I believe it will be the Predator cuz he collected skulls in the movies/games, and the image provided is one (besides the futuristic/technologic "4"), and will be an easy copy/paste from the Wraith
Predator Hunting Grounds was released recently......

Won’t be Predator....

Is that the one where you need to take a hit for recently unhooked survivors? Like 250 or something? Goodluck with them. I've still got alot to do.
That’s the one

It’s all about gen pressure bud.
1: If you’re chasing a survivor where no gens are drop chase, they’re purposely wasting your time. Go back to gens.
2: if you’re chasing a survivor near gens and they drop a pallet, and you see another pallet close to them. Chase the survivor around that loop so they’re on the opposite end then break the pallet chance are you’ll get a hit in or a down.
3: Don’t be afraid to 3 gen if you have a weak start.
4: your priority is always gens, if you’re at a part of the map where a bunch of pallets are around and you’re chasing a survivor chase that survivor and break 1-2 pallets if you can’t get the down give up chase and go back to gens.
Gens are the priority for survivors pallets are their safety net tactically lowering that net over time is how you win the game.
-
It’s simply SWF that causes the “gen rush” I usually hit rank 1 with no issues each season.
Last night I was on for 4 hours, right when it was rank reset, and tome level 2 was released.
Nearly every single game for me was an enormous challenge through a good majority of killers.
I went up and down in pips all night, and stayed at rank 5, whilst I saw rank 3,2,1 survivors.
Survivor death squads were out in force last night lol

I want them to hurry up and release who the killer is so these posts stop flooding the forums....

Ok thanks

Won’t be xenomoroh, I can’t see them implementing an “Alien” chapter. I just don’t buy it.

You use it to catch up with the survivor, miss on purpose and then hit them normally, that's why.
Also imagine it with Unrelenting...
A four second stun gives the survivor plenty of time to get to a pallet, so no.

Then talk to the teammate who unhooked them when it wasn't safe, or the player themselves for not getting out of the area in a timely or safe fashion.
Of all the people in that equation, the one least at fault is the killer. Downing survivors and hooking them is their primary role.
It was very much safe, the killer was well enough away before a unhook was even made. 2 others survivors were also around me trying to bait the killer into hitting them. But nope the killer went straight after me.
You can argue ‘just go to a pallet’ that’s all well and good if a pallet is near the hook....

Tunneling is more the survivor's fault than a killer. There's so many ways to evade the killer, and if you make yourself easy enough to be found when I come back, I don't care about your non existent rule book. You will get killed. If I see someone else, I will go for them but yeah, learn to play better.
The hypocrisy in this post....

@GrannyonAcid said:
Pretty sure killers tunnel because they want to get 3-4 kills a game. If you don't tunnel someone out of the game early you're most likely going to lose. Tunneling is really the only effective way to slow the game down enough to give killers a chance. I don't like being tunneled either. But I don't flame them when they do it. I understand completely.
If a killer doesn't care about getting kills and plays the right way then all 4 survivors are going to escape every game. It's just kinda how it is.
That is not even remotely accurate, all this statement tells me is you don’t want to learn how to play properly which is 100% more satisfying.
-
@EvilJoshy said:
Like others have said, tunneling is just a word people throw around when they lose because they don't want to consider the possibility they were out played.
I go after who is the best target for my objective.
If I see 2 survivors. One healthy and one injured, I'm going for the injured one.
If A survivor pulls someone off the hook right in front of me I assume they have BT+DS so I go after the person who made the rescue. Not because I think it's unfair to the survivor pulled off the hook but because BT+DS will take me longer to down them again. So I go for the rescuer because it is quicker and one less person working on gens. The injured one will probably find another survivor to heal.
If I leave a hook, don't find anyone, a save is made then I go back to the hook. If I can't find who made the save but I see a blood trail I'm going after the person pulled off the hook because I cant find anyone else. That's the only person I found and leaving them alone hurts my objective.
If someone has been hooked twice already and I see them and 3 other survivors, I'm going after the one that is on dead hook. It's just the logical choice because one person taken out of the match helps me complete my objective.
Everything I do as killer is because it is what I find best for MY objective. I think Tyde said it best. "I am the killer. I am going to kill you in anyway I can" or something like that. Most if not all these whining threads about tunneling and camping can be solved if survivors played killer for a good amount of time. Learn why we do these things or better yet, learn what to do in those situations.
Tunneling=run bt, ds or dont save in front of the killer. Learn to loop or route so you don't get downed.
Camping= do gens
Face camping=do gens or don't be the first person found. Seriously killers that face camp the first person they hook should not rank up if you punish them for playing poorly. When my friends and I play SWF, if we run into a red bubba that face camps the first person we see it makes me cringe. "How did you get to this rank playing like that? Were ALL the survivors you faced before potatoes?"
No skill comes into it if you go for the person that was unhooked, and no pallets are within sight.

