I don't understand these rankings of killers.

Sure I understand that Nurse, Spirit and Hillbilly (in that order) are the top 3 killers but I also see people play really well with killers like Ghostface, Clown etc at red rank.

To me, I don't care about the strength of a killer, I care about the fun factor, that's why I main Billy and Clown when I do play killer.

I don't know why but they're fun to me. I wish every killer player was like this 😔

Well, then I wish you luck and fun with your killers and that not a nerf comes along, that robs you of it. I have also very often play the Clown, but I got never warm with him.

When I think on fun, then I think more on my matches with the pre patch Legion, Meyers and the Trapper. But as always, different people have different likes ;) :).

Fun is for me also very important. Most of the fun I had was while I was chasing someone, but let me not lie, sometimes a win is also great for having fun.

So, I don't mind buffs for the 13 other killers. I think as a consequence, bhvr would also add then stronger perks for survivors.

Yep, can't believe killers are still finding ######### to complain about

Killers get also nerfs on a regular bases.

Sure, they call it not everytime a nerf - sometimes a rework - but still, - a nerf is a nerf. No matter how something gots called.

If you guys really like to have strong perks, then the game needs also strong killers and that is currently not the case (we have currently 3 killers that are "accepted" as being strong*, from 16**).

*With strong I mean, good enough, so that the major part of their playerbase can reach and stay with them at the red ranks.

**And yes, I know, some would say there is not 1 strong killer, or that all killers are too strong, but I talk here from the average opinion I have read in those forums.

TL:DR Both sides carrying the burden of getting nerfs.

  • Imo, the survivors in the game are open for tips, if you have a friendly endgame chat.

Use this opportunity to give them some, if you think they are open for it.

Should you have a toxic one, you can of course forget to say anything. They wouldn't listen to you.

    @DemonDaddy

  • As a killer main who hates flashlights :P, I just say to you: Play on the way it makes fun for you.

Every game has aspects, that you will hate, but if you are lucky, you find something you like.

Don't let that taken from you, just because some guys are toxic.

In exchange, the killer mains that complain about you, will maybe enjoy some other game mechanic that others hate. The only "help" is to focus on your own personal fun. When others then have also fun, its perfect but if not, then not.

    There's a rating system? Where?

The 4 or 5 circles right above the endmatch screen.

The more circles you click on, the more it counts as a fun match if I remember correctly.

Not being able to down someone with Feral Frenzy is very much so intentional. Since you can vault pallets and windows like a survivor, being able to down them with Feral Frenzy as well was (and always will be, as long as it's possible) overkill. It turned chases into wait for power > use power > repeat- there was no skill involved, you didn't need to outplay the other person, you just ran out the clock until you got a guaranteed down.

Blood and scratch marks not appearing is also very intentional. Since your power is non-lethal, the intent is to show you people who don't have deep wounds, not those that do. Using your power against someone who is already injured is silly, you cannot down them with your power.

It's not likely that the Legion will receive a full rework. A rework would require completely changing their power (like Freddy). We do have some changes we'd like to make, but there is no exact date for them just yet. We'll squeeze them in once we can.

    Can't wait for the changes.

Throw this missing hits penalty finally overboard. Also reduce the stun after frenzy and speed up the vault speed of the Legion.

Also frenzy should be shorter, like in the days back then, because it was important in the past to suggest for Legion players speed.

1 of the reason's why I had never use Franks Mixtape was because the frenzy time was with Franks Mixtape to long (the old addon). The longer the duration of frenzy is, the more boring it gets.

On the flipsite - the shorter it is and the more impactful it is in this time - the more fun makes it.

The same can I now say of the frenzy duration of the new Legion. The duration is to long and has no real impact on the game since deep wounds is nothing that a red rank survivor is worried about.

That is a double on the boring score.

Imo, be brave devs. You had 1 time a very good design for a new type of killer. Go a bit back in the past and take some features of the old Legion in the world of today and you will also have something for people that look for more as a standard m1 killer.

The goal should be imo, that the people can have fun again with the Legion and that she is again innovative.

That is at least something that a lot of people who have main the Legion, would like to see, I guess.

  • @PickCollins said:

If you advocate for any of old legions mechanics to return, then you're opinion is unpopular and wrong.

For example, missing frenzy stabs SHOULD cancel frenzy (for counterplay purposes), Legion should not see blood for anti Tunnelling purposes, and you should never be able to use frenzy to down a survivor.

