni Yamaoka" anyway, he accidentaly killed his father, dishonoring his family name - now when a samurai dishonors their family, their supposed to kill themselves honorably, something like slitting their throat than disembowling themselves, I don't remember and can't be asked to check. But I guess Kazan didn't care about the way of the Samurai, so he killed this one guy who talked ######### about him and than got taken to the murder dimension we all love.

Honorary mention to Nea but I've never seen a bigger collection of toxic players than Feng players and I JUST had a game where Feng Min got downed first and IMMEDIATELY rage quit before a gen had even been done, dooming us all to die.
Ironically most Neas I see are fairly normal. It's the Feng's, Steves, and Jills that irritate me.

For me your Jill's are my Dwelfs. Annoying ######### they are, cannot stand them. Sorry to anyone who isn't an annoying survivor who just likes those cosmetics but yeh I will kill off a Dwelf first off if I have the chance. If it's not Dwelves, it's Leons. If it's not Leons, it's Cheryl's, Steve's and sometimes Nancy's.
Jane's and Nea's in my experience have been the ones that think they're good when they get clapped in 0.5 seconds. I was playing the Artist earlier and had this Jane flashlight click and went down twice due to my sniping and she killed herself on hook. Another match I was playing Ghostface for my daily and had this bully squad consisting of a Nea, Nancy, two Fengs. Nancy kept following me around revealing me until I got tired of her ######### and hooked her so I could sneak around the map freely. They did the whole shebang of teabagging, organizing their pallet camps, locker stuns, clicking once then running back towards me, dead harding past me then it all went wrong at a pallet. All were injured and killed themselves trying to get that pallet save. Little did they know I had noed + blood warden at the ready but they did my job for me. I then had a Freddy daily where this Leon kept teabagging me throughout the whole match, unhooking in my face being a cocky prick. I killed the rest of his team thanks to him. Ended up face camping him when it was just him and Mikaela. I let Mikaela go, I didn't care about her but Leon was not getting off that hook. I've had a steady headache for 2 days now so my patience has been relatively thin.
Point being a lot of the time they think they're good but they're not. They rely on cheesy tactics that are "cool" to "juice". I can respect the player that can actually 360 me but clicking and then the spin + dead harding past me hoping I'll swing and miss is a no from me.
Oh yeah I forgot about Fengs, though from my experience Leons are usually pretty chill if a bit sweaty.

Without going too much into it:
- Pyramid Head has the worst selection of Addons of any killer in the game. They are bad, top to bottom and despite his power getting nerfed four times in quick succession, and all his perks reworked, his addons have never been touched. Even the ones that extend your shockwave range are actually bad for you, because they make you think you reach further than you do and when you try to play him without them, you end up missing a ton.
- His Torment Trails have SO MANY layers of self-nerfs on them. I'll just give you a quick list: Makes a ton of noise, slows you down, throttles your turning, has a limited number that can be placed at once, has a limited number that can be placed total, only last for 60 seconds, Can't be placed near doors, hooks, gens, or stairs, and can be totally ignored by just crouch-walking for 0.5 seconds. They're hilariously useless and yet so over-hyped because CAGES! Oh man, a single mechanic in the game that prevents the use of Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike, the two biggest crutch perks Survivors endlessly spam? OH MAN. They need to ease WAY back on, like, half of those restrictions.
- His shockwave is the only skill shot in the game that straight-up creates a red beam of light telling the survivor exactly where it's going to go. I do not know why they felt he needed this ADDITIONAL layer of self-nerf, on top of planting the blade making a ton of noise, taking a really long time to set up, throttling both your movement and turn radius, the wave having a really long travel time for survivors to move, the wave having a very narrow width and limited length, and a recovery time longer than swinging your weapon. Again: WAY too many restrictions baked in. After they put the added nerf of "can't swing after putting it away," there is only one time you can actually use this power, and that's when the survivor is locked into an animation, like vaulting or dropping a pallet. In both cases, it depends on the survivor screwing up, not any skill by the killer player.
PH is, and always has been wildly over-hyped for a pretty middle-of-the-road killer with too many restrictions baked into a kit that is fundamentally just anti-loop. And, if I haven't stressed it enough yet: REWORK HIS ADDONS! Throw all the existing ones out and make new ones from the ground up.
I dunno, I usually dominate as him

Plausible but we are going to lose the horror game essence, where the characters are fighting for their lives.
It sorta fades away about when Michael Myers can't handle a block of wood and a window.

