How is it a bait? I see that excuse thrown around on the fourms so im making a discussion about it
Let me show everyone here how to let a bait thread die.
:) bye!
-
You're very good at starting bait threads.
I'm always surprised to see so many people responding so seriously.
-
This is kind of a bummer situation for this player. Is there any way you can remove the unwanted character and give them the character they intended to purchase?

For everyone who actually provided quality feedback on the idea. Thank you all and much appreciated.
For those who just called me "Survivor Main" or ect.. Here are my stats. I assure you I barely ever play survivor.
You're not trying hard enough :P

There would be too much additional work that would go into implementing this system and adjusting everything else to suit it.
Maybe they'll do this for DbD2.

Firstly, it's widely known that the matchmaking is terrible, but the good news is that we should be getting a new matchmaking system soon that will hopefully fix a lot of the issues with the current one.
Secondly, perks don't make as much of a difference as you've been led to believe. Killers who rely on specific perks to do well are not good killers. You would be better off looking into ways to improve using that killer's power (and possibly add-ons) without worrying too much about your loadout. By all means work your way towards unlocking teachable perks on the other killers, but don't look at perks as your ticket to success, or the reason why you're not doing well now, because they are neither of those things.
Also, if it helps, while it is demoralising to get crushed game after game, sometimes it can help to boost your morale if you remind yourself that the reason you lost was simply because those players are better and more experienced than you are, and that is to be expected and therefore there is no shame in losing in a situation like that. If you're getting matched against high-ranked players all the time, you can look at each game as a learning opportunity rather than a potential win. Learning is the goal, winning is a bonus. (The only reason I recommend this is because it's the mindset that I've trained myself to have when I'm learning a new killer, and I've personally found it extremely helpful.)
"Killers who rely on specific perks to do well are not good killers"
While I think I understand what you mean, this sentence sounds very elitist and unhelpful to this particular players problem. They don't have the experience to be a "good killer" and as a newer player do need perks to help them with any weakpoint in their build or playstyle.
If they have problems following scratchmarks they'll need predator.
If they have problems following blood they'll need bloodhound and sloppy butcher.
You need to remember that you're talking to a newer player who doesn't have the experience and skill you do to be able to play as a perkless killer and do well against a group of survivors with much more experience than you.

It's not indefinite, it's the killer getting massively outplayed at an unsafe pallet they refuse to kick. That's their own choice to make. Just like if a killer gets run for 5 gens....that is pure skill, map knowledge, and outplays on the part of the survivor. I'm sad the devs are going to cater to baby killers who want to automatically win because they saw a survivor. Not when you can be running someone like ghostface/wraith/etc and automatically be finding people.
Right now bloodlust is actually braindead, the only hope being that your team is rushing gens when you juke the killer over and over for a minute solid at the same pallet until he stacks up enough bloodlust to finally get a hit. If you are one of the last people alive? Well sorry, you just auto lose. What a scary game, but not for the reasons you might think.
If the survivor is running the same loop without leaving while they know the killer is building bloodlust who's getting outplayed? The survivor who won't leave the loop or the killer who's deliberately building bloodlust?
It's easy to call players names, but it's much more difficult to understand that sometimes a player is utilizing a particular tactic for a reason you might not understand.
Plus, "chase survivors for X seconds" dailies exist. You might not be outplaying the killer as much as you think you are.
-
I'm interested to hear from other new players who might share or disagree with this post.

Exactly, and that's why it will never proc in dead zones... oh wait! It already is.
There are a ton of dead zones where if you simply keep holding W, you get bloodlust tiers that you shouldn't have.
If you're running through a deadzone just holding W the killer will catch you without bloodlust since they run faster anyway.

But the killer should still be able to automatically win chases at half the pallets in the game given enough time right, regardless of survivor skill or ability?
Actually the devs have said that Survivors aren't meant to be able to run from the killer indefinitely.
So yes.
-
@LetsPlayTogether said:
There are no infinites.
Just in case you didn't know, the term "infinite" is used interchangeably with the statement that "a survivor can run a particular route through an obstacle that, if followed by a killer, will result in a chase exceeding the average chase time due to the breaks in chase and loss of LoS which will prevent bloodlust from assisting the killer in the chase."

