It just seems like pandering lol. Like, this isn't The Sims 4 where dating is a game feature. Who cares?? It doesn't affect anything in gameplay. Just weird to make a big deal out of it.

Seems like the heterosexual and homophobic people are the actual insecure ones when they can’t live with anything LGBTQ+ related in their videogame that already has multiple heterosexual relationships 🤷♂️
Youre the one making a big deal about it. Not me. Only explanation is you feel insecure and need external validation to have random video games that have nothing to do with sexuality ...
-
Nurse needs to be revamped. Disable and revamp. Along with Bubba.
-
Who cares?
What does it matter? Why does his sexuality matter?
Has nothing to do with gameplay

If anything, he needs a buff. He's noted as being the "easiest killer to loop" in the game.
LOL what a big liar. Thats easily Michael Myers. EASILY. And several other killers. Bubba is one of the strongest chasers in the game due to his ability to eat pallets quickly and continue to chase while always threatening an insta down.

Checkmate.
Is that how you use that phrase? Idk. But yeah. Calm Spirit.
Even if one person runs Calm Spirit (low chance), the Killer still tunnels the other 3 people.
BBQ Chilli + Iron Maiden is the perfect tunneling combo.
-
@TheSubstitute said:
You're running Iron Maiden instead of a more useful perk. How did the killer not just counterplay themselves in most scenarios by using a perk slot on Iron Maiden?
In combination with BBQ Chili, both IM AND BBQ are perfect harmony. Only countered by a park nobody ever runs... and not all 4 Survivors will run it.

You are missing the point, leatherface can
- cover a tone of distance with his swing
- instantly down with it
- down multiple people with it
- insane speed with it
- Have full control over it, complete mobility
- Force early pallet drops
- instantly break pallets
- Immediate use of it (build up).
None of this individually is an issue, not one of these is overpowered. But when you throw all of this on one Killer, you get a low skilled over tuned killer. All of those instant downing killers you named have some downside to their power. Myers takes build up, Trapper is luck based, Huntress requires an addon (and one hatchet is quite balanced, weak even), or if your talking about the hatchet, m1 combo that can only be done in specific situations HIllbilly is forced to commit to one direction allowing for survivors to predict and dodge. Death slinger needs and addon, ghotface can have his exposed negated ect. Not one killer comes close in comparison to bubba in terms of what they can do with their instant downing ability.
this person gets it.
Bubba is ridiculous. Yesterday I played against a Bubba who was swinging his chainsaw as he mindgamed back and forth around a rock. He could control Bubba so well DURING THE CHAINSAW SWINGING that he was able to double back and double back over and over, trying to mindgame me until he finally was able to get a good angle and then just insta down me due to how much ground he covers while swinging.
-
Doesn't work well. Some killers are insanely fast at moving across the map. Or it's Huntress with a ranged hatchet. Killer still knows your location and you have to get off the gen and hide from the patrol.

