My issues with her:
Ambush - It's SUUUPER situational, usually only works on pallets that are not very strong to begin with, requires the Survivor to make a mistake to get hit, and is largely beaten by just dropping the pallet early
Traps - Good players can just continue working on gens until their timer starts, and how long it stalls that player out for you is a complete roll of the die. Sometimes you get good stall, sometimes you get bad stall.
Stealth - She is very slow when crouched and requires two different perks just to mitigate that weakness (Whispers and Monitor & Abuse)
To put it simply, though she has tools for many different situations, none of them are actually consistently GOOD at those situations.
-
I use all three.

I tunnel the person that had it in the lobby. Idc what happens to everyone else
I mean that make sure that the person who has the key in the lobby is the best runner.

No. Tunneling. Doesnt counter the key, its a mindgame so the key user doesnt want to bring it again. Especially if it happens everytine they do
The counter to that counterplay is to give the key to the best runner on the team to draw the Killer into a long chase. ;)

If they don't change they achievement then the addon is here to stay.
Is the achievement 100% impossible to achieve without the Tombstone add-ons?
-
Your changes to the RBT are basically:
-Tampered Timer basekit
-RSN2 basekit
-Face Mask basekit
-Slow-Release Toxin sort of base kit
-Can't leave the trial at all while wearing any RBT but does not start the timer during the endgame
I can't say that I'm a fan of any of these changes because they make Trap kills way too consistent, promote tunneling (otherwise, what would be the point of a Trap giving the Exhausted status effect) and for the last change, you are making it super easy to hold the game hostage for griefing Killers by just not killing the last trapped Survivor and never closing the Hatch. Face Mask base kit I feel makes the experience a bit toooo miserable for solos while doing nothing against SWF.
Crouch changes I mostly like; I just think 15 seconds is way too long of a post-crouch Undetectable if all you have to do is crouch and uncrouch. I think you should have to stay crouched for a certain amount of time for a smaller post-crouch bonus.
Increasing the ambush dash time I am unsure how to feel about. Could be good; could be OP. Switching the cooldowns of successful and missed Ambush attacks I approve of.

Myers is an old killer and certain design choices are obsolete. He's due an add-on pass and TPiece will probably get the axe. I guess they'll leave Judith's because of Evil Incarnate, but ad annoying as that one is it's not ad problematic.
They better not keep Judith's Tombstone, considering that it's a trash add-on.

The "hold the game hostage" situation can be remedied by improving the AFK crow system. Beyond that, the Hatch (but not keys) is fine as-is.

I've gotten a prompt each day so far.
Perhaps it adds the others without telling you? Is your IS count way higher?
I have not been getting that prompt.
I don't remember what my total was before. I'll keep track between today and tomorrow and get back to you on that.

Everyday you get 1k or a few k's.
If you missed any, they said you can get all of them later anyway.
Is it something that would give a notification prompt every time you log in? Because I've been logging in almost every day, but I only got a message telling me I got 1000 shards + a bunch of bloodpoints the first time I tried to log in during this whole thing.

To me, when someone is saying "I'll DC every game that isn't fun," I begin to question who the culprit is.

I won't play any differently from how I normally do. I won't actively try to deny you the crown, but I won't intentionally not go for a 4k either.

Getting downed. Get an item put on your head. Arbitrary mechanic that can be modified significantly with no information communicated. Can't get it off because you get tunnelled by a bad killer. Great starting experience. It's something that only works on new players too. It's like people running sweaty skill check Doctor builds. Only works on new players that can't handle skill checks or console players with frame rate issues.
Then improve as a new player? Learn. Keep playing. Keep improving.

So this game is "balanced" as a swf vs a killer so all arguments about survivor sidedness only apply to swf not brain dead solo queue. Also, some of the most prevalent killer mains in this community have said recently that there is a certain pig combo of addons that needs something done about it because it will kill at least 1 person in a game without you doing anything past giving them their first hat and is unbalanced. Otzdarva literally has a whole video on why its broken and needs adjustment and he's better than 99% of the killer mains that post on this forum.
I certainly enjoy Otzdarva, but I fully stand by the opinion that Timer + Crate does not result in nearly as many Trap kills as suggested. It will certainly result in more Trap kills than if you don't use those add-ons (which is the point of Tampered Timer), but a Trap kill is still far from a guarantee in my experiences using the combination.

