There is no way that behavior can stop people from acting like babies when things don't go their way. All they can do is try. No, the DC bans are not going to stop it all but it does help and I for one am glad they are trying something.
I'm glad they're trying too but it's seriously disheartening to see something you love playing being tainted by people who want an easy match. Don't get me wrong I've had some killing who felt bad because usually I'm the one to stick to the end but I'm tired of wasting offerings that took so much just to be wasted

It stops killers from dcing. It frees up the queue for ppl who don't DC, plus at the very least dying on 1st hook buys a little more time.
Not really. In most of my games a second survivor was found instantly because they were trying to save the survivor from killing themselves

It wouldn't work without changing most speed up, second chance, aura, notification or slowdown perks.
Then we would essentially just be in the same situation as it is now as the 5th perk would be one which gives a similar result to what was taken away.
I had the same thought. Seems like most people agree that it wouldn't make this game any better and tbh I agree with them

That is because the devs are trying to make new perks that create new synergies.

This game was absolutely not balanced around 4 perk slots. Or rather, it may have been at the beginning, but the game is not actively being balanced around 4 perk slots, because perk synergy is consistently absurd.
That's how I was thinking when I made this post I just wanted to see how other people think

But then you don't really have another slot since one slot is being used to give you another slot. Makes no sense lol
They was being sarcastic. That's why I agreed with them rather then trying to explain how that wouldn't work

bad, this game was balanced for 4 perks, and adding a 5th to most builds just lets survivors use ds, unbreakable, bt, iron will, deadhard or any other combination of meta perks but with even more meta perks

Now I love Otz don't get me wrong on that aspect but I feel like the balance patch misses the mark on three aspects.
DS
Decisive strike being deactivated when on a generator or in a locker does it really defeat the main annoyance of decisive.
In fact at least in my opinion the locker tech on decisive strike was always the least irritating.
The 3 most annoying aspects that decisive strike brought were.
1) survivors being able to do objective totems and healing whilst still being under the protection ( generators is one of the suggested aspects to deactivate decisive but totems and healing still remain) if you're safe enough to heal somebody or do a totem you're not really being tunneled
2) The fact that you could still Hook other survivors but still get hit with decisive strike. It's really annoying that you could potentially be punished for downing people to efficiently
3) small pp build this point has been beaten to death I just need to mention it the thing not really explaining.
Noed
As for Noed I think it's kind of stupid to lock something that's already conditional behind more conditions.
Noed already relies on endgame and an available dull totem otem making it also rely on tokens is kind of stupid.
If you're going to make it rely on two conditions then you are definitely going to have the buff the perk up a lot more than it already is.
Balancing a condition on a condition on a restriction is one of the main reasons why furtive chase is such a bad perk.
I really don't think doing a hex version of that is a smart idea.
Undying
This is typically a gamble hex perk it can either work as insurance for your other hexes or it could be destroyed first and be useless. I think the idea of the transferred hex being removed once Undying is destroyed is bad
Honestly the only thing I really think needs to be changed about this perk is the Aura Reading to be transfer to something like thrill of the hunt instead.
Turn thrill of the hunt into the ultimate total defender you see people's Aura and they cleanse it slower.
Let Undying remain as an insurance perk. Both Undying and thrill of the hunt will protect totems.
Thrill of the hunt could be used if you want to actively defend your totem whilst Undying is a gamble but it will give you a passive protection that you don't really have to influence
I absolutely agree with you on DS. I feel like if they do other objectives aka doing gens/healing/self caring they really aren't getting tunnel so it's timer should be shorter. But while you're in a chase have it last until you're no longer in chase (leave it active while slugged) it's meant to be an anti tunnel perk right now it just makes the survivor invincible. I honestly feel like it should be changed

OMG. YES. If they truly want to feel a rage entitled game definitely try out Idv

Disconnections are starting to become essential in almost every match, but bringing DC penalty back isn't possible due to hackers using it to ruin the game for streamers.
DbD mobile has the DC bots for quite a long time, and, despite the fact they can be uuterly stupid, they are still far better then when Survivor rage quits at first down leaving their team mates alone. I am convinced that, though the teams working on main and mobile versions are different, it is more than possible to implement this feature to the main version since the problem is extremely severe and spoiling the gameplay expirience very bad.
I don't know if that's a good idea because have you seen the bots on DBD Mobile? I'm cool with them bring back the D/c penalties

