  • I am holding my opinion of the Artist until further notice.

The Blight is too oppressive against everything except a very good SWF which makes him broken. He needs slower charges and much longer cooldown after dashing. Why can he traver completely across the map, hit someone, and immediately go as fast as normal?

Perks like Tinkerer should be considered when balancing killers.

You're probably losing so much because you're terrible at the game, therefore have low MMR and get matched with equally terrible teammates. Everyone knows that in low ranks, killers have an advantage, but not because the game is killer sided, but because survivors in low ranks are bad and don't know how to do anything.

You don't even realize it but you proved the game is killer sided. MMR is supposed to give everyone a 2E possibility. The fact that killers have an advantage at all levels except for a coordinated team or when all 4 survivors are tournament level players shows how bad the game favors the killer.

If I am camped and tunneled, how am I supposed to keep my MMR high?

You can't say the game is killer sided when only SWF is able to play at high MMR. I don't have 3 other players bodyblocking and taking hits for me while one person is a gen technician.

Imagine telling someone that has played the game for 5 years they are bad at the game. I remember playing with you one time and you were the first to die at 3 gens still remaining. I think you are a killer main and occasionally losing to SWF and claiming the game is killer sided.

There is plenty of advice to give to the OP as evidenced by all the other posts in this thread.

Plenty can be done for solo players. I only play solo and escape about 50% of my matches. Most of my losses are due to useless teammates not doing anything or trying to go for flashlight saves rather than doing gens.

You’re just bad, trolling or both.

This thread had nothing to do with killers or survivors dictating how the game should be, it was just asking for advice and you, in your typical brain dead fashion, had to go off topic and cry “killer bad need nerf, buff survivor”.

Well, I played 8 matches this morning -solo- and every match was a total bloodbath except against a new pig that was playing because of a daily they said. I am only 25% of my team, I am responsible for my loses? I don't think you are winning 50%. You are playing against bad killers in your server.

First, the OP asked for advice, which you provided none of. Secondly, if you can’t last more than 10 seconds against a killer that isn’t a top tier Nurse, then the problem isn’t the game, it’s you and you shouldn’t refrain from dictating what the game should be like.

As if killers have any better advice other than "nerf survivors" or "git gud". What if I said if killers can't down a survivor in 10 seconds they need to git gud? Killers should refrain from dictating how the game should be. This is why only SWF can win.

There is no advice to be given to OP so I offered what is the truth. Nothing can be done for solo survivors. The game is against them.

  • Buff survivors massively so they have an actual standing to last longer than 10 seconds or nerf killers.

  • It needs the Object of Obsession nerf. It is unfun to verse so it should be nerfed regardless of how much it is used. Completely immune to all items in the game, completely immune to everything? It shouldn't be 100% all of the time, it needs to be on a timer or have limited use.

  • Hackers. Notice how many obvious hackers there is. Now imagine how many are probably subtle hacking. It's completely ruining the game and no match feels valid.

  • They were already hard nerfed before they even went live.

  • This is only one extreme. Lets not forget that "most" of the time it is the complete opposite. A killer is completely wiping the floor, camping or tunneling as an overpowered Leatherface or some other killer.

Killers are overpowered but this happens one time out of a 100 and suddenly everyone loses their mind because the killer couldn't bully.

This is a game with 5 players. The one player is not supposed to win all of the time. And right now, they do most of the time.

  • They don't. That's why they haven't bothered to fix camping and tunneling.

  • They needed a spanking from Nurse or Spirit for how they treated Legion.

Nurse and Hillbilly should have never been nerfed when teams like this exists.

He got caught with his pants down and unfortunately they took advantage of it.

But as far as Bullying, killers bully solo teams as well. This just shows only one extreme.

  • @AngyKiller said:

So what happens if Survivors steamroll? If a chase takes 3 minutes and Survivors had 4 purple toolkits & banged out 4 gens?

Or is it only Killers that are not allowed a steamroll?

Yes, SWF that genrushes should have a form of penalty too. The Entity can cast a spell that hinders a SWF team that has an advantage. There is no "in-between" any more. SWF are way too overpowered, Solo and average teams are underpowered.

  • @Tr1nity said:

That sounds more like a nurse problem than anything else.

That was only 1 example. It could have been even easier for a Blight with Tinkerer.

  • If it is ruined for killer, it is even more ruined for survivor. Way more believe me.

    Camped and tunneled every match.

Every killer using the most oppressive loadouts known.

There is no such thing as a fun casual match any more.

    All sweat.

    Remove MMR for both sides.

  • His box is a big slowdown so I'm sure they had to balance it so his power must be difficult but very rewarding. He does prevent loops completely when landing his shots. I don't think he is too bad.

I still see some using Hoarder which is very strong.

Think about it tho, NOED is complained about because it "gives free kills", why does it give free kills? Because survivors dont do bones, why dont survivors do bones? Because its not a guarantee NOED is in play, meaning its possible for them to cleanse all 5 Totems and in the end it being a waste of time.

Make it base kit and survivors are well aware of what they can prevent. And it becomes their choice if they want to cleanse it to prevent the consequences.