@CakeDuty said:
I think it depends on what kind of Nurse it is.
I personally find an average Nurse fun to go against, but a good Nurse with good add ons slowdown perks and I give up immediately, they clearly just want an easy 4k, so I'll just give it to her and get to the next game, cause survivors aren't going to stand a chance or have any fun. She is the one killer that breaks everything DbD is. Pallets? Useless. Windows? Useless. Walls? She ignores those as well. There's nothing you can do against a good Nurse.
So I assume that's why most people just wanna die and go to the next game.
Nurse also ignores FLOORS. She can be on the bottom floor of Midwich school, and just fly up straight above her to hit you on the 2nd floor, she completely breaks the need to use stairs on the map.
Again, I am blue in the face making posts over and over about how BHVR needs to focus on -FUN- for both sides in their designs. Nurse needs a total revamp, her design is toxic. So is Bubba. People say Bubba's camping is a problem, but the reason he can camp so well is because of his overpowered base kit.
-
@JaviiMii said:
Bubba is scary when you don't already know what strategies work against him and have the skill to execute them.
That's especially frustrating cause you also don't get many chances to learn, especially when all players involved are newbs. New Bubbas seem to often be drawn to facecamp and NOED - and since newer players also don't know how to dodge the chainsaw or can loop tight enough around objects or get vault timing right etc his chainsaw gives him the one down he needs pretty early on. This also means that new players never get the chance to actually learn how to counter a Bubba until they're pretty skilled when it comes to the game mechanics needed in a chase (a lot of which comes down to good old practise over time).
I'm slowely leaving the "newb category", I think, as I'm getting to a place where I have enough control over my survivor's movements and can recognise enough tiles to actually have something you can call a chase (as opposed to "press W and hope you find something you can run around three times before getting downed" 😂) - and I start to get an idea of how to dodge Bubba.
There is no counter to Bubba unless there's a window nearby but that makes you predictable to easy M1's. AND WINDOWS ARE NOT READILY AVAILABLE ALL OVER EVERY MAP. And pallets are worthless because apparently the Devs thought it was ALSO a good idea to let Bubba wreck pallets really fast with little downtime.
So you see the problem. He insta downs you with no pre-requisite (stalk meter, etc). And if there's no window nearby, now what? At least vs Billy, he has to dive at you in a straight line, and you can dodge out of his path. But Bubba? The devs thought it was a good idea to allow Bubba to swing and swing and swing WHILE TURNING CORNERS EASILY LOL
NO KILLER SHOULD BE ABLE TO INSTA-DOWN A HEALTHY SURVIVOR FROM HEALTHY TO DYING STATE WITHOUT A PRE-REQUISITE.
NO KILLER SHOULD BE ABLE TO INSTA-DOWN A HEALTHY SURVIVOR FROM HEALTHY TO DYING STATE WITHOUT A PRE-REQUISITE.
NO KILLER SHOULD BE ABLE TO INSTA-DOWN A HEALTHY SURVIVOR FROM HEALTHY TO DYING STATE WITHOUT A PRE-REQUISITE.
For example, for Myers to insta down you, he has to stalk all the way up to Tier 3. So there is counter play there. For Ghostface to insta down you, he has to fill stalk meter on you, so there is counter play there. Billy can insta down but he has to charge at you in a straight line, so you can dodge so there is counter play there.
BUBBA HAS NO COUNTER PLAY, HE JUST STARTS SWINGING FROM MINUTE ONE and you're only salvation is a Window. Which makes you PREDICTABLE because he starts revving his chainsaw, and he KNOWS your only salvation is that Window, so he'll fake a revv and then just M1 you at the window. Rinse and repeat.

@[Deleted User] said:
Camping is the issue, campers are actually the issue; he is fine, campers are not fine and I can understand the frustration behind this.
Bubba is good at camping, even though survivors should not be as altruistic giving him free kills... they still do and Bubba players who do that are satisfied by the outcome doing more and more.
He is decent for difficulty, good for starters (till you reach a good MMR, Wraith is better), hard to master at the highest level, lately people find him fun (Love this); Besides the campers/basement campers and all the memes behind him, not an issue imo.
The issue is NOT camping. The issue is his ridiculous base kit, which is what enables him to camp. If Bubba had to "stalk you and fill the meter" or something BEFORE he can swing his chainsaw at you, then camping wouldn't be a problem because he wouldn't have time to do it.
The Issue is his kit. That's what causes the other problems.
Bubba is a insta down with no requirements. It's a stupid killer and I completely sympathize with the players who don't want to play vs him.

What's next complaining when your mates don't bring all the meta perks because thats also effecting your games

Dont think the vast majority of the playerbase likes going againts a Spirit or a Bubba.
A good Nurse is a pain to deal with but it feels so good when you juke her.
For Spirit or Bubba it never feels good no matter what happens.
Blight is also a high skill killer that has a lot of counters still.
Hag I personally find really fun to play and go againts since I love her jumpscare factor that always keeps you on edge and punishes mistakes you could have avoided easily.
Bubba is strong even without his camping that a lot of Bubbas rely on.
Spirit is the same old boring 50/50 where there's no skill involved but pure luck.
Oni I personally dont like going againts, but you can easily deny his power especially in the boon meta.
Artist is a killer I wish it wasn't released in the first place, her power is the embodiment of boring and unfun on both sides, her biggest strenght is zoning you in a corner with her crows with no escape,"fun gameplay" .
Make killers like Billy meta,I always have fun going againts Billys and feels the best when you juke them.
The argument of,killers are not supposed to be fun to go againts, yes it should, who wants to play a game where just playing it is unfun.
Both sides should be fun to play no matter how strong or weak a killer is.
There's strong killers I enjoy going againts as much as weak killers.
This is my tierlist of which killers are the most unfun or fun to play againts.
LOL are you joking whos the genius who made that horrible list

nurse, bubba, are the 2 most dumbass killers this game has to offer
doctor isnt too far behind

Same with getting crows while hiding? I have literally never heard that complaint before. You can move around instead of being paralyzed in fear you know.
Baby survivors I swear.
You are rude and promote toxic selfish gameplay. You are exactly the type of player DBD needs to steer away from.
-
I have said this over and over. The devs don't seem to understand that they need to value FUN FACTOR when designing -anything- in DBD.
It needs to be fun for both sides.
The Nurse is a toxic anti-fun killer. She breaks one of the core basic tenets of the game - which in my opinion is THE most fun thing about this game - the chase. Nurse just goes through walls, pallets, it's just dumb.
The Doctor is another toxic anti-fun killer. He breaks another core tenet of the game - the patrol portion. No point in hiding, Doctor just AOE and boom finds you.