Old Legion was basically a badly designed Nurse rework and thank God it's gone. Is he undertuned? Perhaps, but mechanics went out the door for him for a specific and good reason. Keep them out.

I doubt that my opinion is unpopular and she is to 100% not wrong.

I had in my endgame chats many survivors that were happy to play against the Legion and I have see many Legion mains that were happy with the pre patch Legion.

And I highly assume that I have met in my endgame chats more survivors as we would find in the nerf threads here. Especially if we talk about the nerf threads in the steam forums, since some Legion haters have push there, their opinion with namechanging tactics.

Luckily for me, I could watch them, because everytime they changed their names, there names got also changed in old forum threads and I just needed to look then in a old thread, if I have a new forum member for me, or a name changer and let us say... Some have really try to push negative comments with the help of name changing nearly every day. I have even make with one of those guys a joke about that in the steam forums.

Besides the design of the pre patch Legion was nearly perfect. They have just 3 errors made. 2 have lead to exploits. 1 to op addons. All 3 of those things should not happen.

And sorry... If you were 1 of the survivors, that have found no counterplay against the pre patch Legion without addons, then you was just bad at it. It's a fact. Tutorial videos on YouTube show that there was counterplay.

Of course not against Legion's with op addons, but not every Legion has run around with those, so don't treat all of us, as would have everyone use them.

Besides. A character should make fun for the guy who is playing this character and did you really think it makes "fun", to be stunned just because you or a survivor has struggeld with a lag?

Did you think it makes fun to have a castrated special abilitie? Did you think all those drawbacks on frenzy make fun?

There is a reason why devs in other games usually do everything in their force, to build no drawbacks in, or to let drawbacks not look like drawbacks, because they make no fun for the guy who is playing their game.

The current Legion is not innotative and she makes no fun for people that have exactly look out for a killer like the pre patch Legion. Most of them have even join dbd just because of this killer.

  • As pre patch Legion:

-The one time were I had a really newbie group for me. They have made everything wrong, someone could do wrong against the Legion.

Have me feel like a shark between some fishes that have just waited for getting eaten :)

But I am also happy that I had just 1 time the situation were survivors have really ignore every counterplay. Everyone of them in every secound. Would be boring if that would have been in the majority of my matches.

-Then a 1v1 from the start on, because 3 have dc in the loading screen and a match against a 2swf+2 solo survivors. Were the funniest games for me and I had a long and happy talk with them in the endgame chat, besides 1 of the solo survivors - he was mad at me that I have kill him, but the other 3 have talk him down.

    Survivor - Red

Killer - Anywhere from purple to red depending on how much I play killer that season.

Besides one exception and the obvious (literal cheating like lagswitching) I mostly find people getting incredibly hostile in post-game chat to be the only truly toxic thing. In-match actions are a big "whatever" to me, but if people feel the need to say straight up bannable ######### in chat because they can't contain their rage then yeah, they should probably get a forced break for both their own good and the good of the people they play with and against.

The exception is people that hold long-term "grudges". I find it incredibly petty and I guess "toxic". Myself I have some guy that hardcore tunnels + proxy camps me with an ivory mori every game I get them because according to them I tunneled them back in February this year. I might have done so even though I generally don't tunnel unless the alternative is ignoring the only survivor I see and it happens to be a recently unhooked one, but jesus christ dude 😄

So, you have someone who always thinks on you?

It's time that dbd gets a love song as chase music :).

  • Uff... I had only play 1 killer very often and 4 less. So my list is maybe a bit boring.

Pre patch Legion: Either Julie's default Skin, or one of Susie's.

    Meyers: Default Skin :)

    Trapper: Default Skin :|

    Clown: Default Skin :/

    Nurse: Default Skin :(

But to my defence... I had plan to buy a Skin for Julie (the slightly brighter Skin to her default outfit) and for the Clown (the green one). So I had good intentions :), but then the Legion patch had happened and well... Then I had see no reason anymore to buy skins.

  • Aw you are right. My mistake. Have forget it about the rest.

Survivor could mostly annoy me with the extensive use of flashlights.

Killers could annoy me most with... Mhm... I don't know... Well with choosing Meyers I guess. But this was not the fault of Meyers, it was just so that I have meet him more as every other killer and sometimes I had wish, that I got a bit more variety as 60/40 of 100%, of my survivor games, or what ever it feeled for me was.