Against a good killer you never have time to cleanse all the totems, you barely and are very lucky to get the gens done. NOED might get one free down but then everyone frantically finds and cleanses it.

If it was basekit that would be five perks for killer. Killers would put on No Way Out instead. That would be very horrid to see all the time.

  • @Shroompy said:

    make it base kit

Wow, that made my jaw drop.

I honestly think NOED is probably fine since SWF can remove it and save the person with borrowed time.

Gen regression is way more OP than NOED.

  • @CashelP14 said:

I think a 60 second cooldown isn't really enough. Bearing in mind they can be up for a very long time before being found. Since boon totems have made matches last longer, 60 seconds feels like nothing.

CoH either way needs a nerf.

And Tinkerer has absolutely no cooldown whatsoever, so does other strong killer perks. A perk where you have to waste a lot of time finding a totem to give "self care" doesn't need a nerf. Survivors need more decent perks, not less.

  • He is still extremely strong, just not as easy to play. Circle of Healing and being able to heal is a bit of a counter to his boring hit and run strategy that didn't have a counter before.

  • Now imagine a solo survivor against a Blight with Ruin, Undying, and the broken Tinkerer.

Boons pale in comparison to that kind of advantage.

  • Lets be sure we see the big picture, that survivors have been continuously nerfed for 5 years non-stop. Survivors are so badly nerfed only SWF can possibly win.

Lets ignore the fact also that Blight exists with a broken killer meta that squashes about everything that spawns on the map.

If killers are not having fun, it is definitely on them.

    Oh woopty F ing do.

You guys act as if it happens every single game sjeez, cry me a river please 😭😭😭😭😭

Yes it suck if it happens once every 50 games or so, that's probably his playstyle and who are you to judge how he must play the game?

Survivors are allowed to do everything possible in this game and can even make sure a killer gets 0 hooks, but god forbids if a killers tries anything 😱

Yes, I've been facecamped many time these past 5 years, you see me cry about it?

No, i just stay on the hook as long as possible to buy my team time.

Yes it is boring but not every game has to be fun for me, there are 4 more people in the match.

When my time on the hook is over i just take my loss and just move on to the next match.

Stop crying about killer tactics, not everyone will play by YOUR rules.

Just suck it up and move on.

The problem with that is survivors can't do anything about killer tactics but suck it up. Killers have control of the match and they are able to make the best out of survivor tactics. Killers can still win regardless of what survivors do. The same can't be said when a killer chooses to play a certain way.

Killers can respond to whatever survivors do in the match. Unfortunately, survivors don't have such a luxury.

A Leatherface is camping a basement? Well, it is simply an automatic win for the killer.

    #BuffSoloSurvivors

    #BuffKillers

Killers don't need buffed at all. Only survivors. Killers still beat SWF most of the time. Killers need nerfed if anything.

I still think most of all the issue is the killer meta, it is way too oppressive and solos can't win against it unless the killer is very bad. At high MMR, no killer is bad and they always win unless it is a coordinated SWF.

I don't know why nothing is being done about it. Solo playmode should never be such a grave disadvantage. It's like playing game on "Expert" or Impossible mode without the choice.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

Leatherface should move at 105% to balance out his ability to down all 4 survivors at once.

That is a big problem because he has no penalty to using his saw. Normal speed with no slowdown. An insta-down should come with more difficulty.

  • @MrPeanutbutter said:

I’m sorry, if you claim that Leatherface has “no counter play”, I can’t take your opinion seriously. It is widely known that he is one of the easiest killers in the game to loop, and he really struggles with windows. I play killer as Leatherface quite and bit and survivors who know how to loop usually destroy me

Widely known? Please do ask all the survivors that are on their belly due to his saw. He can instantly break a pallet and be right on top of you again with his saw ready again. Also, you can't loop him with Bamboozle so he can always get an insta-down. There is a lot of situations where there is no counterplay.

  • The killer meta has made killers lazy. No need to be satisfied with a 2K, play in a sloppy manner and still get a 4K.

  • His saw could inflict one health state and he would still be very strong. This is how overpowered he is. If you are going into the basement, it is game over. He needs nerfing for sure.

  • Every match this morning has been a 4K with the killer winning with ease. I don't think killers are having a problem during the event. The snowman is a huge buff for killer because survivors are wasting time in them.

  • Tunneling is a huge problem and ruining the game. Worse than it has ever been. There is not enough ways to defend against it and it is too advantageous for the killer. Killers have no fear of decisive strike because it is a weak perk. 1-time use is not enough when killer perks are all multiple use perks, such as tinkerer.

  • I've never seen a Huntress miss that much. That can't be a real video.

  • Blight is too easy for how effective he is with the killer meta. When 9 out 10 matches is against Blight, it means there's a huge problem. He's too strong against most teams and it makes it very boring to play an unwinnable match.

  • It takes way more skills from the survivors to outplay a Spirit than it to does to play Spirit. All it takes is one mistake from only one of the survivors and the Spirit can win regardless of how many mistakes she makes. She is still much faster than the survivor while phased so the directional sound doesn't change much.

