I'm that stealthy boi you hate trust me. You'll wish you never took Whispers against me cause I'll have you locked in the same place on the map for 2 minutes lol

Yeah but if you are the last survivor... Unless that hatch is close by to you... You're gonna have to do some good stealthy moves without the killer seeing you. It wouldn't matter to me how long it took, you can only maneuver the 32m circle so much and eventually either you get the hatch, or you get cornered.

I always enjoy that challenge though if I got whispers and stealthy claud is hiding in the swamp somewhere.

Hopefully one day we get to test those moves out :)

  • @weirdkid5 said:
Whispers doesn't always help against really stealthy survivors, I can tell when a Killer is using it and change my strategy accordingly by remaining on the move. You guys shoulda played more MGS. You shouldn't be required to use a perk to fix ######### game design anyway.

That's BHVR's philosophy honestly. If it's #########, just make a perk to "fix" the problem rather than actually fixing it.

idk, I've had some good success with it. If they are hiding and staying still in the map anywhere, except in a locker, you can pinpoint almost exactly where they are hiding. You can even tell which direction they are moving in if they are UE'ing around.

Spies has been interesting too.. but if the survivor has UE, then it won't help.

  • Yeee. Thats why I take whispers. I know it sucks to take a perk for this reason.. but man... I find without it, you are sometimes at the survivor's mercy of them finding the hatch and getting out. So you basically just go around in the hopes you see them.

Whispers finishes that search rather quickly.

So you're proud you farmed some survivors because it's a "different" playstyle? Are you even listening to yourself? If you really want to have fun BY YOURSELF just play a solo-mode videogame instead. And yes, I WILL get mad knowing there are types like you who entertain themselves on the behalf of other players that didn't do any wrong towards you.

Just... stop. If you don't agree with my statements, that's fine. But at least try to explain your point of view in a smart way instead of just repeating the concept of "hurr durr i can do it so i will do it who cares its just game"

I can hardly imagine how "fun" it must be to start a game and be farmed by someone else.

Yes I am proud! I'm not gonna be a hypocrite and say I haven't when I will purposely do it. When someone starts a match and throws out the "all survivors start together" then proceeds to fast vault a window right beside where everyone started...I don't mind farming that prick.

If a survivor goes out of their way, in my eyes during the match, and sandbags me cause I'm hiding and their being chased... I'm gonna try to farm them if they get caught.

If a survivor starts being a weirdo in lobby chat making some off comments.... I might just decide to stay in that lobby and single them out if I can. Farm away.

You see... I don't care about if that survivor gets upset that I farmed them. I really don't.

No sympathy what so ever... If I get farmed... either purposely or accidentally, which I don't really know, I go through the phases of being hooked and don't DC like a puss cause I don't care. I'll take my death and move on. I don't see why the killer needs to be punished for that survivor farming me.

So... if survivors want to do "funny" things in the match to ruin the experience for myself... Then I will go out of my way to be "funny" with them. If the killer wants to punish the survivor that is up to them.

I'm not gonna run off being mad cause it really isn't that big of a deal. I might be mad in the moment, but that fades away quickly, cause there really isn't any point to hold onto it.

All I know is... I play this allot... I'm probably gonna see you again at some point.... If I remember who you are, cause you annoyed me that much... I won't hold any sympathy for you in the match if you get hooked.

Some of the funniest and funnest games are when survivors are going after one another.

Is that all you have to say? Calling me out as a man-child because I can't enjoy a game because of a busted system? If this was a troll attempt it was disappointing at best.

I want to see YOU get farmed by your teammates because apparently... some game's currency goes first then the fun of everyone else according to your logic! And just saying, I'm not pretending people to play the way I want to. You can say whatever you want but this is a TEAM game and I expect people to play it as such.

I'm just going to assume you got everything wrong on the post and just spat random words only to spread salt.

Team game?... Maybe if they want to play as a team the survivors can.

Being farmed?... ME?.... Yes I have been farmed ALLOT... I just finish off the match and go onto the next. I don't really care that much... Cause it happens. I've even done it. <- ooo.. I admitted to farming some survivors off the hook... Oh noes. Maybe I shouldn't get BP if it was such a bad thing.

