  • You have to play dirty to get kills vs good players.

  • That's by design. Survivor sided bias tends to create that.

  • Going by their recent changes to Clown...Maybe halving the percentage of the sketch add ons?

Oh you meant buffs. I don't know...? Make it so they can see scratch marks in frenzy? Probably that and then call it a day.

You killer mains have lost my respect

You're crying over different colored leatherface masks that do... NOTHING

I've play thousands of games over the last two almost three years 100s of Bubbas and I've never seen those masks and you're crying that they are taking them out? Because of the "grind" when people have literally lost they're WHOLE account with every character lvl 50 and they still don't cry as bad.

If you lost your entire account and just take it lying down and didn't complain , I can't say I respect you.

If you actually read and try to analyze what I'm suggesting, you will see that I want clown to get buffed. Clown without add-ons to get buffed, so players don't feel he's only playable with ONE add-on and refuse to play him otherwise. But you can continue to be blind and bitter if you wish.

Why is nerfing the pinky finger a requirement to buff his kit? Here, I improved your idea. Leave the pinky finger alone and buff his kit. I just made a much better suggestion than yours.

  • It turns him into a worse bubba and they're already nerfing him. Imagine needing to demand nerfs of a bottom 5 killer lmao.

  • You need to camp to get kills reliably.

He's right. It's not going to be game breaking. I don't care if it stays, or it's removed. It's not going to do much, and people are just overreacting as usual. Nothing new.

It is a buff and needs to go. Period. The DMS buff will barely exist because it's over blown by people who hate having to adapt. Hopefully it stays and the wiggle buff is removed.

And no matter how you build it the perk is still no where near as strong as survivor perks not nerfed in this update like DH and COH. Which is used by everyone and broken on all survivors. Stop nerfing killers. Learn to adapt. Maybe the queues will improve then.

imagine thinking wiggle buffs are as strong as this unused perk buff lul. its only one second and its very situational considering the fact that hooks will always be right beside you when you pick up someone. the survivor goes to the corner of the map? yeah theres a hook near there too.

Well wiggle buff will be used by every single survivor since it is a base mechanic, so it's a buff to all survivors, where as this is apparently solely a problem on one killer barely anyone plays.

    "It's only 1 second"

Then you have no issue removing the undeserved buff.

Lucky Break was pretty funny. BHVR listened to the majority and nerfed it, but quickly realized it wasn't actually going to summon the apocalypse and reverted the nerf.

I think they only reverted part of the nerf, I think? It was originally proposed as 90 seconds and then was severely nerfed by like half and then later quietly buffed up to 60. It would probably be fine at the old 90, too.

It’s not ever gonna be perfectly balanced and people need to learn to accept that. Maybe some of y’all should just design your own game.

I mean yes others are designing games which is why many people are just waiting for those games. I suggest behavior take lessons.

  • And this is why I always just go hard. No reason to be nice. Just gets you trouble.

  • I have only once ever had a survivor come to my stream to scream what a terrible teammate I was for not dying with him by hook diving to save him vs NOED. That's the only time in 2500 hours. I have had people go pretty far when I am killer though. Spam my chat, get buddies to come in to attack me, send messages to my twitch, make comments on screenshots of unrelated games etc.

may i ask, what addons do you think are worse then ring? enlighten me on your point of view please :)

Tombstone piece is the strongest add on in the game. What other add on lets you just remove a survivor from the game? Don't need to down him, don't need to hook him, nothing. Just get close in tier 3. Bam, instant 3 v 1. Nothing else is that strong, but Myers is garbage tier so it balances out.

yeah that 1 second faster wiggle if you hit every great skill check is really game breaking

If it's nothing then there's no issue with reverting it. A second matters. I have had countless times where an extra second would get me free. It is also abusable due to not actually moving at all like other skill checks, so anyone who doesn't mind cheating a bit (seriously not an issue in this game, right?) can just use a macro to hit every great and just have a permanent lesser wiggle. It also is designed to not be a risk. If you try to hit a great on repair or healing, the great zone is next to the edge so you risk missing the whole thing by going for the great. On this, it's in the middle so there is no risk and no reason to NOT go for it. It is unnecessary, but survivors oddly don't think it needs to be reverted. No, what needs to be dealt with is the only real killer buff in the entire patch lol

