  • Mom, Dad my E doesnt work against blight. Also they disturb me doing gens because they have tinkerer and ruin.

But now, they even have DMS, and I cannot gen rush anymore.

This game is some broken sadface

  • xqc is famous for revealing cheats and stream sniping on twitch.

I wouldnt be suprised if he have heard how simple it is to cheat in dbd, so he will give it a try

The system before was also bad. This MMR is also not good, but better than it was.

No. But as a soloQ no matter how good you are, by bad team mates you can be stuck in the bottom of soloQ.

So, the thing that is not called skill in dbd, means that you loop killer for 5 gens, but if you do not escape, you will end up with worse team mates and a killer.

    In conclusion:

You can be much better in a metric that is not called a skill compared to others, but you will have hard time crawling out of that mmr hell.

Which leads to survivors seeking SWF or quitting due to boring limbo.

Which leads killer to stomp or either be stomped, where they either quit from stress or boredome, or role in as a survivor. but then, read the part above what will most likely happen.

Also buffing SoloQ with action icons WILL NOT increase escape rate. Also it will not help with basekit BT or anything, if you are being queued with those who hide or play like a bots

One thing is MMR, the other thing is matchmaking, i.e. how are people selected into a match based on the MMR values.

It is possible that the matchmaking is aiming for an average survivor MMR. So if your MMR is high, the other survivors will be potatoes to get a target medium high average MMR.

It is also possible that there are too many survivors waiting and matchmaking speed is prioritized over matchmaking quality.

The devs also mentioned some bugs: if someone leaves a party then the system just quickly adds someone, possibly this will be a potato. Or maybe you are quickly added to potatoes.

long story short. It should not be in a live dbd which such flaws.

Personally, I think Plague is good without addson. Though she obviously way better with cooldown/ vomit effectiveness add ons.

But, you can play plague on very cheap addons.

    Brown and yellow.

Dont know names, combined increased timer for contagion for 70s (equal to CI time) and almost instantly they loose health state.

  • @fogdonkey said:

I think using kills/escapes is maybe a good enough solution.

Using the hockey analogy is not really a good comparison for current DBD, because in hockey the whole team is evaluated based on the number of goals, not individual players.

MMR in DBD should work in a similar way, the entire team should be evaluated after the match is done. Yes maybe there will be corner cases when a survivor is hiding all the time and still escapes, but that behavior is not sustainable and eventually will start losing.

if its such a good solution. Then why is the soloQ such a problem?

I dedicated my solo survivor matches to be completely egoistic. I only care about escape.

Since my escape : death ratio feels something as 5:1, why am I still teaming with:

    1) survivors who seem to be new to the game.

    2) Is it perhaps that they have inflated/boosted MMR?

    3) Am I really that awful of a survivor

? What does SWF have to do with the main objective of the game design? Sure, SWF will have more information and therefore would have more awareness of when they should help or cut off other survivors. That doesn't change the win condition.

the quote of what cote said compared to the state of dbd

  • @knell said:

Just a reminder to everyone here that DBD was never intended to be a "team" game.

Mathieu: "It is an asymmetrical multiplayer game where you can live in the world of these 70s and 80s horror movies. It’s anti-social multiplayer where survivors have to collaborate and cooperate up to a certain point. The old saying is that you don’t need to be fast than the killer, you just need to be faster than your friends. Whereas the people playing as the killer, they just need to straight up murder everyone."

    https://www.mmorpg.com/mobile/features.cfm?read=13188&game=1501&ismb=1

At best, it's always been about forming a temporary alliance. Part of the "skill" came from figuring out how much to help others to increase your own chance of escaping, and knowing when to cut them off.

After all, the winning condition - the objective - has always been about your own escape, not the overall numbers of escape per match.

i love the “anti social” but also let us introduce you a SWF where you can be social and using comms to be more competitive

This game got out of control with ddos, cheaters, exploiters and just people that only play to ruin others day.

No wonder it's dying, it has easily the most pathetic community i ever seen in pvp games.

Also the gameplay is extremely repetitive and somehow people still defend it saying facing 5 Blights in a row is fun..so weird

I agree with all you said. But playing Blight is only “creative” killer where killer actually has more fun trying to land some spicy rush flick. And not that he is one of the most viabale killers regarding meta and beauty of dbd

  • Another day has passed with closed eyes of our beloved community managers.

Have a nice day and keep up the good work @MandyTalk , @Peanits

  • Blight who can hugh tech and flick is not a good blight.

Good blight is the one who will zone you with bump logic and land that hit. And then you get outplayed.

Survivor in chase is not supposed to loop for 5 gens. Easy to run against myers and drop pallets yeh?

You go down eventually, how long you last, depends on your skill. Actually its not skill, because that counte as an escape

Nothing. But like GeneralIV said, It’s more about how the perks work with the killers power. Kinda like how there’s an issue going on right now with DMS and the artist’s power. I was not shaming any blight players to begin with I just wanna clear that up. I’m just saying how I personally think he is unbalanced and broken, again something the devs did.

