Mostly because people play it way to much
It's a very addicting game which leads to people who play it constantly
Which in itself is ofcourse not a bad thing but no matter how you look at it this game has tension, which often leads to frustrations
And people just let those frustrations build up, to the point that everything frustrates them
Imo DbD is a game best played on the side, having a more relaxing game to play after a frustrating dbd game makes a world of difference
The "Play Civilitation" meme actually has a big truth behind it
I can't remember the last time i got annoyed or frustrated at this game
-
At firat i was confused why people are responding to this seriously even when OP already stated it's a bait
But then it hit me
They are baiting too

Yeah random luck, can really make getting certain perks a pain. I must of spend like half a million or more blood points, just to get pop on my Oni and max it out. For my bloody luck is awful. That all before getting into certain killers that might relay heavily on their add ons, to be the most effective killer they can be.
Which the cheapest decent/good build i can think of for a survivor just starting out. One that will be useful to them. Would be if they go with Claudette, max out botany knowledge to tier three, self care any tier will do, max tier spine chill and resilience. Which relays on a bit of random luck, to get the perks you want. So the cost of it will be a bit random. Yet you might be able to get it for under a million blood points, if you are a brand new player and have not unlocked any other teachable perks.
Since resilience, faster gens, vaulting when injured. Spine chill, warning about the killer and works great against sneaky killers. Along with faster vault speed, making it combine well with resilience when injured. With both of them helping to boost up your healing ability, for yourself and others. Making self care not take forever. Along with being able to do a nice 99% heal up trick, to keep that gen speed boost. Than heal to full when in danger. Of course this would relay on the new player, knowing about this good combo and going for it first and not something else. Since any other build i can think off the top of my head for a survivor, would take easily a few million blood points just to unlock all the perks as teachable.
Which a simple and easy way to cut down on the grind a bit, would be to boost up the rewards for the dailies. Like make even the lowest one 50k. Which would be enough for a single level 50 blood web, if one spends their points wisely.
I think the devs are a bit iffy about increasing the amount of bloodpoints because they ran into the problem that the higher rarity offering/items were seen every single game
Imo the best way to combat the grind is to get rid of random perks all together
Make it so whenever you pick a perk in the bloodweb you get to choose wich one
It doesn't really reduce the grind to get everything but it will make it smoother to play the things you want to play
If you suddenly came up with a funny build on a killer it's only a maximun of 12 bloodwebs away

If you only play 2-3 games per day you are most likely at levels where you can deal without the hardcore builds. Probably 70-80% of the perks in the game are garbage as it is. It's not like you need to level more than 3-4 killers/survivors to get almost everything that is meta. But hey, if you need cruel limits just that bad, go ahead and P3 demo.
Problem is the perks are completly random as well so it's very possible you need to go through the 70-80% garbage perks to get the good ones
And it's not because i don't play 6 hours a day that i don't want variety. I like messing around with quirky builds it's fun
Not saying the grind should be completly removed but it could be a little less extreme
-
@Shocktober said:
You can run double BP perks on both killer or survivor. Killer in particular can farm BP hard, 80k+ a game if you perform well. BBQ + Survivor Pudding will let you get up to 96,000 BP a game. Sure, the grind is brutal if you don't have BBQ or WGLF, but WGLF is free, and many new killers level up bubba first specifically for BBQ.
So 96 000 BP per game
So it takes like 10-11 games to get to the cap
1 milion get's you about 30 bloodlevels
69 killer perks right now times 3 levels per perk is 207 levels you need to go through to unlock everything
Each level you can get 2 perks so 3,5 times the cap unlocks everything for 1 killer. So for 19 killers is about 66,5 times (so close to 666 lol)
That's 732 perfect games to get everything on all killers
You'll ofcourse not get 732 survivor puddings/bps so the actual number is probably in the 1000ths
That's killers only, no survivor or prestige
Now imagen being a casual player that plays like 2-3 games a day
They could take a look at the grind tbh

