Even taking you at your word, that's still 12 sections, not exact aura reading.

12 sections is precise enough. In a given section you already know where someone is going to be because they will either be on or going to the nearest generator or being chased by the killer at which point it is easy to find the chase using a terror radius or a slightly more precise call out. For example,

"In the long wall at 6"

"Going to need a hit at the filler near 12"

"Only loop at 3 is a TL wall"

Here's a match full of good examples

or make it so survivors see each other's auras at all times unless they are affected by blindness

That's a straight buff to SWF and would widen the gap. For SWF, blindness is a mild annoyance. Furthermore, no SWF knows exactly where each member is, just their teammates' general location from time to time (because it's not like we're constantly giving away our exact location, only when it's relevant).

Comp SWF teams do know where each other are at all times

They use a numbering system that goes clockwise around the map to divide the map into 12 sections and use the numbers to call out locations. This is how they are always able to bodyblock for each other so efficiently and avoid sandbagging their team mates.

  • If you wanted to mostly bridge the gap but keep a small gap, basekit kindred, totem counter, current action indictaor for all survivors on hud (gen, totem, healing, nothing) and chase indicator.

If you wanted to pretty much entirely bridge it, either add comms to the game ,which is a pointless ask because they won't do it, or make it so survivors see each other's auras at all times unless they are affected by blindness in addition to a chase indicator and totem coutner.

  • On killer, Midwich because I'm a blight main and that map is nuts for him.

On survivor, probably thompson house or haddonfield.

  • I personally reccomend not playing solo survivor unless you are just grinding tome challenges and don't care about anything else.

The best way to have fun in this game is to play killer when solo and only play survivor if you are playing with a friend or two. If you really want to play survivor I guess you can try to LFG in the offical discord for a SWF to play with, I've never done that myself but I imagine the average user using discord for LFG is going to better than an average matchmade player and having comms can remove a lot of the frustrations you have with the team

  • Honeslty if you drop an item and someone else picks it up, you should just get altruism points on hte spot for giving someone else an item, doesn't need to be attached to them using it and can be any item.

The better the rarity of the item and it's addons, the more points you get. Brown is worth 100 points, yellow 200, green 300, purple 400, pink 500.

Brown item with 2 brown addons? 300 points.

Pink item with 2 purple addons? 1300 points.

Of course these points can only be gotten once per item, meaning you can't just pass it around for points.

If someone with a looting build supplies their whole team with decent items, instead of just running a white ward and killing themselves on the hook to farm items quickly, they should get some reward for it at least in the form of a few thousand points

  • Hard to say as hag and nurse are pretty bad offenders for game health too.

Hag because she's a boring killer that literally just defends and never chases, to win hag, you just set up a 3 gen at start of match and camp anyone you down inside of the 3 gen.

Nurse teleports through walls, she literally ignores every one of the game's normal chase mechanics, so much so that she's the only killer who is slower than survivors and she still remains one of the strongest despite that.

I decided not to include spirit because the only reason I think she is unhealthy is that she is overpowered and has addons that are too strong as well. You could just nerf her a bit and reign her addons in and she would be fine.

Old legion was pretty unhealthy, new legion is kinda boring and weak, but I don't think he's unhealthy.

    PTB trickster is pretty unhealthy.

Death slinger has to be my main choice though. His power is entiirely impossible to react to if the killer is a quick scoper (you can literally just use a piece of tape or software crosshair and then literally anyone can do it,)

The only way to consistently counterplay a deathslinger is to hold W and early throw pallets before he has the opporunity to use his power. Additionally because there is basically 0 downside to faking a shot, you can just fake shots until you're confident it's an easy hit and the survivor will literally just let you catch up by trying to juke shots you never take. Basically there is no risk on killer's part, he is literally always mindgaming a 20 meter radius around him by just existing. If I were to tweak deathslinger, I'd add a small wind up to be able to shoot kind of like huntress but not quite as long of course and I'd make the ADS slowdown persist for a little longer after you stop aiming in order to make it take skill to aim, predict, and dodge shots. Although as a compensation buff, I think a lot of his addons could use tweaks because most of them are garbage

  • You won't get banned this bug has been reported like 30 times in bug reports

  • What the poster above me said.

While west coast servers are your ideal servers, there are often less players in the crossplay off queue. This means in order to get you a match faster, you end up with slightly less than ideal server location, because there aren't enough people currently matching in your ideal server location.

  • Farming in games usually refers to some kind of manual work that yields a reward, and is typically something repetitive or menial. It's a comparison to the repetitive and tedious labor of farming, but it comes at a reward of a great bounty of food.

Typically getting "farmed" in gaming has always been used as a way to say that your opponent is so far above you in skill that they are literally just going around killing you over and over again and "growing" xp/level/currency relevant to the game youre playing, most common in an FPS. Your opponent is so much better than you, that to them you are just another crop to plant/grow.

