This mentality is what is the problem

  • It is just like always "whoever brings the strongest stuff" sided

I would honestly argue that at base it's leaning more towards killer now

  • MoM is actually a decent perk now. Not great ofcourse but decent, miles better then it was before

Solo wouldn't be so bad if players picked more information perks and learned how to use them instead of trying to copy the swf meta

Tunneling isn't going to be fixed by trying to punish killers who do it. What you need is to make 3v1 less enticing for the killer.

Legion is fine how they are now.

Prerework Freddy was the best version of Freddy and only needed a handfull of tweeks. Incapacitated on dream transition alone would have fixed 90% of their issues

Trapper benifited the most out of the changes of any killer and has easilly jumped up 2-3 tiers because of them

The mayority of the community are as clueless or even more so about the game then they claim the devs to be

    My avatar says it all

You main the entirety of DbD at once?

  • The 5 second endurance pretty much means the unhooked survivor can always reach a tile.

IF the unhooker takes a hit!! The survivor you unhooked even is faster then you are. It's so easy to place yourself between them and the killer now

Imo if your team doesn't take any hits for you they can't complain about tunneling

  • In the end of the day the balance of the game didn't change that much.

Whoever brings the strongest stuff wins.

It's just that at base now killers have the advantage instead of survivors

Wraith and Nurse interact with the Spirit World.

Spirit interacts with the Ethereal Plane.

    Onryo interacts with the Otherworld.

    Freddy gets the Dream World.

Dredge gets.... nothing named, actually. Huh...

    Turkeyport

  • It got changed

It's now 2% per injured survivor with a 12% bonus when they are 4 affected

    So 2%/4%/6%/20%

Compare this perk with killer perks that regress 10,15.20%, reduce speed by 20,30%... It’s a joke. And yes, I know there are 4 survs, but if you think in 16 perks then this speed reduction is not 30%, but 120%

That's ... not how it works

30% slowdown is 30% slowdown. You don't magically multiply it by the number of survivors

If it had a speedreduction of 120% you would be regressing gens by working on them...

Another band-aid perk for solo survivors.

SWF = Hey dude, killer started chase me. Go and finish my gen. It was next to main building, near to hill.

Solo = Use the Rookie Spirit.

    No, thanks.

Well yeah but that's how the game is now.

I wish more Solo players realised that SWF meta and Solo meta are 2 completely different things

Games would go easier if they equiped those band-aid perks sometimes

    I took the numbers you've put in the post and simply did : 1.22 * 90 - 1.2 * 80

The comment about the cooperation or perks is just to see what that number becomes in these cases, and I didn't even think about toolboxes.

I never use these myself so I don't know the numbers. The killer has brought a perk to slow gens down? What if survivors do the same? With toolboxes? Together?

It should be a nice table.

Aah that's not how slowdown works

You have to divide by the number of charges a survivor does. A survivor normally does 1 charge per second. If thana slows down that survivor by 22% they work at (1-0.22) 0.78 charges per second

Then you take the 90 charges to complete a gen and devide by the amount the survivor works to get how long it takes

    So 90/0.78= 115.4 seconds

Here is a table about how long it takes with different versions of thana and gen times. This is without survivors bringing anything

13.8, not that it far off.

It is really 2% ... it's just not the whole picture.

Thinking about it, this is only if a survivor does a generator alone, which would be typically done in a gen-rush.

I don't recall the buffs doing gens cooperatively, or with speed-boosting perks. (Because they exist too.)

Where do you get the 13.8 from if i may ask? I could have made a mistake

i don't think co-op or speedboosting perks were changed so there is no real difference in that department from before and after the big update.

    Unless i'm missing some

  • In the optimal world it's managable but it's especially harsh against survivors that get stuck or are trying to spin.

It's really important now to anticipate a hit and have a plan of where to go.

  • 20% of 80 charges vs 22% of 90 charges is a difference of 15 seconds

To get the value thana had if gens were still 80 base then it would have had to be buffed to 7,5% per survivor to a max of 30%

I know they did thana dirty but saying "it got only buffed by like 2%" is just wrong.

  • What the heck are you people doing?

I'm using the new MoM just fine? Imo it's a ton more usefull then it was before.

That only possible usefull scenario you described is something you can do pretty much everymatch against bodyblockable killers and helps so much to slow down tunneling. Not to mention that it makes you the obession so it ruins stbl users which there are quite a few of

The aura reading should almost never come into play. You just got a shield. You stick to the player that's getting tunneled. If the killer leaves far enough to read your aura that means they aren't getting tunneled anymore and the perk did it's job.

You can then even let the tunneled person heal you before you heal them and you'll be able to protect them when the killer comes back cause you'll either have endurance or be healthy again

I have stopped dead hooks by being able to bodyblock a hook for 3 hits. Add unbreakable and there isn't even a risk of getting slugged if the killer decides to keep going after the survivor that just got off.

Not to mention it's infinite endurance at the end game cause conspicious actions aren't a thing for the most part

It's not a great perk by any stretch cause of how many killers you can't bodyblock but against those the old version would have sucked too. Even more so.

