To be honest, I don't think the Krause "scamper" is unfair. Her vault time is 1.7s after the ptb, they nerfed it. Chucky's scamper was only 1.3s
yeah, but she can also do it without a cooldown and an attack that is VERY forgiving which also doesnt have a cooldown

Agreed, personally this is what I would of done:
-Stalk curve stays, the further away he is the faster stalk builds.
-Starts in Stalker mode and has to stalk to be able to "unlock" Pursuer. Then has to stalk further to be able to achieve Evil Incarnate
-Can switch between Stalker and Pursuer mode.
-While in Pursuer, once someone has a total of 25 seconds inside of your Terror Radius, gain Killer Instinct on them for a short time, after which their timer resets. Timer pauses when outside the Terror Radius or in another mode. A survivor revealed this way hear an audio stinger (current tier up imminent warning) you can run, but you cant hide
-Evil Incarnate is literally just tier 3. Everyone exposed but also keeps the little transition animation. Knife raised at head level also stays (he feels naked without it)
-New ability "Evils Grasp" (i know, great name) He reaches his arm out and on contact immediately grabs the survivor (counts as a pick up, similar to Springtraps grab but can be performed from further away). If the survivor is on death hook, the option to mori becomes available.
-Evils Grasp may cancel the transition into Evil Incarnate.
This keeps the identity of Myers that we all know and love and simply adds onto his pre existing kit. The idea as well to give a better visual for the grab, is he'd have a seperate animation while carrying them where itd be similar to Dracula and Xeno.
also give him a visual update, he desperately needs it

It technically was removed on release and he was never intended to have a flick like that
His initial release had basically no limit, the hotfix that followed limited him to 45 degrees, and then the one after that was 90 degrees which is how it stayed for years. Anything above that wasnt intended.
Personally I dont really care, on one hand it was a form of skill expression but on another it sort of left out console players

Yeah that's what I've always heard but no one ever explains why.
Personally I see Sprint Burst as being the worst but that's just my opinion.
Balanced is not great for the sole reason of being inconsistent since you cant guarantee youll get a map that benefits a lot from it. One game youll get Haddonfield with tones of things to drop off of and the next you can get Rotten Fields where you barely have anything.
Sprint Burst on the other hand has always been the best Exhaustion perk for its consistency and versatility. It can be used to safely do gens in dead zones and still get you to a safer tile, can be 99'd to be used in the middle of a chase, and is useful no matter what killer it is. Truly the perk of all time. Good ol' reliable

I still say Pig deserves a overhaul at this point. New model, new animations, new chase music and voice acting by Shawnee Smith (who has said several times she would love to do it).
Honestly BHVR needs to spent time upgrading a lot of the older characters (killers and survivors) to a more modern standard with better models and voice acting.
What I would like them to do though as well is do something like Overwatch where you still have access to the older default models. Wouldnt necessarily hurt and I think itd be pretty neat

Its just any action in this game or any game for that matter. Whoever has the best ping usually comes out on top when it comes to starting an action quicker.

But people need to use AI detection programs to discern what is AI gen'd and what isn't. So clearly humans as a whole are really bad at see "soul" or the computer can emulate it well enough that it doesn't matter.
Ultimately the absolute best AI work is made by professionals, real people who use this tool like any other tool to make their vision a reality faster.
That same AI tool also isnt perfect and can easily mistake something thats real and something that isnt.
To make it easier for you to understand the issue with AI art, its essentially like someone going into a game with cheats and claiming to be just as good as those who spent thousands of hours perfecting their skills. Theres nothing impressive about it, just a loser with a computer who doesnt want to put in the time to learn how to do something themselves.

