  • Lol to the noed + undying. Remove the undying and chances are nobody would do enough bones anyways. Waste of a perk imo.

  • Afk Wraith farming.

Are you comparing being actually honestly hurt in real life to forgetting about a change in a video game? Uncool.

No I'm saying that life is full of things that you'll forget about (some more important than others) but it doesn't mean you're not allowed to complain about things. Kinda like how you're complaining about the morality of what I said instead of the content of what I said instead of actually addressing it, even though you'll forget about this in a day or 2.

  • I don't think the devs really mean they want to keep the game frustrating. I always assumed that the devs meant that they want to keep it tension filled and suspenseful. The devs are French Canadian so maybe there's a bit of a language/cultural barrier there.

It's just the way they do it tends to be frustrating, like they leave in the struggle mechanic for hooks.

  • What's the point of complaining about anything then? You'll forget it all eventually anyways. If some1 slaps you in the face, knocks your phone to the ground and kicks you, you'll probably forget it within a month too.

Ok, my mistake. I should have elaborated further.

If you wouldn’t put racist, sexist, homophobic, anything else illegal or discriminatory on your resume/CV, it shouldn’t go on other publicly viewed media, such as a gaming profile.

U know u should just remove the resume/CV part and just say I don't think people should be putting x, y and z. Then we agree to disagree cuz I said that I don't really care about it even though I wouldn't personally do it. As for what qualifies as racist/homophobic/sexist/etc that's another headache to deal with. Then there's the idea of banning vulgarity. There's a reason why I mentioned furries b4. I'd prefer to ban anything mentioning them and their fetishes but I also know that it wouldn't be fair to force my views on people.

I mean if it’s ok to be that public about it when not knowing what age or background other people reading that are, then I suppose it’s cool to put it in a job application...?

The way I see it, with online gaming being a PUBLIC space, if you wouldn’t put it in your resume/CV, don’t put it in your gaming profile.

U wouldn't put theclownisking in your resume/CV either... If we're going by that judging metric there's going to be very few interesting usernames.

  • I say there are lines that shouldn't

That example is at the lighter end of the spectrum of what I’m talking about, and probably wouldn’t take issue with it myself (more out of being naive by not even thinking about it being a black character that’s also a black Smith).

But I’m talking about things like profile names like “I like killing (insert offensive name for black people)” or “suck my big (you know what)” Just blatantly horrible inappropriate things.

I don't particularly care about what people name themselves. I personally don't think they should be naming themselves I like killing X group but banning it or not isn't going to prevent them from killing that group if they're telling the truth lol. However, the suck my big __ one is fine. I don't see any real reason to be offended about that one. If they're that open to having their sexual urges announced to the world, let them. No different from ppl announcing they're furries or have a foot fetish in their profile names.

the only thing i care about is FUN in every game. its not about escaping or looping a killer for 5 gens.

but when i repair 3-4 gens on average every game there is something wrong and how can sitting just on gens be fun? or how can getting looped be fun every match? this isnt what i see as fun. i wanna do gens, go for hooks, search for chest etc

but i need to play optimal every match to get people out. because i noticed when im not doing the objective nobody is doing it. and all the other stuff i mentioned is also not fun (hitboxes, servers etc etc)

yeah playing against swf on comms isnt fun, i know how it feels, i play both sides. but you cant just balance everything around these people, or you implement a ingame voice com and balance everything around swf.

and about having a challenge.. yes thats is pretty nice, i also love challenges. i grow up with the souls games and i love it when something is challenging. but again.. getting facecamped, tunneled, morid after the first hook.. that is not a challenge for me its just a boring thing to go against. and getting every game poatoes is just exhausting. maybe i just need to leave this game after 4 years and need to look for something else.

I'll tell you this right now... Voice comms with randoms don't solve much and it never will cuz matchmaking is broken. No amount of voice comms will solve anything until DBD has a healthy player pool of varying skill levels and a match making system to support it.

  • That's why people suggest putting them in a separate queue with other ppl that DC/lag out frequently. That separate queue will also have less priority so faster queue times for ppl who don't DC.

  • Couldn't you just open the gate yourself as killer now?

  • It's not that bad... New ruin hasn't been much of a problem. Most of the time ppl passively looked for ruin but it was never a big thing to go after like old ruin. Undying + ruin barely does anything if u play around it a little. Ppl are throwing matches by overfocusing on ruin again cuz of undying and I'm really getting tired of it in game and on the forums.