Pig is an extremely boring and unfair killer for new people playing the game. Most of the time people get their first trap and are then tunnelled out of the game. She should be limited to force you to go to three boxes max.
The solution to improving the new player experience should not come at the expense of the overall game balance.

I don't, personally, but I guess those two perks have SOME chance to do SOMETHING. I don't think Wraith's perks do anything that is remotely worth a perk slot.

I'd say it's between Wraith, Huntress, and Freddy. I'm proooobably leaning toward Wraith, personally?

See what i mean? too arbitrary. A dev or mod needs to come out and specify the exact number of seconds i'm allowed to bodyblock for otherwise it isn't clear. You can't make rules (or laws for that matter) based on subjectivity.
It's not arbitrary. Actively and intentionally screwing over your teammate is a reportable offense, regardless of how long it takes to do so.
-
@Reinami said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2314078#Comment_2314078
Ah ok, so if i set it up so that i body block them for the entire game but they get 1 extra second where if they beeline the exit gate they can escape it is cool?
Nope, that is still too long. It just so happens that getting them killed as a result is pretty much an automatic "grounds for being reported."
-
@Reinami said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2314032#Comment_2314032
Make them define it. How long is too long? How many seconds/minutes does it take before it becomes taking the game hostage? This is why the only definition that should matter is "can the game end" everything else is too arbitrary
Long enough to get them killed is a pretty reliable measuring stick, going by OP's scenario.
-
@Reinami said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2314022#Comment_2314022
Body blocking is not reportable. What is reportable is "taking the game hostage" which is defined as "the action you are taking makes it impossible for the game to end"
If you body block a single survivor, the other ones can still do the gens and leave, so you aren't "taking the game hostage"
Sandbagging a fellow Survivor is 100% reportable, though.

And if only bad Killers use Bloodlust, why were the Forums full of complaints during this one weekend where it was disabled? Are you saying that most of the Forum Killers are bad at playing Killer? :O
I mean, most players in game are bad from my experiences. It would stand to reason that most forum-goers are bad too.

@Aneurysm said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2313180#Comment_2313180
They can't, consoles are strict about that stuff. It's why when they nerfed nurse there still had to be a way to use 3 blinks, when they nerf keys they'll still have to be able to allow all four survivors escape the trial with it, if they wanted to nerf huntress they could do pretty much whatever they wanted but except reduce her range that much because 24+ metre hits still have to be possible, all because of achievements. Even if they could change them, a lot of them are difficult and/or time consuming and people who went for them won't be impressed.
Do we actually have a source for this? I've heard people say this, but I find it hard to believe that the devs would not be allowed to change the achievement on a particular platform if they make it outright unobtainable for one reason or another.
-
Not really sure this video needed its own thread.

Not TOO long ago, I had a teammate intentionally lead the Killer to me and refused to heal me off the ground while they started farming with the Killer. The Survivor admitted that they did it because they were mad that I didn't heal one of their SWF teammates because I was trying to finish a gen that was almost done first.

If even 3 out of every 5 people preferred/mained survivor, match making would quickly break. The only solution I see is to make killer weaker so people are guided to playing survivor. If you have some alternate logic that explains how to fill this deficit, by all means
The game being balanced does not inherently mean that there won't be enough Survivor players. It just means that the people going for their their preferred roles won't be as likely to leave.
You fill the deficit by providing bonus rewards to whichever side is lacking in players. Not enough Killers? Play more Killer to get extra bonus rewards. Not enough Survivors? Play more Survivor to get extra bonus rewards.
-
@vvumper said:

