If he torments the ground when you’re running a loop and you choose to go down instead you’re doing killers a favour keep it up 😂

ROFL hilarious Santa stepping on the head with laughters 🥳 basically he is kinda doing sound emote of laughter, likewise this was a function for key 1 or 2
@Peanits I simply got a bit bored of regular gaming styles after 1k hrs, so found more fun by playing agressively. If we had some innovation with e.g new game modes perhaps wouldn't do so, but DBD risks nothing innovating
Damn dude find a new game to play if you’re bored 😂

Oh sure, there are definitely counters for tunnelling. But as @DudeDelicious pointed out, that's the case for pretty much every possible strategy.
Correct, but that’s all advanced level which isn’t what this guide would be about.
I’m talking about a basic gameplay guide, one that’s structured around priorities. Giving examples of how much time you lose pressuring generators, and how many of them are completed once you end up downing that one survivor you tunnelled.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Thing about “optimal” is that it can be fluid. There is no definitive way that is conclusively, indisputably optimal.
There will always be counters to certain strategies, and emergent behaviour/circumstances that can suddenly turn optimal play into sub-optimal play.
Oh of course, I used optimal loosely. The guide can’t go into every circumstance otherwise it’d hinder more than help new players

@Fibijean said:
I agree with the general idea of informing new players of counterintuitive strategies that might help them win, but from a purely strategic perspective, tunnelling is generally far more effective than I think you're giving it credit for.
While it's true that whoever you're chasing, the other three are free to work on generators, that's true regardless of whether the person you're chasing is the one that just got unhooked or not. In a game that's balanced around 1v4, removing one of the 4 will always tip the balance in the 1's favour, so it is objectively to the killer's advantage to eliminate one of the survivors as quickly as possible.
Not that I'm saying new players should be encouraged to tunnel, I just don't think they should be discouraged from tunnelling on the basis that it's a bad idea strategically, because that's not actually true in most cases.
I can’t disagree that tunnelling does win games, however against a good team. They’ll use Borrowed Time, Body Block, while the other survivor keeps working on generators
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
Wow this is actually a great idea. All newer players know is "kill the survivors" or "repair the generators". If somehow they could all be informed about meta strategies and tactics when they first get into the game, they could employ these strategies earlier and improve the experience for them and those who match up with them. Killers don't automatically know that the survivors always have potential to repair generators when they aren't putting pressure on them, neither do survivors hence why the horrific meta of early ranks is the killer proxy camping a survivor until they're dead and the survivors sitting around the hook, afraid to unhook and potentially get hooked, but also too concerned for their teammate's well-being to just go back and sit on generators.
Thank you.
And yup exactly! You hit the nail on the head. My brain is going to around in circles thinking how to best explain all of that in a video guide lol.

Most of the biggest and most skilled streamers play solo survivor for the most part; and when they do SWF, they aren't super tryhard. They're just meming and having fun. If this makes you mori them...well, I'd say you have a personal issue.
I gave them the benefit of the doubt a few times when I saw .ttv each and every game was a attempted bully. I have no issue survivors trying to have fun it won’t be at my expense is all 🙃
Survivors don’t have fun when they’re mori’s, tunnelled, camped etc.
Killers don’t have fun when they’re getting bullied.
In other words survivors are hypocrites

I don't understand the nature of moring TTV's. What harm did they ever cause you?
.ttv’s are streamers that usually bring 3 of the strongest loopers on their friends list and then go out and actively bully killers.
Mori’s stop them having fun

You're probably one of those people who think seeing scratch marks and staying at the hook is camping, or that finding the unhooked survivor sitting injured on a gen is tunneling
Nope.
Lmao.

But you can tho, and you dont necessarily HAVE to
It’s unoptimised gameplay, you’re effectively letting 1 survivor run around and do gens.
You don’t have to yes, STBFL is a good perk because it enables quick downs at 6,7,8 stacks. Normal attacks on the obsession turns this great perk into nothingness.
Unless you try for grabs then you’re engaging in chases with the obsession hoping they’ll window vault. They’ll soon catch onto this and just waste your time.
-
Took me 1 match, though I messaged survivors after only hitting 1 hatchet once 5 gens were done lol....
Very inexperienced Huntress player.
-
Good on Pig & Demo that’s it, you can’t actively ignore 1 survivor because “stacks”
-
Probably trying to do the gen grab challenge
-
Don’t you get an audio queue when each blink has recharged though? Honest question.

I don't understand why Behaviour doesn't punish hook suicides the same as disconnects. It makes no sense and legitimizes griefing, because it amounts to nothing more than a penalty-free DC.
Just had a game where two players -- red rank players! -- suicided on-hook inside of the first two minutes. Then, somehow, I'm the one who gets de-pipped for it. It's unbelievable how maliciously negligent Behaviour is with certain aspects of this game, and this is most certainly one of them.
Killers: Punish the people who DC! I’m sick of getting a safety pip or de-pip
Devs: DC penalties now exist! Killers “Hooray!”
Survivor: *Hook suicides*
Killer: God damn it! How dare survivors legitimately exit a game early......
You’re kidding right?!?!...........
My guess is you play killer in a boring way that makes survivors want to move onto the next game... Ir head huntress, Tunnel, Camp, or something to that extent.