Lol... What? The only reason it exists is purely to prevent survivors from hiding in the same spot. If you get crows and you aren't genuinely afk, you are doing something very wrong.
Hide in locker as killer is coming right at you --> Killer stays right near you for a long time, searching the area ---> AFK Crows ---> Killer finds you
This literally just happened to me. If I came out, killer would see me. So I stayed in the locker waiting for killer to leave the generator area, and he wouldn't. I got AFK crows and killer found me.
I argue that this should be fixed. If killer is near you in terror radius = AFK Crow timer is paused.

It's like playing one side for a long time benefits your gameplay when playing the other side or something
Heck it's the reason why I know how to be in long chases with a bubba like all you basically need is one of these three perks lithe ,sprint burst or balanced landing if you get a map with a drop combined with spine chill and resilience(for the scenario of a bubba smacking you with his m1) for quick vaulting and you have a 4th slot open for a perk my friend recommends windows of opportunity but for me I have iron will for mine just so I can heal myself/get healed in the scenario I get hit with the m1 and lose the bubba or the bubba gives up the chase
Like the bubba usually gets me in the end but by the time he gets me 2 and a half gens are usually done keywords usually
Nice try. You talk as if Survivor's know which Killer they are facing, and then can go, "oh Ill equip this and this and this for Bubba"

So you don't run DS?
Survivor mistakes....
Perks don't mean much for you but it's what you faced... If you are new to playing a certain Killer
So you Camped and Tunneled... cause that's what the "meta" is right now... If you want to get a kill
Not really all Survivors had Purple perks... In the End game pic you showed... A Survivor had three yellow perks and another one had one green level perk
I'm by no means arguing for Bubba to stay the same... But coming here and saying that "I'm new at playing this Killer, look at my perks... and I got 15 Kills should've been 16 but I mistimed DS" doesn't sit well with me
How do you play against a Bubba? and did those Survivors play against you in the same way?
It's simple. Survivors have to stay near windows to avoid the chainsaw. When they do this, I turn into an M1 killer and mindgame and chase. I eventually catch them as they abuse the window too much and need to move to another playground. And that is when chainsaw comes in and it's over. Bubba is ridiculously easy to play and is way too strong. I already knew this, but actually playing Bubba, I was in disgust at how easy 4K's come. Don't even THINK of running to me and trying to take an hit for an injured survivor, because that puts YOU in my chainsaw crosshair... full health to dying in 1 hit.
THINK ABOUT IT. Ghostface can 1 hit but only AFTER he stalks you completely. Myers can 1 hit, but again, he needs to stalk to charge up T3, and it does run out and he has to do it over again.
WHY DOES BUBBA GET AN INSTADOWN with no stalking or prerequisite????

100% this.
I am a hider. The game was made with hiding as the intended gameplay mechanic, not looping. That said, I only like to hide between objectives. I would never hide doing nothing for 10 minutes just to draw the game out. But if a killer is coming towards me, I am not gonna click a flashlight at him, I am gonna circle the tile slowly to avoid his notice.
Mostly cause I treat this game as a horror game not NASCAR simulator.
Yup this is how I play. I do objectives, and when the killer comes, I don't let him see me and make him waste his time searching the area. Sometimes very good killers will be persistent and look everywhere and I get found, but most of the time I am able to hear the terror radius coming and back off the generator. I get right back on the gen as soon as he leaves lol. Which is what annoys some killers. The killer kicks the generator, leaves, then comes back to a working generator again.. so he KNOWS I am nearby but he gets mad he can't find me lol

Or maybe. They should fix maps and make it so people don't feel like they NEED to do that.
Maybe stop asking for things to harm killers/punish them. And more for things that make the game more fun for both sides.
Stop asking for terrible ideas like double DS or extended hook times
The entire game needs to be looked at, to revamp and redesign every killer and survivor so that it is FUN for both sides. There's way too many toxic perks and gameplay in this game. I am still shocked the developers thought it was a good idea to say "survive together.. or don't" and promote toxic solo gameplay. That makes NO sense in a game that relies on teammates to unhook you and work together to do objectives. There needs to be overhauls.
-
The devs need to focus the game on removing all "UNFUN" experiences
Bubba's design is not fun for 4 survivors, it needs changes.
Same as Doctor and Nurse.

