I miss the old and dark DBD from when i first started playing and would love to see what new coldwind and ormond would look like under some moonlight.

Found some stuff other people have made that looked cool.

Damn, that is pretty dope looking.
Would absolutely love for BHVR to make nighttime variants of Coldwind, Ormond and Eyrie (Boneyard)

i really love this changes but i would revert the botany knowledge changes 😅 its very broken to heal yourself in 6 seconds with a medkit

Hmm, where do you get 6 seconds from?
As far as I know, Botany gives you normal self-healing speed (100%) instead of 66%. So, instead of spending 24 seconds to heal yourself, you slash it down to 16 seconds, and since there are no other perks that specifically buff self-healing with a medkit, I'd say it is fair to change Botany into what is proposed on the PTB.
Removing that efficiency debuff that could only be countered with Streetwise is a nice QoL for a very under-used perk.

  • Gave him a try myself, and he seems really well balanced. Definitely has counterplay to his kit, and strong in his own right.
I like how much each add-on changed how his power works and so on.

  • Playing against Nemesis on high ping (over 100 ms) is not fun at all. There is almost no chance of dodging his tentacle.

  • Great idea, and it is something I wish they can implement through a setting.
That way, we don't have to use Nightlight to get the correct rarity colors

Thank goodness I haven't seen them running shadow too much..

I saw one Legion with Shadow, paired up with a Nurse.
That was a very hard match.

Yeah I’ve been having fun on both sides. Escape Rate on survivor is pretty high for us. Less than a handful combined of bad matches.

Tbf we make a good team.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/Q19FYGPL34H3/image.gif

Good teamwork makes the dream work 😉

  • If you have seen how fast some survivors eat through pallets in 2v8, you would understand why the rebuild thing is there.

  • Been playing some matches on both sides with @HeroLives
We have not had too many bad experiences. Of course, the occasional sandbagger, but we have been having a pretty good escape rate, not gonna lie.

We have encountered several Oni + Legions, but most of them has not been that bad to play against.
Scout class pretty much hard-counters Oni in loops, thanks to the aura read.

  • I wish they would roll it back to the way it was.
There is enough "Fortnitification" in games nowadays 😉

her birds should be adjustable on the vertical axis for aiming purposes, yes.

As someone who used to play her a lot in the past, I agree 100%
She gets hard-countered by any sort of verticality.

  • Personally, I find RPD East Wing to be pretty balanced.
It is the map I am most comfortable with. Might be a hot take, but I think it is the best balanced map currently in the game.

  • @I_Cant_Loop said:

Matchmaking has never worked in this game since SBMM was launched. It’s bad on both survivor and killer side, but seems especially bad on survivor side for me. I’ll escape a bunch of matches and then next few lobbies get paired with literal brand new players (and no it’s not due to lobby backfill). Or I will lose a bunch in a row and then get matched with great teammates. It’s just completely random. On the killer side, I will say the quality of my opponents is more consistent, but I’ll still see lobbies swing from god-like teams to complete potatoes at random.

It has not worked properly since around 2020, before SBMM. First it was the "rainbow ranks" issue, and then it got amplified when SBMM launched.
These days, I have had a much more balanced matchmaking, where I have not been put up against the most sweaty killers when playing survivor, or 4-stacks when playing as the killer.
Most of my games has been pretty enjoyable. However, I have noticed whenever the lobby gets backfilled (i.e. killer has left the lobby and is replaced with another), it tends to get extremely one-sided.

  • Regina and Dylan would be really cool. - With other characters as legendary cosmetics.
And of course, being hunted by a velociraptor. As a killer it makes sense, considering the raptors are agile, intelligent and deadly, and DBD already has creatures for killers, in Demogorgon and Xenomorph.

I mean, it could work, considering Dino Crisis often being referred to as a sister franchise of Resident Evil.
It would need its own map of course, maybe a part of the research facility used in the first Dino Crisis game.

  • True tunneling is to intentionally go for the same person over and over again, until they are out of the game, and ignoring all of the other survivors in the process (a.k.a. tunnel vision).
Soft tunneling on the other hand is like juggling between two survivors at the same time

I run Pebble, Lute, Plot Twist, and a variable fourth perk that's often Mirrored Illusion. I'll never get another match again if this goes live.