Damn you must be SALTY getting a free win, and wanting to report somebody for it.... Lol

No.
Remove the hatch and the game gets held hostage because survivors just hide until the killer gives up. hatch was implemented to prevent this.

Depends where the games at, I can be patrolling gens and randomly come across a survivor that jumps in a locker. Sometimes I’ll just eat the DS, sometimes they miss it, sometimes it’s a bluff.
-
I’ve noticed it also, I run Spies on Trapper since the patch the perk isn’t triggering as much
-
SWF is fine, killers usually blame their lack of skill opposed to taking ownership that the SWF player better than them.
Killers aren’t mean to 4K every match, and SWF aren’t meant to escape every match. Every killer has strengths and weaknesses, if you play top tier killers every game you won’t learn anything.
This isn’t to say I don’t lose to death squad SWF because I do. I had the sweatiest game yesterday at The Game I was Spirit with Red and Purple add on’s should’ve been an easy game for me right? Nope! Sweatiest match I’ve played in a LONG time... I ended up with the 4K with 1 gen left but I had to fight damn hard to get it.
At the end everyone was GG WP and I made a friend outta it.
Two days before that I was Trapper with BBQ Chilli, Devour Hope (which was cleansed early game) Spies From The Shadows, and PGTW.
I knew it was a SWF because I’ve been against them before they were optimal af. One gen left again, but they slipped up and didn’t heal so I managed to secure a 4K. All it takes is one slip up and it’s hugely detrimental to the SWF.
Everyone remembers the loss, nobody thinks of the game you just played and steam rolled all 4 survivors as a SWF. Those games are the ones where they slip up.
Before anyone responds with “you can’t do anything when gens are knocked out within 5 minutes”....
Bud you’re playing killer wrong unless they all have Brand New Parts... Or even if 4 survivors spilt up on 4 gens.... That means one gen isn’t being worked on outta 5. You’re playing the role wrong....
-
It couldn’t be anything gen blocking related, survivors would just wait out the timer.
Same as anything slow down related, again just encourages the survivors to wait it out.
An idea would be that survivors have to escape some form of building the killer/entity imprisoned them in. It’d work in with the theme of the game opposed to four survivors via telekinesis magically appear on the map....
To prevent the killer camping the building exit, you would perhaps implement multiple exits with a exclusion zone so traps etc can’t be placed straight in front of the exits
-
Some members of this community are so moronic within 12 hours they’re already claiming the killer is OP 😂
Heaven forbid they learn how the killers power work before crying wolf.

That isn't what I said and those also aren't what make SWF a problem.
Lol....
”What makes SWF a problem is gen speed and communication”
What counters SWF? Pressure. If SWF are unable to combat team mates getting hooked pressure starts to build. If no survivors are around get the hook for bbq and pop.
If they’re altruistic send them to a cage.
Pressure kills all.
-
@Blueberry said:
None of those reasons are what made SWF a problem.
So you’ve never lost pressure from flash light blinds, hook sabos, body blocking etc?

Monitor is trash. Once you smack someone an run away you drop the chase and lose the extra terror radius so that detection won’t work only for 24 meters. I’d say use nemesis instead and play with your food as the fourh perk, it makes you want to eat pallets (especially because it’s quicker to get out if frenzy with a stun) because you get extra 5% speed each time. Also if you’re in a good frenzy and everyone was relativelly close, as you smack the obsession and go for a guy running away you get the speedburst as you run, and sometimes that’s all you need to get an other cheeky breeky hit or an orher chain attack.
Do Frenzy hits make you lose stacks of Play With Your Food? Tbh I considered this perk but thought FF would make you lose a stack