You would call a tattoo artist a thief for using a style he didn't create American traditional or new school despite them learning those styles by completely copying people who came before them.
Christopher Paolini. The author of Eragon wrote that book at age 15. His book is about dragons and a coming of age story that if I'm gonna be honest is a blatant rip off of star wars yet it's popularity grow to even get adapted into movies.
People have no problem with " blatant theft" they have a problem with technology and fear of obsoletion.. no one is crying that every anime for the last 20 years uses all the exact same character art but a computer doing it?!? "It's a thief !! It's plagiarizing!! It can't do that!!!"
Because everything you just mentioned is all human and everything has a history of some sort of emotion or story behind it and there is no computer that can replicate that. Its soulless and defeats the purpose of what art is.

Since all perks are already unlocked in customs, making the game fully playable in customs by having Killer bots would effectively create a PVE mode.
A lot of people would just ditch pub lobbies to go stomp a Killer bot with perks they haven't purchased. No need for another player.
From a purely business pov, making custom games more attractive than SoloQ, not to mention likely reducing a tiny bit some DLC purchases (as people will be able to toy with the perks on their own and no longer get some characters for their perks) isn't a great move.
I personally would love it since it would give a great toxicity-free training grounds for new Survivors and would likely help fill the large holes in the "tutorial".
we all know that the amount of people who decide to go into a killer bot game willingly is gonna be minuscule at best

Lightborn and Mindbreaker
Lightborn because it makes the one interactive survivor item completely null and I firmly believe nothing should be a complete 100% counter. Id bring it back to its previous iteration where it took much longer to blind and you recovered faster from blindness. Still makes flashlights harder to use, but at least you can do something
Mindbreaker simply because of the blindness effect. All this does is screw over solo Q more than anything. The Exhaustion is the main reason why the majority of people use it, so simply keep that but remove the blindness.

Except the difference is that both Frank Stone and licensed characters (aside from half original ones like Ghostface), have an existing portrayal from outside the game, that DBD have to adapt into gameplay in a faithful manner. You don't have that with all the other unlicensed characters.
Also since you wanna bring up lore, Frank in his final form doesn't have access to his spectral form or any of the abilities that came with it and unlike The Entity with Doctor, Augustine manifested a version of Frank's essence that, while supernaturally changed visually, is still just nothing more than an M1 killer, just like he was in his human form. Unlike with Doctor, who was changed by The Entity, from his human form and into how he is now with a clear cut ability to go along with it.
Also those projections as you call them, isn't projections, but Frank in his spectral form teleporting around. Something he, again, wouldn't have access to in his final form, since he's pretty much reduced back into a "man with machete" in that form, which he became before being taken by The Entity.
Which is why, any power you give to him would, just like with Pyramid Head, be an entirely creative liberty for a character's power, that would be taken from outside the source material portrayal, and why exactly, you can't do that much with him without deviating from his portrayal in TCOFS.
Also just in general, i don't think Frank have anything unique enough going for him gameplay wise, that would justify making him his own Killer.
Correct me if Im wrong but it seems to me that you simply dont want him because they cant do a 1/1 portrayal of him in game, in which case none of the licensed killers are. I also cant recall anywhere in the game where it says he doesnt have access to said form in his final itteration. Even if he doesnt, I dont think many people would complain if he would have access to it in game since its still pretty faithful to the original material and we dont see him enough in his final form to know if he has any other abilities. I also see you bring up Pyramid Head a lot and I have yet to hear a single complaint of him being unfaithful in the 5+ years since he's been added into the game.
Also you thinking he isnt interesting enough is fair, thats your opinion. But you gotta admit that to set up an entire game around a character, even giving him an alias and probably one of the coolest designs only to make him a Trapper skin, is such a wasted opportunity for a chapter. Thats not even mentioning the survivors. Linda couldve been our first elderly female survivor.