@Shad03 stroked your comments for you though.

I don't understand what is broken about it though?.... Maybe they could tie it to the safe unhooking?... Maybe work the perk a bit differently. I don't know. I'm getting tired of having the play styles massaged away into a vanilla routines that get boring after a few matches.

You know... Survivors sometimes do "funny" things to one another in a match... And just sometimes... You treat other "teammates" differently cause of those "funny" things. So if I choose to farm a survivor.... I'm not sitting there giving a crap if I got the points or if the Killer cares that I did it.

I like the idea killers deal with it in their match as they see fit. I personally, when playing killer, don't care. Most times I'll go after the other survivor anyways cause I want their BBQ stack, but if I don't need it, I'm going after whomever I see first and easiest.

Shouldn't get mad about it though.. Cause not everyone plays the same way or even cares about the playing in the way you want. Punish survivors as you see fit, you're the killer. Don't get mad about it though, that seems rather pointless.

  • I love these posts. You should re-title the post to... "They didn't play the way I wanted them too, so I got mads!"

Make sure to add the "s" on the end of "mad"... makes it seem more child like.

Like others said... Sometimes the killer sees the farmer and teaches them a lesson for it.. Just do that if you want.. Or just be happy they are making the match easier for you.

I don't know.. I create a lobby as killer... Sometimes I look at the group of survivors and say... "Oh man I think these guys are gonna run me around all match." Then they turn into a bunch of potatoes half way through the match. I win the match happy the survivors made my job easy. I don't go running away from my computer mad cause they didn't play the way I was expecting them too.

Just saying... If you are gonna get that mad... Maybe you should look a bit internally to see why you got so mad from someone not playing the way you wanted / expected them too.

Edit: I thought you were gonna make a post about you seeing more killers farming in their matches... but then I seen that.

  • She is dirty.

  • I wish it was weighted. I don't buy in the shrine anyways. However I don't think making it 100% random every time is good. It should be weighted based on how many times it has shown up in the last 365 days.

  • You should read this post that someone made that discusses an issue about the Death Efficiency Issue with DBD.

It is actually a good post about how killing off the first survivor really fast in a match can really hinder the survivor team. Pretty good to note as a killer.

It also explains why the hatch mechanic may have been put in the game. To help with that issue. Kind of makes allot of sense as to why the Devs have been slow at changing how the hatch works without making the game worse for players.

It might shed some light as to why the hatch is there and why it functions the way it does right now.

Here is a link to it:

I didn´t kill myself on hook because they didn´t even open the gates and were literally swarming the hook like seconds after I got hooked so I wanted the killer to still focus on me if that makes sense. I realize it´s just a game but I still play to win and as a survivor you basically win if 3 people get out - at least in my book. But then again some people in this thread said they have fun trying to go for the "impossible unhook" as it´s more exciting to just escape without a chase so I will keep that in mind next time haha.

Sometimes the match is boring and doing that save seems like the only excitement you get over a few matches. Would have been fun for those 3 to have worked together to get you out of there after she camped you. Just didn't work out for them. Too bad the kindred didn't help them better to coordinate.

  • @antgnstea said:
I see here a lot of discussions where survivors explicitly say it was not fun to play and they probably will dc against Nurse, Legion, Spirit. And I see while playing a lot of survivors see the others with purple or higher addons they dc which tells me they are not fun against either.
So my question is there any killer that survivors prefer to go against all the time in the game?

Survivors will complain about any killer you take... It seems like allot of baby survivors have decided to DC for whatever reason comes to their head. It is actually becoming a sad joke tbh.

My suggestion is don't give a ######### about what survivors want in your match. Play the killers you like and hose as many of those survivors you can. Take note of the DC'ers and beat them down every time you see them in a match and make them DC.

  • I don't know... As a survivor... you get to the door... you open it... you look back at the hooked person and say...."Do I leave or got for the unhook?"... Sometimes it feels like more fun to go for the unhooking. Other times I weigh the escape points to the unhooking points and say... "Nah! Die turd ball."

