Honestly, Mettle of Man is like old DS. It's not a problem on bad survivors but decent survivors can get the most value from it. Most of the times, it rewards failing because you have to take multiple hits to build it up which means you're likely losing chases.

Old ds could be problem sometimes and its because you could use it from the begining Mom activates only at the middle -end of a game . Get good.

I do believe the current servers are virtual, not bare metal.

That said, it's possible that the current dedicated server experience will not be the final experience.

The best anyone can do is try them out if you wish. Report your findings here. If you find the game is unplayable or "un-fun", revert back to the current live P2P game.

I, personally, will be playing on the PTB servers until the double blood points event. I believe, moving forward, moving towards dedicated servers is the only option. There are a few issues facing the game that cannot be controlled with a P2P framework.

Players take these initial changes too seriously. Being critical of something is fine...feedback needs to communicate the extent to where these changes change the game. However, the "little hen/sky is falling" approach is not productive.

If nothing else, playing on the PTB is absolutely hilarious. There are players that still play this game like they bet their house on the outcome. I've had players DC on PTB....ON PTB and you're DCing? Seriously? It's PTB!!!!

See you in the fog...GL HF.

And people want good changes for the game...

MoM has counters? what are they good sir? not playing an m1 killer? dont be a pepega

Yes it does have counters. Instant down is a counter . Look even if they going to have 3 lifes instant down still counters it . First instant down - > 1 stack to perk, second instant down - 2 stacks , third instant down - > now you can use perk but well you re already dead.

Survivors need to relax and accept you're going to die sometimes and escape sometimes.

No killers in their current state need nerfed, none. If anything a few could do with a polishing/buffing up.

Im solo survivor main, i want challenged not an escort out the exit doors by weak ass killers.

Survivor mains usually dont look like Michael Myers

  • How does it feel to play killer with lag?)

  • Ptb is basically new version that s already live so does it mean people dont care about game itself they only care about progression part?

  • @MojoTheFabulous said:

It doesn't take long for people to test the new things and whatever changes there are, so they jump back to the live build. Plus you can't make any progress in the PTB which is probably a big reason as to why people don't stick around for long.

Its hard to have an impact on this game changes when i cant even test new changes. Can you already play with dedicated servers and test killers latency in current ptb?

Dude .. did you even play the PTB ? Her dash attack Was avoidable . Not anymore if the changes go live .

However her only Flaw are the Add-ons and the fact that her Traps are dependant on Survivors . I feel like Now that Her traps do not activate at end game to accommodate with the new changes which was needed . She needs to Have her Traps Activate Automatically as Soon as Placed on a Survivor or two Random traps would activate as soon as placed and some of her Add-ons buffed a little .

But Devs need to take note of Survivor Side as well if the killer is too impossible to loop , you have no defenses , no chance then nobody would want to play . It has to be fair for both sides .

    I will check it out.

@Peanits The power in an asymmetrical game should always pivot in the favor of the power role. The developers are nerfing ######### left and right based upon rare fringe cases.

In your example with the survivor getting chased by the Pig.. what if the chase was just after the Pig closed the hatch? The survivor is equally #########, with or without a trap on his head. Perhaps you should introduce a grace period where the killer cannot interact with survivors when the end-game triggers, so the survivors can safely open the doors without fear of getting into a situation where they have no chance to win? Wouldn't that be fair?

What you mean by power? You want game to turn into mess where survivors dont stand a chance if killer wants it? Because it does make sense for killer to be OP? I would not play a game where no matter what i do i d lose just because it makes sense for some. Why not have a game where both sides are equal in power instead

A lot of killers aren't have fun in the current game. The stress levels are higher than ever with the exception of maybe back in the Dark Times when games were actually unwinnable by killers. Killers aren't asking for easy 4ks every game, but the people playing that role are largely feeling less and less powerful. Killers have the more dynamic part of the game and get the sense, whether imagined or real, that they are steadily losing more control of situations at all levels of play.

Killers express their frustration with the speed of the game everyday and they get back radio silence. They express their frustration with infinite loops still being in the game. Again, silence. Personally I've expressed an issue with the Lampkin Lane map and Balanced landing making for loops where killers can not gain ground no matter how long the chase lasts. I wasn't anywhere near the first one say anything about it and after all this time silence. It's frustrating as hell and it gets compounded by the fact that the survivor side gets more things that work in their favor than against or at the very least neutral.

