Can you eve use lag switch with dedicated servers?
Yes. And it's pretty common, although it is hard to tell the difference between someone using a VPN (still cheating) and hence having a legit bad connection to the server and a lag switch.

It doesn not seem situational it is utterly situational. You just use the perk in hoping any of this scenarios will apply, which is just gambling.
So...like most perks?

I mean, it's iconic and seems pretty cool, imo.

Viable killer that isn't gross in the same way as deathslinger or spirit.
Good perks for both roles.
Map that is more balanced than we seem to keep getting right now, for both roles.
Maybe some nice balance changes to fix things like the double vault on Azarov's Resting Place, or the deadzone that is Wrecker's Yard.

Why it has to be a fully charged attack?
i don't see fully charged hatchets daily
or
fully charged demon strike daily
why it can't be just hit with the power like all the other dailys... it just make the match longer for no reason, the time it takes to be fully charged give extra time for survivors to reach a window or a pallet, making chases longer than it should.
With the demogorgon, it's either fully charged or he can't shred at all.
As for it being 5 times as opposed to the usual 4? That's a mystery to me.
-
As someone who is rank 1 both roles, this game is not killer sided. If the entirety of the game were solo, sure, or every map was gas Heaven (seriously ######### that map and the inability to find even an L wall T wall, nevermind a pallet in the majority of that trash) then sure, I'd agree. But the fact is that if we take into account the information that survivors have when it comes to them being in SWF, it's very much against the killer, especially if the survivors are efficient.
Of course, solo survivor is very weak, because they lack too much information. And I do agree that more info is necessary in order to make playing solo an enjoyable situation since atm player agency is lost unless you get very lucky with teammates.

Unless you reported them in the score screen, that's useless. Always report, and don't listen to people who say you need video evidence. You don't need to record to get them banned, the video is simply the cherry on top.
Yes, you do need video evidence. I've been told multiple times by the support staff that I need to record it even though it's blatantly trackable on their servers.

There has always been toxicity slung but lately survivors have doubled down on how furious they are. Honestly its been a pretty big issue and tbh, i have been playing more toxic because of it, not even intentionally but it works, and i feel less bad about the massive rage if i was a douche beforehand.
Soooo win for me???
Haven't played much killer this week but I can safely say that killers too have doubled down on this.
-
They're pretty common and anyone that claims otherwise is lying. Still, you'll find the odd session where you come across very few.
-
I wouldn't care, but would find it funny as outside of the America, it's a horror character we basically just don't know and they've advertised this character as one that shook up the genre.
-
You stated you used a strong build; you didn't. If anything, it looks like you rely on Noed, which is a habit that should be unlearnt.
You just came to the forums to whine about balance when it was clear you weren't playing optimally if you were protecting totems, which you clearly must have been. Good survivors will take advantage of that and use it as a means to bully you and get in your head.
Yes, really mature. :)
-
I mean that's a meme build; relying on totems is bad.
This screenshot shows nothing other than you playing a strong killer and losing; no context whatsoever.

Once upon a time MM never changed. I am still matched with red ranks all the time. People may say ha, ranks has nothing to do with it well I think it does. With maintaining your red rank, you must win countless games. If you look carefully at their perks you can see the difference. Now look at my perks.
You can't just blame me for having a low level killer, I have lvl 40 killers too, I just don't want to play the same killers repetitively, I want to vary my choices. However when I vary my choices its more like I'm taking a risk going against red ranked survivors, the game wasn't fun and ended quickly, is this the outcome that you want for your players?
You're purple rank, so this is to be expected. Meanwhile I just had a game on EU server half an hour ago vs a rank 20 nurse. The player in question had 13 hours in the entire game.
I'm rank 1, as were 2 others on my team apart from my duo who is currently rank 7...

This is intended; they make it heard everywhere outside of her terror radius, rather than just within a certain range of her while she's traversing the spirit realm.

It doesn't. I use a Bose headset and i have a hard time tracking with her.
Meanwhile, I, someone who is bad at killer, have an easy time tracking with her at red ranks. Without Stridor. With? It's a joke.
-
They just need to make it so Stridor doesn't stop her only counter from being a thing OR they could make her actually skillful and make it so wearing a headset doesn't mean you auto-win a chase.
-
All they need to do is remove the oblivious status effect from his power and job's a good 'un.
Also they should probably remove the pallet add-ons and give him something actually useful that also isn't really oppressive/boring to go against in their place.

