I was just replying to the comment saying we would only get enough shards to buy half of a cosmetic. I'm not sure I'd agree they're trying to manipulate people by giving out less free content than in years past, but I do agree they've made mistakes on this event and I do miss the 2018 Blight event.
Next year they won't make any skins and then put them up for sale if we complain.
I also quoted the wrong person

Yeah let's just increase gen repairs by 50% despite the fact every single decent killer performs well.
Well the way I look at it is that solo queue survivors are awful. Even in red ranks. Anybody playing solo queue survivor knows this. I know I'm not good and somehow they're worse than me. We either buff solo queue so that even the most brain dead red rank survivor does well or we fix up match making and hope ppl stop purposefully throwing. The stats aren't surprising for anyone playing survivor. Basing everything off these stats though... It might just kill the game.
-
There's also the fact that ptb runs worse in general, whether it's the network or whatever changes they make in the background. Ppl already (rightfully) complain about the poor performance on console, I think a console ptb might just blow up your console.

No evidence they've ever done it, and I've seen plenty of cheaters that have been reported with evidence given with regard to what they did.
There is some evidence. Every once in a while you'll get some1 complaining in the Steam forums that they were banned for no reason. Also, salty ppl that have the banned symbol pop up time to time in the Steam forums too.

It's probably a bug that'll be fixed later.

It's actually a lie that companies don't pay taxes. There are companies (and ppl) that don't pay certain taxes but they do actually pay other taxes. U can't point to one and act like they're not paying millions in taxes. Whether or not u feel that the company should be paying every tax cuz they're rich enough is a different discussion. Then there are some articles that act like because the companies overpaid in taxes and got money back from the government, as shown in records, the government is paying tax payer money to companies. Finally, there are the ppl that imply that tax credits and tax breaks are the same thing as governments giving money to companies. I wish my tax credit from my school loans was the government giving me money but it isn't.
-
The game would become pretty boring imo.
Rebalancing the game to make it so it's absolutely not possible for killers to tunnel or camp at all will just lead the game into a safe m1 simulator for anyone who gets caught early as they wait their turn to be chased again. But hey DS + unbreakable will be deleted from the game.
Voice comms... That's uh. Well if you think the community is up for it.
Loads of killer buffs. Some kinda crazy some kinda meh. All chases end in 20 seconds or less and survivors manage a max of running through 2 tiles.
Hooks are removed and spaces out. Body blocking and sabo will work now so time to mess with the killer. Hook dead zones on the edges of the map will be fixed.
Schrodinger's pallets will be everywhere. Do they exist or do they not exist? If the killer checks then it doesn't exist. If the survivor checks then it exists. If nobody's there, who knows?
Pretty much every killer is deleted and nea will be the only killer.

Wasn't Nurse released in 2016? I've only played since 2018, was she buggy and not working well when she first got added?
I wasn't playing back then either but I was following the game. From what I remember, yes she's been buggy back then too. Basement bugged her out. Any building bugged her out. Verticality bugged her too. I believe she also got stuck in places too. I think her camera also bugged out in the past. Did she use to fall through the map or was that just a rare bug in general for everyone. Oh there was also the time where she could teleport out of the map. And the time she could teleport behind the exit gate at anytime during the match if she wanted to.
-
Blight is on drugs. U never know what you'll get playing against him. I assume it's the same on the killer's side.

I would love them to fix Nurse but I think the Devs don't want to add more fuel to that fire. Most agreed her add ons needed to be reworked but then they had to F with her base kit and give her a CD. Now I think they just don't want to touch her on the fear of making things even worse. It is ridiculous how long her bugs have been unaddressed. Meanwhile the stun on DS is bugged and gets patched in a week.
Most of her add ons are quite crap.
To be fair, I doubt nurse's bugs could be easily fixed. Judging from the little we know of how hit boxes, collision and dbd works, it's pretty clear that DBD is not really built very well for a killer like nurse. Trying to fix her bugs would be a slow nightmare for a normal company. For BHVR it'll be eons before they can fix her. Then a new map is introduced, maps are reworked, they make a slight change in how collision works or some other thing and nurse explodes again.
-
Solo queue buffs anyone?
-
I think the problem lies more in the fact that the devs are getting credit for their actions... Too much bad credit lol.

I can understand them not wanting their own forum used as a place to gather a following to stop paying.
But if there are enough players in this mindset we do need to use this forum to tell them why we won't spend money. Otherwise, they can't fix the issues players have.
But no company is going to allow their forum to be used to boycott them.
Then say it like that and don't hide behind some vague excuse that makes it sound like ppl are actively threatening and physically planning to attack BHVR.
-
I went looking for these "censored" threads... So calling for organized boycotts counted as an attack on outlets and got closed. Unless someone posted an actual attack and the comment was deleted. I still don't get the need to close the whole discussion at that point when you could just ban the offender.