I see, you are not actually a killer main. This is good to know.
That, or you only play the tippity toppest of killers with their best meta perks and add-ons.
Seriously, it is mathematically impossible to get 12 hooks before all the generators are finished, assuming you are going against decent survivors. Expecting 1 minute chases, hits, downs and hooks (which is unrealistically low), 12 hooks takes 12 minutes. 5 gens, with 1 survivor working on them, takes 95 seconds (including travel time). Assuming 1 person working on them, that's 8 minutes.
And you know damn well killers don't get a hook a minute if they let survivors go and heal up. And you also know that only 1 survivor on generators at all times is impossible.
No I am actually a killer main and use none meta perks, and also use a wide variety of killer. Sounds like your problem is you classify a win as a 4K.
Change your perspective of you can’t let your ego get tarnished. It’s ok for survivors to play better than you in some matches

"Tunneling" is a silly term that just gets tossed around when someone is salty about dying.
If you're the weak link and the killer keeps finding/catching you, that's on you.
If your teammates constantly unhook you in the killers face and aren't even running BT, that's on them.
It is the killers job to kill you. It's YOUR job - not the killers - to ensure that doesn't happen. You might as well whine that your opponent "tunneled" the queen you left vulnerable in Chess.
Weak link doesn’t even come into it if you purposely return to that hook only to down them again, that specific area could be a dead zone

In real life who would a killer target? The weaker person. Survivor mains throw the term tunneling around so loosely everyone forgets what it actually is and isn't.
If you chase someone for 10 minutes and refuse to switch off. That's tunneling.
I go to down the injured unhook and leave them on the floor to put pressure on the team and get them off gens.

A machine can't differentiate between intentional and unintentional tunneling so your simple solution have to take that into account. With your sistem I would be deranked and happy to stomp survivors that are not prepared enough to deal with me, then I would rank up anyways and the story would start again.
Also there are some justified intentional tunnel, let's say you check a locker for hatchets as huntress and you eat a DS, you have a free hook there. Is there any logical reason to don't hook that person? No it is not.
A curious thing i have realised after playing killer a lot is that survivors only complain about tunneling when that tunneling leads to their death. When I have tunneled survivors that make almost no mistakes, they are never mad about it, even I have found some that press [2 key] after being unhooked to start another chase. I think only low skilled survivors complain about this and it's related to losing and not the tunneling as it is.
Simply put once the survivor is unhooked a symbol appears over your portrait, that remains for a specific period of time indicating to the killer if you hook this person within said time limit you’ll be penalised. It’s a far from perfect solution.

Because I don't want to keep track of everyone hooks.
The other day for example i had 2 megs in my game that both have the same outfit but different shirt colour. They expect me to differentiate between them, but i couldn't... so the hooked one got "tunneled". Both were injured and running away from me so the only thing i could see was the same black jacket... because I can't see their shirts if they run away from my camera!
Another situation that happens often is that I don't remember who I hooked, or the order in which I hooked the survivors when multiple are down at the same time.
Another thing is that you are not encouraged that much to avoid tunneling, you get the same rank points and BT and DS can be avoided just counting to the effect duration.
I think that is not that bad. I enjoy being tunneled as a survivor because you spend more time in chase (the only really interactive thing in this game) and less time pressing m1 (I don't know if anyone plays this game to enjoy skill checks).
That’s a little different dude, we all get confused on who we’ve hooked at some point especially if all are injured or they’re all healed quickly. Especially if they’re all identical Meg’s

I don't get it much either. There's some people who've earned it at times... But meh it's not fun for anyone involved.
As for your 'keep tunnelers and such towards lower ranks' idea, I don't think it's a healthy approach to it. No/Less BPs? That'd be fine enough, but removing emblems and such will keep those players where it hurts the game the most. I'd rather face a tunnel camper while I'm in purple ranks' than have a bunch of new players that won't know what to go face it. While I agree there should be a better reason to not tunnelcamp and such, it's good to keep those people closer to the ranks that can better deal with it.