I have a feeling people don't really remember just how bad the previous version was. Or they remember the 2 games they had where it did something and are forgetting the 20 matches before that where they throwed the game trying to activate it

Against killers that aren't nurse or bubba i have been able to activate it every time. The previous version it was a miracle if it even activated in the first place. That alone makes the new version that much better. It doesn't matter how much stronger the old effect was if it almost never happened in the first place

The bug that makes you lose endurance on down sucks but even with that it's still so much more concistant then the previous version.

Are people just that bad at bodyblocking? Are they forgetting just how terrible the previous version was? I really don't understand how anyone can concidder this version to be that much worse then the meme that was the previous one

you try it then too maybe??

dh is bugged right now and almost fully unplayable. You cannot use it on pallets at all. You get exhausted on the ground although you timed it perfectly. Dont write sth when you dont play the perk now

    Not exactly bugged

It's just that the duration is shorter then the animation. Exhausted on the grounds means you were very slightly too early

  • Can't tunnel what you can't find

  • I would say twins but i've had a couple of daillies with them and somehow enjoying it quite a bit.

Other then that i really wouldn't know

Either i really enjoy the killer or atleast one of their perks

  • You would probably be surprised sometimes how old the real immature people are

  • I wish i could play it more but he's kind of disorientating so i can't really play multiple matches in a row

  • I'm loving the new MoM

It's a pretty good anti tunnel perk for your teammates now.

Just one protection hit and a heal and you are set up for a double body block

Add unbreakable and you can tripple bodyblock a hook for someone on deadhook which pretty much guarenties they get off if they actually bother to wiggle

Then the killer either has to let the deadhook survivor go to hook you or chase after them allowing you to pick yourself up and already have a stack ready for the next time you heal

It's never going to be a top tier perk cause of how bodyblocking doesn't work against some killers bit concidering how meme tier it was before i really don't see the nerf everyone is talking about.

It's all around a much more usefull perk

  • Legion is the best probably as each frenzy stab counts for a brutality hit as well. You can even double stab some people if you don't care about giving them a speedboost

Mickey with mirror gives a lot of brutality bp too i think

Trapper with padded jaws allows you to hit a healthy survivor in a trap twice for more brutality

  • Honestly the idea the devs had of adding icons to the survivor hud when they do stuff is good

They just have to... you know do it

If Wesker isn't even a little bit chatty I will genuinely be disappointed - It's a character with a huge ego and personality. I want to see that emulated in game. Even if it's primarily focused on the Resident Evil cast I need to hear Wesker talk. He's such an amazing character.

    He probably will right?

Would be a bit silly to hire a voice actor just for 2 lines in the trailer

What you described is a nerf my friend, unless you're running a SWF this perk is a gimmick that wastes your own time more than it wastes the Killer's and even in a SWF there's still better perks to use instead

Sure, the requirements in order to activate MoM are now lower which leads for more streamlined usage however the trade-off is you lose Endurance the second you do anything of value which was the only unique thing about MoM. The time you spend soaking those 2 protection hits just to get the reworked Endurance is better spent on gens or resetting with nearby teammates which now deactivates the perk.

In this new meta Survivors have less room for downtime than ever and MoM now encourages people to prolong the gens even more than usual just to get value out of the Walmart version of Off the Record and Dead Hard. I can use DH as long as I get M1d (every single game) and as many times as I can recover from Exhausted. I get OTR guaranteed every time I get off a hook AND I can stack that with DS if I really wanted to dissuade a hard-tunnel

How many protection hits are you going to get in a single match on average? Now ask yourself how many times the Killer is naturally going to be in a position for you to body-block them without wasting too much of your time following behind them waiting. Now ask yourself how many gens you think your soloq teammates will finish while you're interrupting the Killer's chase and then running away to go reset yourself. Finally, ask yourself how many times the Killer is going to either commit to you when they see your MoM aura from far away or stop tunneling their original target just to focus on the guy that's now mending from Endurance because he activated MoM.

MoM now forces you to play offensively 100% of the time which is not a good strategy to use every match. You're literally giving the Killer free built in slowdown by artificially extending his chase (temporarily and they're still eventually going to catch the person anyway) AND forcing yourself to mend and heal afterwards which now means 2 people aren't on gens instead of 1

I've been using it since it got changed and been activating and using it consistantly 1 to 2 times against killers that are bodyblockable.

I've also been escaping way more often as well.

In this new meta i have come to the conclusion that you can't outrace the killer anymore in objectives. If they tunnel and make the game a 3v1 asap you lose. Atleast in SoloQ

I have found it to be way more effective to have 2 survivors preventing the killer from turning the game in a 1v3 and 2 on gens then 3 survivors on gens and 1 dying rapidly.

Atleast in my games the moment it becomes a 1v3 the killer wins unless the gens are done at the same time.

Maybe that changes if you get teammates that know how to run a killer but in my experience it's almost single handely saving my soloq against any killer that isn't nurse or bubba

Also pair it with unbreakable and you have a guarentied wiggle off after 1 bodyblock+heal. I can just sit by the hook and take 3 hits. Usually the survivor gets off by the second but even if they don't the killer now has to choose between continueing to tunnel and giving me a free unbreakable pickup or hooking me and thus spreading hooks.