There's only 1 killer and you're telling me that 1 killer with undying can apply all the pressure against gens, totems and ppl that are hooked? Why do they even need undying + ruin at that point when they'd probably dominate just applying pressure to gens only? You're telling me you seriously think that you need tourney levels of SWF to deal with it or gen rush through it? I don't really want to say it but that's some survivor main BS and that's coming from a survivor main. U just need a slightly competent solo queue group. And for the solo queue groups below that... We probably wouldn't have survived anyways.

Then there's the people saying that the combo forces people to just do gens, which is a boring playstyle... What did you do in matches that don't have a hex totem in it? I can tell you that people rarely touched bones. The game must've really sucked then. I'm honestly not sure what some solo queue survivors do but if it forces them to actually do something for the team in a game, I think that's a buff.

I appreciate it, looks like I don't stay up to date enough with the developer updates. I apologize for the redundant pointless post then!

Little salty on my end and jumped the gun. I hope to see some good improvements. :) On either side I hate using those items and meta perks, and know people hate going against them. Glad to know it's being addressed.

Uh how long ago did they say that it'll be reworked? I honestly don't remember.

So u are giving free aura reading to make 3 gen doc's more impossible to face? If it bothers u so much just use Whispers.

I doubt it would make a difference. The doc isn't going to leave the 3 gen to go on a chase anyway.

  • @Madmanslime said:

I don't think the issue is with huntresses lullaby, more skill checks in general. DBD is a mechanically heavy game which can take a lot of skill to learn, but practice always pays off. That's why the existence of a challenge that relies solely on reaction time runs counter to the games intent (the reaction speed your born with is the reaction speed you have, there's very little to change it) and might piss people off.

People develop their reaction time. They aren't just born with it or else we'd all be stuck with a reaction time of toddlers. Of course there are periods of life where your reaction time will develop faster and if you don't work at it your reaction time will drop off.

  • Haven't noticed a change as a survivor. My guess is that PS4 players have gone to play genshin impact, which were mostly survivors.

  • There are still options for a crossplay SWF to communicate with each other. Bhvr won't even give solo queue this for the same platform so I'll doubt they'll do it for cross play (although I don't really want it for solo queue cuz I've played enough multiplayer to realize what that causes).

  • I think they're asking for a hardcore competitive mode, in addition to the normal game. The only problem with this is that it'll spilt the player base. I'm not sure there's enough players for this.

  • I'm really confused about posts like these... I play solo survivor and undying doesn't seem to be that crazy. Of course you still get those dumb games where your team does stupid things cuz of undying but it l honestly just assume that they'd have screwed it up anyway.

My eyes are bleeding from seeing all the “tHaNa WaS nErFeD!!” claims.

Has everybody forgotten that Thana is DESIGNED around encouraging/tricking survivors into healing more frequently?!

We need to go back to understand Nurse, and all 3 of her perks. As absurdly powerful as Blinks are, its indisputable that Nurse will have a much easier time hitting stationary targets with Blinks rather than moving targets.

Enter Stridor & A Nurses Calling. Stridor to better triangulate where a survivor is hiding behind obstructions, and A Nurses Calling for a ridiculously easy Blink target. And now for a way to greatly incentivise survivors to actually prioritise healing so that Nurse can set up those easier Blink targets. Thanatophobia. The global debuff was never meant to be oppressive enough that it’s purpose was to directly slow down gens. It was just meant to be enough of a nuisance to survivors that they heal to get rid of it. It’s through more regular healing that game stall for the killer is achieved through this perk, and shorter chases when used in conjunction with A Nurses Calling.

The problem with the devs having stubbornly stuck with this idea of Thana have a global debuff is that it backed them into a corner by having to be very conservative with the percentages. The higher that number gets, the less likely Thana is going to achieve its intended outcome: getting survivors healing, and the killer more frequently catching survivors out in a compromised position. Killers, you can’t have one perk have increased percentages to slow gens down longer AND keep survivors injured longer at no additional compromise, other than simply equipping this ONE perk and doing something you’re already going to be doing anyway: injuring survivors. That just goes to show you don’t care about balance at all. If you want to commit your strategy to keeping survivors injured in conjunction with Thana’s other debuffs, you need to compromise more perk slots to that with either Coulrophobia, Sloppy, or Forced Penance. Deal with it!

This recent change to Thana in regards to gen slow down is redundant. It doesn’t matter if it’s 5% per survivor, 10%, or 15%. Survivors are not meant to just be putting up with the debuff, except where they simply have no choice to because they’re not near teammates and cannot heal themselves. What DOES matter is that healing (where immediately available to injured survivors) will be way more attractive now that they’re aware Thana has no direct healing debuff. It’s your job as killer to CAPITALISE on this behaviour, and adjust your load out and strategy accordingly.