No one is guarding my fun for me, so I'm not sure why it's my job to do it for others. Survivors do nothing to make sure I'm having the great time I'm supposed to be making sure they have. Quite the opposite, usually. I haven't been gifted a kill in recent memory. BMing is at an all-time high. This happens when I'm playing "nicely," and intentionally spreading out hooks never seems to be appreciated. Hell, it's sometimes punished.
I will not intentionally hobble myself for no reward. If you don't want killers to tunnel, give us a reason other than additional shame. Shame doesn't work, because we get whipped regardless of how we decide to play.
You're saying we're bad for tunneling? Take a number, get in line, work on your insults. We hear worse even when we're playing according to the rulebook.
Ever heard the saying two wrongs don’t make a right? Sounds like you should stop playing for a bit if survivors have gotten you that upset

If i tunnel it likely isnt on purpose. Most of the time i return to where the person was unhooked and find them quickly, mostly because they are running to make distance seeming to forget i can seectgem thst way. So i usually redown the unhooked and look for the unhooker who typically walked away since i rarely am speedy killers. Mostly play wraith, doc, learning demo, sometimes huntress.
Punishing a killer because a potato farmed the hooked is backwards logic you might as well make DS baseline if you're going to do that.
You could leave the unhooked survivor slugged that gives you a lot of pressure also, chances are if you pick them up they have DS. So it’s the smarter move

@sad_killer_main said:
If you have been a killer main for years, I think you can answer yourself that question. I think the answer is pretty obvious.
There are several things going on that can make a killer frustrated:
- Unfair matchmaking: actually I'd say this is like the 80% of the problem (the rest would be the 2nd reason). If game after game you get beaten up by people of skill way above you, the only kills that you know you can have, you will want to ensure them. How? Camping, and tunneling. Of course not all of us do that, but it's a natural behavior to do so, when you know you can't win. At least, you want some bps, that's better than nothing.
- Extreme toxicity in survivors: when unfair matchmaking happens, you'd expect a kind behavior of survivors towards you, after they realize how unbalanced was the match due to the rank difference, your perks...etc. It's very easy to tell just by checking the rank+score+perks+addons if a person is new to the game, still learning, beginner, advanced, or pro. You don't need to be a genius to know this (if you have played the game enough of course). In general, no matter the way you play, you'll get toxicity/insults/harassment from survivors in the end chats. And you'll get it fairly often. If you haven't received this kind of hate speech against you, you are very lucky buddy.
Finally, I have to say that these reasons, are the ones that are making main killers to switch to survivor or just quit. There are more reasons obviously, but if you want to dig more into this matter, you can always go and ask in the DBD subreddit for killers (yes, there is one).
I hope that I have clarified all your doubts.
In a nutshell killers can’t accept the survivors played better, and instead of having the ‘gg’ moto they resort to this in order to keep their ego intact.
Call it bad sportsmanship or whatever you like, I’ll use “sportsmanship” loosely as it can be debated in a game

You said yourself that we all play this game to have fun, just because one thing isn't fun for you doesn't mean it isn't for the other. Maybe securing that one kill is in fact fun for them. At the end of the day it technically is easier to 3v1 there is no debate about that. Whether the man taken out was tunneled or not, a 3v1 is always easier than a 4v1.
When I play killer I don't tunnel unless certain conditions are met, but to the ones that do take the easy way out it's almost always a certain victory. You said you were aware that "tunneling" isn't considered -insert bad word- by BHVR, it may be frowned upon by the community but just because it's not fun for you why should the killer not be rewarded for doing his job? Which is killing.
"It’d derank killers into appropriate brackets until they learn how to play the game properly."
The only proper way to play this game is by not using exploits, hacks, or glitches that give an unfair advantage to the game. You not only want the killer to not receive bloodpoints for hooks, but you want them Deranked as well? I'm sorry but that shouldn't be a thing.
For the health and state of the game imo it should be considered, I’m sure we all know people that have left the game due to the survivors or killers being asshats.
Put yourself on the opposite end I’m sure you don’t like it, you might be ok with it. But it’ll get frustrating after a certain point

