I hope you are joking, cause if so, that rly is a bad joke.
Nope. DS should not be usable during the last leg of the game IMO, but I think buffing it as compensation if they remove that is fine.
-
Make it non-functional once the last gen is finished and I'd be fine with it. I'd even support buffing it from there.
-
What Does That Mean? First of all, be aware that if you are listed as having two or three types (such as Johnny / Spike), your most prominent type is listed first. Now that you’ve taken the test, I’m sure you’re asking questions like what the heck is a Timmy, Johnny, or Spike? Here in Magic R&D our job is create a game that makes players happy. In order to do this, we have to find out what players like about our game. Doing so has been a long ongoing process involving numerous factors. We’ve done questionnaires. We’ve done focus groups. We’ve lurked on Magic web sites and bulletin boards.
Though the article is specifically about Magic: The Gathering, it can be used broadly to explain gamer mentalities.

I never said camping is against the rules, there is such a thing as unsportsmanlike behaviour to the point that its ridiculous. it was clear he didnt play the game to play it, but just to get salty comments on his profile. dont you understand that with those numbers, 686 pages... not comments
Camping does not fall under the list of things you can do to report. You try to report camping as unsportsmanlike, you will not succeed in accomplishing anything even if you provide video evidence.

Survivor: Diversion - Remove the condition of needing to be in the Killer's TR and just have it be a straight cooldown
Killer: Jolt/Surge - No cooldown & no basic attack requirement

I believe that may only apply to dc's
No, because players are explicitly told not to report DCs because the system automatically handles that.

Ok... But legitimately, if a killer had an ability that made one singular generator maybe explode in a survivors face and down them? Would be amazing 😂😂😂
On topic though;
I think they should make it so that after a cool down you can retry the same box again. That way the pig can't bodyblock a box, but in the event the pig isn't doing so, your just kinda wasting time not trying a different one
Currently, the boxes work like a shell game, not like a probability generator. Only one Box will get the Trap off; the other ones will not no matter how many times you can theoretically search them. The closest you can do is make it so if the Pig lingers around "the correct" box for too long, the "correct" box switches places with a different box, but that I think has its own set of issues with potentially revealing the correct box too soon if the Pig by coincidence is lingering around the correct box without realizing it.

I hope your friends reported that person for the DDoS in your place.

Just because you felt it unfair doesn't mean that is the general consensus either, and yes I think it's funny to add 1% chance of dying.
You could add 1% chance of escape too, to balance it.
Fair, but I am fairly confident that far more people are wholly against randomly dying with no input than in favor of it. You are welcome to your opinion, but do not expect it to be remotely popular.

Dying for absolutely no reason is actually funny in party game like this, this is not a sweaty pvp game where you play for win!
Hatch is good thing in this game for same reason, getting a escape for absolutely no reason is funny!
Just because you find it funny does not mean that is the general consensus. That'd be like saying it would be funny if there was a 1% chance that a Survivor dies every time a gen is finished.
-
A lot of people in this thread are overlooking the issue of an extremely swingy RNG mechanic. I would have no problem with kobe-ing if the downside was something that wasn't tied to RNG.

Stupid statement? show off superiority is what you said. And that is exactly OP's point in some way. It is the intention of harrassing, for whatever reason. The equivalence of what you tell the killer by doing this is actually censored in post game chat, just as a side notification
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2776998#Comment_2776998
So you need an explicit depiction like a nude survivor model to actually regard it as harassment? Isn't it the unintended abuse that should be looked at? I mean, why exactly have the bubba masks been removed? Can we repeat that?
You're saying harassment. OP is specifically saying "SEXUAL harassment."

@fulltonon said:
It should be kept as is because it's so ######### funny for either side.
Respectfully disagree. There is nothing funny about being on the receiving end of such a tactic.

