The problem with your theory is it hinges on them being competent enough to fix these this. This is the same company that promised console optimization what 3 years ago? I very much doubt they can make it happen with their spaghetti code. All of this being fairly unsurprising when you remember this was a PC game ported to console. I'm sure they never expected it to last more than a year or two. Certainly not six.
We are talking about the least complex game.
They are not some startup group of enthusiasts that would like to succeed in the world of gaming.
Everybody and even as it sounds as cpt hindsight; If a hobby game seems to show so much interest and potential to have a long life cycle between the gamers, then the first thing you plan is to invest into the development and achieve better base for a development. Look at licensed killers, incredible marketing idea, as people can actually play as a killer/survivor from some great movie/book that they have watched or read.
Look at the hell let loose which was released on oct for new gen.
In less then a quarter of a year, with collected feedback, they have released two major updates that have totally changed the QoL of the game. Next week, after half a year from a release, they are updating the game to almost a “full” parity or comparison to a game content on PC version.
At the end of the day, with new games, titles even now an evil dead…Why would console community stick with dbd or be the major representative of DbD community.
I trust steam charts, and we can relate to the same trend over all platforms.
Queue times and charts are self explanatory
edit: ps: playstation, xplay off, tried during whole weekend. Long queue, always the same faces(<10) Thats something aswell isnt it?

No, it's been used as a claim for years. I've never yet seen anyone back that claim with actual data.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2950648#Comment_2950648
From what I can find PC players makeup about 35% of total gamers. This being for gaming in general. So the combined player base dwarfs PC. Add to this I've noticed PC players are much quicker to dismiss games than console player (granted that is anecdotal). A perfect example of this would have been F13. The PC community basically dropped it within a month. Consoles had a strong player base for years.
If console would be the highest player base, then they would shift their priorities on improving performance and QoL on a controller.
The fact that playing as blight requires you to change sensitivity to 100% so you can even flick (not to mention, that spinning survivor can EASILY dodge controller blight flick due to acceleration speed of movement, so as console blight you do not react but anticipate in 90% cases.
To play any other m2 you have to reduce ur sensitivity that you can even aim without trying to flick for an inch and result in 90 degree turn.
The fact that the brightness is so horrible on darker maps, that you can even see the silhouette of dark clothing, especially claudette is a ninja
And then older generation on 30fps, blight bumps freezes the whole game, but the price tag on console is equal to the PCs.

I believe it was tested by someone and explained like this:
Nesmsis' whip functions like a push, not a whip. It has a hitbox that pushes forwards in a straight line, and the first thing which is caught in it is hit. This push interact with objects by stopping the hitbox of whatever it touches, and anything which goes above the object continues the full duration of the whip, a bit like this:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/DRU5J8JGDIUW/polish-20220514-120029714.jpg
White is the hitbox, blue is the window, green is the crouching survivor. If they were stood up, they'd be caught by the hitbox that goes over the object, but as they're crouched they're not caught by it.
but even if whip misses and survivors enters that blue trail. it validates as a hit

What does the lore team have to do with the balance team? whole thing needs to be thrown in the trash.
I love how everyone here is a senior software developer / firm owner.
What you think? that they have 200 teams within dbd development? lmao

As mentioned. Bloodlust is a band aid fix to tiles.
There are so many tiles, where survivor can have optimal loop by wall/bush/hay clips, while killer gets stuck on the each pointy pixel. Since killer cannot have same pathing as a killer you enter the infinity loop. So therefore survivor has to make a bit of a deviation in a pathing or bloodlust has to kick in.
Combined with DH, in everyloop, survivor can squeeze fair amount of laps before DH + pallet drop.
From there on its all in W, and buying time with other loops and dropping pallets. All you can hope is that at least 1-2 gens will pop in the mean while.
But then again, its easier to master Blight or Nurse and easily bait that DH with M2. From the whole content game has to offer, you are locked to 8perks and 3-4 killers

Congratulations to you, Smuk. For hate posting about Dead By Daylight when you could literally move on and play something else instead of wasting time with these posts when you could be enjoying literally any other game!
Thank you!
To be fair, I havent touched the game since last update. I prefer watching stream here and there and I also like numbers. So I shared them. Just as BHVR loves observing their stats and looking into <insert topic>.
Are the numbers related to the game changes or is it something else ?
Console controller QoL and old gen performance its such garbage that I highly doubt that there is more active players compared to steam (epic no need to even include).
Lets go team hockey!

Take a break. Play something else. Come back after an update or two.
Perhaps you will enjoy or most likely it will be tunneling, dh dh dh, ds, spinning in a circle. Pallet breaker simulator, strobing and tbaging. And you will happily close the game for next few months :)

The mods on the forums say otherwise. Say they’ll only review reports if done in-game. But yeah, not my job to police their game for them.
according to mandy from last year, it only “flags” the match. Yet you need to upload video and fill out the form.
Then again, if as killer you close the hatch. And survivor obviously doesnt escape via exit gates, there is no way to determine if he escaped via teleport or did (s)he got the key from chest. Since items survivors obtained in the game, are not shown in the end game screen.
-
you forgot one thing. It doesnt work. Those few buttons are dummy.