The term in DBD stems from the fact that you're just using them to get BP rather than actually trying to play the match, often to their detriment. (farming someone off the hook)

  • Given that EAC is pretty much completly useless in every game that uses due to a recently discovered general exploit, there really isn't anything that's bannable outside of a manual ban issued by the devs

  • @DoomedMind said:

It allows you to know if some loops are safe or not. Some loops are better with or without the breakable doors.

It can also let you know if you're running into a dead end on gideon, which spawns them quite often now.

  • The thing about trickster is that he will inevitably get a down on a survivor regardless of how well that survivor plays, in a pretty consistent time frame that really only varies by map rather than any individual player's skill.

Playing against a trickster is already not fun despite the fact that it's a bad killer. Knives are so spammy and skilless that it's both unsatisfying to play against and avoid despite him not being a strong killer.

Where as huntress is satisfying to outplay and dodge, the trickster is not at all while simultaneously being a much weaker killer.

I'm really not looking forward to the little "buff" they're giving him because they're just making the problem even worse. He still won't be good and he'll still be unfun to play against.

Although I disagree that he's the worst killer in the game. A killer who eliminates survivor skill cannot be the worst without being REALLY bad.

    Trapper is probably the worst.

  • I disliked the massive amount of passive slowdown old freddy had, but if they went back to old freddy, kept the teleport, but scrapped the slowdown I'd be fine with that.

  • The event is fine, the high occurrence of strong BP offerings is really the only good thing.

Crowns are a little boring but cosmetics are nice I guess.

I prefer events where they have offerings that give you extra points for getting hooks and completing generators, like the summer BBQ/

If they cominbed the two event types ie. using a cake lets you get bonus poiints from gens AND gives you more points, then that would be amazing.

  • All my characters are level 50 already, but I have gone through 50 bloodwebs

  • open your windows search bar

    type %localappdata%

Navigate to deadbydaylight -> saved -> config -> windowsnoedditor

    open gameusersettings.ini

    change the following lines

    LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeX=1920

    LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeY=1080

    DesiredScreenWidth=1920

    DesiredScreenHeight=1080

    LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenWidth=1920

    LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenHeight=1080

  • It pretty much still suffers from every major issue it suffered from 5 months ago and issues that have been fixed have been very much replaced by other issues so not really no.

  • Bloodlust 1 is fine but tiers 2 and 3 are unnecessary, promote bad play, and give undeserved hits.

From what I remember someone saying, the reason Crowns are that way for survivors is so they don't sabotage or do nothing when they get it (otherwise they got what they wanted and can allow themselves to just die). But since escaping is a condition they have to contribute.

There are many things I dislike about that though, survivors could just as easily not do anything and get hatch, and for some reason a lot of killers this event just don't want survivors to get crowns (recently came from a Wraith game where they brought an Ebony Mori).

I say instead of a survivor having to escape, they have to do generator progress (the amount of 1 gen) to get the crown.

Killers can get their crown and do nothing thus ruining the match for survivors though.

By that logic killers need to get at least a 2k to get their crown.

  • Most of the options you provided are pretty bad for 1 group or the other.

Probably demo and plague are the least bad offenders though.

Plague and demo can be miserable to play though against good survivor teams.

Plague can be miserable to play against if your team sucks.

  • Anti totem perks suck. Looking for totems is bad.

best counter to noed is just to let him have his 1 noed kill and leave the match.

You can see this in comp, despite noed being very common there, players do not cleanse totems, instead they opt to spend their time completing generators faster and they will cleanse the noed totem after it's lit if they find it without risking themselves or they will simply leave the hooked player to die.

Anyways, I don't know why I bothered responding on this post, since it's a troll post, but I just wanted to share.

  • Prestige cosmetics are the best options for some characters.

  • If a survivor runs away from a loop while you're mind gaming, it means you got outplayed. Mindgames aren't one way the survivor or the killer can win them and if you think a survivor is going to leave the loop then you shouldn't try a mind game. If you go for a mindgame and the survivor successfully predicts/reads you and leaves the loops while you're mindgaming yourself, that's on you.

The counter is to successfully predict the survivor. Will they play the loop or will they run away from it?

  • Best is Midwich or Macmillan probably

Midwich has really solid collision and it's long open hallways with just enough junk for bumping make this maps biggest weaknesses for killers nothing to blight. Most of the pallets minus a few god pallets can be outplayed by a blight too.

Macmillan has shelter woods which is pretty decent for blight mainly because it's just an awful map for survivors and doesn't have any features that are particularly bad for a blight. Coal tower is also decent for him. The others in this realm are all not bad but not great either.

Worst is probably coldwind, swamp, or crotus.

Coldwind has a lot of slippery objects which normally isn't too bad if you learn them because you can use it to your advantage but the lack of a significant number of objects on this maps means it's often hard to bump efficiently. It's also difficult to get rush hits on the corn if a survivor doesn't have high contrast clothing on.

Swamp has some awful collision in many places including the map main features which are already weak spots for blight. The docks can also be very difficult to play as blight.

Both crotus main buildings are pretty awful for blight which is enough to make me say it's one of his worst because both main features and right in the center of the map and take a significant portion of it up.