Honestly? I do get frustrated, and I've definitely gotten super aggravated before at some mechanic in the game that felt unfair. I have tried, however, to look harder at where I'm making my own mistakes, and usually I find that it's me screwing up something that's the reason when I'm losing. Some "unfair" elements of gameplay are here to stay, and if I use them as a crutch for why my matches end the way they do, I won't get better.
I do understand why people get frustrated (see: current Boil Over issues or SBMM problems). I'm not knocking those people at all -- it's human nature and understandable to do so.
But what happens when it is indeed the game's fault and not just yours? :P
-
What do you do when it is the game, though? :P

I've been a Pig main for like 4 years, I know perfectly well how good her power can be.
I have been a Pig main for several years myself. Her ambush is bad IMO.
-
"My amazing random teammates have opened the gates and aren't leaving."
This here is the problem with your scenario, not the Pig defending the last box. Your not escaping is your teammates' fault.
-
@anarchy753 said:
Still garbage. A decent player can still ambush without it, all it does is means your stalling is halved which absolutely cripples her.
I think you are overestimating how good ambushing normally is when it gets beat by dropping the pallet. It is just not a good anti-loop tool. Plus, you can use an add-on to only lose one RBT in the process.
-
@AnneBonny said:
if the map favors stealth yes, if not absolutely not.
I don't really agree with this anymore. I think the 16 meters is enough that it's not just meme add-on like Mirror Myers. Even the most open levels aren't just flatlands with no obstacles that can block LOS.
-
@AngyKiller said:
Or, if the Pig is afk in front of a jigsaw trap: Use the other boxes. It's basically never going to be ONE box for every Survivor, and the Pig has no way of knowing that one box is ANY Survivor. 🤷
The problem is that it doesn't have to be one box for every Survivor. It just needs to be one box for one Survivor. If the Killer is feeling grief-y, then anyone whose Trap key is in that box has no chance.
-
@Faulds said:
I think that losing 2 traps is still kinda bad. I didn't try the buffed add-on, but i will for sure.
That's why I am using one of the two add-ons that gives her an extra trap so she has three.

The add-on was always 16 meters since its buff like 4 years ago. The effect was always really good. Removing your other powers was really bad though so most people didn't use it. your forced to run jigsaw sketch+Amanda letter to make it not erase your trap power. 3 traps and aura reading is not too bad.
main issue with pig crouch is slow movement. I dislike how they made a crouch movement speed add-on instead of just increasing her crouch movement to normal 115%. its very counter-productive to add-on. your suppose get into chase quicker with add-on but moving so slow like snail is like counter-productive to finding players quickly. For that reason, I think crouch pig is still underpowered among her super lackluster anti-loop that is too easy to counter. I guess its just balanced for rank 20 new players. Too high kill-rate apparently.
Oops, Amanda's Letter was 12 meters originally, not 8. My bad. That said, it was buffed to 16 meters when she got her add-on re-work.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
The Buffs helped. I think the main thing is that this Add On now is actually decent to use on every Map. Before, you were only able to use it on Indoor Maps, because you really had to capitalize on the Aura Read, since it removed not only more Bear Traps, but, more important, half of your Boxes.
On that note, grateful for removal of box penalty. It made the add-on much weaker while also enabling coin-flippy griefing by just standing in front of a box and giving the trapped Survivor 50/50 chance of death.
@Shaped said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2774801#Comment_2774801
Did you used it in the past and how was your experience?
Did you maybe dismissed it because most of the community thinks it is bad?
That is why I usually try things and stick to what works for me.
Only a small number of times, admittedly. I felt, as Aven_Fallen stated above, that the 12m aura reading was not that useful outside of interior maps and that the loss of the RBT gear hurt Pig significantly. Now, the aura reading is pretty real and the RBT downsides can be mostly mitigated with the right add-on.
-
@Shaped said:
I think it was underrated even before and it is probably my favorite add on for pig rn.
I have been slamming for several games, and it makes the ambush actually able to AMBUSH someone. It is honestly making me second-guess my opinions on the add-on the whole time (to an extent, since it WAS buffed).
-
I'd support trying to find a way to make it so Pig can't camp the last box, but I also want some assurance that Survivors can't get the trap off in one search.
I've been thinking about making it so in addition to first box search being auto-fail, they add a fifth box and make the trap guaranteed removed after four searches. That way, the odds of removing the trap are 0% in one box search while still being 25% in two searches ( 5/5 chance of failure * 1/4 chance of success = 1/4 odds of removal), 25% in three searches (5/5 fail * 3/4 fail * 1/3 success = 1/4 odds of removal), and 100% in four searches (since the trap will auto-remove after four searches) while also making it so the Pig will have to find a way to defend TWO boxes after the Survivor fails on the third search.