"Whataboutism, also known as whataboutery, is a variant of the tu quoque logical fallacy that attempts to discredit an opponent's position by charging them with hypocrisy without directly refuting or disproving their argument"
People are saying that the devs are selectively applying logic to justify a nerf to Pop while not nerfing DS. "Oh yeah, well, how are you going to let DS stand when you nerfed Pop with logic that should also apply to DS!" Almost no one is directly addressing whether the nerf to Pop was necessary, or even substantial enough to alter how it's used. If someone were to drop a "Pop's timer should actually have been changed to 50 seconds instead. Here's an analysis I compiled based on hook times and pop times from 200 red rank matches," that would be awesome. But no, people are just mad at the devs for a double standard that doesn't exist. That is whataboutism.
But if they make a new topic talking about whether or not the two are similar and whether or not the two deserve the same treatment it is no longer whataboutism. You're using whataboutism as if things are a debate and we're all answering each other. This is a different discussion on a different topic. If you talk about why pop deserved the nerf without mentioning DS and some1 brings up DS, then that is whataboutism.
Now here's the biggest problem with a lot of ppl using whataboutism. They miss 2 things you learn in university about tu quoque.
1. Don't be a pretentious prick about fallacies and use them to shut down conversations. This is literally the first thing they tell you in class. U should use them to enhance your arguments at most but still address ppl's concerns.
2. It is not a tu quoque, if you use it against a moral argument. This has nothing to do with this conversation but I just want to put it out there cuz if your only argument is something is unfair, unfun or OP and some1 points out hypocrisy, it's no longer a tu quoque.
-
The way the devs are supporting the game will probably kill it. At a certain point there's just too many killers, perks and stuff that will cripple the game in terms of balance and create too many barriers to entry. Then there are all the bugs that just keep multiplying. They can't keep stacking stuff on top of a bad foundation and expect things not to collapse at some point.
-

You're right, but that's just entitlement and whataboutism. Killers are indignant that their meta perk got nerfed without survivor meta perks also being nerfed. The decision of whether or not to nerf Pop didn't have anything to do with the survivor meta, though, and besides it's unreasonable to expect the devs to always change the survivor and killer meta together just to make the partisans on the forum happy.
The devs should make whatever changes make sense to balance the game whenever they feel they're necessary. Pop was the strongest killer perk in the game before the nerf, and it will remain the strongest killer perk in the game after the nerf.
Totally agree with you that it's hard to blame them for not changing everything at once. I'm sure they'll nerf DS again at some point, and I agree that they should.
The point was that killers were always complaining that 60 seconds on DS was too long cuz the killer can go chase a different survivor, down them, hook them and then chase the one with DS and still get hit with DS. Then the devs go and use the same reasoning to nerf pop. I don't blame killers for being mad but I do think it's dumb to say survivor bias.
Ps that's not what whataboutism is. Ppl really need to learn what that word means instead of just throwing it around.

But I been in games that's longer than 30 mins where me and another survivor eventually completed the last 2 gens between the 2 of us and both of successfully escaped.
But if game ends than we would of never gotten the opportunity to finish the game. Me, other survivor, and the killer actively participated in normal gameplay. But we hid a lot. It was a epic game.
The killer probably got so bored that they didn't really care too much that you'd escape.
-
Just make it apart of the lore. If 30 minutes pass, then daylight happens and everyone dies. Dead by daylight. U can at most black pip and you keep your points.
-
Ppl don't even get the joke lol.
-
At this point, I think killers will purposefully tunnel whenever there is no obsession cuz there is usually almost always an obsession in games. I don't think I'm explaining it well. It's like doing something because you can when you normally aren't allowed to.
-
Ouch that's a big investment. Hopefully the price drops quickly where you live.
I'm not even considering buying a ps5 when the price is about 8 days minimum wage (after tax). I'd prefer to just buy a better PC.
-
I've been thinking that too. That MMR was secretly back on but I didn't want to be the 1st to say it.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Here on my country the PS5 will come costing more than 5 times the minimum wage, I have no condition to get it on release. I feel bad that we're getting these graphics update and almost no one talks optimization, only vague answers like "we're currently looking into it". Not that the graphical reworks are bad, but these were not what we've been asking...
What does more than 5 times minimum wage mean? Hourly? Monthly? Yearly?

it's cause it's his cable, he has the same build of laptop and we only have one, and because i'm a nice guy who respects his dad i only use it if he doesn't need to, the laptop has a battery of 12 hours though so i ain't all that annoyed by it
Is that a 12 hour battery life with gaming, idle or minor usage? If it's a 12 hour battery life with gaming then what the hell kind of Monster do you have?
-
Then u run into the problem of are the minigames too hard, too easy, too distracting or just plain take away from the horror atmosphere. It'll be a nightmare to balance.
There's also the fact that ppl need to figure out what the hell they're supposed to do for the mini game b4 the time runs out. The fact that they only get 1 try to figure it out b4 it pops and a different mini game may pop up as the next one could really mess with ppl, especially new players. That's the reason why ruin was nerfed anyways. I've seen every Among us player struggle a little bit on figuring out what to do and most of them struggled a lot on 1 or 2 tasks. If you say that the mini games would be a little bit harder than the among us tasks then ppl are going to struggle a lot more than you're making it out to be.
Another problem with this is that Dbd doesn't have a color blind mode and for whatever reason hasn't put one in even though its been asked for, while among us added one in for their mini games.
Finally, I don't think this addresses the killer side's concerns and would only serve to piss off the survivor side.