Sorry but no.. this doesnt put it to rest. As a solo survivor, unless you bring Detectives Hunch or a Rainbow Map, there's absolutely no way you can tell how many totems your team cleansed. This forces every single survivor to search for 5 totems with the mentality that none have been cleansed. Thus resulting in everyone wasting time searching for totems that could have already been cleansed.
While you're correct, they take 70 seconds to cleanse.. What you're failing to factor in is the amount of time it takes to find said totems which could easily be double the amount of time it takes to repair all 5 gens. Especially if you have those 1 or 2 rogue totems that were blessed by the entity to spawn in ridiculous spots.
You don’t need to know how many has been cleansed, it’s no different to survivors ignoring them and then NOED becomes activated. So many people are using that as their base argument.
One survivor will probably pass at least 1-2 totems during the game at minimum. Whether it’s from running to a gen, unhook, looping the killer. Simply having the outlook of ‘I’ll check the jungle gym I just passed’ while running to another gym reduces the risk of NOED being activated massively. If all survivors did this you’ve reduced the risk of NOED by 90%. that 10% being a sneaky totem.

I don’t understand why you don’t bother with totems unless you run a specific build, you’re telling me you don’t have a spare 14 seconds? I’m not saying you should go out of your way to find them. Simply running to a gen, going for a unhook, being chased by the killer you’ll spot a totem lol.

I'd say I don't see too much ignorance towards totems when I'm playing survivor. I usually run Inner Strength so I know the feeling about looking for totems, and finding out the randoms have already cleansed them. I think they need to add two things to help indirectly nerf noed.
1. Totem Counter
2. Perk relating to cleansing totems
I think if they added a totem counter then it would be perfect. It would tell survivors the risk they are running after completing the last generator.
I had an idea for a hex perk that would force survivors to cleanse all 5 totems at the beginning of the game.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/925/VWDISZLX5QTA.jpg
This perk would indirectly nerf noed. It would make killers choose would they rather have early game slowdown or late game pressure. Since this perk trumps other hex totems it means the perk cannot be run with ruin, thrill or noed.
I run inner strength too, such a under rated perk. I can agree on a totem counter, wouldn’t hurt. It’s be a lot like the gen counter

Even I don’t check if 5 totems are destroyed 😂I find them on my travels and that’s it.
I would recommend going around and checking for 5 broken totems. Treat this thread as enlightening, not one of ‘bro make sure you see 5 broken totems before you leave’
If everyone cleanses totems they spot in their travels 5 totems will be non existent for EGC

You can never be sure all totems are destroyed until you seen all 5 totems destroyed. Finding all totems, destroyed or not, takes forever and in solo queue where communication is nonexistent... All survivors must check totems which can easily win killers games due to the amount of time they wasted to confirm totems. 😄
Therefore, my stance on NOED, it's unhealthy for the game because it furthers the gap between solos and SWF.

Okay, doing your mathematics here, it takes a single survivor 5 minutes and 10 seconds to complete their objective without fear of NOED activating.
You forgot about travel time, pressure made by killers, and solo queue penalty. All these factors add approximately...
Another 5 minutes to completing their objective. Let's pretend survivors are being as efficient as possible and did generators by themselves: That removes 2 minutes and 40 seconds.
Now, let's add everything together: Assuming best case scenario, survivors can complete generators and totems within 7 minutes and 40 seconds. Since there's no knowing the killer has NOED, the survivors always have to assume the killer is using NOED.
Therefore, you can 4 perks while survivors have to assume you have NOED. 😄
You forget you can spawn next to totems, so chances are you’re instantly left with 4 totems if the survivor cleanses it, now throughout the unhooks, chases, heals etc etc chances are 4 survivors will at some point stumble across a totem. Survivors have no issue going back if it’s a lit totem. It’s the dulls that they’re “meh”
I just had a game on one of the corn maps, 1 survivor did two totems, I found another two on my travels while running to the next generator. The 5th was found later on because it was NOED 😂
That was as a solo survivor. I don’t get the huge deal . It’s like people get tunnel vision and gens are all that people see