If your using Thana as a gen slow down perk, you’re playing the game wrong.

What you said isn't mutually exclusive. It could both be nerfed and moved towards an intended effect.

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

Yeah, I feel like they are pretty fair right now, they ######### up and were extremely survivor biased in the past, but now they are doing well, and their game is balanced.

I don't think they were extremely survivor biased in the past. I think they just made lots of mistakes LoL. Also, somethings are easier to fix/tweak than others.

  • Overall, I think it says nothing and adds even less to conversations to talk about survivors bias (and killer bias) but it pops up everytime the devs do buffs/nerfs to one side. It's fine to talk about the fact that you think DS is equally deserving of a nerf as Pop but bringing up the bias stuff derails things. It's only there to make people feel better about themselves.

Either way, I don't think it matters if some1 says it. It just ruins their own arguments by saying something that doesn't really mean anything or change minds.

  • I dunno if this is true or not but I remember reading that the wiggle mechanic was introduced cuz the killer would just drag survivors to the basement everytime.

  • I think the best thing to do is to just add a # of gens finished requirement compared to # of survivors alive. Same thing that keys have. That or a minimum number of hooks.

  • Just remove the spirit speed and I think it'll be really strong but manageable.

  • The ability to put pallets back up should be base kit... It's kinda ridiculous that it isn't.

It'll be rarely used anyway. Most of the time strong pallets will just be broken on the spot. Even if it isn't, putting the pallet back requires a survivor to waste time heading there before the killer does.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1652124#Comment_1652124

I don't think you understand how Thanatophobia works. Every Survivor receives a stackable 5% penalty to gens for each Survivor that is Injured, Dying, or Hooked. If all four Survivors are injured, then each Survivor has a 20% speed penalty to doing gens, which means a Survivor is doing a gen 20% slower.

This is how you know I don't play killer.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1652081#Comment_1652081

Well, we now that Thana now gives a 5% debuff, so now we know that it'd be 20% slower gens.

It's still not 20% slower gens... It's 5% even on 4 survivors. Care to explain how your logic makes any sense?

Let's make things easy and say it takes 1 survivor to do a gen in 100 seconds. Therefore, 5% increase would mean it would take 105 seconds. Now let's say u have 4 survivors working on 4 gens at the same time. All 4 gens finish at 100 seconds when uninjured and if they're uninterrupted by a killer. If they were all injured then all 4 gens pop at 105 seconds. However if it was a 20% slow down you'd expect them to all finish at 120 seconds.

Now let's imagine that the survivors are dumb and only do 1 gen at a time. So 5 gens would be done in 500 seconds while we're still using the 100 second rule. Add a 5% increase on all gens and u get 105*5 = 525 = 500* 1.05. Oh wait still only a 5% increase?

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1647874#Comment_1647874

6% means that if everyone is injured, gens are going 24% slower. That is significant.

    That's not 24% slower gens...

  • I hope the next survivor is a single cell organism. It's the best representative for solo queue.

  • @BigTimeGamer said:

Huntress: can pull hatchet at pallet to try for a free hit, Survivor can keep running if they think you are going to pull- Mindgame/Outplay potential on both sides

PH: Do either and you get hit

there is a clear difference, the changes sound good for the game

I think you're missing the point of the post... It's not about having to keep the power as is. It's that PH is too weak with what he has. I think PH needs a whole rework. If they buff his ranged too much than it's another Deathslinger or Huntress. Leave it as is then he's an M1 killer with cages. His range attack will only be good as a noob killer or if they get lucky.

  • It could just as easily be a lul that you're reacting too quickly and you should wait for the ptb.

  • Or you could use his power normally and realize that it sucks. The devs could reduce the cooldown after using it to 0 and it would still be awful. Maybe it'll feel better to use but I don't play PH so I dunno but what I do know is that it's super easy to deal with a PH who doesn't zone. There's a reason why people call any PH not zoning a noob PH. Maybe ppl forgot what the PHs were like when he first came out? U have to screw up pretty hard to get hit by his power.

  • @Smoker101 said:

Just make it if they are tormented they are one shot by his ability. Now people will always want to use his ability.

But then all you've made is an oppressive noob killer. Against the average player it won't do much.

  • I wouldn't say they fixed PH. I'd say he is poorly designed and removing the only thing that made him strong still makes him poorly designed. PH needs a mini rework or even a full one.