I feel like the time spent wiggling is less relevant than getting manhandled by survivors. Can't walk out a freaking door without their superior strength sending you cascading across the room. Rofl. Screw Agitation, Iron Grasp is clearly the way to go if you have to pick one.
Use both, plus Mad Grit and Pain Resonance. :P

They tried to remove that tactic and promptly undid that change when it ended up giving the Pig a built-in mini-Whispers.

Maybe I say it's not a buff is because due to no one saying is it worth using then it's not a buff and why should I care then about what I call it "it's not a nerf" fine whatever that's done and over with but that doesn't mean it's a buff either.
That's not how it works. There is objectively zero way you can argue it's not a buff. It's literally in the patch notes.

Is it worth a ######### yes or no? that's all I asked since you can be bothered to answer they why consider it a buff and not just useless tweaking "it adds one trap" ok it does but does it matter if the traps suck that is all I asked after I admitted to saying it wasn't a nerf but since you can't get off that then why bother to keep hounding me about it other than to stroke your sorry excuse of an ego.
I don't care what you asked. I was only correcting your errors. Both about "it's a nerf" and "it's not a buff."

Good for you thanks for never answering my question. Now unless you are not going to keep pulling a Patrick and not answer the question take your bruised ego elsewhere I already admit that calling calling getting "one whole extra useless trap" a nerf is objectively wrong but idc if it doesn't matter why bother calling buff if it is not a buff worth a damn.
Bruised ego? You were the one who has spent all this time trying to validate your incorrect claims. It's called a buff because the numbers were buffed. :P

I'm not you just keep hounding that one thing. I keep saying however is what's the point of defending it being a buff if it isn't worth being called a buff.
I don't have to defend anything. I am objectively right.

Good for you idc since all you care about is how I named a useless update and not if the update is worth a ######### and that's exactly what this conversation was since neither you nor the other has shown me that it's even worth calling it a buff. But I guess much like like the game itself people sure do love false victories so take your useless victory and get over yourself.
It objectively is a buff. If the numbers were improved, it's a buff. There is zero arguing against that fact. Why are you trying to defend a factually wrong claim?

And not saying they are worth a damn makes it irrelevant whether I messed up and called it a nerf or not doesn't matter if the overall utility of it is still bad.
I just care that you falsely stated that Pig was nerfed. I care not about your opinions beyond that.

Yes but I brought it up when I said that apparently that part holds truth and since I have yet to hear your answer I can only say that while I mistook it as a nerf it is a useless buff that doesn't change anything.
All that matters to me is that you were wrong on the nerf thing.

Yes, it is indeed irrelevant to what you asked because I wasn't calling you out on the viability of the add-ons. You are moving on to a topic I didn't engage.

Yes, calling you out on wrongly referring to it as a nerf was 100% the reason I replied to you in the first place. I was calling you out on being blatantly wrong.

Ok so I mistook having more useless stuff is a nerf, but again, why would this be a buff then it's just another useless trap and a slight charge decrease. So instead of a useless nerf it's a useless buff again what does this add.
It's a buff because her add-ons have gotten objectively better. This is not a subjective discussion. You were wrong in your original assertion. Plain and simple.