If survivors want people to stop calling the devs survivor sided, then they need to stop being survivor sided, because they objectively are. People are complaining about COH and DH, experiments are showing killers need to play scummy to get kills anymore, most killers are entirely unviable etc etc. And to prove to use they are totally unbiased, they give us a patch with a straight up survivor buff (everyone has wiggle so it's a buff to the entire role), nerfs to one of the weakest killers in the game, several other unneeded killer nerfs, and now the only good buff is probably going to be removed due to whining. During a time when killers are quitting and survivor queues are double digits now. If they aren't survivor sided then they are absurdly tone deaf. If killers have tons of issues that need addressing and instead you BUFF SURVIVORS and NERF CLOWN in the patch, expect people to call your devs survivor sided.

I don't know why is everyone so scared of this. Artist is not good face-camping killer, she is basically m1 killer, so 1 for 1 is super easy to do against her, just don't get grabbed.

If you want camp build you can use Corrupt, Deadlock on Bubba or Trickster and you can't even unhook against that and you can't gen rush against that.

People were also assured that Pentimento would be OP, too. And I have legit never seen it used. And on the other side, we had people who were sure the Lucky Break buff was going to break the game, so much that it got nerfed before the buff made it to live fully.

  • I never really understood why the perk doesn't deactivate since it is objectively progressing the game.

Dead Hard is getting a slight nerf in 5.5, in that it shouldn't give fake hits anymore.

Honestly though, I can mostly play around DH. CoH now...ugh.

Are they fixing the problem where it eats powers? Dealing with the false feedback is good but when I saw that change, it didn't answer to me if the power eating issue will be fixed. Because that's my biggest problem with DH right now. That it can be an extra special counter to killers like Twins due to the validation change.

The dev post honestly isn't clear to me on if it will fix that or JUST the blood wiping stuff. Which, while annoying, is no where as bad as just immediately losing Victor due to a validation.

Her difficulty floor is from learning the muscle memory for her power. Her ceiling, and what makes her as strong as she is, is the difficulty in learning how best to apply the power to the map/chase, and for bettering your mindgames and fakes and reads against people that know how to play against Nurse. The ceiling is a relatively slow-growing one, as you continue to meet better and better players and have to better yourself to match.

I still think Blight is a far harder killer to master than her due to needing to memorize the collision of virtually every object in every map. I'd also put Pinhead as more difficult to use despite getting not even a quarter the power Nurse has, which has been a big complaint for Pinhead. Bad reward for the effort needed.

Killer is stressing me a lot lately, more I play killer the more I’m unhappy.

every game I’ve played today (console)

everyone has escaped along that tbagging and clicking the usual even before a gen has popped. Usually doesn’t bother me but today it has.

i main Freddy and play other killers too but today I thought I’d go for platinum on my PS4 I have platinum on my ps5 and I wanted to get Freddy’s trophies again (dlc)

but today it was horrible! I always get put with sweaty survivors as Freddy! I okay him most but I’ve been playing other survivors lately. Usually I just play with no addons or perks when up against constant sweatiness!!

    i just fancy a chill game…

the only chill thing about dbd is survivor 🤣

i have been playing a lot more Survivor.

    many killers out there struggling??

I quit killer a week after Artist launch and apparently won't be returning any time soon since the devs great plan to address killers concerns was to...nerf Nemesis and Clown, and buff survivor wiggle base mechanic (so a straight up role buff) while leaving COH and DH completely untouched. The devs have shown they have some legit issue with people who play killer or something, as their changes often are not asked for by anyone and serve no point but to rile everyone up and upset them. Who asked for a wiggle buff? lol

And the only ONLY meaningful killer buff in this patch is likely not even going to make it lol why on Earth would I play a role that, if you play to win and not to lose, you'll be attacked and insulted? Address toxicity and balance issues and we'll talk. Until then, I'd rather wait in a 10 minute queue while tabbed elsewhere. At least if I get tunneled out of a match as survivor, it's over quick. I'm not forced against my will to stay there and get dunked on until they decide to give mercy. The queues are going to keep getting longer, too, since the devs think it's smart to buff survivors and nerf killers right now. They nerfed CLOWN

    CLOWN

    CLOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!