I love running Scene Partner on Lisa Garland or Claire Redfield. Really funny to hear them squeking away

  • "The ones who live"
Whatever that is supposed to mean 🤔

Edit: It is referring to "The Walking Dead"

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is an American post-apocalyptic horror drama television miniseries created by Scott M. Gimple, Danai Gurira and Andrew Lincoln for AMC. It is set after the conclusion of the original The Walking Dead series, with Lincoln, Gurira and Pollyanna McIntosh reprising their roles, and is the overall seventh television series in The Walking Dead franchise.
  • I saw the map is probably going to be located within the Withered Isle realm (looked very similar to Greenville)

    Stacking 9th Anniversary cake x9999.

It's going to take a lot more BP to do this now, considering the blunder done to rarities.
Apparently event offerings are now classified as "visceral" even though they should be the same as a common offering - Visceral (ultra-rare) offerings cost 5000 BP.
Pretty sure it will affect event offering spawns in the bloodweb as well, since ultra rares spawn very infrequently. I do hope this is an oversight that is going to get patched, otherwise, we are going to have a miserable event this year.

  • @TieBreaker said:

Tweaking Nurse and Blight hasn't really impacted their strength too much. I think the devs should try using a new system to help balance out the cast. Something like reduced or extended perk slots. Killers like Nurse and Blight get two or three, and killers like Trapper and Myers get six or something.

I think it's time the devs try something new to achieve killer balance.

    How about no.
If you want to balance the stronger killers, then maybe disabling their ability to use aura-reading while in their power would make more sense. We know that Nurse makes very good use of aura-reading perks, so maybe starting there just to test the water could work out.

  • Survivor here. Not that my looks are the best, I would be a more mild-mannered jack of all trades kinda guy, who is also very compassionate and loyal.

    Perks:

    Level-Headed

"Years of gaming and tech-tinkering has taught me a thing or two about being patient and opportunistic."

Whenever you are inside the Killer's terror radius, you repair generators 8/10/12% faster, but you also have a 25% higher chance of triggering skill-checks. Additionally, the skill-check indicator moves 15/20/25% faster.

"Easy now. That's it, this is how we get it done" - TCH

    Masterful Craftsman

"Knowing how to work wood is a great skill. You have learned this art from years of tinkering with things."

You start the match with 2 tokens (No refilling).
Spend 1 token while next to a breakable wall to create a temporary vaulting window. This action takes 16/15/14 seconds.
Alternatively, spend 1 token near a destroyed pallet to rebuild the pallet. This action takes 12/11/10 seconds.
Additionally, if you have a Toolbox equipped, you can spend 6 charges to speed up these actions by 40%

"Wonder what fancy stuff we could build from this pile of scrap wood?" - TCH

    True Friendship

"Having friends in your life could mean a lot, but to you, only the true friends will stay with you until the end of time"

Spending time with other survivors (through cooperative actions or within a 16-meter radius) builds a friendship buff with the closest survivor to you - This takes 80/70/60 seconds to complete. Once this status bar reach 100%, you and your friend gain a permanent buff for the rest of the trial (showing a heart around their portrait), and you can always see eachother's auras, regardless of distance.
Any time when you or your friend gets hooked, you and your friend gain a stackable bonus of 15% to all altruistic action speeds (unhooking, healing and mending) up to a maximum of 60%. Also, taking a protection hit for your friend within 10 seconds of unhooking them will instantly heal them for one health state (This effect is disabled in the end-game).

"Friendship can mean a lot, but you have to pick your friends wisely, because only true friends will stand up for you, the same way you stand up for them" - TCH

  • Custom icons are not bannable as far as I know.

I don’t understand the reason for aligning rarity colors with other games.
Isn’t it more common for each game to have its own rarity color scheme?
It's said to be a UX standard, but as someone who often plays Japanese games, the new rarity colors feel out of place to me. In many Japanese games, the typical order is white < bronze < silver < gold < rainbow, and so on.
Maybe they wanted to use yellow (a gold-like color) for event items, but I personally preferred the original color scheme.
    I don’t think it’s a de facto standard worth abandoning a game’s uniqueness for.
And if the goal is to improve UX for colorblind players, placing blue and purple next to each other might not be the most helpful choice.

For Counter-Strike, they went this route:
    Common (consumer-grade) - Gray/silver
    Uncommon (industrial-grade) - Light blue
    Rare (Mil-spec grade) - Blue
Rare + (Restricted grade) - Purple
Very Rare (Classified grade) - Pink
Ultra Rare (Covert grade) - Red
    Contraband (banned designs) - Gold

Definitely a unique color grading system, and I don't see why DBD could not keep its unique colors.

  • This is actually not a bad idea.
I would actually like this as an option instead of the "killer surrenders" option.