Press E for extra health state.

    Sometimes its

    Press E for embarrassment

He’s by far the most unbalanced killer. If you looked at my previous posts I’ve only complained about him and artist the most. But I’ve been proven wrong. Artist is not as strong as I made her out to be. Blight on the other hand is something else. At this point they should nickname him “The exploit” or “The headache”.

its very simple. He performs hugh tech, you hold W. Easily countered

  • Since you are so pog. You should be a blight main streamer. People always enjoy watching dem plays

...Genuinely not sure what "political spiciness" is in this context, and I'm not being facetious there.

So, people still can play the game to chill- and in the cases where they can't, MMR has nothing to do with it, most of the time it's just the game's current balance problems and those existed before the MMR did. Regarding the Steam charts, I'm pretty sure the game's still going up- last time I checked we're still above the playercount of this time last year. Playercounts go up and down all the time- and while a massive drop would be semi relevant to this conversation, it's not really the case here, at least to my understanding.

The killer pick rate chart also seems kind of irrelevant? I don't know why they didn't show that this time around, there could be any number of reasons. I can say that the question about Killer/Survivor ratio was not dodged, though, it was answered very conclusively and very concretely- there isn't a static K/S ratio because it changes depending on time of day, region, and a whole host of other factors. There's no reason not to believe that.

Like I don't mean to be rude but I really don't see how anything you just said is relevant, beyond a general "people don't like it", which is pretty circumstantial at best. Most people don't like MMR, it's true, but a whole heck of a lot of those people also don't understand the MMR, so I don't think their opinion really counts for much if we're talking about how the system functions. The only other point you're making is that the game is unbalanced, which... has nothing to do with MMR?

    ok

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2787038#Comment_2787038

I'm not... entirely sure what your point is? It seems like you want the matchmaking system to take current balance problems into account, which is a pretty bad idea- if you base it on things like that, you'd have to keep updating the MMR system to accommodate whenever things are fixed.

Unless you're saying that a matchmaking system can never work because the game won't ever be truly balanced, in which case... sure, but surely at that point it doesn't matter what matchmaking system they use if nothing could ever work...?

I love your wording with a pinch of political spiciness.

Yes. Nobody enjoys the current system nor how the mmr is calculated. People want to play game for fun, to chill. Not to have over and over a sweaty matches, where after a few games you get exhausted and need something else.

Have a look at steam charts and the active player base drop.

And SBMM has nothing to do with it?

Killer pick & kill rates were suddenly for whole playerbase, why is classical high mmr list missing?

Question around K:S ratio was dodged. For what reason there wasnt at least average on daily basis - different timezones and prime times.

SBMM is least important thing that dbd needs.

If you do not see any other problems and the adaptation of SBMM is the best thing ever.

Then I feel sorry for you honestly

I dont care about future SBMM updates as there is a valid bhvrs TM of “soon”.

But the current SBMM + lack of killers (queue times says all) will never work as intended.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2787001#Comment_2787001

Not quite- by BHVR's definition of your gameplay, what you deserve is to be going against stronger survivors who'll do a better job against cheese strats.

Even if they can't with this strat specifically, surely you see how that's a problem with Pig's addons and not with the MMR system, right?

Is it? Please explain me how you would nerf Pig, so I cannot do cheesy tactic ?

Please also explain how after all nerfs, the survivors will have to be nerfed.

Please explain me, how SWF who prefer to sweat gens using such builds and brand new parts is not a problematic at getting a balance?

The definition of MMR should be the same way treated as in a hockey you determine MVP and not by shots and goals determine who won.

SBMM is not applicable in this game. Balance will never be achieved.

SWF will always have advantage and will have more escapes then deaths.

As long as you can spread 2by2 on gens. As long as you can pressure gens on one side, not bother much on healing as you can rely on Adrenaline. It will always be unbalanced game.

Killer cannot down as fast as gens can be done.

It is asymetric game. How can if everybody have 1000 MMR the game be balanced with 1000:4000 MMR + balancing it around 2K 2E.

The ratio of 1:4 is far from achieved. The ratio between time and balance of lobbies will never be optimal.

BHVR is delusional, where they look in wrong direction of where the development of the game should be focused.

SBMM is Patricks baby. And ofc he will defend it until the last drop

  • 3 games in a row I decided to use AFK Pig strat. So with video tape addon, i went stealth and body blocked one of the box.

    Match 1: 3K 1E

Two head pops, downed third which did a suicide on hook. Next to 4th hatch spawned.

    Match 2: 4K

3x head pop, 4th gave up

    Match 3: 4K

2x head pop. Downed and hooked third. Coincidentally gates opened so with the hook bloodwarden procced. Went toward the 4th guy, downed him via noed.