  • If SWF is nerfed, then killers have got to be nerfed all across the board. You have Blight that is an auto-win against anything less than a 4 man sweat team. Spirit, Nurse, and don't forget Huntress with 5 quick uncounterable hatchets.

Bird Lady that is coming that will totally annihilate all solos at every loop with birds. The devs have already addressed SWF by tremendously buffing killers all across the board. And nerfing survivors constantly and making maps killer sided.

  • @Nathan13 said:

well you're not being tunneled if you're interacting with a totem for one thing.

You actually can still be tunneled. You could think you aren't being tunneled, work on a totem, and then the killer tunnels you again.

  • Why should a survivor action disable their own perk?

Killer actions do not disable their perks.

  • The game is one of the few maps that gives some slight counterplay to Blight having 5 slams into walls. I think you are used to the other barren maps being easy and then this map being a challenge. Boons are OK because finding Ruin on this map is also chore. I've actually seen Ruin last the entire match or Devour Hope kill everyone because they couldn't find the totem.

Ok, there are quite a few things here to cover.

    The Hatch:

Which version of it? The one we had until recent Patches or the older Hatch mechanics?

    Toolboxes:

I presume you mean reverting their change.

    Decisive Strike:

Uhhh...Which one of its 6 versions would you like to see in-game again?

    Balanced Landing:

    Agreed.

"the unnecessary nerf where you get a slight reward for hitting a great skillcheck."

    You mean this one?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/Y320X0K6U429/image.png

Add in more pallets to fix the deadzones

Tbh, I would prefer full map reversions instead of that, but mostly because of the visuals.

    Endgame collapse.

You mean deleting it? If so, then I am happy to have found someone who shares my thoughts on the matter.

Now, I don't think those things could be simply reverted without compensations for the killer side. However, it is nice to see the things you actually want for the game.

Now I am confident that, if (when) DBD belonged (belongs) to me, I can make you and everyone else happy.

Hatch: The version where it spawns before the endgame so also the key is actually a way to escape.

Toolboxes: Yes, completely reverting all their nerfs. Sabotage is also basically useless now. It needs buffed.

Decisive Strike: All the way back so the obsession is actually meaningful, and decisive strike was actually decisive. It is not a decisive strike now no matter how much the devs want to claim it is. You shouldn't lose it for playing the game either.

Yes, great skill checks should give a little progress bonus for hitting a hard skillcheck. It basically gives no reward now which was an unhealthy nerf.

Endgame can be deleted. It just favors killers too much. What do you do when a Huntress stands on a hill and can see both exit gates? That's a lose lose situation for survivor. It's unhealthy when you basically have to walk up to the killer and asked to be killed.

  • @GeneralV said:

Are there any survivor changes you would like to see reverted?

EDIT: Please answer this time :(

The hatch, toolboxes, decisive strike, balanced landing.

Revert the unnecessary nerf where you get a slight reward for hitting a great skillcheck.

Add in more pallets to fix the deadzones. Maps are generally too killer sided now.

    Endgame collapse.

  • What I get here is that another killer is unable to take the other team taunting them in a PvP game. Killers only have fun if they 4K every match, taunting the survivors instead.

If you stop taking the game so seriously, you'll have more fun as killer. A 4K should be rare.

  • Solo Q is almost always a slaughterhouse. I genuinely play survivor expecting to lose and if the gates are opened it is a celebration. Killers need nerfed so solo Q is winnable and fair game mode.

  • It's a very badly designed perk and at the same time grossly overpowered for how it works. It basically punishes survivors for doing the objective and rewards the killer massively for doing nothing at all. It's broken on killers like Blight. When only 2-3 survivors left, there is no way to do the objective. It needs changed.

Why is other perks like Eruption and Surge require effort on the killer has a cooldown and tinkerer doesn't?

    Tinkerer needs a nerf.

  • It was probably my favorite indoor map. So many unsafe pallets, but will miss going upstairs to plunder that chest in peace while the chaos is happening on the bottom floor. I wish the map could have stayed in the game.

  • It is simply a symptom that killer is much easier than survivor. With so many anti-loop powers, it is never safe to loop, and with killers that throw projectiles you can't loop.

  • Boons are already too easy for killers to hear. Every time I bless one, the killer can walk from across the map to snuff it.

  • @Pulsar said:

    This...is unprecedented.

    Sluzzy has a good take.

I don't think all the cheaters will go away, but at the very least, the victims won't be forced to eat an undeserved penalty

It would at least help until they fixed it. I was saying they would be less likely to hack knowing you wouldn't have to endure it.

A flying ghostface with hatchets? Nope, I'm out..

  • The DC penalty should be removed and the cheaters will go away. The cheater knows you are stuck in a match and is being held hostage.

I was in a match one day and a Steve had infinite fireworks. The killer and survivors basically played the match blinded the entire match and was forced to take a DC penalty. That's not fair.

  • Keys are useless now. I don't know why they are even in the game now.

1 … 15 16 17 18 19 … 57