This game has seriously devolved into a toxic dumpster fire...I remember when I first started playing Dbd thinking, 'There's no other game quite like this' and having fun win or lose (mostly lose lol). It seems nobody plays this for fun anymore, it's just one side trying to end the round as quickly as possible with no regard for the other side whether it be Survivors pounding out gens in 4 minutes, Survivors sandbagging teammates for their own amusement, Killers facecamping and Mori'ing in the first two minutes of the match, Killers tunneling and/or slugging every hook they get...the list could go on for pages but you get the point. The janky spaghetti code this game is built on spews tons of bugs with every update and devs just keep piling on the sauce to cover it up instead of actually fixing the issues despite the numerous complaints but hey, give us $15 dollars for a skin...yeah right, eat my shorts. I know several of you 'know-it-alls' on these forums are just gonna say something along the lines of 'You won't be missed' and you can save it, I don't care because people like you are the problem. In the end, I feel this post is pointless but regardless, just wanted to say my piece before I left. Deuces.
I feel you. I only ever play the game for the rift skins and then I drop the game until the next rift comes out because I have no fun playing on this game no matter what side I'm on.

@hazzzard said:
It's ridiculous that the game is out for so long and you see the same topics on forum circling around from people who mainly play one role. I play both killer and survivor equally because that's the best way of learning the game.
- People need to experience the game themselves and not listen to some streamers who only play one role. Obviously you'll have hard time on both sides. There will be always something that will make your game harder. In my opinion POP wasn't really in the need for a nerf although I understand developers want to adjust the game for newer players. POP will stay in my builds regardless. It's a soft nerf and in my opinion neglectable.
- DS is there for a reason. People who played the game before when DS wasn't a thing know how frustrating it is to be camped & tunneled for performing well in the trial. Killer mains are saying that's 60 seconds of invincibility which is not true. By slugging you're applying pressure to the team and survivors are relying on numbers if they wanna win. Killing one survivor is giving the killer better chances of winning a trial. DS is fine the way it is. It's giving a survivor enough time to plan further actions and killer to get fair hooks/kills. DS was changed in the past (rightfully) and nerfing it more would only award camping and tunneling.
- The last chapter was killer friendly with UNDYING while they gave survivors beginner perks and that's totally fine. Not every chapter needs to be one sided. It's gonna force survivors to use maps, perks such as DISTORTION etc. Finally we will have some variety in builds.
Stop playing one role before crying about something!
I feel like they should make DS infinite when in a chase but as soon as you work on a gen or get healed to disable it because that's the definition of an antitunnel perk. It's supposed to help you not get tunneled yet killers can just knock you down and wait the 60 seconds. Yeah this is where the DS/UB problem comes up, it gives immunity for bad plays. If they really want to make DS an antitunnel perk they should make changes to it where it doesn't go down if you're in a chase or slugged on the floor

On the map pool as it is now, 2:8 would, lbr, a mess.
But what if a 2:8 mode came with adjusted maps that would do the following:
the maps are larger, and there's an additional objective: you have to 'unlock' the area with the gates. this would go thus:
the match starts like a regular 1:4 match on two sides of the map barred from each other and the gates area. survivors can unlock paths they (not the killer) can use to get to the other primary area, as well as (main task) unlocking a mechanism to open up the gates area.
Killers, while they can not go to the other primary area, can manipulate the mechanism if there's no survivor on their primary.
once the gates area is unlocked it'll be both killers vs whoever remains, while the survivors have to do one or two last gens and open the gate.
Broad outline, how does it sound so far?
I don't think they would really work. They would have to tweak some of the killers power because if you paired some killers together and they would be an unstoppable menace. Just think about Identity V's 2v8 mode it's a disaster. I'd rather not see DBD go down the same path

survivors need a get more bloodpoints after a match WGLF not cutting it for survivors lie bbq killers
I find WGLF a nice way of earning extra bloodpoints for not that much work especially when paired with an Escape Cake or a Bloody Party Streamer. It needs more benefits to it because overall it's a good perk just lacking the necessary stuff to make it a great perk