  • @SoGo said:

First of all, I really, REALLY hate the new colors they did for the normal 5 tiers. They are confusing for both old AND new players (because people will still use the term yellow medkit and everyone will get confused), they are ANTI-ACCESIBILITY (worse for colorblind people), and completely unnecessary, given they were changed to "make the game more like other games". Why? Why do the Devs want this game to be as devoid of personality as possible? Don't fix what's not broken.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/C4GP7VKNDD9C/sn-c3-admka-obrazovky-2025-05-06-175351.png

On top of that, they removed the Event rarity, so now Event items are ULTRA RARE! And they cost 5000 BP now! These mostly useless offerings that majority of people ignores, now cost as much as an Iri add-on. That is unacceptable.

Next up, the Rift. It was made way uglier now, with small icons that you need a microscope to see well, and the "BUY PREMIUM!" button slapped in the middle. It looks like a cheap mobile free-to-play game.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/CC934QUBXS6U/sn-c3-admka-obrazovky-2025-05-06-175318.png

Another thing is, unless I miscounted, the premium track no longer gives you back a 1000 Auric Cells, but only 975. Again, why?

Next up, the Quests. One word, GENERIC. The name is generic (it should be Rituals), the look is boring and generic, the challenges themselves are all really boring, and they want to also retire the Compendium on top of that? My opinion is, no, keep the old Tomes. And maybe add some more unique challenges into the new system too.

And finally, we come to the fact that the Rift was made unbelievably grindy, with the Daily Rituals giving you NOTHING. Barely any bloodpoints (even though the ones before gave you at LEAST 30000 for each one), not enough Rift Fragments for A SINGLE TIER. It's also yet another FOMO feature, since someone found out you have to do almost 40 days worth of the Daily Challenges alongside everything else to get to Tier 100. And that's not even mentioning the Weekly Rift Challenges (in a case they disappear too, I'm not sure of that tbh).

Overall, this update was yet another shove towards DbD becoming a joke of a game, like Fortnite, which the Devs seem to aspire to become for some reason.

100% agreeing with you. This patch (aside from Orela herself) was a major step backwards.
And don't get me started on the "quests" that hand you a measly TEN (10) iridescent shards.

  • It does make sense for her to be quieter though.
She is a lot like Ace in that regard, and I don't hear many complaints about him.

  • @Grigerbest said:

Ahh… I don't know what's the issue, tbf… The skin icons looks cool as heck, perk and addon icons are whatever…

I think we can live through it and get used to it, right? RIGHT?!

    Wrong!
We will keep shouting until they hear us 😉
I feel like DBD lost a lot of its identity in this patch.

  • I agree, it was completely unnecessary.
I had to look twice or even thrice at the bloodweb before getting the nodes, so that I didn't accidentally miss party streamers.
No idea why BHVR changed this to begin with, since the rarity colors has been the same since version 1.0

I do however like the differentiating of the top-tier skin rarities, depending on how much it changes.
But the new "name" (huge void) "rarity" on perk/skin descriptions really rubs me the wrong way.
It looked so much better before.

  • @I_Cant_Loop said:

I agree with most of this. Croatia Prenn Chapel is definitely not “balanced though”. As @Daniel_Silva04 said, one of the strongest main buildings in the game and the jungle gym next to shack. That’s definitely at least slightly survivor-sided, if not very survivor-sided.

Hawkins needs to just go away (again). Miserable map for killers and survivors alike.

I always found the Disturbed ward map to be more survivor-sided than the Chapel, but it beats me.. I guess everyone has had different experiences on the different maps.
Or maybe I got the two mixed up. Anyways, I should have made a category for bad overall maps, and put Hawkins in it.
Now that I think of it, it DOES suck from time to time, depending on door-RNG.

  • @TicTac said:

Rpd is highly survivor-sided, but only if the survivor know what they are doing. So RPD without a map offering fairly balanced, with one almost unwinnable.

The key in RPD is prerunning, it wastes too much time. There are only a few killer, who can deal with it. Also some killer can make camping a hook really strong when they lock down the middle.

3 genning works with killers like Singularity, but other killer need uncoordinated survivor.

I find the east wing to be fairly balanced, but the west wing can skew slightly killer sided. At least that is how I feel my own games has been going.
Besides, I giggle a lot when survivors send me to RPD when I play killer, because I know how to play around the pre-running.
All you need to do is to not waste time in long chases, and keep pressure on the main room.

I didn't play a single game of Victim in my first few months of playing DBD, until I found out there's a once-per-day EXP incentive to do so.