@Seiko300 said:
Devs said they would never put "Fortnite esque dance emotes" in Dead by Daylight.
Probably for the best. That sounds wildly out of character for Dead by Daylight, and as much as people on the forums love to joke about that stuff (IE Shirtless Myers) that would probably never fly due to the license holders.
I mean- in order to do something like that, I'd assume you'd have to get every single license holder to agree to that? Since it would be a killer wide input that affects all killers that they would all be able to do. I don't see that happening anytime soon, or really anytime at all.
You also have to think about what that means for Dead By Daylight's brand and image, regardless of what the community thinks, the Dead By Daylight Brand takes it's horror aesthetic very seriously (proof of this can be found in nearly every single trailer or DBD production for commercial / advertised use on Youtube and other media platforms), and that's appealing for new players looking for a horror-themed game / horror-themed party game. It's also appealing to potential future partners with Dead by Daylight, who see a horror game filled to the brim with recognizable slashing icons who have been faithfully recreated alongside a multitude of well written, interesting, and unique original characters. I can scarcely imagine what the license holders for The Xenomorph, Candyman, Pennywise, The Predator, The Thing, etc. would think if they saw killers could "victory dance" on top of a corpse that they just murdered via memento mori. I hardly imagine the license holders for Myers, Freddy, Pinhead, Leatherface, etc. would have appreciated that either.
(Although yes, I acknowledge that Resident Evil & Stranger Things happen to be in Fortnite which is emote city x10, but I wouldn't go so far as to say they represent the interests of every license holder that has made partnerships with DBD and I think that's a reasonable inference to make.)
Hilarious for the internet, great for memes if people want to make their own SFM or that kind of thing, probably not good for the game's public image.
Plus, I think the limited amount of expression killers have access to is funny in its own right. Simple things like the slow turn around or a head nod wouldn't be nearly as funny in the past if we already had super elaborate emotes from the very beginning. Killers have made the best with what they've got and I think that's fine.
You say all of that but then Feng Ming gets another set of pjs. The game barely takes itself seriously anymore, why not.

@BenOfMilam said:
Hatch sort of has the problem of encouraging highly selfish behavior from survivors. "If I let all my teammates die, I can escape through hatch and win!" I can't count how many games I've played as killer where one survivor just waits for everyone to die and then goes looking for hatch (or worse, they farm their teammates off hook without BT so they die quicker).
It also has the problem of encouraging killers to slug for the 4k. "If I hook this survivor, the last one can find the hatch and I won't get a 4k!" I can't tell you how boring it is for you and your friend to take turns getting slugged and revived for 10-15 minutes.
The problem with removing the hatch is that Dead By Daylight does not have an in-game timer to prevent matches from taking 30 minutes to an hour, so the last survivor could just be a locker jockey until the killer DCs. There's no actual reason for a match in DbD to take too much longer than 10-15 minutes, with particularly stalemate heavy matches taking around 20 minutes.
Hatch and EGC are really just band-aids for an easily fixable problem: The game has no time limit.
Usually I find the hatch first, I dont know what's up with you. The last survivor at least deserves a chance, and if you notice he's a dick then be a dick back.
-
MMR is awful, when I play with survivors we never get anything done and its 50/50 if we're fighting a God tier killer or a baby.
As killer it's the same, only a higher chance to go up against annoying as SWFs.