@Munqaxus said:
I still play both sides but usually am playing more survivor games now because friends want to join me.
- I think one major theme I see now as survivor, that I never thought about as killer. I feel like I'm forced to always take Decisive Strike because there has been so many games, where I literally couldn't play because there's a lot of killers that will tunnel-off-hook-till-dead survivors, if you don't run it.
- Face-Camping Leatherface, I can almost guarantee that Leatherface is going to camp if I play against him.
You nailed the first two.
Right now, I consider Bubba to need HARD nerfs. His facecamping is ridiculous, and not only that, but his chase ability is too strong. Why can he destroy pallets so quickly with such a little delay? Why can he swing his chainsaw so many times? Why can he insta down from the start of the match without having to charge it or stalk you? and it's AOE? I have so many complaints about Bubba. He is the definition of a toxic killer that is NOT fun for 4 people in his match.
Yes, the tunneling is a problem too. I suggest DS should be basekit on all survivors, just to take the game into a direction where it's more fun for everyone.
Another problem, is Doctor's AOE ability. He never has to look for anyone. And the Nurse being so unstoppable in the hands of a good Nurse.. she can go through walls and pallets like #########?
-
@drsoontm said:
That doesn't sounds like the complete story. Hiding is fine, even if it's just boring.
If survivors hide very well (pretty rare) I'll often let them do all their gen in peace an leave. I'm there to chase and be evaded. I have no interest for immersed gen-jockeys. They can take their ~13K bloodpoints and enjoy the next queue.
However, if one survivor is so much into hiding he doesn't help his teammates, it tends to annoy me. I often ensure he will not exit the game through any door. I'm pretty sure this feeling is shared by many players.
This should cover all the cases that come to mind about hiding. See which one applies to you.
As a team, we only completed 2 generators. I did 1 all by myself, and co-op the 2nd. I also unhooked two people, and healed like 3 people.
But the killer struggled to find me.
Interesting that you share the same animosity. What is an "immersed gen-jockey" ? You expect me to sit on generator, let you see me, and then go on a chase every time?

I don't need to disprove a point you've not made with any coherence. I've literally exposed the flaw in your logic in the most basic form possible, and asked for your clarification on the matter. Thus far you've refused to provide anything of the sort and have just resorted to a variety of logical fallacies that only highlight your ignorance on such matters.
It's a simple enough question... do you believe that a killer who achieved their objective (in your case) should face easier survivors so they can continue killing them (and thus go against easier opponents again), whilst you - even though you died and failed as a survivor (in a clinical sense) - should go against more adept killers, where you'd likely continue to die? Make that make sense. That's literally what you're arguing for, and if you can't make it make sense, then that should be cause for reflection.
"get off of my thread"
Last I checked, you don't own threads, nor have any authority to dictate who may or may not engage. It's a public forum. If you don't like it, or you don't like your opinion being challenged, don't post.

Alright, I'll cop to forgetting that- but it would still divert a lot of resources away from future issues and hamstring how much attention can be paid to maintenance for outdated designs and balance.
I do want to contest that it'd lower queue times, though. Surely it would run the risk of making queue times worse, because the playerbase would be split between two separate game modes?
I promise you, the amount of players who WANT to be competitive, is several factors larger than the "lol its just a silly party game bro" players. Introducing such a system, would only attract more competitive players to DBD, and keep them here.
Ranked would have lower queue times.
Unranked would experience higher queue times yes.

Leave her disabled for as long as possible. Throw in The Doctor and Bubba while you're at it. As the Nurse, Bubba, and the Doctor are horrible experiences to go against.

It doesn't really change the overall point, though.
Let's grant that an emblem-based competitive mode could still work. It still doesn't really make any case for why you'd want that. The only concrete thing you've given me for that is the idea that an e-sports team would bring in more players, but we've also gone over why optimal play kills tournaments already if they don't put a ton of arbitrary rules on those games and it still doesn't change the fact that designing the kind of system you're talking about would take an immense amount of time and resources.
And at the end of all that time... the core game would still have every single flaw it currently has, and nothing's actually been fixed. It's just not a good idea, you'd have to change so much of how DBD works just to get it limping across the finish line- and the issues with the core game wouldn't be addressed, which would only make it weaker.
Bottom line is: Changing the emblem system to incentivise altruistic, active play is a great idea. A competitive mode has no intrinsic merit and would be an absolute bottomless pit of dev time and resources, on top of actively undoing at least part of that incentive to play actively and altruistically.
With all due respect, actually, I said :
"Because AFTER we fix these problems, then the game will be ready for a real Ranking system with competitive play and ranked games, with division placements."
Ranked games. Division placements.... this is totally separate from e-sports.
This would be an attractive matchmaking system for competitive people who do not want to be paired with "lol its just a silly party game bro" players.
Foster a more competitive scene, and create a new grind to keep people playing, which lowers queue times, and garners more attention to the game.