Right now I'm running a (weird) build of Resilience, Spine chill, Lithe and Iron will, and just got solidarity from the shrine; is it worth replacing Resilience for or is it too situational to get usage out of?
As long as you can't use it with Medkits, Solidarity will always be a pointless perk.
Sure, you can run it with We'll Make It to make it have SOME worth, but at high levels, killers won't normally give you the time to do that, and at very low levels its the same case (for different reasons) and the fact is that it forces you to change your playstyle in order to make a perk simply do something; it forces you to play inefficiently, seeing as the best play after unhooking is usually to continue pressuring the objective.
-
@Dzeikor said:
There's currently a bug where you randomly gets stuck after being unhooked, rescuing someone, cleansing a totem or repairing a generator, unless killer picks you up,you cant move and you're stuck there forever. This is incredibly annoying because it happens way too often.
Yes yesterday I was being basement camped, someone got the unhook, I couldn't move. Even after being downed, I was stuck in place under the back hook. Nice. (:

Hmm I'll add some rough math here since that's basically what the thread is about.
1540000000 total required divided by 30000 bp per game = 51333 games required to max out
51333 games times 25 mins per game = 1283333 minutes required to max out
1283333 minutes divided by 60 minutes per hour = 21389 hours required to max out, or 2.44 entire years of your life doing nothing but playing dbd
The math is really rough but maybe you'll find it fun to look at :P
And that's assuming 30k per game...most survivors will get an average of maybe 20k since often games are low pointed.
-
I don't see the point of it in the first place; it's a minor nuisance, and I think should be replaced with an entirely new add-on while this effect gets completely removed from the game.
The fact is that by the time a survivor is downed, they've already learnt of one Jigsaw box location, so they'd need only begin there and then they can work on a gen until it's activated, thus causing them to simply be more efficient with the main objective. Thus, working against the killer. At least, this is how good players would play around the Pig.
-
Useless support being useless? Nothing new. :/ Only way to get it sorted it to try again and hope you actually get someone willing to help.

All I hear from people about Clown is how unfun he is to go against. Chase is boring and he refuses to apply pressure.
This. The gameplay loop vs a Clown is to essnetially become blinded and slowed to the point that he forces the pallet drop, and run to the next pallet. He'll probably use a mixture of his tonic and the bloodlust mechanic to get a hit on you before you get to move on from some pallets, though, unless you got the stun.
It's not fun to be on the survivor side of and it's a frustrating experience for the Clown player, due to the fact that there is actually a lack of player interaction involved; it's not really mindgaming, there isn't skill in this matchup beyond basic looping.
-
Remove Oblivious effect. Punish him for spamming his pools (slight slow like with, say, Clown, whose job he does much better.) Job done.

Anyone else have this happen? Like jeez the rng sometimes i get out in 1 try and sometimes it takes up to 15? Anyone know the actual percentage for getting out of one?
Had a game where multiple teammates had put luck offerings on yesterday in which I got trapped. Around 10 attempts and I hadn't escaped; the killer came for me.
Meanwhile I had a ton of traps in a game as trapper on the same night where every survivor instantly escaped each trap, and I had trapped everyone an average of about 3-4 times...it was so infuriating, as if they didn't get out first attempt, the majority of the time, I'd have netted the hook states.
As with the Pig, they need to do something about the RNG with the Trapper. This includes trap spawns, etc. And then, we can maybe have new mechanics related to luck...please?
(honestly, earlier I had a game where 2 stacks of up the ante and 3 jars of salty lips had me attempt escape 6 times on a hook with slippery meat and go to second stage too lmao)

this Borrowed Time doesn’t make it okay Though. You can’t come up with a solution because there currently isn’t one. Borrowed time doesn’t do enough you’ll just get grabbed 😂 this a terrible defense for something that should net the killer negative points at the end of the match instead. You can’t just list a perk for everything. There’s only 4 slots and every time people complain it’s “oh use this perk to counter that, problem solved” no.... it’s not solved. The topic is about DISCOURAGING that type of behavior. Not presenting a solution by listing a perk survivors can use when they already have a million to choose from. Yes BT is great, but quite honestly, I’d rather my teammates do gens if I’m getting face camped. What I don’t want is the killer getting rewarded for that. Because if I lose pip you should too :)
BT also doesn't work against a number of killers, to boot!

It's losing a chase, by the game's definition. "Losing" and "Failing" are synonyms.
The game is literally designed that the killer will always eventually down the survivor, no matter what. That you would suggest eventually succumbing to such mechanics is failure or losing is questionable.
That someone can run the killer for 10 minutes to then depip/gain very few points to put into various characters because they then got facecamped is incredibly unfair. If we aren't going to actually penalise the scummy player then the person having their ability to play/earn anything from that particular game needs to be compensated, plain and simple.

Sorry, you're totally right, lemme rephrase.
There needs to be a better system that discourages it entirely so people actually stop playing like this. Losing two pips every single game you camp would be ideal,
Also making it so that the facecamped person actually ######### gains something for this happening would be nice.

Someone picked "Decisive Strike". You became the obsession because you were unlucky ^^'
Unlucky? That's free survival points if they remain obsession on either death or escape!
-
Usually it's best to chase survivors off generators as this slug will give you some extra pressure. Either:
1) they get forced to use their unbreakable if they have it this early on;
2) Or a survivor has to come and pick them up while you chase at least one other.
This results in either really easy pressure later in the game when you get a free slug if needed, or a ton of pressure getting the survivors away from their objective.
Of course, if you know for a fact that no one is doing gen work, it could be helpful to eat the DS there and then.
-
@Steah said:
If DS is suppose to be an anti tunneling perk, then multiple decisive strikes should not be active at the same time
Most games in red ranks its 1-2 DS max, except for some SWF groups that opt for 4 as they're insecure. It's intended to make the killer scared as to whether or not they should gamble on the DS and prevent a snowball.
It's very rare this situation will even occur.