This hypothetical one shotter must not know about using chase perks, mindgames, doesn't know how to run tiles correctly, and just tunnels 1 person for 5 gens through god windows. Anyone who thinks a killer who gets free damage is bad is only comparing him against the best of the best red rank SWFs all running 4x second chance perks. Nobody stops to think how it will play out in your ordinary game, because you don't remember those games. Only the ones where you got stomped on by a SWF.
But honestly this one shotter is already in the game, and his name is Billy. And he comes with insane map pressure and 115 as well.
The OP did ask where the HoS (hypthetical one shotter) would fit in a tierlist so it's only fair to assume opposing survivors have atleast some clue what they are doing
Once again the closest thing that resembles this is Plague and Legion where the survivors stay injured all game
And they are 115ms killers that have stall/ a strong ranged attack for atleast a minute and are ussualy conciddert mediocre for most people. Even with proper mind games chase perks and running tiles correctly.
Note i'm not saying it's impossible to win with the HoS. Just that if you won with him you probably could have done the same if not better with the above mentioned killers. which once again are not concidert the best

Plague needs a few minutes to build up to it, similar to perma tier 3 myers. I think nobody plays plague because her character design is pretty boring, as well as her gameplay. Not because she isn't strong.
I dread seeing a plague at high ranks because it means unless your team are all looping gods it's going to be a really annoying match. Or you get her on like Hawkins or something and now you are a 1 shot all game and every pallet is unsafe. Still better than having to go against Billy, Freddy, or Spirit for the 10th time in a row though.
115ms is worth the build up tbh, Legion is in the same boat as survivors generally don't heal against them
So we have 2 killers that are bassicly insta downs with 115ms and they are both conciddert mediocre to bad
The hypothetical 110 ms oneshotter stands no chance against experienced survivors imo
-
The trick is to not take the game so serious, it's a lot less frustrating that way
-
They should also make it that when he has his ultra rare addon the "Redhead's Pinky Finger"
and he throws a bottle against himself he get's exposed as well
-
Kinda interresting how divided people are on this

I really like this thought experiment. It's a thought experiment. I don't know why people are taking it so seriously.
Yeah. It would be boring. Obviously. That's not the point of the experiment.
I say underpowered. A 110-er (permanent insta down m1 or not) is very easy to loop. PWYF would instantly be meta and camping would be a nightmare, but overall a weak killer.
Still tiered higher than Legion or Clown though.
I think it would be even below that
Legion becomes a 115 ms killer with insta downs after the early game if the survivors don't heal so stricktly better
And Clown atleast has a decent chase

I'm honestly done responding to someone who clearly has hardly any killer knowledge/experience.
That's a rude way of saying "I'm out of arguments" it's even the first time you responded to me
Getting a free hit once in a while is not the same as winning chases or the game
Once again a Legion or a Plague where the survivors don't heal/cleanse is a stronger version of this concept
Do you think they are horrible overpowered too?

Jesus Christ....
YouTube
"No Blink Nurse"
You'd be surprised how many people get a 4k at red Ranks.
And typically, you want to use your power as Nurse as soon as you SEE someone, but you can literally walk to a survivor and they'll get caught either way.
Spirit gets hits without the use of her power.
Hag gets hits without the use of her power.
Huntress gets hits without the use of her power.
Deathslinger gets hits without the use of his power.
All 110% speed killers. Making a 110% killer with a 1 hit ability would be insanely overpowered.
It would be a noobstomper killer
Against inexperienced survivors they would be really good
Against experienced ones he would be useless
Plague with no fountains is bassicly this at 115% movement speed with the added benefit that hiding is harder against her
Now how many plague's do you see?
-
That's bassicly Legion or prebuff-Plague if the survivors don't heal/cleanse
Edit: nvm. Forget about the 110% movement thingy. It would be pretty bad though. Boring too tbh
-
I'm not a nurse player so take my opinion with a grain of salt but i think thw biggest problem with her (outside of the bugs) is that there is no middle ground
A bad nurse is a joke
A mediocre nurse is bad
A good nurse is mediocre at best
An expert nurse is the strongest thing in the game
It's up to debate if such a skill-heavy character is necesarry a bad thing though