  • People convinced others that she requires you to spend 5000 hours with monks in Tibet before you can even get a killer with her, thus her strength is fine. Though in honesty I personally think she's easier than several killers released over the past two years.

In true honesty it's that there isn't much way to nerf her to the point she's not good anymore (generally the intent of DBD nerfs) without making her the worst killer in the game by a large margin. What are you going to nerf about her even? Also why must it always be nerfs? Why not BUFF things to her strength? And there isn't a huge outcry to have her nerfed because a bad nurse is a joke, and not enough people actually face the good nurses to care. Their data also shows she has a horrible kill rate so if anything, she needs a buff going by the devs logic.

  • @Yankus said:

I'll be okay with them nerfing this if they undo all the wiggle buffs survivors are getting.

No, no, those are staying because they were absolutely needed. The one actual legit killer buff in the entire patch though? Gotta go.

  • Meanwhile the wiggle mechanic gets a buff because...why not? But the one actual legit killer buff in the entire patch? CALL THE COPS COTE!

Oh we all know that they don't care

Look at true talents scores and numbers those are the numbers you get when you play fair

That's what survivors what the game to be balanced like

    Shits just sad

I am just confused by people coming in to say the game is balanced or fair or somehow killer sided, but also admit you have to play dirty to achieve kills. And then...they want those dirty tactics removed. But if we removed them then the experiment basically shows you average a 1k, tops? Basically arguing for removing camping or tunneling is arguing to massively buff survivor and make it so killers can't average a 1k.

  • @IronKnight55 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2740757#Comment_2740757

Things can change. They are looking at ways to help with camping. Will be interesting to see what they do.

But then Otz would have got 1k?

  • I'd like it if it didn't work in the exit gate. It's a guaranteed escape if you have it active and get downed at the exit. Killer can't pick you up and if he slugs, you can just crawl out. There is no counter play besides a mori. I also feel it should deactivate if you touch an exit gate. You are indeed advancing the game. Outside of that I have no issue with it, and the two issues I do have are pretty minor anyway and I can live with them.

Hmmmmm, this post is from yesterday and reading it, it doesn't sound like he's saying it's killer sided. It just says that killers can do well if they play really really sweaty/dirty/whatever you want to call it.

Also he said in his latest video when he was talking about the game after his 3 little experiments that he thought the game was balanced. So where did you hear that he said the game was killer sided because he didn't. Or did you skip the first half of the tweet/go deaf watching his videos at the parts where he didn't say the game leans towards killers?

The thing I don't get about this experiment is that everyone had come to this conclusion months ago. Killers had been saying they feel forced to camp, tunnel, slug and play dirty for kills. Survivors meanwhile have made like half a dozen threads this month alone demanding things like camping, tunneling, slugging etc be removed/nerfed/banned. If we lived in a world where survivors had their way and killers had to play nice and for hooks, Otz would have been lucky to average a 1k going by everything in his video and going by others attempts at the test. Killers had already been saying this, that if they want to win they have to play dirty now.

So I don't get what the eureka moment is for the whole conversation. Everyone already knew you need to play dirty to win these days. The issue is it's not fun for either side and it's an awful gameplay design. And if survivor mains got their way, you wouldn't be able to play dirty at all and would have to just lose. It also doesn't help that if you play dirty (which the video basically says you need to for a 2k average) you'll be heavily abused, insulted etc etc by survivors for not playing in a way that is basically now proven to get you an under 1k average game.

I am glad survivors, however, have apparently finally admitted tunneling, camping, slugging etc is the correct way for killers to play and how they should indeed be playing if they want to win, and that asking them to not play that way is asking them to statistically drastically lower their chances of even getting 1 kill. Personally, I think it would be better if we had a game where the killer could average 2k or better WITHOUT having to camp, tunnel, slug, etc etc. But I rarely hear any ideas for buffs to killers so they can achieve a good kill rate without those tactics, and instead I hear demands to remove those tactics (which immediately removes Otz 2k average)

  • Well there was a big issue with DDOSing and Swating that the devs largely side stepped for over a month.

  • @gendoss said:

I wonder if the narrative on the forums will ever change from killer's being oppressed. People like Otz and Scott Jund are finally admitting it because there is just so little evidence on the contrary.

