Hii,
So I´ve been thinking of this for a while.
As you know, if you disconnect from a game for whatever reason, you´ll get a penalty that prevents you for joining queue for another games; theorically this is fine, it prevents rage quitters from leaving early, however, when you play a lot, you´ll notice that it doesn´t make that much of a difference, and in fact, prevents ALL of the players from playing what they like the way they like.
I myself hate the cenobite, it´s a boring killer that makes me want to turn off my computer just by hearing his terror radius. I usually just give it a chance, but generally I don´t like to play against him, so why do I have to? I paid for my game, I paid for skins, I paid for DLCs and I WANT TO PLAY THE GAME THE WAY I WANT, I don´t want to wait 5 or 15 minutes every time I disconnect because some killer was farming bloodpoints or slugging everybody.
What do you think about this issue? There are other ways to solve this than going the easy way like the devs did.
I agree with you 100%.
I see Nurse, I don't want to play.

Perk Mercy Kill (aka Bye B***h!) 🤣
I think the last standing survivor deciding that would be hugely unfair, if anything, just give the slugged survivor the option to Resign/Suicide/Bleedout faster after a certain period of time.
i think it's very fair. otherwise it's the killer deciding it anyway. someone has to decide it. and if the killer picks who lives and who gets to escape, how is that fair either?
this is a great perk idea.
How it works :
ET TU, BRUTE?
For every Survivor that dies, you gain 1 token. When you have 2 tokens, this perk activates.
Upon activation, you have the ability to mercy kill a downed player.
-
no chance I'm wasting a spot on Self Care. You can always just bring a medkit or find one in a chest, or just bring CoH which is better anyway

This is the a perk I would want to see in this game. When it's down to the last 2 survivors, and one is slugged, the remaining survivor should have a perk to finish off the slug.
This would solve the age-old problem of the killer slugging for the 4k with no information; and remove alot of the working with the killer sandbagging (cheating) that happens in those situations
Thoughts?
This is the greatest idea for DBD I have ever heard. I -love- this idea. We need it to prevent the 4k slugging and snitching and all this nonsense where killers are too scared to play the game and have a hatch/exit gate challenge.

The point they’re saying is that per the patch notes the survivor is supposed to take damage if they’re too close on the other side of the pallet specifically to prevent them from 100% being able to vault back over on reaction to Wesker vaulting. But that’s exactly what is happening in this clip, it looks like it might be a bug where Wesker is automatically doing damage on the other side to survivors right next to him like he’s supposed to.
This probably should be moved to the Bug report section.
Why should survivors be prevented from vaulting back on over? That is active, fun counterplay. If the Wesker sees them do it, just break the pallet. problem solved, seems like it shouldn't be touched. fine the way it is.
-
or.. you could break the pallet. Seems to be fine.

Letting people go in a video game is causing depression? You good? (Nice edit btw)
I was trying to be sensitive to the people on this forum with that condition (not me). Clearly you don't care about them either. I care, be like me.

Yes and you're making people feel bad. You are selfish for letting everyone go. You and all killers need to stop it immediately to get rid of this culture.

Yes thank you. But killer takes blame there too. The right thing to do, is not to play Dungeon Master, and instead, show up and start a massacre. Hooks for everyone. If every Killer does this, then survivors won't pull that "work with killer" stuff anymore.

Now you revert back to bullying. I am dead serious.
Favoring one player and not the other is wrong. One of them gets to escape, and the other gets to watch you hook and kill them for no reason.
My solution to this problem is asking you to kill everyone. Seems logical to me.
What other solution is there? Clearly against the rules to be letting people go and it promotes snitch culture. There is no other solution to avoid making the 2nd final survivor feel bad. How is this crazy to say.