It’s better then letting it build up lol
You could also take a break to calm down
Works a lot better imo
I know the play civilitation instead is quite the meme but it's actually golden advice to really keep enjoying this game
-
While it is true that if you master her she becomes insane. The time and effort required to do so is simply not worth it
The same amount of effort for any other top to mid tier killer and you will destroy survivors just the same
Without having to go to a bad learning experience and you will actually get better at other killers too
-
An eye for an eye makes the world blind

Why would you want survivors to stop unhooking within 5 seconds of someone being hooked? That's great. You should WANT that.. it means they sat there doing nothing. Then they just made it easy for you to down them both.
Because I am also one of those survivors that get downed instantly after getting unhooked because a teammate couldn't wait for the killer to walk away
-
A good solution would have been while you are carrying someone aura's are shown in your terror radius
Helps against sabotage without exposing survivors on the other side of the map
And on the plus side if it was popular enough would stop those survivors rushing in and unhooking you 5 seconds after you got hooked
Would have had neat synergy with agitation too
-
Not completly but i wouldn't be against that if you run against a survivor for 5ish seconds you then clip through them
Removing it completly would mean multiple survivors could run the same loop which would be horrible
-
First there is a perk against facecamping
It's called BBQ&Chilly
It rewards killers for not doing it wich works infinitivly better then punishment
Second that would be the worst perk in the game, would you really waste a perk slot just for the off chance a killer facecamps you?
-
Way to go!! Good job
-
As a general sense no camping or instant tunnel, let everyone have a chance to play
Just realise that you can't please anyone. Some survivors will only regard you a nice killer if you let them win while others would be insulted by that pity
In the end play how it feels good for you
-
Like breakable walls?
-
Next chapter brings Cujo as killer and Lassie as survivor
-
Not really, most of the time tunneling is capitelising on survivors mistakes. there are tons of things you can do against it too
Ds and borrowed time are the obvious ones as stunning the killer or getting the swipe animation usually buys enough time to get to a pallet or window
Iron will alows you to sneak away same with perks like dance with me
Once you reach a pallet or window all is fair game again
People just need to accept that when they get unhooked they are vulnerable by game design
That's the punishment of getting hooked in the first place

The act itself isn't what I'm largely frustrated over. It's the fact that people can justify it the way that they do.
I understand the whole "I payed for the game, I can play how I want" argument, but it just doesn't hold up when I payed money and I can't play at all. What I'm trying to do is simply remind people that there is a human being on the other side of the screen, and probably has paid as much money as you to play the game and being denied that.
What I'm trying to do is help us improve as a community by hopefully convincing people to use some common sense and mutual respect for each other. If they teabag or toxic flashlight clicky, DS/BT abuse or any of that sort of thing, then they get what's coming to them. But doing it to an innocent who hasn't provoked you in any way? That's just rude.
I can understand where you're coming from. We do play games to enjoy ourself after all.
And you are right that this community could use some more mutual respect for another
The thing is not everybody sees the same actions as provoking
For example you find that getting tunneled is them not alowing you to play the game
For me the biggest part of the gameplay is getting chased. And while you're tunneled you are chased with a disadvantage that doesn't make it any less gameplay
So if i play killer and someone unhooks someone right in front of me, i will down the unhooked person again if i get the chance before chasing the unhooker
Not with the intent to provoke or annoy that person but with the tought of capitelising on mistakes
The view on what is toxic or not just is different from person to person. Sometimes it's good to take a step back and think if the other person did it with the intent of provoking or if they are just playing the game