Why are you lying? I don't really watch most of Scott's videos anymore so I cannot comment on what he said but Otz never said the game was killer sided nor was that the conclusion of his video or anything, so, I have to either assume 1. You're lying 2. Didn't watch the whole thing.

  • I could have sworn they stated they were working on this or something like it to incentivize people to play whichever role is less played at a certain time. As a way to deal with queues. I believe it was mentioned during the 5th Anniversary stream. But it's behavior and they state all the time they are looking at something and then it just never happens.

  • Newline holds the cards on that. License holders have to okay and allow any cosmetics. Some tend to just be more open to it than others, like Ghostface's owners Funworld.

  • It's generally a bad move since you could just be gaining distance. Outside of going for points/challenges or having iron will, it seems like you're far better off gaining the distance. Most killers aren't deaf and can track you via sound.

  • "But I didn't get to play."

Yes, you did. You just somehow got downed almost immediately. This is like accusing other players of ruining your fun in fortnite because you were one of the first few people eliminated from the game, and that's not fair. Queue up, try again, and when someone gets good enough they can run the killer for more than 10 seconds, and won't have as much an issue. Also if he is tunneling you and you're in repeated chases, how are you not playing the game? You aren't entitled to win or entitled to a long match just because. If I load up street fighter, I can absolutely get beaten with very little input if I am bad and my opponent is extremely good. That doesn't mean my opponent was somehow toxic for not letting me get offense in. It means I need to get good. The point of the game is to win.

I'd rather be face camped than tbag/clicked any day of the week. Period.

  • @not_Queef said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2737568#Comment_2737568

The latter. The whole point of the experiment was to show that killers can give survivors every possible advantage and still get kills if they play in the scummiest, least fun way possible. TrU3 played for hooks like he normally does, so his "results" are not comparable with the other killers that took part. Also Knightlight didn't do the AFK part so his results are also invalid.

Basically this whole experiment was a giant fail and told us nothing that we didn't know already.

Doesn't knightlight also use stretched res which entirely invalidates his entire experiment by introducing a variable factor not present in anyone elses experiment?

  • I think if anything from this franchise ever gets in, it will be the title character and not the villain from the 3rd game or whatever. You need to generate buzz among the people who don't care about this franchise.

  • @BlackRabies said:

Our you can just play VHS.

VHS doesn't have DS, DH, BT :(

  • My favorite thing about NOED debates is how the killer is a baby who doesn't deserve any kills, yet the survivors couldn't do any of the bones because the killer would then kill them due to a lack of the survivors doing the gens. It's just funny that NOED is simultaneously run by bad killers, but also killers that are so powerful pre-end game that they put too much pressure on the survivors to do bones, despite having 3 perks.

If the killer is a baby who does not deserve the kills, then you absolutely had time to do the bones, run around the map crouching, and really doing whatever you want. There isn't an excuse to not have done the bones if said killer was such a terrible baby killer. If you COULDN'T do the bones due to killer pressure, then he wasn't a baby and absolutely deserved the kills he gets in the end game.

  • In this patch, Nurse is getting stronger and Clown is getting weaker. Let that sink in.

  • People told me pentimento and buffed Lucky break would be OP, too. Maybe we should wait and see. Lots of people also believed original power struggle would somehow be OP.

  • @Sakurra said:

Why did they nerfed him? This killer is not even strong enough

Because their stats showed the add on was used so they just nerfed it because they only look at the numbers, rather than trying to figure out WHY those numbers exist, which is a key aspect of statistics. They just see "Oh, everyone uses marvins blood. Must be OP. NERF!" They don't bother at all trying to figure out the actual reason people use it over all other add ons. This is why they need to stop pretending they have even a basic understanding of statistics.

  • I rarely see Freddy anymore despite him still having the highest kill rate next to only Pinhead, who was a month old when those stats released. The perception the character is weaker is what causes people to just drop it.

  • Complaints about NOED? Must be a day that ends with Y.

I'm just gonna say it. The only survivors who have a serious issue with NOED and find it OP and die to it all the time, are flat out bad at the game and want it easier for them so they don't have to learn. No point skirting around that after the 50th NOED thread I have seen in like a month.