    @Azurlynx

Edit: And yes, I know the counter to flashlights. Still, they can be annoyance in certain situations, but I would nothing call from it toxic, besides flashlights in very rar situations.

Edit²: You see, I am a very calm person^^. It's hard to enrage me :).

    Hmmm

Not what I was expecting to see, but I can relate.

    Gl with dailys :)

What did you have expect to see? :)

After the first rank reset, I guess, was just my spirit gone to go again in higher ranks. Besides I still got my games against red ranks. Don't know if the matchmaking is still the same, but to the time I had play it was the case and I have found that ok.

It was just another reason, not to rank up. Because why rank up, if you get already everything on lower ranks?

  • Uhm I don't remember my highest killer rank. It is a long time ago. I guess it was something around 4, or 6.

The point is, after a rank reset, I had just play for fun and had let the most survivor go. So even with hundrets of game after that, I had thanks to my behavior only stay at rank 15 mostly. Sometimes it was a bit more, then again 15 and so on...

My highest Survivor rank was 9. My survivors I had play less for fun and mainly for looking how the survivor game play is. So that I could use this knoweldge to play better mindgames with survs and so on and also because of the dailies I had got (feeled I got always bombed with either surv, or nurse dailies for what ever reason).

Me and my dailie luck ->

dbd: Play survivor and survive a match.

me: Damned dbd, I am a Killer - Legion main. Recognize my main PLOX! *takes a new card*

dbd: Safe 3 survivors from a hook

me: quieter voice Thanks dbd :|

  • Well. Easy 11k points. Congrats to that.

They are the type of players that just deserve a "lol". Still, I hope they are not the harbinger of nerf thread opening kids^^.

Fun fact: I had never destroy a survivor team more as trapper, as on this map.^^

Just put the traps in looping-corridors where survs can't much move around and behind windows. So then they vault, that this sweet sound appears :).

Edit: It was not a swf group, far as I remember. Just 4 together in being solos o_o.

Ghostface requires you to use your eyes. Nightmare with pallets requires you to use your brain and memory. Meanwhile Legion required you to press one button.

Mhm... And where is that different from doing anything other in this game?

Some people act here always as would we playing games in an esl league, while we in reality have either play, or play a game that has for the most characters just 1-2 buttons.

As someone who has play very serious Starcraft Boordwar and World of Warcraft in the past, I can just head shake to comments like that (not esl format, but still more as I guess the average players).

Edit: We should be happy, that dbd is a game, where players can easilie adapt - if they like. You don't need here to play 8-10/day to be in the higher ranks. I would not like to have those days back at least.

  • Killers: Julie.

    Survivors: Kate and Claudette.

  • Addon ones buffs are only short sighted buffs and will not help at all, if the addons are not so op, as some addons of the old Legion.

The abilities of the Legion need a rework. Best would be, if they would do 2 patches:

-Patch 1 should bring the Legion back as she once was, just without the exploits and op addons (please without them, I don't need a second survivor Legion-nerf thread wave).

-Patch 2 should go further and adjust the Legion to set her in a viable spot for their major playerbase (without turning her into a m1 killer ->again<-).

Imo it should be go on this way. We Legion's could life with patch 1 for some time until they are ready for patch 2 and some survivors would finaly see that the Legion was not that dangerous.

Not the same thing. In those aforementioned topics, the majority of people agreed with them. Most people wanted those changes. Look at the responses in the nerf Billy topics that pop up. Most people are saying hell no to the idea of nerfing him.

I have my doubts, that we can talk here from "most", if we understand under "most", 100% of the playerbase.

I have make some experiences with survivors ingame and also heard some opinions from survivor ingame, that I have not read in this rate, on the forums and I would bet that we find more survivors who have never visit the dbd forums, as survivors in those forums.

Same also goes for killer players, I guess.

The point is... Don't think that the "most" people like to see something nerfed, just because the guys write here a nerf thread about the same topic, over and over again.

The survivors I have meet in the game as example, were not so whiney (mostly) as the ones I have meet here (don't take that please offensive, it is just meant to be a neutral information).

Killer complain about gen tapping. Lvl 18-20 survivors have a very bad experience at the beginning, when killers are like gods.

And because rank 18-20 survivors, all killers should be easilie loopable for those survivors?

That would not even like the survivor community, I assume, or did someone really think that a rank 1 survivor likes to get every win just because of a killer nerf before?