What does that even have to do with add ons?
Both examples survivors are getting outplayed
-
@Respectfulnancymain said:
Why would I?
Same reason some survivors get salty if killers step back and watch a survivor 360 then hit them.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
I don't think anyone gets salty about a no-add on killer; quite the opposite. People hate double-ultra add-ons because it buffs their base kit far beyond, well, base (or in some cases ultra and very, like Iri Queen/Discipline or Infantry Belt/Iri Head).
If killers kill you while using no add-ons, they either facecamped and tunneled you while you're playing solo, or you got legitimately outplayed (which happens to be the case most of the time I see killers with no add-ons).
I don't understand why anyone would get mad except at themselves for their own lack of skill.
No camping etc, 12 hooks is a lot more rewarding for me personally
-
She’s good with STBFL but no killer should be perk or add on reliant, a lot of it is dependent on Head Trap RNG too.
She’s fun, but not powerful.
-
@Chatkovski said:
You can only read the end, but I strongly advise you to read the whole argument before reacting negatively, as providing an answer may be very easy for me.
Some preliminary truths:
- camping is a legitimate strategy.
- no one has the right to judge how the other plays, nor the right to prevent the other from having fun.
- camping essentially results in a killer wishing to limit his search and hunt for survivors as much as possible, to avoid the condition of accession to his main objective as much as possible.
- survivors are not the only ones able to advance the game by repairing generators, the game also progresses when the killer kills survivors.
- being hidden is part of the survivor's gameplay.
- EGC exist.
Some logical deductions:
A. Logically deducted from points 1 and 3: genrush is not the right reaction against camping. We must not accept and participate in the acceleration of the game (of which the killers complain), but act the opposite, which will also be a legitimate strategy.
B. Points 2 and 5: the survivors are free to play while remaining hidden.
C. Points 4 and 6: point B does not result in a hostage taking, since advancement of the game is perfectly possible. The killer can find the survivors and kill them, the game progresses. It depends on the killer. There is no hostage taking, there is only a killer who is inexperienced or refuses to seek the survivors. The last survivor do not block the game since he can escape through the hatch, or through a door, or die with the mechanics of the EGC.
Some additional observations:
- staying hidden without repairing the generators in no way prevents the survivors from having the same objective: to escape. Just like camping, focusing on one goal: killing one survivor. Staying hidden is therefore a coherent and legitimate strategy: stay alive the longest and escape. Every survivor works actively to achieve this goal by remaining hidden. Survivors are not forced to act for the escape of all survivors just as a killer is not forced to act to kill all survivors.
- there is already a mechanism for actually punishing inactive survivors, and it is a mechanism that does not consist solely in the loss of emblem points. Hiding is obviously different from being inactive.
- since all of this is perfectly legitimate, and fun for me, all of this can be done against any killer, no matter how they play: the killer must adapt.
- killers complain that the generators are repaired too quickly, this strategy gives them total satisfaction.
TL; DR:
So, help me build the perfect stealth survivor.
I'm thinking about a locker to bush survivor: Urban Evasion + Distortion + Left Behind + Wake Up!
However, Calm Spirit, Object of Obsession, Diversion, Fixated and Spine Chill also seems interesting to me.
The objective is to avoid as much as possible the main condition for escaping, by remaining hidden, and to escape by the hatch or by a door, maybe being the last survivor alive. It is a legitimate strategy : the survivor can escape or can be found and killed, just like camping.
Together, killers and survivors, let's be tolerant, unbiased, and accept that everyone can have fun with this game.
I had a game yesterday where 2 x survivors were left alive with 2 x gens remaining. They opted to hide for a good 10 - 15 minutes, not even bothering to touch a generator. I started to walk around the match in search of the hatch thinking one of them will at least be camping the area. Thankfully it was on Ormond and I managed to find them. If it was on Cold Wind or Yamaoka I would’ve had no hope.
Whist I can understand it may be a “strategy” it’s not a very good one in the above circumstance where they can’t possibly win.
When survivors play well and a killer is threatened with a 0K some killers will down one survivor and camp them to hopefully get 1k even though the killer still technically looses.
Survivors hiding when they can’t possibly win because the killer played well are essentially doing the same bad play some killers would when threatened with a 0k.
In short accept the loss and move on

@ItzPixelYT said:
This game is far from Balanced. It's a lot harder to play Survivor now. Majority of Killers run Nurses, Sloppy Butcher, Thanataphobia & BBQ & Chilli. Problem is they shrunk the maps, made gens slower, removed a lot of pallets & took away safer Windows. So with killers running these perks it takes forever to heal up and even do gens. I feel like the game is catered to the high end PC players that go against SWF every game. They only look at stats, they aren't bothered by what's actually happening in games majority of the time. I'm lucky to get 1 escape in an hour lately since the recent map changes and i'm Rank 1 survivor...not that i'm bothered for pips etc..but it's crazy how they made so many changes to the maps to support the killer and i'm happy with the smaller maps, but removing pallets and windows before they even fix being hit through pallets etc..is crazy. So now if we're even lucky to find pallets because they're harder to find now, even if we drop it in time we're still getting smacked through them. Not to mention the buggy window vault hits that are broken.
Even if camping is a tactic and people say "JUST DO GENS" it's not that simple...most of the time if you don't know the person they're gonna get mad you aint coming to save them so they throw on hook, but if you play with someone you know then you're going to try and save them because you also don't want them to die and get mad you didn't save them. Then Killer complain about SWF's? Then after all the camping and gens are done, here's NOED...but wait, just do bones? Sure so the time is takes for someone to be camped on a hook we're supposed to get 5 gens done on much smaller maps and cleanse 6 totems so NOED doesn't spawn...
Don't even get me started on 1 shot mechanics with the way the maps are right now it is a total joke. Dead zones everywhere.Broken Pallets & Windows. I think a Distressing Doc can cover a whole map with his static blast, FREE BBQ & CHILLI!!!
I'm all for Killers having the power role in this game it's the way it should be. But I really can't see any of your logic behind wanting to Nerf Survivors even more...
Killer main for many years only started playing survivor mid last year.
I’m red ranks.... Solo survivor.... No SWF..... With multiple escapes....
I recommend improving your skill set, and removing the “yolo” attitude that a lot of survivors had prior to the map nerf