Wow you mean survivors won't get punished for outplaying the killer? Nice!
There's a slight difference between outplaying a killer and utilizing pathing where a killer cannot catch a survivor regardless of skill or killer ability.

The numbers are temporary, they just want NOED to be more fun, variable, and interactive to use and play against. If you have something against that, for what reason other than bias?
Also, how can you call a perk that buffs your MS a weak choice?
Adding prerequisites to perks weakens them regardless of the reward.
-
Either way, this is what happens when insults are thrown out and biases are apparent.
The entirety of the message is ignored and the thread devolves into circular conversations that have nothing to do with the OP.
There's a lesson to be learned here. Hopefully the OP learned it.

It's not an insult. It's a warning.
You're only a liar if you say that you never encountered any of these issues.
Regardless of your intention. It's inflammatory and detracts from your message.
-
Tying a non-hex perk to totems is probably a weak choice if you're also adding prerequisites to activate the perk.
The movement buff is interesting even without the 2nd effect but would probably be too powerful when combined with other effects. Especially if you consider the map changes and the cries for bloodlust changes.
The second iteration of NoED had a timer as well which was later turned into a Hex totem. You'd essentially be changing it back but adding an additional effect to it along with conditional effects effectively neutering the perk without simply solving the one problem you have with the perk.
Your first sentence belies your bias.
-
I stopped after the op called everyone a Liar in a blanket statement.
Less people are inclined to have a discussion when the OP decides to insinuate and insult the readers in order to preemptively defend what I'm assuming is a wildly out of touch take on the current situation.
tl;dr - Don't insult readers in the 2nd sentence if you want them to read your absurdly long post, let alone listen and take you seriously.
-
It's not confirmed, but was mentioned along with the MMR system they talked about. Once their new ranking and matchmaking systems were setup and functioning they said they might work towards individual killer rankings.
But it'll be years to come.

I've had a concept for a crow based killer for years lol

Don't know if your post is really constructive. Being able to play low tier killers is what the game needs. You shouldn't be forced to play other killers you don't enjoy because your favorites are dog poop. But yeah Legion is pretty bad.
And you have no idea if he's good or bad at the game. He said killer is stressful. And there's really no argument to that. Being able to win is more fun. And that's why the switch to survivor to get the victories is always a good method.
I've joined you op! I have been playing only survivor the last two weeks and it's a lot of fun. I'm surprised I like it so much.
I wouldn't worry about that particular poster. All the replies they've given in the past few days have amounted to "It's your fault".
It's basically a troll account made by someone with nothing better to due while they're stuck at home :)

This is how you lie with statistics :) Good job!
Let's ignore the fact that many more gamers are staying home. There was a 1.5 bloodhunt during the same period as well as a new chapter.
The largest peak the game has had was 75k but the average playerbase did not increase after that peak. Why?
The average playerbase ranges between 25 and 30k players. Which means the number of people who begin playing the game is the same as the number of people who leave the game.
The growth you're seeing now is due to some very specific set of situations, but there is no real growth. Only stagnation.
Keep an eye on your chart by the end of the year. The average players will drop to what it has been over the years and the game will continue to not see any significant growth in the playerbase.
There are many reasons for this, but it's irrelevant right now.
The game isn't dying...
But it's not really alive and kicking either.
-
Nurse is working as intended.
The same fixes will be coming to the rest of the killers in future patches.
-
As long as people buy tiers to complete the rift they'll never change it because people spend money to avoid the grind.
This is the entire point of the battlepass.
Not so you get cosmetics or content.
So they get your $$
-
As a Hag, it's possible to end a chase even before it begins. You might be on the right track, but solely basing it on chase time won't work.
-
Same guys that thought pallet and flashlight stuns needed to be easier.
Same guys that thought the original DS was ok.
Same guys that thought the original MoM was ok.
Same guys that thought map sizes were ok.
Same guys that thought keys and moris are ok.
Same guys that think Legion is ok.
Same guys that think Nurse is ok.
Same guys who think Camping is ok.
Same guys who think the Waterlogged shoe is ok.
And they think they did a pretty good job so far...

-
I play like rank doesn't matter.
I'll hunt the weaker survivors, I'll hit you off the hook, I'll eat that DS, I'll slug everyone if they let me.
Sometimes I'll let you crawl on the ground and beg for death by spinning at a hook.
Sometimes I'll destroy the obvious toxic 2-man and let the others finish gens.
It depends on my mood, but I like hooking survivors most.