That would be no win at all. Just abusing a nerf patch (almost).

people hated legion and nothing will ever change that

    1) - Some people hated the Legion (but in exchange they have do it with passion).

    2) - We don't care :P.

  • Ahm... Runs something not incredible wrong, if survivors "love" to face a killer?

Survivor 1: Ah look, it's killer X. I love to play against him!

Survivor 2: But he will try to kill us.

    Survivor 1: I don't care *wave*!

Edit: Sorry for the combobreaker, but I needed to say this :).

  • The Legion Tag^^.

Then the general, killer, cosplay, artwork mostly and sometimes the survivor and balance forums.

  • The real Legion's just wait for the day were they got their power back and until then we stay as terrifying story, that survivors tell in cold nights at their campfires^^.

It will for sure take some time, but the knifes are already sharpened :).

  • Well, the partie is just one time^^. 1 time something different, to all that running, gen repairing, chasing, entity torturing and so on...

But when you like to repair gens... I heard there is a shift of a fellow Legion that starts in 2 days at 10pm-6am and we have a gen direct in our home... smiles diabolic

    @Chaddad2169

Edit: Also a nice pic. Guess you guys visit often something like Devian Art?

  • When I read some comments here, from survivors and killers, I guess I can be call myself lucky that I have stop playing after the Legion patch.

Sure, I had also meet toxic people, but the most people I had met have use that emotes to tell me something. Guess they are mostly gone now.

I have feel me in hundrets of games just 2 times "offended". In both cases I was already in a bad mood before I joined a match and in both cases, I had facecamp the guy I was angry at.

1 time, the survivor had die, 1 time he had survive it, thanks to his friends from the swf group that all rushed his hook to the same time with second chances perks :|.

  • As I had play 2-4 games on maybe 20.

Mainly to get rid of dailies. Even I had start with it, to understand survivors better as a killer. Still after that, the damn dailies had keep coming to me, thanks to the dailie survivor cards^^.

No I was it never. After my experience, the most time, survivor have it anyways use to "speak" with the killer. In a 2v1 farming match as example, or where a afk survivor is, or that I should come to give them 1 last hit before they go through the gates and so on.

Currently survivor side is a complete joke and a waste of time if you want to play solo. You have to rely on people who most of the time have no idea how to play the game and you have no means to communicate which adds to the frustration. Even with increased BPS gain on survivor side survivors are not still rewarded enough for poor matches like killers are. Most people play killer that is why que times are so long. On top of that all the nerfs to survivors did not balance the game properly but gimped the gameplay on survivor side which has made the game even more clunky and frustrating.

Killers have also got their nerfs. Some of them even too much and more will maybe come.

Also the matches can also be unbalanced for killers. You proving the thread starters point here, since I assume that the thread starter understands that he will never be free of one sided postings, if not everyone frees himself from that.

Imo, this forum forces you to make a choice. Especially, if you like to talk about something that is very important for you, because on the opposit site are always enough people that try to troll you, or they just didn't know it better and that means, you have to bite back, or they will talk you down with some random kiddo arguments -_-.

  • Well I wouldn't let my fun ruined by that. Just be happy about the match and that is enough :).

  • Matches like that are the best matches^^.

    @GrootDude

Trying to get sneaky in, to get some beer before all the others can, eh? I see what you try there^^

  • Ptb's are important. Usually. Depends on how much the devs are inclined to listen.

In the best case, they ensure that less bugs come in the game and less exploits and that everything is more balanced and so on (after what I have read here in the Forums is Ghostface a good example for that, because they have make him stronger and then nerf him a bit, far as I have read it).

In the worst case, the testers play only on the ptb for the new content and write nothing about it, so that the devs still have no new informations and/or, the devs ignore what got written (something they have definitely do by the Legion patch, since the steam and dbd forums had also many postings that the nerf was to strong, besides the usually nerf cryers).

Still, ptbs are usually good and necessary for every game.

  • @Chaddad2169

Nah... That had not come in my mind :).

  • Not really, but I had also got a ton of the cornfield maps, no matter which killer I had play.

Guess that the corn maps are also very popular by the survivors and they maybe pushing those maps with the map choice sacrifices for it.

But that is just a assumption.

come on, the Legion is a gang of teen criminals, like a wolf pack. There might be the Alpha couple, but the four are held together by their immense craving for violence and abandon, not any romantic relationship.

You are right with your assumption, I guess and you are not, imo.