It has just started to FEEL as if there is a lot of neglect towards the killer side of the game. We have to have time and chances just as much as survivors do, but we don't get to play from position of strength. We HAVE to have Hex Ruin in our loadout if we don't play one of two killers. If you don't the game can end in less time than it took to get into the game. That isn't fun and it has never been fun. We do more work in the game for less benefit of enjoyment. Survivors have very diverse and well stocked set of tools that provide them with not on multiple chances, but in some cases outright dominance. I have no idea how much louder anyone can say it: Killers want to be able to have the same attention put into making the game fun to actually play again.

So play those killers for ######### sake some killers wont be able to reach those two killers level due to obvious reasons. Nobody does what you people do here. Nobody does buy a game and says i want this killer to be strong not this nobody does that. Accept the game how it is its decently balanced.

@Vlieger Survivors can make several mistakes and still make it out of the gate.

A killer mindgames a single loop wrong and it can literally cost them the entire game and 4 kills even if that was the only mistake they made. Survivors can equip passive perks and make 6+ mistakes and still laugh as they sprint to the exit gate and T-bag. Where's the killer ability to mind game wrong and still slap the survivor to the ground? Where's the killer's ability to just gib a survivor because they did a generator? That's the equivilent to having put up with 12+ second chance perks in a trial, and that's not even counting potential items or SWF on top of it all.

If you have an end game build, then you have a chance to catch up or to make up for it. That's what makes them powerful. However, when you begin nerfing all killer's end game potential to the ground, then there's little to no hope and you may as well just give up. End game is when survivors already have all the power and killers have the least.

Survivor always has a chance to escape -- they have several chances to escape, but killers never always have a chance to get a kill, and that may happen just from one single mistake they made that causes the match to snowball way out of their grasp.

If they want the game to be balanced, killers need to have just as many chances as survivors, whether that means giving survivors less chances (nerfing and reducing the abundance of second chance perks), or giving killers more chances like survivors do (make it take longer to power exit gates). Also get rid of infinites and psuedo infinites.

As it is now, if a team runs an abundance of second chance perks and rushes gens and you're just one of the weaker cast of characters (that being 10 of 15 killers) -- there's no chance to win. It takes way too many hits and way too much time to down a single survivor even if they just ran in a straight line, let alone if they actually loop you.

As I said in other threads, they've gutted killer end game potential just to add a concede button that's on a timer, when all they could have done is just added a concede button.

I had 4 kills games when survivors fixed all gens with me having zero hooks yet and you know why? Because i downed one and gave survivors a real chance to escape alltogether(4 escapes). So yes killers also always have a chance for great win . No survivor leaves if they know they have a chance to get 4 escapes. Get good.

    @Peanits

You mean like the pile of second chance perks Survivors have access to ensure they make it out of the gates? "Oops, I've been hooked. Good thing I have DS into MoM into Dead Hard and out the gate. GGEZ."

Ds is perk for baby survivors. " Killer you cant touch me im inSAFE ZONE"

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/444801#Comment_444801

By that caveat, when 3 gens pop within the first 2 minutes and I haven't even downed someone as a killer, I'm not going to win and the match is a waste of time.

At least with end game builds if a game went by that fast, I'd still have a chance. Now there isn't a chance because most end game power on the killer side has been gutted because Remember Me has been literally halved in power.

In even still, such cases still happen if exit gates spawn close together and the hatch is still closed.

Maybe something like the last survivor alive gets a buff to open exit gates faster would be more appropriate to indirectly nerf Remember Me without making it useless so end game power still exists but never puts anyone in a situation where the game is unwinnable.

Thats like saying: if i already have zero chances of escapin theres no fun for me to play further. Well if you had a bad start then its your fault so you got to continue play with cards you have

  • @Peanits said:

There seems to be a misunderstanding here, by no means is a Killer not supposed to kill. The key is that you need to make sure that both sides always have a chance to win, even if that chance is very slim. To use the pig, as an example, if you got chased for a minute after the End Game started and then trapped, you simple would not have a chance to remove your trap escape by the time you get saved (especially now that the End Game timer is two minutes). You would have to win the lottery and remove your trap on the first box.

If you create a situation where someone has no chance to win, it feels like a waste of time. If you know you're going to die and there's nothing you can do about it, it's going to feel awful. You'll just want to get it over with as fast as possible. The same would go for the Killer side as well. If you were in a scenario where you could not possibly win, you would have a miserable time.