4 times as many survivor players need to be found per game. If there are 1000 games starting at once, you'd need 4k survivors and 1k killers at that particular moment. If both sides were as easy/fair to play as one another, wouldn't there be an unmeetable demand for survivors?
No?
-
@vvumper said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2307886#Comment_2307886
No, I don't believe I have this wrong.
Because in-game balance must always account that 4 times as many people need to play on one team than the other. Which means that the team which has the more people, survivor, must be more appealing to 4 out of 5 people in order to keep match making healthy. The conclusion is that killer must then be slightly weaker in order to make that a reality.
Here's the problem with this logic: You need both sides in order to play the game. It doesn't matter that there are four Survivors for every one Killer because if either side decides that they don't want to play, then you have long wait times that's going to upset the side that DOES want to play. If you make too many Killers leave, you end up with too many Survivors stuck in long queue times. The same applies vice versa. You need to keep things as balanced as possible for BOTH sides so that as few people as possible from either side stops playing out of frustration.

I go by Identity V standards. 3k = Killer win, 1k = Survivors win, 2k = Draw

You still gain a benefit for using them. Yes, there's something that penalizes you, but you still get something back.
Field Combat Manual gives you no benefit at all. I'd rather have something that trades off your benefit than something that doesn't benefit you at all.
The penalty you get from these is greater than the benefit and overall make your character WEAKER. That is worse than an add-on that effectively does nothing.
-
Can you even name a single worse add-on in the game?
Amanda's Secret, Waterlogged Shoe, almost every single add-on that inflicts a self-imposed penalty in exchange for Bloodpoints. All off the top of my head.
-
Well, whoever's running that Twitter account is about to be doing anything but.
-
The Survivor that was aiding the Killer can definitely be reported because they were actively working to help the Killer take down someone else. I would argue the Killer can also be nailed for this too if they're not actively trying to go after the first Survivor.
The one hiding I would say does not have a case to be reported because the Killer and other Survivor are equally responsible for drawing the game out by hunting for the hiding Survivor together instead of doing anything else.
-
If memory serves correctly, Exit Gate blockers only pop up as someone who can't escape approaches the Exit.

Is English your first language? Do you routinely use phrases like 'hot garbage' about other things in your life? Do you criticize your friends and family like this?\ I don't know... I think of the people working on this game as other human beings who deserve a level of respect, I guess? Maybe I'm just in a weird mood today.
To me, if a game feels that bad, I move on to another. Sure, feedback is valuable, but when you're posting the 100th 'dur hurr the anniversary event will be trash' thread, you maybe should move on.
Remember: Games are products put out by a company. The quality of a product is very indicative of the quality of work the employees are putting out.

Using your example, why shouldn’t you be losing to someone who puts in more hours? If you were able to go toe to toe with someone who has put in more time and win, that would tell me something is very wrong with the game. You aren’t entitled to win because you own the game. People who play more than you will be better. It’s common sense.

Okay then, you want a discussion but start the post in an offensive way with a nice ad hominem to everyone who does not agree with the OP. Also you straight up rule out that it could be the fault of the survivor and say that the other side does not listen to statistics.
Please tell me which statistic you are talking about.
Also tell me what is the expectation you have for a Killer? How many hooks / kills should a Killer get or do you measure the perfomance of a Killer in a different way.
We need to get some groundwork done before we can discuss this topic.

A bit weird for those people to be playing a game whose entire premise revolves around being trapped as a prisoner in an eternal cycle of abuse.

Kill rates are a terrible way to balance of even judge the balance in this game.
The pip condition for survivors is achievable even without escaping. The pip system for killers is not achievable without killing survivors.
Escaping is just a bonus while kills are mandatory.
I have had so many games as killer or survivor where survivors do all gens with everyone alive and then throw it all away to save one guy instead of leaving.
Seems to me like the scoring system as far as pips is fairly screwed up, then. :P

Are you seriously using among us as an example jeez. Well if you think 1 hook is a win just because the devs state it is then that's stupid. And 2 kills still means 2-10 hooks, once again that's a clear difference. You cant have 2 hooks be a win as well as 10. That's why hooks is better as it shows more of what happened.
What's wrong with using Among Us as an example?
Also, I never said that I believed one hook was a win.