But.... when you seen them all coming and attempting to swarm the hook... why didn't you just suicide on the hook?.. If this whole situation burned you so bad? You could have sent a clear signal of being camped...Doors opened.. see them coming in to you... die on the hook.. give up those struggle points.

Don't complain about such a dumb thing... sometimes people enjoy the fun of trying for the hooked survivor... if it was a boring match up to that point.. why not?.. It is just a game.. you don't actually die IRL when you get hooked do you?

You get mad of poor Miss Piggy cause she decided she just wanted you... Haven't you done that as killer?... Someone gives you that challenge of being caught... So you decide... "Ok fuckboy! I'm just going for you this match!"... I do... Tunnel and camp that one.. who care about the rest... Just that one.

You reported the person for getting stuck in the rock for 10 minutes? Are you being a werido or something?

Or are you saying you sent in a ticket explaining a survivor got stuck in this rock and. included a screenshot?

Cause I believe the Devs can fix those sorts of issues...

As for reporting and trying to get someone banned on console... That would be the only reason they can't do anything.

Survivor gets stuck in rock... Killer flips out on survivor cause it wasn't the survivors fault.... Survivor stays in the match for no good reason... Killer doesn't realize match is borked and just has to bail out and play the next one... Reports survivor for getting stuck in rock.... Gets mad at Devs cause they can't ban that dumb survivor for getting stuck.

    LULS

  • Yee... Its too bad for some reason the Devs weren't forward thinking enough to discern which survivors in a lobby are SWF or not. Which looking from a programmer perspective is completely weird why this would be an issue not to figure out, since the SWF is hosting the other SWF players when joining it. So it isn't that they don't know they are SWF, but someone thought it wasn't important enough to actually flag it in some data structure internally in DBD.

Cause if it was people hacking the memory to see if there was SWF or not... Someone using MLGA can easily tell simply by the number of IPs shown. So I don't understand what mentality was used when thinking knowing who is SWF in the lobby or not wasn't important.

Would be nice as a solo player to see the perks the killer has, to know if your guessing on certain perks used in the match was valid or not. Def gonna make it harder for newer players playing solo for sure.

So you're telling me when Killers already have time crunches we have to spend our time looking for vessels to break.

Which made you can only be broken after we get the hook so we have to disrupt the flow of our progress to break these objectives.

Also on average survivors will still be getting more points than us because not only are we wasting time giving them time to do gens which gives them points but if they manage to escape with the vessels they get a huge boost in points.

Well damn looks looks like I literally have no reason to play Killer during is event especially considering if they make it a maximum campaign point pool the eventually did with the hollow blight I could just get all my coins playing Survivor.

TBH Survivors getting more points in the event might be a better thing. Last event killers were or felt like, they were getting more points so the queue times for killers was brutal. Which led to a bunch of other problems with people being able to complete the event.

So hopefully people will be more spread out on which side they will play most during the event.

  • So is the vessel gonna be an object you need to carry as a survivor. Meaning Franklins is gonna be popular?

  • @Mochan said:
Stop being a pussy and don't use MLGA.

MLGA is for people who can't hack it in the real game so they must create their safe spaces.

Also I heard using MLGA is actually bannable. Can I report you for hacking the game?

Nah it is a "use at your own risk" status. Unless EAC decided it wanted to go after people for it, which most likely will never happen, cause of a slew of reasons.

Besides won't be an issue in once the dedicated servers come out.

  • Learn how to turn pain into pleasure... If you are gonna be hooked for eternity might aswell have an orgasm every time.

  • Cool thing would be to add in some killers who were made up of 2 parts... Where each killer would have to play their role in the match. For example.. like Master Blaster from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome....
One could be Master and the other Blaster.

  • @Slayer said:
Yep why would you need it anyway after that ?

Same really could be said for now. I used it a bit when it first came out.. but stopped. I haven't used it in over a year and really don't experience too many issues were I thought I wish I still had it.

  • @chefdave12118 said:
What is mlg software, and what does it do and how do I get it (if it's allowed)?

I wouldn't get to obsessed with it. Once dedicated servers come out it won't work anymore.

  • It is probably the Java or the library it uses for reading the network traffic. I'd try reinstalling both of those.