If you’re paying attention you can still hit skill checks with a 5 stack huntress lullaby. This post is about people who choose to cause their own problem, not disabled people.

Just because they're choosing to listen to music doesn't make it a bad suggestion. There is literally 0 reason not to have this. just have a visual cue on screen at the same time the audio cue happens. Huntress lullaby would of course be changed to also delay or remove this cue.

  • As a workaround, press the attack button while holding the power button or press both at the same time in order to begin a rush and fix this bug

  • Press your attack button and power button at the same time to fix this bug

Whatever. The skill check doesn’t start in the skill check zone.

That's like saying 5 stack huntress lullaby doesn't do anything, it does and players with hearing loss are pretty much always playing with 5 stack lullaby.

  • @Yords said:

or you could just turn off your music

This is still great accessibility for the hard of hearing so I don't see why not.

  • Hopefully Tuesday

  • While you didn't do something wrong here let me make a minor correction.

Survivors are obligated to attempt to do the generators, but if the killer 3 gens excessively it can be considered holding the game hostage if the killer is clearly not attempting to actually kill the survivors but just delay them as long as possible.

For example I had a game VS a doctor with lullaby and overcharge and unnerving, who just held a 3 gen all game and his lullaby totem was in the middle of the 3 gen where we couldn't get it.

The doctor never took a chase and if you ran away from the very tight 3 gen he would drop you to continue protecting the 3 gens and the totem at the same time. My survivor team tried to Knock away at the gens but any time you tried to work gens he would push you off/injure and drop when you ran away and kick the gen overcharge. This match when on for 30 minutes because that's how long it took for us to slowly work through 1 of the 3 generators with lullaby and overcharge and him refusing to leave. (Unnerving overcharge skill checks can be easy to miss and lullaby increases their regression by 6% even with no stacks, so if you dare to miss a skill check you get your gen regressed by 11% or about 9 seconds of repair in addition to like 2.5 seconds where the gen stops repairing all together after a skill check is failed). After 30 minutes of that we finally finished the last gen and he DCd when it happened.

In the end game chat he called us racial slurs.

The entire thing got recorded and sent in a customer support ticket and I think you can guess what happened next.

  • It's also possible a survivor was crouched on the other side tapping it every time you kicked it.

Kicking a generator is usually a waste of time without pop though

  • Probably in the next hotfix update. Hopefully on tuesday

  • If you got protection hit scoring event then you're supposed to get MoM stacks so that's a bug

Has anyone talked to Oracle about this? What do they think? Do they think the game is fine, do they have suggestions on what they would do to fix things?

Even if you think DBD should be balanced around top % there is another fundamental issue. These top % SWF teams are all using comms and in some cases discord screen sharing on a second monitor to share information.

No matter what you do as long as the devs refuse to give survivors basic information (without needing perks) + voice chat, then balancing around these top level teams will make the game unplayable for anyone who isn't doing that.

Let's loot at the dota example. Pro dota teams of course are talking to each other, but even casual players can see information about their other team mates (like their build and current performance in the match), can see everything their team mates can see, have voice chat, text chat, and a quick chat.

Of course in dota it's fair because both sides have that information, but that show's scott's point. Because killer is basically a different game from survivor. In order to get it to be balanced the amount of large sweeping changes you would need is nearly impossible.

You'd first have to close the gap between a team of randoms and a premade team so there isn't quite as big an informational gap (WITHOUT USING PERKS, premade teams don't need perks to do it, why do solos)

Then you'd need to balance killers around the new power level.

Then you'd need to get all the killers at the same power level.

At the rate BHVR changes those things and their unwillingness to do a lot of it, it's never going to happen

  • Nemesis kit is a decently well rounded one, only lacking in mobility.

He's got some tracking with contamination making survivors blue and noisy + zombies give info across map. (chasing zombie = survivor there, not chasing zombie means probably no survivor there, stunned zombie means survivor there)

Zombies can also slow down gen repair kinda passively without you doing anything by kicking survivors off gens even if only for 10-20 seconds. With ruin that 10-20 seconds means a lot. Ruin + Undying seems like a no brainer for him because of that.

Occasionally when you're lucky zombies give you some chase value by showing up on loops.

His tentacle while taking 3 hits compared to the normal 2 is a ranged attack that will go over pallets and windows and break pallets.

He's not A tier, but I don't think you can put a kit that well rounded in C tier, he's got too much going for him. With some minor improvements he's easily got A tier potential

  • I know Mclean plays a lot.

    Almo plays a bit.

Probably others but those two are the only ones that stream it with a fair amount of consistency.

  • It's -20% speed but it only lasts .25 seconds and because they're getting hit they get the +50% boost for 2 seconds so it only very slightly negates the on hit speed.

  • They should make the ultra rare give a smaller but permanant bonus to speed each time a gen completes. like .5 m/s each time a gen pops.

This means once all gens done zombies are only a little slower than survivors running.

  • You have to be in the main menu to change your crossplay setting.

If you are in the play as survivor or play as killer menu it will not work