It's incredible how much I can speak and how little you actually read any of it.
"Working with survivors" is not goofing off. It's not having a cute moment with the killer and the killer being friendly to you later. And it is not ignoring one survivor to target others. Working with survivors is either farming (which is mutually beneficial and not against the rules) or actively helping the killer find and kill them (which is against the rules, and I have always decried it, despite your repeated claims to the contrary because you seem fundamnetally incapable of understanding the difference.) Doing your own thing while the killer kills other survivors and ignores you is not teaming, and neither are mid-match shenanigans.
This stopped being about working with survivors the second you started complaining about killers having favorites or sparing anyone for any reason at all. You have been complaining about this for the entire thread.
Like so, you want a very boring DBD with no human element because that human element sometimes likes other people more than you and it makes you feel bad. Luckily, it doesn't seem like many people agree with you, and my DBD will continue to have the occasional silly moment sprinkled in.
Not sure where you even got the 'I need to mess around with the opposite side to have fun' from??
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3182349#Comment_3182349
I actually did. It stems from another person giving their criteria for why they spare players while you whine at them. You're complaining that you're low on the scoreboard despite doing match things and that it's not fair the killer/your teammates thought you didn't do anything. I'm arguing that you actually did do less meaningful contributions than the other players and it's totally legit that the killer thought another player was worthier than you.
If you don't like reading, then I'll put it in nice short words: Not taking chases while your teammates die makes you a bad teammate.
Yeah you speak a lot, I agree. But you're a Killer main, so you will be biased. You know it's wrong to let people live and work with survivors to find the last one and play favorites. You're hurting the other survivors feelings, don't do it anymore. I am disallowing it. Just do your job and kill everyone.

Project harder. Most players do not have a conniption when someone else gets hatch. In my experience, people often get annoyed if the hatch player deliberately sold them out, or if they were a hider/useless. The rest is just generic saltiness.
It really sounds like you just need to stop spectating if it gets you this steamed that other players get to live when you didn't. If you lack the self-control to stop, get a SWF or play killer.
This is an issue with you failing to deal with your emotions, not an issue with the game's climate. You are asking in no uncertain terms for the game to be less reactive and to have less positive and even understanding moments because someone might feel bad they weren't involved. To which I say - if you wanted to be involved, get involved. Whether that's trying to have a funny moment with the killer, giving up your item, or just being helpful, respectful, sympathetic, and self-sacrificing and seeing where the cards fall. If you are never getting hatch and your killers frequently go out of their way to see you dead instead of your teammates, this likely has something to do with your playstyle or behavior in game.
No, my emotions are just fine. I can do generators when a killer is nearby and hit skills checks. Except you don't even give me credit for that, since gens apparently don't matter, and you victim blame me for not intentionally running at killer and taking chases. It's not my fault you can't find me and yet I still do 3 gens.

I can generally tell when someone actually did stuff and when someone just hid the entire time and didn't do stuff.
But at this point, we're just going round and round in circles so I refer back to Dr Cox on my thoughts and bow out of this werid-ass thread...

Funny thing - your Boldness score is very low. Altruism and Objective are important, but Boldness is the real measure of how much value a survivor provided their team. Anyone with a brain can sit on a gen with PT and hit skill checks or sneak in for a safe unhook; it takes an actually good survivor to both buy time for their team and to recognize "hey, my teammates are in trouble and I'm not, I should go take the heat so that they stay in the game longer."
If everyone got out because your teammates were running the killer successfully, then this whole thing about the killer picking favorites is a moot point. If most everyone died because your teammates were running the killer while you sat in the back doing gens, and you did not try to divert the killer when those teammates were on their last legs, that is partially your fault and a very valid reason for the killer to want to reward a teammate who wasn't you.
And before you jump down my throat for being a killer main or whatever (again...) while these are the judgements I'll make as a killer, this is very much coming from the perspective of a survivor. I'm not impressed by gen jockeys. Sure, it's part of what any team needs to function and I like that much more than teammates who do nothing at all, but it doesn't make you the MVP. True altruism isn't points farming, it's throwing yourself in danger to try and keep your teammates alive.
You apparently didn't read the context of that post. Not reading all that since you didn't read the discussion.