    But let me explain:

First, I don't see the Legion as teens anymore. I see them as young adults. No matter if we look at the Legion with american laws, or the laws from my country (in my country you are a adult with 18, in the usa it is with 21 I believe).

The reason for that is, because the Legion story starts with Frank being 19, but if you read the story, a lot has happened after the first paragraph's of the Legion story and all what had happened to them need time (nothing you can do in a day, or week). Imo, I think they were 20-21 by the time the entity catched them.

Then they have move into the realm of the entity. I assume, that was no problem for Frank at all, since he has followed the path into the realm of the entity because of his own curiosity, but the rest of the Legion has only move forward to find Frank.

Yes, I assume they are "happy" now, because they can kill without being worried that some law enforces knock on their doors, but I guess that at least the majority of the Legion is also worried that there is no way out.

I think they living the extrems by now. Extremely thrilled by the hunt and because of the killing, but also somehow frightend that they will never see the real world again (most likely).

And with that in mind, I assume that their situation has make their bond just stronger. Not on an sexual way, but I guess sometimes as example: Joey just needs someone he can talk with about the situation they are in when they got to many time for thinking, between all their killing (and I assume he moves then to Susie, or dirctley to everyone of them).

I may interpret too much into the situation of the Legion, but I have always thought so.

The tragic murderers, who do what they want on one side, while on the other hand, they know that they are just a tool that will probably never again lead a life as they did before, on their wild parties in the Legion house.

  • They have never tell what exactly Joey and Susie are far as I remember, but I guess Joey and Susie are a pair.

When we think on the situation, the Legion is in and what choices are avaible for Joey... Only Susie is left since Frank and Julie are already a pair.

Btw... Julie my girl^^. Take your Franks and Joeys. I stay by her :O) (why the song "Stand by me" comes now in my head? Damn... sometimes I am weird - Imagine a Legion is singing that in the woods :D).

Really why clown can shut down so many loops and doesn’t have to rely on ruin to set up the game tell me IYO why you think clown is low

Because in the few times I had play the Trapper, I could control some loop spots thanks to his traps.

The Clown abilitie is for sure also helpful by loops, but when you have loops with los it could start very tricky for the Clown, or at least for me while I was playing the Clown.

I had this problem not with the Trapper, because in those loops I had lay my traps.

But maybe this is, because I had never got warm with the Clown, even after many games. With the Trapper on the other hand, I had more succes as with the Clown and this even with less played matches as with the Clown.

  • Imo, I would change the position of the Clown with the Trapper.

  • Imo, Legion pre patch was really fun without addons.

Todays Legion is no fun at all. No matter if you play with, or without addons.

Nothing is left from the feeling, to be a fast moving and stabbing killer.

I have honestly stop playing the Legion (and dbd) on the patchday, after a few testruns. I don't waste my time with the mess, the Legion is today and wait for a undone in parts, or if it is unavoidable in complete, of the Legion patch before I play the game again.

  • It's always good if someone find fun on something again.

Still, sometimes I questioning me, what you guys are doing to get ->always<- toxic endgame chats.

A few people are always toxic, no matter what happened in a match, but after my experience are the most people either silent, or friendly.

I was in the past a pre patch Legion main. If we go after some people in this forum, my endgame chats should usually be full of toxicity, but no... Had friendly guys mainly, or silent ones...

So... did you guys always facecamp, or what? :)

Can remember the 2 times where I have facecamp someone. The endgame chat after this 2 times was really... "special". Still it was hilarious for me at this situation^^.

To your question @DoomOrb : Well, not exactly, but it sounds like a bit similar to them. A difference should be there, but that could something for further discussions, if that idea ever gets picked up by the devs.

i thought of making more hiding spots with diferent advantages and disadvantages like:

if found in this you do not get grabbed(get hit instead),your aura can be read, youre not completely hidden

    or:

fast-getting in this doesnt make noise, your breathing is a bit louder in it...etc you get it

    Sounds also interesting.

  • @Gorgonia

I am a simpel guy. After they have do justice to the Legion and what they have did to her, I will not complain again.

I don't care which survivor's/perks/addon's/killers/game mechanic's are allegedly or maybe really op.

I just wanna have fun. It is simple as that.

And yes, you can nail me in the future on this posting, should the devs finaly do something really good for the Legion (not just addon fixes, basekit fixes). I promise you, if I like also what they have do then to the Legion, you won't ever read something negative from me again^^.