  • @JohnTed said:
So, you mean it would be unfair to old players?
It should not be a reason to stop advance. If we use this logic to employ to other things, it will be very terrible. For example, free education should not be implemented because it wold be unfair to those who paid for education.

It would be unfair to old players cause of the time and effort put in. However I didn't suggest they didn't change it though did I?... I think I even offered a suggestion on it. They could just offer up a reward like the legacy was offered up when the grind was changed.

    One thing though...

I see what you were trying to do, but comparing education to a video game isn't a fair comparison. You can apply logic however you want, but the first logical question you should ask yourself is... "Is this a valid comparison?" Then you might not have even mentioned what you did.

Generally subjects can be far more complex with many nuances then simply applying one generalize logical statement as a blanket statement across a range of different subjects. Education is a far more complex subject then a "grind" in a video game.

Please use logic if you are trying to apply it. First thing you might want to ask yourself next time is, "Is this comparison a valid comparison?"

  • @DwightsLifeMatters said:
@TheBean do you have more informations about this topic and EAC? Since you are the only one in the forum who has knowledge about that stuff I'm just asking you.
From my understanding the UI folder isn't checked by EAC cuz u can't get any advantage by changing stuff in it.

I don't really know everything that EAC does. I've just programmed small things that have done what this program does.

I would say changing those files are "do so at your own risk" like what BHVR has mentioned.

    One thing though.

EAC can detect changes to those files just like they do for other game files. However they don't cause BHVR never told them to do so.

EAC is mainly just going to monitor things that the Devs paid for in their service. I imagine there is different levels of service they can purchase from EAC. Once they've setup their service with EAC, EAC pretty much takes a hands off approach and won't do anything "extra" that BHVR hasn't paid for.

So, I believe, in the case with changing these perk files. When BHVR says...'Well if EAC all of a sudden decides to check and ban for it, we can't help you." However, EAC isn't going to piss off their client BHVR by all of a sudden deciding on their own, that changing these files will get you banned. Simply cause they could ban a bunch of people and put BHVR in a bad spot in having to explain why this all of a sudden happened.

EAC wouldn't make that decision on their own without consulting their client BHVR. BHVR wouldn't also allow them to have that sort of "free reign" on those kinds of decisions.

So in this sort of file changing, I believe if it was going to get people banned, BHVR would get noticed before hand and let people know it was going to happen. OR, BHVR would put out an update and just change them all back and make it so you couldn't change them anymore. They aren't all of a sudden going to turn around and start banning people for it, well over 2 years since people have been doing it.

I could be wrong, but I don't think they will ever ban for it at this stage.

  • ??... Are you a fan of Tru?...

Cause if you are you are a poor one. I personally would hate some fan schmuck coming on here and posting my vids trying to debate a discussion that the vid has nothing to do with.

In that case, Look up Marth88's (I think its just Marth now) The dereanking squad had 0 perks and 0 items and went against Killers with the best perks rank 3 with some of the best in slot add-ons and still destroyed the killers. That alone shows the game control 100% being in survivor hands unless said survivor makes mistakes.

Geez... You do know that experiment was dismissed by the Devs right?... Over a year ago... Still people hashing up useless info. If the Devs aren't going to take serious that experiment then there is no need for anyone else, cause it is meaningless without the Devs support behind it.

  • Here is a couple links. The one for how to make your report.

Then the other is the link the DBD's support site where you create the follow up ticket.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system#latest

    https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

  • You still need to fill out an ingame report.. I packages up some info about the game, etc.. then sends it to the Devs. They need to prove who was in the match, so that info includes everyone that was in it.

Then you can send an email to support (i believe, not 100% on the email) with a link to the video as extra evidence.

It is another to come here and complain about balance and fairness, when you say you'll disconnect cause YOU think it isn't fair.

Interesting. So you want us to say it is "ok" to ruin the fun / game for 4 others in the match cause you aren't having fun?

Sorry me no stroke you. I will hand you a tissue though.

It is hard to get people to agree with disconnecting in a match cause you refuse to play it out simply cause YOU find it unfair. I'm sure there are others out there like you. You and them can have your pity party together.

  • @Hesmart said:
    I didn't expect nothing from you :)

Funny... Your post suggest otherwise. Seems like you want people to stroke you for some reason.