@Laluzi said:
God, you're on this again? This is what, the fourth thread about this in a week?
It's incredible that somehow you think it's healthier for the game's community to have killers unequivocally murder everyone and promote a 'no fun allowed' environment because you're so butthurt over the idea that other survivors did cute things that made the killer like them more than you. Because from where I'm standing? The real toxicity is this idea that it's unfair and unacceptable that the killer was nice to someone who wasn't you.
Today I played a match on Dead Dawg. Claudette was first down and tried to suicide on hook - she DCed when I reached her before she could get out the easy way. The Wesker kept playing normally after that, but I noticed he seemed to be slugging people who were on death hook instead of hooking them (while making no attempt to defend the slugs), and there was one moment earlier in the match where I beckoned him (I was trying to get him to chase me instead of Jonah, who was first on death hook) where I thought he might have been following me around instead of actually trying to kill me, at least until I pallet stunned him. So I took a chance and went table dancing after he slugged me on the down that should have taken me out of the game. He table danced with me and then left. I collected items for an item shop instead of continuing to work on gens, since I was only alive at his sufferance anyway. A few minutes later, he killed the other two players, then came back to my Jane Mart and led me to the hatch.
Jonah and Kate probably weren't happy about dying while I was being useless, but from how long it took for him to chase them, it looked like Wesker gave them the chance to play around and they didn't take it, and he was willing to farm or fool around but not hand out a free win if they weren't going to acknowledge him. He won the match at 3 gens and they only got more gens done because he let them get back up (and then wasted time with me.) Personally I think what happened here was way a healthier experience than Wesker just massacring everyone after the Claudette was a typical ragequitting baby. Which is what you're asking killers to do.
But it doesn't matter either way. People are going to play how they want. Sparing a survivor/choosing to kill one over the other is not the same as working with them no matter how many times you repeat this falsehood; it's only against the rules when you solicit the survivor for information or they help bodyblock their teammate instead of just ignoring them and going your separate ways. And if I'm sparing Zarina because I think she was a better looper or more of a team player than Dwight, I don't give a damn how Dwight feels about that - next time he can try being a better teammate. The number one reason I will choose to spare a particular survivor is because one of the last two is trying to do gens and the other is hiding waiting for them to die.
Like, it'd be one thing if you were just talking about snitches. Snitches are trash and deserve punitive action. But you're not - you hate memeing survivors, you hate killers having favorites. If it bothers you so much that the killer might be kind to someone who wasn't you, quit spectating and just move onto the next match. I cannot overstate enough how much this is a you problem and not a problem problem.
Wait, you don't have fun playing this game unless you work with survivors? Lol why are you here if you don't like the base game? According to you, "let me work with survivors or its a no fun allowed game"
You think it's okay for killers to work with survivors?

Dude! I normally have a modicum of sympathy and empathy for the other persons plight in this discussions here, even when I am in the opposing camp I can at least understand on an intellectual and conceptual level, what their problem is, but your problem right here, right now is so out there, so detached from normal human experience levels, that I can just smh and laugh in your face.
I sweat all month to get to Iri1, just so that I can relax and freely give hatch to the cutes survivor in the match in the last week. That small surrender t-bag, thats very distinct from the angry or gloating t-bag is so heartwarming, and nothing beats the fuzzies I get from searching for the hatch together. So you do you, but you should also work on your jealousy and envy management, as those make you wanna spoilt the fun for everyone else: "If I can't get it, no one should get it!".
Lets go one extra step: if killers don't seem to regularly let YOU escape and give YOU the hatch, what could you have been doing that tilted them during the match? Are you just a god at looping and never get caught? Some killers love to reward a good player with the hatch. But maybe you t-bag after every vault and palette drop, accentuated by a flashlight light show? Who knows, but peeps who do so get no hatch from me, thats for sure. Just saying ... so reflect on your own playstyle and think how that one might be ruining other players fun in the game, instead of lashing out to the only wholesome parts in this cesspool of toxicity.
Victim blaming. Projecting t-bagging behavior on me lol

Example of a game of mine. I maxed out Objectives, 10,000 is max.
I did 3 generators, 2 of them by myself. I didn't get any more credit for the rest of the gens I did because of cap limit of 10k. So yes, rest of team was running killer, but I was doing my job doing Generators. I also unhooked and healed people, with 5k Altruism.
Yet I was 3rd on the scoreboard score at end game. Here you come along and say I didn't do anything by looking at the scoreboard.