Are you just theorycrafting or have you actually tried making MoM work? In my experience not only has it been buffed but it has been buffed significantly

  • Long time ago but i played a match as Legion and i was doing terrible

I just lost survivors left and right. They all just suddenly dissapear into smoke

Halfway through the match suddenly realised i had my headphones on backwards so when i heard survivors on my left they were actually on my right.

    Felt a bit silly

  • Rookie spirit from Leon is unironically a pretty good perk to run now.

Let's you know which gen is regressing so you can stop it asap

  • @IlliterateGenocide said:

It really does. Especially if they can stun or even just pushback the killer with them. And maybe even make it so you can only lock the door during the stun animation. For precise timing

It's also a interresting choice for the killer.

They could break the wall then to continue chasing or they could choose to leave it be to create dead ends for future chases

  • @squbax said:

Is it boring? Absolutely yes, is it non original? Yes absolutely, but what else can legion do? They are a meme killer, they have no real power if the survivors are at the very least decent, and as much as I am for teaching people to not pick m1 jokes, it seems its the only thing that can make legion a threat, with that being said If the devs make it so that legion is way worse, im all for it.

People should learn to play good killers, if people drop the joke thats legion and play something good, imo its a good change.

I'll play who i want thank you.

No matter how good or a joke you think they are.

  • So kinda like breakable walls that the survivors have to activate?

    Sounds cool

  • I will probably instabuy it.

    Wesker is just awesome

  • I just stopped looking at the lobby

I just press ready and tab out. Much less of a worry that way

  • To be fair there is a chat box before the match begins. You could actually tell your teammates to let go of the gen when someone is about to get hooked.

Atleast on pc, don't know about console

  • MoM wasen't a nerf

How more concistant it is makes up for the effect being slightly weaker. Been able to activate and severely hamper to outright stop tunneling attemps of pretty much every killer that is bodyblockable i faced.

The only thing holding it back now is the bug.

I'm going to keep dying on this hill. People who think that bodyblock, heal, bodyblock, heal, bodyblock for 1 extra healthstate is better then bodyblock, heal for a double bodyblock are out of their mind

  • Seems like a lot of people didn't thibk about the fact that it was a BHVR stream and not a exclusive DbD stream

  • I've been having a blast with it.

Pretty much getting something out of it against every bodyblockable killer

Most of the times it activates 2 times a match

  • I knew you would be complaining even before i saw the trailer

  • Him being good is nice and all

But god i hope he has voice lines

"You will not live to see the dawn" was so good

  • They are going to throw everybody for a loop and the killer is going to be William Birkin

Even going so far as letting out fake leaks trust me

That or it's going to be springtrap aka William Afton. Wouldn't that be a surprise

  • If you use dark devotion you can use terror radius perks on Freddy.

If they take away all the usefull perks you might as well go full meme

  • @feffrey said:

Ok there is some unpacking here unless mettle of man can be activated more than once here is what was said

Taking 2 protection hits will now activate Mettle of Man, granting the Endurance status effect. While the Endurance effect is active, your aura will be revealed to the Killer when they are further than 12/14/16m away. Like other Endurance effects, performing a Conspicuous Action will cause it to deactivate prematurely, and it will not protect you from entering the dying state if you already have Deep Wounds.

Meaning once you gain it you can't do anything in the game which makes you a useless teammate that chases the killer chasing a survivor. Giving him to kills instead of 1

When you can apply more pressure by knocking out gens I do not see this perk being any useful especially killers that's good about ignoring body blocking or protection hits

Most m1 killers can't ignore body blocking if it's done right. New MoM is a really good anti tunnel perk.

With the latest update you can't really outrace the killer in objectives if they are efficient anymore. If you aren't actively trying to stop tunneling you are helping the killer.

2 survivors preventing the killer from gaining progress on his objective while 2 sit on gens is better then 3 survivors on gens and one rapidly dying now.

A full slowdown killer who tunnels will completely lock the game down the second one survivor is dead

With the old MoM you had to bodyblock, heal, bodyblock, heal and bodyblock again before you could get any value

Now one bodyblock and a heal is enough to have a double bodyblock available for someone being tunneled. Even in solo this can really prolong the lives of your teammates.

The new one is more consistant in what it does and it does it well. That the end result of the previous version was better doesn't matter if it was never achieved without throwing the game

  • Somebody here recently had the really good idea that you could click on any node and it would purchase the cheapest way towards it.

Maybe something you can do before the entity appears if it's to hard to do with it included

  • Because at it's core it's just a really good game.

  • Unplayable is a big word.

It's harder yes but that doesn't make it unplayable.

I'm enjoying survivor a lot more now honestly. I don't escape as much as i used to but when i do it feels like i really earned it.

  • I don't see it

It's in my eyes a much better perk then it was before. By a mile.

Helps with tunneling and completely destroys stbfl.

Especially with how meme tier it was before i can't see how anyone can call this a nerf.

Every day i am more and more convinced that it's not the devs but the community who are clueless about the game.

    Maybe even both

1 … 26 27 28 29 30 … 142