It's a tricky to strike a balance in an asymmetrical game, but it's important to make sure that everyone in the match has a chance up until they win or lose, whether losing is dying or getting sacrificed, or if losing is all the survivors getting out the gates.

What you said is true but if survivor wasnt able to juke that pig in a one min chase then thats survivor should take a loss. Pig is the weakest killer out there and what you did is bad change. You did fix legion issue i hope but what about Doctor. If doctor decides to kill me he will do that. Juking possibility is gone when you play against him and it would be better if you d address that issue instead of turning pig into even more joke.

  • Mettle of man is strong but doesnt need to be removed. It has counters it doesnt activates early game survivor get to become obsession so you know who does have it. It needs to get nerfed slightly it needs to have limits like non obsession users able to use mom only after 4-5 hits.

"A lot of time spent healing"

I don't know about you, but taking 16 seconds to heal myself is not very long. Less with add-ons. Much less with some add-ons or even just running botany. Or hell, someone gets you off the hook and has We'll Make It. A whole 8 seconds. Oh no.

This is beside the fact with stacking additional second chance perks, you may not even need to heal at all.

I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but acting like healing is some huge liability or "wastes a lot of time" is absolutely BS to me. If it was such a liability, why do people do it? Because gaining a health state makes the killer more time in a chase than it takes to heal.

I really, REALLY do not understand why it's so much to ask to rework the perk to just have counterplay for 2/3rds of the Killer caster instead of just shafting them. Not a nerf. Not a buff. Just add counterplay for everyone.

Doc counter stealth perks so why there shouldnt be a perk that he cant counter?

  • @Maj33y she has power to slow game down like legion and freddy. But unlike those to slow game down she needs to down someone first and she doesnt have anything skill based to down that survivor fast she s simply m1 killer. Dash attack is so easy to avoid just like leatherface power. So by the time she downs someone 2 gens already done in best case scenario. Now that for timer to start off survivors need to power gen thats basically ruin her ability to slow game down. Stealth ability doesnt allow her to catch survivors off guard no cause as soon as game starts you already know that you vs pig.

  • @Judith said:

Hooking two people or downing one while having someone hooked is the best medicine for gen rushing. After that just go back and forth.

Thats right. They d be too busy gen rushing being far from each other and if you hook two survivors close its already win. Insta down killers are great for that strat

  • Survivor: lol slugging as Nurse also Noed lol

  • Survivor screwing around after gates were powered...

1)Survivor: What?? How did you end up there ? I was just trying to collect vessel and all of a sudden you there. Coincidence?Reported

Killer: i just was there saw you and killed you simple as that.

    Survivor: Reported

  • Apply pressure its up to you how. BBQ meta with strong addons or smart slugging thats all i know. Try to hook two survivors really close to each other and camp(cross hook) and if you also achieve it with them being close to three gens then congrats you win. I recommend Billy he s the kind of slugging!

I think huntress is also good for that as she can be lethal in close .

  • @Maj33y said:

I played Pig a lot and it's very rare to kill Survivors with Her Reversed bear traps without the add-on that reduce the timer and applying pressure on the trapped survivor .

But with the Stupid End-game collapse her power would have been too op and could be abused by killers .. catching several survivors placing traps and activiating end game .

I'm against this whole end game thing it could've been something much simple to fix lingering survivors . But this brought more issues and can be abused by many killers not just the pig ... Hag , Trapper etc

How Pig could have been abuse it?Yes i read what you said but it doesnt make sense to me. If she catches several survivors how is it not survivors fault?

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/444277#Comment_444277

If only. It starts when a generator is powered while the trap has been placed on the survivor. She's one of those killers whose power depends on the survivors.

@Orion i didnt know that because you usually dont look for counters when killer is already so weak. Now i know that she s even more weak. She s the weakest killer in my book now. Leatherface is way better.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/444277#Comment_444277

    @Slayer

Right now: Traps either activate whenever a Gen is completed or are automatically activated when all 5 Gens are powered.

In PTB, the latter is not the case anymore, so if a Trap is placed on a Survivors Head after the last Gen is activated, it will not activate. And with an inactive Trap, players can walk out of the Exit Gates.

    Its a nerf then

  • @Raptorrotas said:

The terror radius change isnt the problem.

The first problem is that the traps (like certain perks) dont check for the gates powered condition additionally to the generator finished condition.

The second and worst ######### bullshit the devs could ever do to her is that her inactive traps dont prevent escapes anymore. Its worse than myers running out of juice.