While I understand going against SWF groups can often be frustrating, there is a reason people prefer to play together, and SWF is so common. Instead of the changes you offer, I think the developers need to make solo play more enjoyable and start discouraging disconnections and suiciding on the hook. The number of disconnections and people killing themselves on the hook is very high right now, and players want to play as part of a group to have an enjoyable match.
I played three matches tonight, and it was enough to make me take a break from playing survivor. One match had a teammate who worked with the killer and another teammate who disconnected. In the next game, two teammates disconnected after being downed for the first time. The final match was against a killer who face-camped people in the basement, and my teammates died trying to get the person rather than working on gens. None of these experiences were enjoyable and describe the kind of issues that solo survivors face frequently. It is often not fun to play as a solo survivor, so people play as part of a group.
I'm not saying that going against a four-person SWF group is fun, but there is a reason people play as part of these groups, and I don't think it is fair to punish them just for playing together. The developers need to make people want to play solo survivor by offering more incentives and fixing the issues I mentioned above.
I had one game where there was 3 survivors who farmed each other off the hook constantly while I was the only one doing gens and the moment they all got downed they all disconnected and the killer ended up finding hatch and I got the good ol noed. Even though I know they might not be doing that intently I just don't enjoy play survivor at all. I don't find playing against these teams enjoyable either. Once I finished the Tome and the Rift I dropped the game and probably won't play it until the next Tome comes out. Playing either side is just really not enjoyable and I understand why they would team up and play together but what us killers who just want to play the game. Not have our location constantly told to other survivors all the time.
Something needs to be done about this

If Distortion simply prevented all Killer Aura reading on the Survivor using it, would that even be overpowered?
Honestly, I feel like it'd still be pretty niche. The most commonly run Aura perk is BBQ and having your Aura hidden every time it activates doesn't seem to me like it would compete with most of the meta perks for a slot.
Some crazy stealth Blendette might get tons of value from this buffed version of Distortion. But most of the Iron Will, Dead Hard, Decisive Strike and Unbreakable tryhards probably wouldn't even consider using it for a second.
I would say survivors would pair it well with Object of Obsession. I feel like distortion is in a good place yeah it may not be used much but it's good where it's at

What I did this Tome is I played constantly until I finished all challenges in a level, waited for the next level to come out, repeated this process up until I got to level 69, all while I haven't even completed ALL of the Level 4 challenges (I still have one left, to this day). Then, once I reached Level 70 through simply playing, I bought Auric Cells and bought the Rift, because I had reached it's max level.
The Rift doesn't give a progress boost if you buy the Rift pass beforehand, kind of like other Battle Passes do in other games. You progress regularly (which is kinda sad, but it's true and it's also somewhat better). Buying the pass beforehand means you're going to have to force yourself to play, which is seriously sad.
Trust me, it's better this way, rather than to sulk about not being able to reach Level 70 before the Rift ended.
I reached level 70 on all past 3 tomes (excluding the first tome because I got the game when the second tome dropped)
This is a really smart strat if you don't think you'll finish the rift before it ends but I had no problems buy the pass and getting to level 70 on the previous tomes. Plus you get to show off the outfits that are on the premium side while you complete missions to further along your rift progress. I find this really cool

I think the best way to nerf swf is to not actually nerf swf, because nobody should be punished for playing with friends.
Give us an actual MMR system, so good solo players can win, and a totem counter. Now, we balance the game around how strong swf is, and buff killers accordingly, we should also nerf the perk OoO, so survivors don't get so much free info.
We can also give killers double bloodpoints when playing against swf.
Now this is what I'm talking about. It rewards killers when playing against Swf. I would actually love to see this implemented into the game and seeing how it would work out.