Now I play Victim once per day, and occasionally when there's something ridiculous like 100%+ BP bonus for Victims.
Perhaps this is the same reason they play Victim, because they want EXP or easy BP.

You have been playing too much TCM :D
    they are called "survivors" here

  • I am very against these changes. Don't fix what ain't broken.
And the correct rarity colors will always be: Brown → Yellow → Green → Purple → Red

  • It won't be horrible killer-sided, especially if the killer itself is randomized too

  • As far as I know, only the tombstone piece poses a real problem.
The full tombstone has drawbacks, and takes twice as long to fully stalk. It also makes you a lot slower.

  • @IronKnight55 said:

Yeah, I can't imagine it being popular among survivor players, so they better give a very good reason to play survivor in that game mode. Lol.

Survivors would probably need strong abilities. But the mode itself would be epic, and quite terrifying.
Also, a keybind to look over your shoulder while running (maybe use the ALT key for this), would be necessary.

  • In my case, what I would keep from the old DBD was the lighting and the atmosphere of the maps. Bring back the heavy fog, the dense corn and nighttime Coldwind.

    @DragonMasterDarren said:

Reminder of what 2017 DBD was like

Nurse could have 5 blinks, and had no cooldown

Haddonfield was still in its release version

Old Dead Hard was a thing

No basekit BT or anticamp metre so Bubba could just face camp you to death with ######### all you can do about it

Ruin still affected skillchecks and made playing matches with new players more of a nightmare then usual

Survivors could fast vault just by holding shift next to a window

Huntress could have 3 Iri head hatchets at once

    Adrenaline affected Freddy’s power

Trapper’s power could still be completely disabled because sabotage still broke traps

Wraith could be completely shut down by flashlights because Lightburn was still a thing

I really do wish people would stop going “DBD was better back in the old days” when the old days were full of busted and unfun bullshit

The game has only ever improved as a whole with age, wanting to go back to a time where the game was less balanced and less polished is ridiculous

Don't forget pallet vacuum as well.
There were so many broken things in old DBD, but not all the things of old were bad either.

    • Ranks, and matchmaking that took this into account. (Before mid-2020 somewhere at least).
    • Medkits with different effects, not just a dull speed increase.
    • Loops outside of main structures were stronger. With so many good anti-loop killers in the game now, I think some of the old loops would make sense to implement back. Not the god-awful long-walls and infinites though.
    • The old survivor animations.

  • Another solution would be to lock out Epic accounts from the general player pool, and force the crossplay option to always be off for them.
It sucks for those who play legit on Epic, but that is the only real option to combat cheating, thanks to the hundreds of thousands of free accounts that were made when this was available.
Granted, there are cheaters on the Steam version as well, but it is not as widespread as it is on Epic, since the game has never been free on Steam.

Back at it again after the Blood Moon event has come to an end. It is crazy going from 400-500k a game to only 20-40k. I need the anniversary event to come fast because the regular bp gains are horrid

I think the Blood Moon event served as a good indicator that the base BP gains are a little low.
At least I got 14 prestiges on Sable, and a few more on other characters during this last week

  • I second this.
I have been asking for a true randomizer mode (like where you spin a wheel of fortune), where items/add-ons and everything is random. Note: offferings should not be random, but map offerings, moris and basement/hatch spawn offerings should be restricted.
Have the killers and survivors be randomized too. That would actually be kinda fun, and a good way to learn different killers.

Thank you all & good luck on your own prestige journeys regardless if its your first p100 or oh I don't know your 10th? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Fun fact if I added tge prestige levels of all my survivors & killers together I'd have enough levels for 8 p100 & a 9th less than 20 levels off! But it was always going to be Meg! & almost certainly Kate next, I like sable but I see too many & Nea has grown on me over the years but I think Kate takes it! We'll see as long as it doesn't take another 8 years!

When I am done with Sable, I might do Meg, Nea or Feng, as they are the second highest group in my roster (between P13 and P15). As for killer, I am slowly working my way up with Doc.
Hope we don't have to wait too long until the next big BP event though. I probably got around 25 prestiges worth of points from the games I played

Because the Houndmaster had a similar mechanic, which actually kept survivors in long enough to attack again, the community complained, and the exit gate block got cut down, so you get a injure at best.

And with Kaneki, they just went straight to making it so you can't possibly trap survivors in.

They did the same with Wesker as well.

Same here. I am always bringing mine as well.

  • SBMM itself isn't the problem. It does work as intended, but the problem stems from backfilling of lobbies, where the algorithm does not take SBMM into account, and turns it into a free-for-all, where players from any skill level may show up, expect for the protected bracket.