Its like making hag unable to teleport once the gates are powered. Pig already suffered from having 2 bad abilities. Now in ptb onef those can also be made useless. Not to mention its the one that 3/4 of her addons modify.

dont know her well but doesnt trap s timer start immediately?

The point still stand the Killer can and still can interact and have a outcome. A Survivor body blocked in the stairs has no options anymore and can't do anything. That is flawed game play. As much as you want to argue you can simply never be near or hooked in the basement, one could easily point to Whisperers for the other issue. (Spies is still a hot mess right?)

Both needed fixed. One has, one hasn't.

And survivors wanted to do nothing besides genrush so they didnt even know that there s a basement down there. Stupid play gets punished by basement. Devs even said that bodyblocking in basement to counter BT is not bannable and is a legit strategy. Hence bodyblocking is not bannable unless someone is doing it to take game hostaged but that s fixed already. End game collapse doesnt allow games to get hostaged // INTENTED FEATURE

    Done!

  • @holywhitetrash said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/443165#Comment_443165

it's not a free kill , the killer chased and downed someone and took them to the basement which means the survivor ran too close to the basement

and a killer on the stairs is absolutely not more exploitable than survivors refusing to leave, survivors chose to go into the basement and wait there as the terror radius approached... the killer had no choice in the survivors being able to just stealth around while the gates are open

And survivors wanted to do nothing besides genrush so they didnt even know that there s a basement down there. Stupid play gets punished by basement. It's really not difficult to find them on YouTube, put in some effort.

As for your "you just need to take OP builds against SWF" statement:

    1) We can't reliably tell if Survivors are in SWF or not.

    2) OP builds are not sustainable.

    1) Open up their profiles if its private its most likely swf and its up to you whether or not to take good build.

    2) BBQ covers for it. The only killers that lacks resources are casuals and wasnt it you saying that the game shouldnt be balanced around 20 rank potatoes?

  • Depip squad IS NOT HIGH LEVEL PLAY

  • @marth88gaming said:

So what I am reading here OP is your asking people for proof when yet you have none yourself. Sounds like to me to me your probably a new player to the game. During these experiements we had it open to people that were notable and wanted to snipe us. Some names for example

Scottjund - Played us during our perkless experiment but refused to play us with perks.

King Dime - One of the OG billies back in the day comparable to Zubat. Played us I think 3 times and he tried to throw EVERYTHING at us each time and couldn't muster the strength.

Multiple Nurses with omega, multi blink etc. This was the killer that gave us the most trouble. Why because it is the nurse nothing else needed there. One of them being Blinkybill. We also faced the Swiftlegend during the anniversary tournament and i think it as a 4 man or 3 man escape.

We faced other billies RyanPez, Griff other notable killers in the community.

The issue with this game is what makes these killers great is NOT that they 4k every game. It is the fact that they can take advantage and punish mistakes of survivors hard and many others that are like you that trash talked the experiment and they stepped up and failed. Here is the thing I don't mention these names to bash but to show that even great killers struggle against survivors with how this game is if there even semi competent. Let me break it down for you.

The object of this game for survivors is to finish 5 generators to power doors. A killer can only chase 1 survivor at a time. A good survivor can easily be chased for 1 min + if they are actually good. So by the time the first hook happens the other 3 survivors are split and are completing or have completed 3 gens. Survivors death timer on hook is 120 seconds. 60 sec per phase. There are a bunch of theories of don't chase the good survivor know when to break off etc the thing is if you facing a good team. That plan doesn't work at all. Now add all of the 2nd chance perks the developers have given survivors to help them along for when the make mistakes. I know because they carried they hell out of us during these experiments. These 2nd chance perks are designed for casuals but rip the game a part at high skill game play.

The thing is depip squad is not even good at a game in my opinion. Prove me wrong. Bring 4 man swf perkless addonless play against me . Lets have around 30-40 games i will prove what i said in this thread. I will run perks though but you dont since swf will cover it up.

  • @DocOctober have you read what opinion i am of those? If you rather hide behind someone elses back when i asked you to prove your words your opinion worth #########. If you re not good then maybe you shouldnt open your mouth as to why one side is not balanced in first place?

  • I play mostly with asian players so no. Whenever i get message as to why im bad at killer i know that i played with european brats.

  • @DocOctober theres no any evidence you re delusional.

1 … 5 6 7 8 9 … 19