LetsPlayTogether is giving off a poor attitude for discussion but I agree with his sentiment.
I not specifically asking them to nerf their own game. Just giving suggestions for a better gameplay experience. Instead of survivors rushing through gens why not give them a little obstacle that slows the game down 'just a little bit' maybe taking what King mentioned in one of his videos, putting switches on the map that have to be flipped in order for survivors to work on specific gens and maybe when they flip that switch the killer gets notified of that switch. But it's just suggestions nothing to get bent over like LetsPlayTogether was

Yeah. The devs stance is always "we have no control on whether the players use outside programs for voice comms". They know how strong voice comms is and how much they'd have to change(perks, debuffs, balancing, etc.) but they don't want to alienate their swf player base so they continue to dance around the subject despite people complaining about it for years.
Yeah that's the sad part. Instead of nerfing perks they should add something to their lobbies to recognize which players are playing with friends and which are playing solo. I feel like this would help most killers that have a difficult time with Swf at least just a little bit
-
@Momentosis said:
The only way to fix SWF is to balance Killers like every survivor is using comms.
Most suggestions to balance SWF usually points to punishing the players for wanting to play with their friends. Why should the players ever be punished for playing with their friends?
Sucks for solo but if the put in integrated comms and then balance the Killers around SWF, it would be much less of a problem.
Thing is, though, the devs refuse to ever comment on this issue so we'll probably never see anything to balance it.
The thing is they don't want to add comms because every game would basically be a Swf group. They'll either have to buff killers to adjust to facing Swf groups or put something to nerf survivors that play with friends
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Not that I enjoy playing Swf teams myself, but the hard argument simply is this...Killers want to 4k every match and Swf can make that difficult.
Hence complaint.
I can say from playing survivor all this time that this is true. Maybe there could be alternative ways to pip? So that killers don't have to slug/tunnel for the 4k. I just play this game for fun but most killers take this seriously and it's concerning
-
@Yamaoka said:
Being forced to play with only 1 perk because of friends would make the game monotone. You wouldn't be able to play any builds which is the only thing that keeps survivor gameplay interesting.
But that's the point. The more friends you have in your lobby the less perks you have because basically your friends are your perks. They can tell you and you can tell them when the killer leaves them, camping them, which gen they're kicking and basically where they're going. So you'll either be playing for builds or with friends

I dont understand your 90% solo games. You are going to go insane with your randoms. I have been soloing A LOT recently. It's getting very frustrating. These randoms are so bad at looping the killer so they hide in the corner. I remember playing killer and seeing the same randoms I get. A claudette hiding in the corner of the map away from gens.
Only 10% of my solo matches I get good survivors that can actually loop and save properly. I try to stay calm and play the game for what it is and enjoy it but I can't because every game I see someone crouching on a corner when I'm on a hook because I looped the killer for 5 minutes and only 1 gen has been done. Might not touch the game till the new tome comes out because I'm tired of seeing these survivors in my games
-
@azame said:
I feel like I'm at an incredible disadvantage when solo survivor. I uploaded a video where I ran the killer for 5 minutes and only a single gen was done. Also in this game a survivor had disconnected. Solo survivor is just unfun.
I'm never matched up with players that are good or as good as me. It's always players who urban around the map or cant hold a chase. When I'm hooked I've been left to die or left to get second state.
Out of all the swf post solo is not talked about enough. Solo is very bad right now. It's so bad that it encourages swf play because you rather not play with bad randoms.
Just a short rant solo is just bothering me lately.
I just felt this entire post. I play solo 90% of the time when I'm on DBD and it's not fun when you're running a killer around for what feels like forever and yet they only pop one gen. I've dropped DBD till the new tome comes out because I'm not trying to get any more games where I end up dying first hook because my teammates are either too scared to save or too busy crouching in a corner with Urben

- Makes games generally longer which gives more opportunity for everyone to have fun.
Let this stay, thanks. This combo isn't broken or overpowered, people are crying only because they don't want to adapt to it.
If I'm honest. The only combo that should be nerfed is DS+UB. It makes the survivor invincible for 60 seconds, yeah the killer could just slug but then they'll get back up and if they don't slug they can just do a gen. I feel like Ruin+Undying is fine the way it is