This is considered working with the killer. The killer and survivor are working in tandem to make the other survivors' game miserable and unwinnable. But allowing the last survivor, whom you have dead to rights, to go down the hatch is just a generous and often fun interaction between the two sides which is always lovely in a game that all but breaths toxicity. It literally cannot be called working with the killer because there are NO SURVIVORS to screw over, only the killer's leniency or desire to finish off the last guy.
I never go into a match expecting to get the hatch, but it's always a wonderful surprise when they do allow it for whatever reason. I literally got hatch last night because, and I quote "U R Mad thicc"
Of all the complaints to be made about dbd. Complaining about the last survivor getting hatch is a bit of a wet blanket move, and i don't see killers stopping anytime soon since it effects literally nothing except a few blood points.
The thread was inspired by the scenario he described. Working with killer. Playing favorites. This is why I'm saying kill everyone. Somehow this evolved into not letting anyone get hatched, but that wasn't the original premise of the thread. It's just a solution to avoid these issues. Kill everyonle

Shrugs
I calls it like I sees'em
If I'm wrong, so be it
So be it? I'm showing you that scoreboard is not indicative of team effort. There is a cap on how many points you can get for a category, like Objectives, and if you keep repairing generators after that, you don't get any credit for it, doesn't show up on scoreboard.
Someone can do a lot for the team, but if they take only 1 chase but do a bunch of gens and heals, their score won't be as high as the guy you chased all game (Boldness category). People who play the "hidey person" playstyle suffer from this problem.
How can you sit there and then say the hidey person did nothing and then play favorites. This is why you would frustrate people.
-
@tippy2k2 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3182217#Comment_3182217
I've talked about my "rules" for getting the hatch previously and while they're absolutely not bullet proof, I get a pretty good sense of who was useful during the game and who was the hidey person not doing a thing. I have let people go who, upon seeing the Scoreboard, I went "Whoops, that person didn't deserve that" but way more often than not, the person I choose to let go is easily on top of the leaderboard, even taking the 5,000 points away from me letting them go.
Or in some cases like the survivor I just let go right now, they asked nicely! The EGC started cause I shut the Hatch but they dropped their item and pointed at the gate. How could I refuse such a wonderful trade?!?!?
(He also was at the top of the leaderboard by 10,000 points, which I had a feeling would happen given that match and what I saw out of them)
You have no idea what was going on behind the scenes on survivor side. Scoreboard does not tell the whole story. Someone can do 2-3 gens (Objectives), unhook 2 people and heal 3-4 people (Altruism), but because they were very good at hiding from your patrols, they didn't take much chases and so they don't have 5k+ from Boldness category (killer chases).
So here you are, giving credit to the guy you chased, but not credit to the guy who did gens. Is the gen guy not a part of the team who did their job at generators??
According to you, the hidey person did nothing, because you didn't see their actions. And then you use the scoreboard to justify it, when scoreboard does not tell the whole story. You kill the hidey person because you didn't see them, except they did a lot, but you have no clue as to the full picture of what's going on survivor side.

I will reserve the right to kill who I please as killer. If I get bribed with a Flan of BPS then I'll go for the 8 hook tango and cap my BP categories if I dang well please.
That being said if I let you wiggle off my shoulder or slug you, please don't snitch. I want you to live and if you do something bannable I can't protect you from that. I agree working with the killer is bad. That qualifies as working with the killer. That is against the rules. I do not participate in this practice from either side. This specifically should be discouraged and possibly banned.
But correlating all of that to the "culture of letting people go" feels like a stretch to me. If your post was "Killers stop working with survivors just because you like them" I'd agree with you.
But no you're discouraging being a good sport, and expressing a nice gesture to the last survivor all because it's unfair to you.
You saw the video right, it happened a few days ago. More has happened since. And something similar just happened to me just now before making this thread, which inspired this thread. I don't see what is so crazy about asking Killers to simply .... be serial killers and massacre everyone.