That's cuz the stats aren't from a collection of games. They're only recorded when a challenge is completed.

I think the OP is talking about being the killer... I guess terrifying the killer would be interesting.

wot? Me being concerned about a poorly designed perk isn't a one-sided thing. Anything messing with survivor speed shouldn't be implemented with prejudice, and the same goes with any Killer perk that increases speed (I think NOED is dumb).
Because it's not as strong as you're making it out to be. The perk causes survivors to have to move as a group. The larger the group the worse it is for survivors cuz chances are they're going to get each other killed. Even looping with 2 survivors increases the chances of being caught out like crazy, especially since they need to try to remain within 16m. Then there's the fact that you are pressuring 2 or more survivors at once. Doubling the amount of survivors confined to 16m of each other just quadruples the ability to make mistakes. U can't get 2 pairs of 2 using the perk. U get a group of 2, 3 or 4 stuck within 16 m of each other and only after taking the time to have heals.
Now I'm sure that out of 100 games you'll find like 1 game where survivors had the RNG tiles aline so they can loop and the survivors are good enough to truly abuse it but that's a worse case scenario. Even then chances are they'll screw it up eventually.

They frequently say that games with DCs arent counted towards stats. I find it hard to believe that they would just 180 that here.
If the stats for games with "gens completed" and "kills" is anyway accurate I can only hope these stats are VERY different to games where no rift is open.
And IF the stats given ARE very different to those for when the Rift is closed then its obvious that the Archives have been very detrimental to the health of the game.
Read what the devs said on what the stats represent.

Anytime you use the word “Idea” in the title of your post, it gets moved to the “Feedback and Suggestions” area.
I have seen posts like yours that haven’t been moved; some have actually gotten pinned by mods in General Discussions section. Not sure what all goes into that process.
More forumees frequent the Discussions area, so you may not get the best response waay over in this desolate realm.
Pretty good ideas, for what you deem as “dumb”... got a kick out of them.
Nice effort!
Oops... Well hopefully the devs won't take any of these too seriously.

It's cuz these stats tell us nothing other than solo queue sucks ( that's what it tells me at least) and even that is iffy. These stats look like lifetime stats to me cuz DBD isn't big enough to have so many matches when u consider the fact that it takes 5 players to get a match. If it is lifetime stats then they're useless.

Yeah... Ppl like u are why they should never release stats. Even when I agree with some of your posts. U make me want to just prove u wrong.
There's a few things that don't matter about those numbers. U don't know what those numbers include, what systems they're from or anything really but none of that even matters. The most important fact is that those stats are probably lifetime stats. Lifetime stats don't matter at all to the current balance of the game. U could have a 50 percent escape rates right now and you'll still never ever see a 50 percent escape rate in the life time stats.
-
I can see these stats being accurate. Anyone who plays this game can see it. The sheer amount of brain dead solo queue players out there is insane. They can't even die slowly. They gotta screw over the team by suiciding on hook cuz you don't instantly teleport next to them the moment coast is clear.
-
What's next? Remove DC penalties cuz we shouldn't force people to play in matches they don't want to?
-

I'm pretty sure the low FOV is there to make the Blight feel a lot better when he is Rushing from object to object. Small crates and barrels would feel pretty strange to bump into if his FOV was higher up imo.
It's probably this reason. I'm guessing BHVR will just make blight shorter.
-
It's not that they can't earn respect. It's that survivors hold killers to a much much higher standard. A respected killer needs to be able to stall a game out for as long as possible without using a strong killer, strong (crutch) perks, paying any attention (camping) to hooks, any form of tunneling, slugging, any other tactic that might seem scummy (3 gen, blood warden, etc), playing unfairly, and finally they always go for 12 hooks.
Meanwhile, killers seem to "respect" anyone that can loop for 20 seconds without overusing pallets or fall for the 1st mind game. It's easy to lose that respect but low standards guys... Real low standards.
-
I think this is a pretty awful way to balance the game. The perks exist to enhance or strengthen things that players find weak. Making perks to counter perks that are used to counter problems just sound like you're piling things on a bad foundation. Then if you change one perk you have to change a chain of other perks. Why not just improve other perks and stop being so scared to make things interesting.
-
If you play solo you must find enjoyment in wondering what the hell is everyone doing in this game.