Honestly, we should be able to sue devs for selling dlc and then nerfing it into the ground (not that I even play killer let alone PH). Balancing sure but nerfing it into the ground? There's a reason why any PH using his power normally was considered to be a noob PH. I'm sure they'll fix him eventually but eventually shouldn't cut it for paid dlc.

  • I am offended that you call whatever goes on in these forums s-posts. That's an insult to s-posting and you know it.

  • @EntitledMyersMain said:

  • It sucks that they got tunneled but your story sounds off. How did they tunnel, camp and get three hooks. Then get 31k. It sounds like you farmed the person on the hook.

  • Personally, I think pop is fine where it is. It's not like the killer is going to be able to use it at 100% efficiency all the time. A lot of what you wrote only talks about an absolutely optimal line up of circumstances where the killer can always go to a gen that can be popped for the most value without losing out on other opportunities. I think the only killer that can even use pop to somewhere close to that degree is Freddy but even he has to consider the cost of teleporting to a gen that might be far away from any survivors. U might have a better argument if a killer could control a match so that with optimal play they could use pop to that degree of efficiency but it's not something a killer can really control.

  • The original definition of tunneling was simply u tunnel vision one survivor all game or until their death. Now its meaning has expanded so much that it generally just means overcommiting to a chase or not giving an injured/previously hooked survivor a fair chance of survival. What's fair is up to debate.

  • Honestly, these forums taught me a valuable lesson about comms. They're not worth it lol.

  • U do realize is that all u said is that as a survivor your individual skill matters less. That doesn't imply killer is easier.

  • @tactic said:

Some loops and structures have multiple variations where some vaults & pallets don’t exist.

    why? Because yes

Why? Because it adds a little variety to the game.

  • The game would bug out and explode. There's just too much stuff that are clearly coded for 1 killer and 4 survivors. The spaghetti code is the one reason I assume that they never put in more game modes cuz they'd have to essentially rewrite so much of it to get things working that they might as well make a new game.

  • Are we seriously going down the road of perks that counter perks that counter perks? Personally I think this would be a bit too strong. It's not hard to lose a killer during chase for a second if you know what you're doing and pallet stunning the killer isn't too difficult either.

Also, I'm starting to get real sick of this victim mentality that everyone has in the forums. Just cuz someone says no, argues with you or calls you X main or baby doesn't mean they're attacking you or sending you hate mail. At most it's annoying cause they sometimes get spammy.

    @SamuraiDragon27 said:

I usually am one to give advice on changes, but this is a SERIOUSLY bad idea dude. What if someone has Sprint burst? then they can just zip around the corner, escape a chase, and for 30 seconds basically have speed hacks. Or how about balenced? that was nerfed so that it's lack of fall stumble couldn't be abused. You add this, that little haddonfeild window becomes an infinite for the next 30 seconds. I do enjoy the idea of a perk negating exhaustion, but this is just unfair on every level. Once again, I don't usually complain, but this is an EXTREMELY op perk that would be unhealthy for the game in all aspects. (edit) or even worse, Infinite deadhards. exhaustion is there to make sure stuff like this doesn't happen, and even then, exhaustion add ons are a gamble of whether they'll be useful or not. Usually killers just run add ons that will make up for their powers shortcomings

U misread. They can't spam the ability for 30 seconds. They just have 30 seconds to use the ability again.

  • I think when killers say gen rush they generally mean the survivors are pressuring gens too much that they're feeling way too stressed. So a match can last for 18 minutes with the killer running left and right trying to pressure the gens and they'll still call it gen rushing. Whether or not they are doing their job well enough or have the right perks to deal with it is another matter.

It's like ppl complaining about tunneling/camping. A good chunk of the time if you follow the original hard definitions of tunneling/camping then the killers aren't really tunneling/camping. What survivors are really saying is that they don't feel that the killers are giving them a fair chance.

  • I don't see how this will help against SWF in the situation you're talking about. If they know about it they'll just use that info against you. All it does is hit every other survivor.

  • I get the point you're trying to make. Just a few nitpicks. Survivors aren't playing survival horror (game genre definition). Killer is kinda a hunter simulator. Not really... I think a closer game would be a horror themed cops and robbers with special rules. Killer are cops and survivor are robbers.

  • The devs finally decided that this game wasn't really a horror so they removed the terror radius.

He must retain some form of intelligence, and he's definitely the smartest killer, but the combination of the serum and the Entity means he's not exactly smart, particularly in trials. I think it's actually rather fitting; his own ambition is what caused him to lose the thing he held dear, and what used to help others now hurts them instead. He was driven mad with his own lust for knowledge and in the end he lost it all.