Ive put 0 effort and by the BHVR definition of my gameplay I deserve to be in highest MMR

From what I've heard, Boil Over affects controller/console much worse than it does PC. I've seen PC players say they hardly feel that stagger. That is definitely not the case on console. I can't get through doors, I can't get around objects, I have trouble walking forward at all. If the survivor doesn't go down directly under a hook, I am forced to leave them slugged.

This update to Boil Over makes no sense. It promotes unhealthy gameplay on both sides. I cannot understand why this was implemented.

    +1

It is impossible to counter wiggle on a controller.

    see my reply to ryan

best examples of digital controller movement are games like Dark Souls (only 3 move speeds: walk, jog, sprint) or Genshin Impact (same deal, walk, jog, sprint). most third person games do this. the same kind of setup could easily be replicated on survivor. killer might feel awkward.

movement should be replicated to WASD instead of analog value. If you compare to keyboard. The start of movement on controller has an acceleration progress

Also killer does not need analog movement either. It has no potential

It’s odd that threads about this don’t seem to gain much traction. You’d think more console players would be vocal about how miserable the experience can be due to the lack of appropriate settings, which let’s be honest is a relatively basic feature that almost no game ships without these days. Especially when you consider we have to pay the same price for killers like Trickster, who verifiably doesn’t function properly with a controller.

Then we will keep this thread alive :)

  • Another day passes by, by closing their eyes and hoping the issue will dissapear such as cheats pandemic

  • Blight requires more of the map knowledge then nurse.

You have to know what is slippery and what is bumpable.

Before entering a tile, you need to know/visualize the gym so you can proceed with bump logic.

Gyms have to be looped one side for blight advantage, so he can rely on locker/pallet bumps inside instead of looking for objects on the outside.

A strong blight relies on bump logic and not only at hugh tech.

Once you enter a gym, single miss placed bump will lead to unable to bump properly (eg edge of barrel will mess it up)

Bump logic requires a plan and reaction time if you will be slow or obvious with bumps, you will not be able to land a hit.

Flicks are not easy either. To slip lunge, you have to be on the top of survivor. Which will land a 100% hit.

Survivor doing harsh turns and spin direction on very last moment can end up in a missed attack.

Nurse is a lot on predictions and blink mind games.

Nurse cant and doesnt need to loop around a car. You blink throuh ofcourse. But will you mind game before releasing a blink (eg side you go) or go straight there its up to you.

I play both and I find blight harder then nurse.

Nurse cannot travel across map with same speed as blight, and due to lower gen pressure, she seems to be less efficient

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

    No.

Its horrible to play it on console, due to amazing flick capabilities. But this is not a game breaker for bhvr.

Taking off twitch shirts is priority

  • Its been a 3rd there where BHVR lacks to give a response.

it is HARD to COMPETE where controller scheme does not have close to equal performance as mouse and keyboard.

Do you lack of (ac)knowledgement that this is an ISSUE or do you need any help to brainstorm and maybe with a VPN, I can take a shift, and improve the settings.

    Let me help you out:

Deadzone settings. It means how much of the stick has to be tilted before the analog value is greater then 0.

    Acceleration curve:

The more you tilt the greater output it is. It can be huge and linear chart, or simple exponential with e^x equation.

Blight: Add a weight(multiplication) to preturn, so it can be done faster without requiring to preturn all the way to get 70 degree flick. Also it prevents you from correcting side/angle.

Result should be more as absolute value - MOUSE

    GENERAL M2 settings:

Copy paste current and above settings to be specific for powers.

BONUS: Controller gravitational aim assist. When M2 is being aimed into proximity of survivor, manipulate sensitivity to help with precise aiming.

  • forcing symetrical sbmm into asymetrical game. if each player has 1000 mmr, its really simple to see its 1000:4000 and not as any other symmetrical game with logical 5000:5000.

And 2K 2E ends up with bizarre 4K or 4E which ends up in their balance goal.

  • Im not sure if it works cross gen with off.

Also with xplay on would exclude pc

  • EU, with x-play.

    daytime:

    survivor between 60-120s on average

    killer instant

    evening/prime time

    survivor 120-300s on average

    killer is instant

  • just in a match with speed hacker. He wasnt a shame to show them in a first second of a match.

The updated anti cheat in midchapter was very efficient

Despite making up a significant portion of BHVRs revenue, console players are honestly treated as an afterthought, and that’s putting it politely.

    Exactly.

Blight was released at the same time for equal price.

Was it playable on controller? Not even close.

It took fair amount of time to make blight actually playable on controller. Cant argue its bad, but it could be also a bit better to be comparable to pc.

    Ranged are problems.

Lower sens, even at 65%. You cannot look up fast enough to save urself from flashlight. And at higher sens you then struggle with ranged. So its quite disappointing that you are eligable to be competitive with few killers where majority are even useless in above average games