Okay guys, what about this situation:
2 survivors die at 5/4/3 gens, it doesnt matter, the game is already lost for the survivors. So the killer "befriends" one of the 2 left and hunts the 4th one. The killer downs the 4th survivor and hook them, only for both the 3rd survivor and the killer farm the 4th survivor out until they are dead, and the killer let the other escape. Is this considered "working with the killer" and is it bannable?
PS: I has happened to me, I was the 4th
This is the exact scenario that inspired this thread. And it happens A LOT. I run Sprint Burst and I'm very good at looping, so I am usually one of the last 2 people to survive. This is why I want the team reading aura for dying survivors to be removed. It's used to cheat too much.

I'm not bullying you! I'm calling you out for lacking perspective. "Do your job" is such a silly thing to say when we're talking about a video game.
Ultimately I understand your perspective, and I can see that being frustrating. Particularly in cases where the survivor that got let go was trolling or not being helpful.
But you can't tell people how to play bud. That's just not cool. You're allowed to take the game seriously but you will inevitably end up in matches where some or all of the people you're playing with don't take it the way you do.
Plenty of killers never give survivors hatch. They can accommodate you.
It's also encouraging the snitching going on when a downed survivor uses the team reading aura and starts using body language to communicate to killer where the last guy is at. Survivors would never try this if killers are known for massacring everyone. But surv's know that so many killers will work with them and let them go.
Here is one example that happened to me the other day when I was playing after I got home. A toxic SWF refused to let me heal them (i have max 5 stacks on Autodidact), and sandwiched me in to troll me, because they know they could use the killer to kill me and let them escape. Because of this culture of letting people go.

If the killer uses one survivor to find another and then lets the first survivor escape, yes, that is against the rules.
If the killer chooses to kill one survivor but not another, that is not against the rules.
Does it suck when the killer lets the survivor who crouched around the edges of the map all match get a free escape? Yes, of course it does. Some days it seems like every survivor but me gets a free pass. Other days, I get three useless teammates who end up on the ground within 50 seconds, and I crouch and spin circles in front of the killer when they find me and they let me get the hatch. In the end there's probably a balance of about 25% where I get to be the lucky one, if there is a lucky one. Usually, the killer kills everyone.
What actually sucks is to be the one singled out by the other three survivors as the sacrificial lamb, served up to the killer and the only one to die. Being targeted by four people, including three "teammates," definitely feels worse than not being the one person who received a voluntary nicety from the opponent.
I'm only asking for killers to do their job and kill everyone. Stop this culture of playing favorites or letting people escape. It's encouraging snitching, it's encouraging toxic attitudes, it frustrates the other people who got killed... just kill everyone, do your job.

Lol no. There was a message during the loading screen for the anniversary masquerade that specifically has one staff member say that people who give the other side a break while dominating are awesome. If this was really breaking the rules they would never encourage this behaviour.
Besides with the amount of people I let go (basically everyone if I don’t need to pip and they don’t ask me to kill them) id have been banned ages ago. Many appreciate being let go. I’ll still try and 2 hook everyone, give them a challenge but ill ultimately let everyone leave.
Don’t work for the other side means if you are part of a team, you aren’t allowed to deliberately sabotage it. The killer letting some survivors go doesn’t matter because they are only hurting themselves. Showing mercy either by allowing the killer to kill you after everyone has escaped or the killer allowing survivors to escape isn’t what this means.
What about the other 3 you killed in the game? Do they appreciate it, don't think so. Would be much easier to just do your job
and Idc what BHVR says. Having heard enough of their ridiculous takes and stances, no wonder the game is in the current state it is in. They actually supported the idea of the survivors "betraying each other", which is hilarious when this is a team game that depends on everyone unhooking each other. Yeah, let's encourage NON team play at the same time. Sarcasm.

Idk I pay no mind to it. It happens what... once every 30 games if you're lucky? Either way I don't get how someone gets mentally touched because they died once from other players.
I play solo q. It happens the majortiy of my games. I wouldn't make this thread if it happened once every 30 games. Don't pretend like I'm exaggerating, it's frequent.