I would take your advice of "do bones" if im playing swf but as solo this is unacceptable.
Why should survivors get punished so hard with something that isn't even a secondary objective? (yes it isn't a secondary objective cause there's no totem counter)
Doing bones in solo is either: killing your team and yourself or a waste of time where the other survs died thanks to you.
It’s not a secondary objective, because if the killer doesn’t have NOED it’s literally bones doing nothing.....
I’m not saying survivors should run around the map and make sure they find 5 broken totems, all I’m saying is if survivors lose their ignorance towards totems. And actually break them instead of running past them. (We’ve all seen this happen)
a lot less complaints would exist towards NOED because killers would stop running the perk

This isn't taking into account the time it takes to search for totems, the difficulty of spotting dull totems in many totem spawns, or the fact that most players are solo que and cannot communicate to their team how many totems they have done.
If there was a giant totem.in the middle of the map that took 70 seconds to cleanse, you might have a point.
Just so you are aware, an average search time for a totem is about 40 seconds. Assuming you only stumble upon 2 totems (including time to get there and cleanse, we'll call that 35 seconds). It then takes you another 3(40+14) = 162 seconds. Manageable for a good swf team, perhaps.
But what happens if you aren't a good swf team? What happens if you simply do not spot the totem your teammate destroyed? How much time will yiu waste before giving up? What happens if you waste all this time (and I'm giving you some really small numbers here) and you don't get to the last gen because the killer isn't even running NOED? What happens if you simply cannot find the 5th totem? How much time did you waste then? What happens if cleansing all totems immediately became meta? How much time would people waste searching for totems that don't even exist? How many games would have every dull cleansed in 2 minutes but have every survivor sacrificed because they were trying to find totems that had already been cleansed instead of doing their objective?
The 'counterplay' is stronger than the perk itself, which in itself is only a problem because it's an unearned second chance perk. You can literally get it by AFKing. That's not fair.
Thanks for the mature in depth response 👌🏻
I kept it at a base level as too many variables come into it. Survivors spawning next to a gen, are survivors running small game, detectives hunch, is it a ######### map. Etc etc
the counter argument would be ‘I don’t wanna have a wasted perk’ yet people are happy to run DS & BT against people who tunnel 🤷🏻♂️.
I’ve been playing survivor a lot more and the amount of survivors I’ve personally seen run straight past a totem and not even bother is mind boogling. 3 people on a gen, and I’m the one who cleanses the totem. The other two ran off. And then have the audacity to complain about NOED.
I’m not saying survivors should run around the map and make sure you can find five broken totems because that’s impossible.
what I am saying is if survivors lose their ignorance towards totems, you’ll probably find NOED procs a lot less

Swf removes the uncertainty from Hex perks. Why not solos too? It could be compensated with a neat buff like allowing killers to select hex positions and maybe even a small increase to the base totem cleansing time. And as always the devs are working on improving totem spawns.
Whoops wrong quote

Of course as a killer, you could just master your craft and not rely on No Ones Even Dead yet crutch
Ah the old “I don’t like how you play so you should change it” argument....

Well the only issue I have with NOED is that it's cheap and comes out of nowhere, and survivors have no idea it's coming, or if all the totems have even been cleansed. All we need for killers and survivors is a totem counter and that would be a good enough change for almost everyone.
Errrr you have totem counters.... Detective Hunch, Small Game, Maps.....

You just pointed out how doing totems makes survivors lose out on at least 17.5% of their objective in time and you want to use that as an argument FOR survivors doing bones? K.
Don’t do bones IDC, just don’t complain about it when it bites you via DH or NOED. That’s all I’m saying

Yeah sure, cause you dont have to rescue team mates, get chased, killer pressuring the map and find the gens it is always a 4 minutes match.
Sure you dont have to find totems cause they spawn next to each other so it is 70s, sureee bud!
Literally another stupid post with wrong maths lol.
And during that times survivors would’ve come across at least one totem the old “Oh a lit totem! I’ll come back to that later”...... Mmmmhmmmm

If I don’t know where the hatch is or the last survivor is I won’t slug, if it’s a sweaty SWF I’ll go the extra mile to make sure none of them will get out. IDC if it takes an extra 10 minutes