Thats the point. As a game dev, you never design a character, perk, or addon with the intention of it never being used. Some items are better than others (by their ranking system), but balancing screws these items. Rules Set No. 2 is an Iridescent addon, but no one will say its as good on Pig as Black Incense, Coxcombed Clapper, or Iridescent King is on their respective Killers. Picking and choosing will essentially vastly increase the amount of 'good' addons used while neglecting the 'bad' ones. The RNG aspect of the Bloodweb, while tedious at times, forces players to get creative with the addons they have, adding more diversity into the game.
Should these bad addons be adjusted or reworked? Absolutely. But theres no way to know how unless the devs get data on how they're already being used, as well as making builds slightly more random.
You're taking this too seriously. This will never happen, it's just a fun thread without complaining or ranting. Stick to the OP.

The same can be said with infinites, a bad game design beneficiant for one role, and instead of using bamboozle and "adapt" in all the matches, all the people here came asking for them to be nerfed, made it to get what they wanted, not adapting and ask the devs to change it.
Just like the author of this discussiom
Is being unable to disable a trap from a high vantage such a bad design flaw that it needs to be complained about in general instead of being reported as a bug or suggestion?
The degree of importance between the two situations are greatly different.
Also, yes the same can be said for all the situations you've mentioned but they impact matches to a much greater degree than the situation mentioned in this thread and warranted the cries for change.
This is a very simple situation that has a very simple solution.
It's your and the OP's choice to ignore this fact.
I'm done, enjoy replying to your hearts content.
-
Let them rebuild a pallet, but they get splinters in their hands so they're unable to drop a pallet for the rest of the match :)

@OtakuBurrito I'm watching now and he specifically says he's quitting bc he's not interested in sweaty/boring matches on the ptb. He hasn't said much about map sizes/dead zones and complained that some windows are still too strong like ironworks/cowshed.
In my survivor main dictionary it says;
Boring = The Killer is skilled and doesn't fall for mindgames or 360's which doesn't make for good YT content.
Sweaty = The Killer is playing with the intention of Sacrificing all 4 survivors.

If you don't have a flashlight, crouch and get adapted. If you have a flashlight, but the game is so bad done that it won't let you turn the canera more don't, get adapted.
At the end, all the arguments have to end in get adapted because of the bad design of the game?
Ask yourself this question.
You as a player, can you actually change the coding of the game to change this situation? Then by all means please do.
If you can't, there's nothing else you can do except adapt your tactic and playstyle to account for this bad design or coded situation and get through it successfully with your own skill and ingenuity.
I'm not giving you a generic troll answer, I'm literally telling you to find a way to deal with the situation you're facing with the tools you have available since you can't change the code of the game yourself.
That is what it means to adapt.
-
Let's see what the asymmetrical gaming landscape looks like in a month or two and then we can have this discussion.
It's too early right now and everyone is in the honeymoon phase of new game bliss.
-
@Angelicus23 said:

The thing is to destroy the trap with distance, so crouch could be unnecessary.
If it can't be destroyed at a distance crouching becomes necessary.
Adapt.
-
Crouch until you're on the same level and then use the flashlight instead of trying to flashlight it while standing on stairs?
-
Cleanse totems.
-
I imagine it will be like the Original Pale Rose map compared to the Current Pale Rose map.
The changes will be noticeable, but they're not going to exactly be game changing by themselves. The tile and jungle gym changes on top of it though are what make this patch very exciting.
-
Bloodlust was a bandaid fix to the original pallet problem when it was introduced rather than adjusting the pallets themselves and was never effective at fixing the problem.
If a killer gains bloodlust, they're either playing poorly or the loop is strong. If a loop is too strong, a survivor can drop the chase by walking for a moment at the right time resetting the killer's BL and creating a pseudo infinite.
If the devs adjusted pallets with more caution (as they might be with the upcoming map changes) Bloodlust wouldn't even be necessary.
It's always been time for bloodlust to go. It was just a matter of waiting for the devs change the maps and pallets themselves instead of creating a built-in perk to fix it for them.
-
Bait thread.
OP will continue to argue nonsensical arguments for the remainder of the thread.
Carry on.
-
This is interesting.
I'm excited to see how the changes actually are implemented.
-
He does.
It's called "Reload"