My only response to this is I don't care if it bothers you. I like doing it. It doesn't break game rules. I will not stop.
You're free to have your opinion about it but it doesn't make me a bad person for liking playing this way, and if you think otherwise then this discussion is over.
I wouldn't prefer to make people frustrated or upset, but I imagine most people aren't like you and probably don't care. I also don't enable griefers. If I see a survivor being a problem for their team I have no issue tunneling them out of the game. I don't work with survivors. I don't give people griefing their team hatch. I want everyone to have fun the same as you but I'm not going to play a specific way just because this one thing bothers you.
Killers can play how they want. People that lecture to them otherwise are wasting their time and acting entitled.
How does working with Surv's not break game rules? You're not supposed to do that.

I can't tell if this is some kind of elaborate bait or not.
If it's legit and not a bait, this is peak entitlement. "Why let the other guy go and not me? I'm special, so treat me like it 😭"
I let survivors go when I think they had a really hard game (e.g. they got stomped), or when I had a bonding moment with them and I decided to ignore them for the rest of the game so they can escape. Every now and again, there's someone like you in the endgame chat that has a freak-out that I was... nice to someone??? I'll never understand it.
Actually, I'm asking you to kill -all of us-. NO entitlement here. I'm asking you to stop playing favorites and working with surv's.

@Brimp said:
Sorry but I'll play how I want. I purchased the game I get to choose what I do that is within the TOS of the game.
Refusing to kill a survivor and working with them so they can escape, is not within the rules of the game. You're not supposed to work with survivors. You're actually breaking the rules.

Are sensibilities just made of tissue paper these days or is this a bait post?
Seriously of all the things to be triggered by... someone else getting to survive due to killer charity at endgame is not fair and needs to stop. 😂
Is this what happens when all the kids who threw themselves on the ground in a tantrum over not getting a new toy at the super market grow up and start playing games?
Is it the result of everybody gets a trophy day events so no one has to feel like they lost thus they never learned to cope with losing?
This community baffles me in how delicate it is over every perceived slight. When its such an adult genre, survival horror.
"I'm gonna play this violent game where you have to escape from some monster a la 1980's slashers flicks, but no one is allowed to kill me or stab me or make me feel like my fun is under threat, and everybody has to play fair!"
I had this neighbour when I was a kid who was always threatening to take their toys and go home if they didn't get their way, at some point you just gotta say ok go home then I'll see you later.
What you perceive as charity to one player, is in fact frustrating the other players whom you didn't give this charity. Playing favorites is wrong. Use whatever reasons you want to justify it in your mind, you are upsetting the other players by doing it. I find it interesting that your immediate response is to bully me by mocking me, "tissue paper sensibilities", to avoid the responsibility of you doing something that's upsetting others.

Jealous? :)
Jokes aside uh I don't think this is a good reason to not let the last go. When I'm feeling nice I let the last person get hatch. Yes sometimes I make sure that the person who is the last left is the one I "liked" for whatever reason. But it's not intended to make you feel bad. It's to be nice to that person. If you're seriously going to get jealous and call "no fair" when it could have easily been you that was picked as favorite then why play? No need to take things personally or all serious.
Now to be fair, yeah in your example teaming with the killer specifically is scummy. I don't let survivors team with me but sometimes they act a little "funny" as I'd vaguely describe it which I could see sometimes frustrating their teammates. To that I'd say if you wanna be picked, be a funny little man. The emoting T-bagging Bill gets hatch.
P.S. It's not toxic to not care about the other side's experience. It's toxic to deliberately try and make it worse.
or you could do your job and kill everyone, and not ruin people's experience by having them watch you play favorites. it doesn't feel good. use whatever reasoning you want, you are frustrating the other players and making them upset as to why you allowed that surv to escape. this is especially magnified when things went on during the match on survivor side, that you as killer have no clue about. say the one you "liked", refused to unhook, or sat in a crouched corner instead of doing a gen at a crucial time, and here you come and pull this. is it too much to ask to simply do your job and kill everyone.