  • The grind was worse in the past cause of the sizes and costs of the bloodweb.

But yeah with each new chapter you're looking at 3 new perks per side.

They should consider removing a level in the perk rankings or just make them 1 rank only and make it so you only get 1 per web instead of two after level 25. That might lessen the grind.

But they should then compensate others who've spent loads of points in getting all those perks. This is probably why we haven't seen much of a change in the grind over the past year.

However new players do get the first 3 perks for each character now, even though they are rank 1. Having rank 1 self care on claud or meg is a pretty good start now.

  • @Hesmart said:

Here is the thing with that tho. It cant detect it cause your are putting it in the same file name. And waht eac basically does is check the base game files and compare it to your game files. So if you somehow do [BAD WORD] up your file names and EAC notices it, u will get banned. But if you do put it in correct file anme and replace it, I dont think EAC will notice it. I thasnt noticed it for me

    mmmmm... WHAT?

So... Are you saying that the Devs from DBD didn't put in a hardcoded filenames for the icon files?....

Are you saying that if you don't put in the proper name... DBD will still load it up... but you risk EAC saying... No you changed that filename?

Maybe... I could understand that if EAC was hardset on the capitalization of the filename.. So if someone named the file adaBB.png compared to ADAbb.png.... But... Do you think it does? Logically do you think it does?

Here is what EAC could do.. Not sure if it does cause I don't know the internals of EAC...

It could take the filedate, filesize and filename of the original created file from the Devs and use that to compare to local files. Filedate would be difficult and probably not reliable... You might just ban someone for no real reason.

It could also generate some sort of HASH number based on the data of the file. This could be done by the Devs at creation... Then EAC could verify the contents of files, so even changing 1 bit in the file would produce a different HASH number.

See that stuff... To me seems more logical.. If they went that deep in checking the integrity of files. However... Changing the file name?... Unless BHVR did some magic trick that can tell one icon from another from any randomly generated filename.... You change that filename, you most likely won't see the perk icon even show up in the game.

If you think that EAC would have any issue detecting changing the contents of an image file you are sadly mistaken. How do you think it detects changes in game files were you could change the Clown to wearing to tutu.

I just don't understand where the filename part comes in.. you don't name the file correctly you'll be breaking DBD.

    Anything is possible though.

You complain about someone making an embarrassing post, but say you'll DC cause feel you won't have fun.

So who made the embarrassing post?... I think the one who is selfish and would rather ruin others peoples fun cause they decided to play a game knowing full well what is part of it.

I mean... I play DBD knowing that at some point I'm going to face someone who is going to make my match unfun with their style of play. I'm not gonna go cry about it and DC though... Why?.. Cause I'm not gonna be the a-hole who decides who has fun and who doesn't. They paid their money, they should be able to play the game aswell, just cause you don't like that they choose Nurse. They play within the rules set out by the Devs then it is all fair game.

You should learn to accept that there are parts of the game the otherside might not enjoy and you should consider that what some find fun others may not, but it doesn't mean everyone needs to be penalized simply cause don't feel like playing the game you accepted when clicking on the Ready button.

Please stop playing if you feel you need to DC to ruin the game for everyone.

  • I don't understand why someone would play killer if they are scared their totem gets nailed within the first minute of play.

Don't play killer if you can't handle that mental stress. It really isn't that big of a deal to cry about it.

  • @KissyKissy said:
You dont get it. Let's say I do find a hook in reachable distance; then, the survivor goes to that hook while im carrying the other survivor and sabo's that hook. Now do that over and over. So tell me, what am I supposed to do? Keep picking them up, have them sabo, then the survivor escapes? Im supposed to do this over and over?

Have you ever gone in as survivor with the sole purpose of sabo'ing the way you described? Try it a few times and tell me how well you do with it.

It takes timing. So you go around.. hit some hooks to 99% in an area of the map. Usually choose near doors. So you usually need to hit the 3 or 4 near one another cause there is no point hitting just 1, since the killer could simply take the survivor to another close by hook. This whole time you aren't on gens. Maybe you pick off a couple dull totems as you jump from hook to hook.