When I started playing I could not play without Spibe Chill. As the time passed my map awareness improved and I stopped using it.
Nowadays I can't play without Kindred. It helps a lot solo survivors like myself to not waste time and to plan the next move more effectively.
Spine Chill isn't about map awareness, though? It gives you extra speed, etc, and provides information that often you won't have unless you're in a SWF or incredibly open map.

You literally promote toxicity with this comment. You promote the game hosting by a survivor.
Correction of your message: not harder, impossible and toxic.
Don't try to hide the toxicity saying it's fun to ruin the experience of someone who spent several hours level up a character just to get 2 chances of their last archievement over all in 1400 hours.
Your entire premise is toxic, ffs. Get the hell over yourself.

Imagine not understanding that you removing her fun would make her bored and have a bit of joy in making it harder for you to have some too. (:
-
Being tombstoned is BS; doing actions is counterplay. Don't be annoyed at the fact there is counterplay.
-
I say SWF, but I mean duo/trio with people who I meme with; we don't try hard or make it our mission to make the killer's life miserable.
That said, the game is miserable when I play solo the majority of the time. It's boring and just plain frustrating.
-
Rank rewards would be great, but increasing BP rewards across the board would be better since it would make the game more accessible to newer players; right now, the grind is a big barrier to new players.
I do think shards, or bonus BP daily (or some regular interval if you play regularly enough at a given rank) could be great...once the MMR system is in place, and they find a way to make rank actually meaningful.

Catch 1 of them, hook them near that gen, kick it, now watch as they all throw themselves at either the hook or the gen, over committing and giving you free hits/hooks.''
So it a nerf to survivor who played in a bad way and din,t use the fact they could apply pressure in 4 differant places? If anything that let them know how to acctualy play...
Actually, that's usually a common occurrence at high ranks when an important (usually a part of the 3 gen or the final one) gen is past half and someone is in chase; survivors commit, even giving up a hook state for it. It's pretty much the height of efficiency.

"The only thing the nerf has done is that it made it impossible for four people working on a gen to complete it by the time killer walk to them if the killer happend check that gen at the end of their first patrol."
Which is a huge deal. When 3 or 4 of you are on a gen and the killer interrupts you, they can get a free hit on 3 survivors usually and they know there are no other gens to worry about. Catch 1 of them, hook them near that gen, kick it, now watch as they all throw themselves at either the hook or the gen, over committing and giving you free hits/hooks.
"This one isin't a fat killer buff too."
Yes it is don't lie. It's a massive killer buff to shrink those maps. I played a game on Rotten Fields as Huntress last night, pretty much every down I was able to carry to the basement, which I then camped and forced unsafe rescues for more basement hooks.
They literally gutted a LOT of survivor advantages and you are sitting here asking for more. If you are still having problems catching survivors and getting kills, maybe you aren't as good at killer as you think you are.
I played about 10 games last night as Huntress and Legion (and 1 as Spirit with a mori for a daily which I didn't even use until the game was over). EVERY SINGLE GAME WAS A 4K (red ranks BTW). Except 2, one game I gave a Laurie hatch because she was funny, and another game as Huntress on Haddonfield I took the 3k and let the Feng hatch because I wanted to end the game and go to bed (they did 0 gens BTW, I snowballed very hard at the start and slugged a lot after 2 hooks, they couldn't recover from it).
Playing killer is easier than ever.
Ngl, that last line rings true for my experience since this patch as killer, also in red ranks. Apart from the game as Huntress (where I still 3k'd with the escapee on death hook) I played for the challenge, since I don't play her so haven't learnt the arc, timing, and also have issues discerning the centre of my screen as her, they were all such easy games.
There are definitely a couple of maps that are too killer sided as a result of these changes, but that's it. Haven't played all maps yet so can't say if there are any that are still horrendous for killer, tbh. Probably Haddonfield, lol.
-
Imagine thinking nerfing Self-Care would help killers. LMAO. It's well known that as it is right now, it is great for killers if survivors run it.
Sorry, but this entire post is a meme. I hope it's satire.
-
I remember watching Otz's stream pretty well where he basically realised camping isn't really punished enough and pretty consistently it would be the case that if he did get outplayed, it was a 'haha gotcha' moment because one hit down and extra movement speed (:
Honestly, just do away with the expose and make it 10% speed or something and it'll basically be the killer's Hope, but better.
-
Because map design made it so easy for survivors to win in most cases. There are exceptions like the Saloon or Hawkins, but the fact is too many maps were too strong.
Now, most maps are in a better place. Albeit, some are now far too killer sided with the number of deadzones and insane spacing between tiles. But this isn't many.
-
Or...hit them...