Again. It's NOT about me having fun, it's about literally not being able to play the game. I can't play if I just get targeted right off the bat and deleted.
So, your fun be damned too because active campers and tunneller WILL drive players away. Same with obnoxious flashlighters and DS/BT abusers. It's only a matter of time.
That "matter of time" has been lasting for 4 years now. IMO, Let players play how they want
If these things are getting so frustrating it's a sign you need a break or at least deal back on the number of games you play
This game is only frustrating if you allow it to build up
-
It's a good perk for learning the game actually
Running that perk for a while and you'll quickly learn totem spots
Detective hunch is mostly better but it's a dlc perk and has to be unlocked
That said playing against Freddy or Hag will make it constantly go of and make you paranoid as hell
-
Perfectly normal actually
See this is how it works take the rank of all the survivors and get the average which in this case is 39/4=~10
Then we multiply it by 2 because they have to face the power role that is killer and we reach rank 20
So perfectly balanced match
That's also why you only will face rank 1's after you pass rank 8
-
The game itself is actually not really competitive it just brings out such a nature in people
It's a lot more enjoyable if you play the game for what it is, simple casual fun
A lot of people don't see it like that though
-
Yeah well with the quarentine my entire family of 5 is at home mostly online and because of that is destroying our poor connection
So i just went to single player games for the time being untill i can get stable internet again
Which is the responsible thing to do
I know it sucks but compared to others, not being to play our favorite multiplayer game really isn't that big of a deal
-

Feel free to share your opinion.
Lol Freddy all the way on the bottom in a tierlist of his own
Some things never change eh?
-
I would probably best resemble ghostface from the movies
No not scream, the "scary movie" movies where he is stumbeling all over the place
-
That's actually his mating call
If he roars at you that means he likes you.
Reaalllyy likes you
-
Good survivors will still be able to survive just as good killers were still able to kill without ruin
That the less experienced survivors will struggle a bit and drop down to a rank they actually belong too is not a bad thing
-
If they make it work on every action they have to make it work on every upcoming killer power that requires actions
And with their spaghetty code that's just asking for bugs
-
The Entity messes up some details when she creates her trial worlds
Give her a break. She is trying really hard
-
Except for the dwight hiding ones all od these seem pretty easy tbh
-
The only thing i might give to you is being able to see items better
It's really hard to see when some characters are holding a key or not
Revealing the rest just ruins all the surprise factor
I actually like getting pebbled once and a while and it's hard enough to use as is
-
Dr. Octagonnapuss
Bwaaaah
-
No offence but complaining on changes before anyone had a chance to play with them is way more jumping the shark then the devs ever did
-
The way i see it survivors get a huge buff to their queuetimes next patch
-
Loving the changes, wether they do a good job or not
Relearning the maps will breath a lot of life in this game again
-
How would it be that instead of opening them manually they open automaticly after a certain time span?
Say like 3 minutes or something. And maybe the time goes faster when survivors pull the handle
-

If it were to sit there for a week, I wouldn't have said anything, as I would've thought its just another bug, this being normal coming from BHVR. But it's not. It is pure humor my friend. Poetic humor I do not understand.
-
Problem is that ranking up as a survivor is relativly easy compared to killer
Killers at red rank tend to know what they are doing while you only need to be avarage at survivor and play a lot to get to red ranks
Wich tend to lead to complete stomps
My advice is not playing that much. Try playing only 2 to 3 games a day and you will tend to stick in the rank you are suppose to be in
The game also becomes a lot less frustrating cause the frustrations don't get a chance to build up
-
Who said anything about a day?
The shrine won't be updated again untill next week
-
Best advice i can give is not to play this game fanaticly
A lot of people play waaay to much and let al the little frustrations about this game build up to the point that everything frustrates them
I play 2 to 3 matches each side each day and i enjoy almost every match
I can't remember the last time i got angry at this game even when the more frustrating parts happen