Asking you to not make people feel bad by playing favorites... and just do your job... which is kill everyone.
"dont tell me how to play bro"
toxic

As long as there is no exploiting, cheating, or teaming going on, I don't see the problem with players playing how they want to as it simply is a part of the game. You can play with your own set of internal rules, but don't expect others to follow them.
You're lying. You know you are making the other people feel upset and frustrated that they were killed and you played favorites with 1 survivor.
You know this, don't pretend

If a survivor attempts to snitch on his partner, I'm going to make sure the snitch dies. Snitches end in ditches bro!!!
However, if you're asking that I don't ever allow anyone to escape (including the last person I absolutely have dead to rights), that's gonna be a big No Go. I have my own internal rules for when people are given the mercy escape and I have no intention of changing that, even if it makes the other survivors who I have killed and may be watching feel bad.
Do you have no sympathy for the other players... and you're promoting snitch culture. Just kill everyone, that's your job.

Glad to know that you are up-to-date with the changes. If you had bothered reading the perk description as I said, you would know there is no cooldown on the perk.
Again: please review the perk as it actually is before further commenting. This is embarrassing for you.
They nerfed the vault speed, they nerfed the ability to work through walls/objects, and it's an indirect buff to Ghostface and Pig and other stealth killers. Huge survivor/spinechill nerf.

You’re not listening, lol. Just read the full perk description - slowly - on the wiki.
Also, even old Spine Chill had the 36m range? What is this across the whole map you speak of?
I did read it. The old one was better. Its a nerf

Oh, you missed that they changed course on that. It now functions like Whispers but for survivors: if the killer is within 36m it lights up - regardless of the direction they’re facing or if undetectable.
So now stealth killers can’t counter it by looking away.
bruh, old Spinechill was more powerful. No killer is going to walk backwards towards Survivor's in random matches in the offchance you have Spinechill. Old Spinechill allowed you to know whenever Killer even looked in your direction from even behind objects.
The current spinechill is a gigantic nerf. Now it only notifies you when the killer ALREADY SEES YOU.
And as for the the terror radius notification..... is trash by comparison. It's already too late if the killer is that close anyway.

It's really not. Gens still pop solo in 50 seconds. The difference is survivors can walk in with no add-ons or perks and easily win now.
Want to know how I know you're a Killer main? When you say nonsense like that. Playing survivor sucks right now.

Spine Chill’s speed bonuses were nerfed (especially removing the vault speed bonus altogether); but its information aspect was buffed.
Nah it was nerfed. Old spinechill would light up whenever killer looked in your direction from even behind objects, it worked through walls/objects, so you knew when killer was coming to your location even though killer cannot see you yet (walls/objects). It was useful to know when killer was headed your direction. They thought it was too strong because had lots of time to hide.
Current spinechill doesn't work unless killer has clear line of sight... so basically, killer already sees you. Whats the point of the perk then, huge nerf.
Idc about terror radius notification, it's already too late by then.

I've never cared much for the "nobody wants to play X/Y, game so Y/X-sided!!!" bickering, but ever since the queue incentives went live I legitimately haven't seen anything but +100 survivor on my end (well, one time +50). It's honestly crazy to me that we basically have a constant double bloodpoint event for survivors (depending on region, time and MMR of course), and yet still not enough people are playing survivor for my killer queue times to dip under 5 minutes.
More than balance changes however, I think it's something to do with matchmaking. Randoms have always been terrible more often than not, but lately it's especially bad. I think we've either run into the same issue we've always had in the past and everyone and their mother has reached the matchmaking cap (red rank in the past, now max. MMR), or the algorithm has been changed to consistently pair low MMR survivors with high MMR survivors against high MMR killers. Going against killers with 3000+ hours that camp and tunnel at 5 gens and having "teammates" with 300-600h that die in 10-20 seconds and don't understand even the most fundamental of game concepts (such as "generator") is as common or even more common now than it had been in rank-based matchmaking. So I am not surprised that high MMR survivors don't feel like playing anymore. You basically need at least a 3-SWF now if you want to have a shot at being competitive with any reliability, duo is not enough anymore, even if you are great players.
Playing survivor is really bad right now. They nerfed everything. Even perks like Spinechill got ruined, I never use it now