Now the fun part... You have to be in the area, where someone is being chased and downed. You need to be close by aswell, since the killer could have downed the survivor near the 99% hook. Now you need to run up, hopefully not get hit in the process and break the hook.

So... The majority of the time when you are trying to pull this off, you aren't working on a gen.

So what do you want?.. Someone who focuses on getting gens done or someone who goofs on the match trying to get that lucky sabo off? And I mean lucky, cause most of the time, you'll never be in the right spot in order to get to that hook and break it in time.

Yeah, the issue is I get rarely Dailys with more than 30k points, how about you? I got one mori daily with 60k points within a whole month.
Yeah could trade with shards, but that's a bad trade to do lol. If would do it if I get 1 million BP for one 1k shards

It is a bad trade.. but I don't know.. gets tempting when you got 23K shards and nothing else you want to spend them on.

Such a weak dumb argument.. I don't know if you see it dumb aswell or stand behind this reasoning. What's the difference between unlocking the perks early day 1 or late day 1? Killer mains will unlock it at day 1 anyway. Who cares? People will run the build they want some day.

Aahh whatever, I just can't understand some decisions of the devs. The BP cap annoys me a lot tbh

true... a day or so really won't matter.. most hardcore players will still have the teachables and perks going on other character a few hours afterwards anyways.

You could have close to 2 mil anyways on a release day. With 4 dailies and then the shrine blood points if you got shards.

    Cuuuuz .....??

Cause causal players complain after the release of the new killer or survivor, hardcore players have unlocked the teachables and are already loading their Billys and Nurses with the new perks slaughtering them 10 minutes after launch. Same with survivors that have all the perks.

Only takes 9 webs per character to get all the new perks at rank 3 once you've unlocked the teachables.

  • They also made it an obsession perk.

They also removed the ability of every survivor in the match from being able to use it like the obsession. Those not the obsession get the DS skill check after a certain percentage of wiggle done.

  • That has happened to me a few times... I love those moments.. I take the bleed out with pride. It means I rocked you mentally and you've given up.

I'll be smiling with glee as I spin at your feet.

  • There won't be any 2 killer mode coming out shortly.

That sort of stuff couldn't happen until they get Dedicated Servers going. There would be too much reworking if they tried to do a 2 killer mode in P2P.

Since they've come out with a plan for Dedicated Servers, I bet, they would never be touching that P2P networking code unless they absolutely had to.

  • If there was a reset like you mentioned above, there would be no more point in playing.

Why would I want to throw away a possible 100s of hours of game play? You don't get those offerings or perks without playing the game... So why bother even playing if your effort has to be thrown away all the time.

Who is going to buy a game that throws away the time you've spent playing it all the time. Like just tosses it out the window?

Thanks for the effort you put into making the post though... but it would be a complete waste of time.

I'm glad my anyways offended you, that's precisely what I wanted, but anyways (again),
you're still making Phd thesis' to make a point that doesn't exist, you're arguing your assumption that OP needs "easier" targets and not people of his skill level like he said. You're turning this whole discussion now about how the ranking system is fine rather than staying on the real topic because you want to talk trash. Now with that being said, you can throw me more salt diamonds and I really don't care for it because I'm not going to help you throw this thread out of topic.

Explain to me then why someone who is ranking up against the other side is playing against people that are more skilled and a better players then them?

    Please explain that to me.

Explain to me... How... If the ranking system used to be where you only have to 10K against the otherside.. or just get 2 kills against the otherside is easier or harder then the current ranking system?

I mean you seem to be the enlightened one...

So please explain how the ranking system.. Which isn't too hard to rank up in, especially if you just keep playing the game allot, constantly pits you against players who are less skilled then you, while you are ranking up in it?

Please explain why a survivor who is at rank 10 is more skilled the the player who is a rank 4? (Without using the smurfing, SWF, or people who intentionally derank to face lower skilled players.) Just the raw comparison of a solo rank 10 person to a rank 4 person on the same side.

You're anyways didn't offend. I made me laugh... Cause when I was a little kid long ago, I used that term allot, and people would mock me cause of how unintelligent it comes across when you follow up things with... Anyways...