Give it a try and see it for youself.
I came back and gave it a try. After 4-5 matches Ive been fed up :)

DH only for gaining distance would be much more fair.
Removes jail card around mind games in tiles.
Removes iFrame use where you can DH (without movement) into window/pallet which will result in dodge and safe vault.
Still allows to dodge ranged m2 via strafe DH.
Survivors will have split opinion at choosing next exhaust perk. Killers will get more downs and be happier.
BHVR will be upset due to over performance in general. So they will find another solution to f*ck it up somewhere else

Why would anyone need a macro for flashlight spam? I mean, really?
What makes you so sure that every strobe is either some script kiddie / using software to spam m1/m2?
Bind mouse wheel and spin to win. There you have your most advanced state of the art macro

By setting it just before the grade reset, we gave people as much time as possible to separate. The people who play the most would end up further away from the people who play the least. This is important because under the grade system, grades reset all the way back to 20 whereas ranks would only reset one colour tier. Setting it two weeks into a reset would give people a lot less time to spread out and more than likely end up with the vast majority of players within the silver-gold range.
We could debate whether or not that's the worse time all day, but ultimately that's impossible to say. Under the old rank system rules, that would probably be true, given that players weren't reset that far back and will have a much easier time climbing a few ranks. However, since everyone's starting at 20, that's a much different story. The average person does not reach iridescent ranks each month.
In any case, even with different timing, this still would not be a conclusive test. You cannot switch it on for 1-2 days and get definitive results. A system like that takes longer for people to settle where they're supposed to be.
maybe because the mmr equation is overly simplified ? Hockey analogy, you know?

David became gay from marketing purpose.
They just aim at a specific group to help them increase numbers. #SteamCharts
Opening one doors, closes the others. Remember bubba ?
But good for you that playing as a queer boosts your gaming experience
-
Oh its obvious isnt it?
Patricks lead design effort. CoH, DH and such.
As killer, half game you run in a circle and waiting for DH, the other half is carpenter simulator.
Killers are more or less generic.
CoH was totally required implementation.
And as a survivor you mostly just sit on a generators and occasionally try to be altruistic or run around few laps.
To make it a bit more interesting you as a master of centrifugal force, you spin like a maniac and with a bit of faith you will dodge that hit as a Neo or totally disorient a killer.
But grinding for 2 years to play a diff survivor, well Im over exaggerating, you only need 2 perks that are not general.
But yeah, maybe 2 years to have all other perks in the web of a killer.
But grinding will be definetly looked into as the thorough investigation on DH right now.
Because removing T1 and T2 is extremly complicated in the eyes of BHVR development department

For sure Blight has 115% speed, if you really want you can play him as a m1 killer with insane map mobility, his addons also the very best in the whole game. After a dozen hour or so you can play him very well.
Compare it to Nurse which requires insane amount of practice to do well, mechanically so extremely hard only 5% will ever learn her, you are punished for every missed blink, and speed is decreased.
Compare to it Blight and Blight absolutely braindead
he is easy. Many people said it. All you need is alchemist ring and blighted crow

If you're too stressed out about the game, I advise you to take a break and look for something else to do.
Do anything that is not Hockey related. l am sure you will feel better, it worked for me.
exactly.
Good thing for me it was, after a long break, when loaded into the game, I knew exactly why I took a break from it
-
I do not agree that DH is being only used due to adding more interactions to your gameplay.
SB and Lithe will never be OP and creating such overall bad mood as DH does.
It lasts for a few seconds. And either Lithe or SB will prolong the chase for few seconds, but not to the point that it will take 3 gens before landing a hit.
DH HAS many more versatile uses compared to any other exhaustive perk.
I myself prefer to use Lithe. And I know, how many times I have outplayes or the E jail card could have saved me (or extending the chase) from being sacrificed to the entity

Do you avoid getting stun on open loop? ( Where survivor can clearly see you where mindgame can happen) or do you just care on getting pallet out asap
Do you go back and forth on open loop?
It is situational.
But 9/10 you do not respect a pallet. What will happen? you will just loosing time in the circle with eventual pallet drop and not to mention survivor will also try to squeeze last inch of the loop with a help of the DH.
TLDR; more pallets gone in early game. Easier it gets in late game
-
I gave it a go.
Havent played game since january or so.
My personal opinion of dbd in single word. trash.
-
After aprox 2 month break. Had another try. Game is still poop. Great work BHVR
-
Its simple.
PC:
Start mouse drag -> m1 -> Continue mouse drag
Console:
Tilt stick -> r2 -> keep holding tilted stick.
If you were just on the corner where blight appears, animation will seem as the flick was above 90. Due to cca 180 hitbox when hugging survivor

Games have better QoL and settings such as deadzones.

Change hug tech with spinning 360 and you have the same scenario.