Maybe with rehashed abilities, but not with being portrayed as an m1 killer, aside from maybe Pyramid Head & Ghostface.
Every other killer have been portrayed in their source material with clear cut aspects of their characters or clear cut abilities that made them stand out as being more than just that of an m1 killer.
Outside of what we've seen from Frank Stone in TCOFS, he doesn't really have any other additional and clear cut abilities that can be translated into a power. So any additional abilities outside of teleportation in spectral form would have be entirely creative liberties on bhvr's part.
I mean if were gonna go that route you can even say the same for the large majority of unlicensed killers.
Doctor wasnt going around shocking people the way he does in game and hitting them with a big stick. His old flavor text for his power was "Is it a gift, or a curse? The Entity has ignited a corrupted and inexhaustible spark in the Doctor's heart which allows him to generate electroconvulsive power at will". His story suggests that all he was before the Entity intervened, was a guy who liked to torture people with electricity.
Frank Stone has a foundation with projection like Doctor had with electricity, and it doesnt need to be a simple teleport. He could show projections of himself which gives off different effects or even project something else entirely, and it could be countered using a camera. (Maybe even something similar to a Unknown where he places these projections and he can take control of them for a short time, and this time could be cut even shorter when hit with a camera?)
There is so much more that could be done for him instead of just being "man with machete". He has his killer alias already being "The Champion" and they already have a full story fleshed out for him. Its such a waste to simply make him a Legendary.

I feel like they should have someone responsible for trying to maintain the game balance tho. Although, I wouldn't say there should be a full team. Just someone who actively coordinates playtests and reaches out to content creators/fog whisperers and potentially comp players. That way the game designers don't have to work this out themselves and can just work off what the 'balance manager' or whatever says. Just seems like a more efficient way to handle balance on a live service game.
Why have a singular person when they literally have an entire team of people? Its not like this one person would be able to speed up the process of balance (in fact it would probably just slow it down) because they would still only be able to fit so much in 1 patch.
With all that being said, the game designers are your balance team. They just have a different name.
-
@Smoe said:
Gonna play devil's advocate here, having Frank Stone in his final form as a legendary skin, doesn't really take anything away from his portrayal in TCOFS, as all we saw him as, was just being an m1 killer.
Hell, throughout the entire game, he's pretty much just an M1 killer, who we never see perform any kind of special ability.
Even his spectral form never did anything special outside of teleporting around and being vulnerable to the camera absorbing his essence when filming him with it. Even with just the teleporting around part for a power, it wouldn't be anything more than just rehashing existing elements from other killer powers.
You could argue the same for several licensed killers.

Your analogy is pretty poor, I could argue you are talking about the cosmetics team who have been amazing in dealing with the thousands of daily consumers. Why are people so negative in these forums? What do you mean by reinstated?? And how could you argue Im talking about the cosmetics team when there is literally no mention of such and you clearly understand what Im referring to.
Also disagreeing with you =/= negativity.

In my opinion your company needs to employ staff back into your balance team, handing that task over to game designers will cause further examples like the last PTB as their tasks will be numerous. It would save time in the long run for development of this game. I will be honest that you no longer have a balance team.
Asking for a "balance team" is essentially like asking a restaurant to have a dedicated team just to improve the menu. Even if they had such a team, that small group cannot possibly represent the thousands of daily consumers.

would you be able to move with this "grab" or would it work like shred? (since one dash/grab would be terrible bc of round loops)
Shred, but it wouldnt have wind up. Its just an instant dash forward with his arm out (maybe 6/6.5m/s for like 1.5/2s?) and it can animation cancel the transition they introduced to still keep his element of surprise and ambush potential. The grab can also interrupt anything, including pallet and windows vault while healthy. Could also make all of his actions 25% faster, including being stunned.
I know its not as strong as Slaughtering Strike, but thats why Im bringin back the insta down so he's still a threat at loops. The grab is meant to be a tool to close off that little bit of extra distance that a Survivor might have to make a pallet or window.
-
The whole idea that they had going on is not really an issue, its just the extended lunge is just.. lazy.
Personally what Id do is keep the insta down on Evil Incarnate mode, and have a small dash that is instead him moving forward with his arm out to grab a Survivor. If it connects then the Survivor is grabbed similar to Springtrap, and if they are on death hook it immediately transitions to a mori
In the end its still a dash but its A LOT more thematic

It's a rock and a hard place. If you face a majority of players that don't like playing against a Killer, the solution isn't to tell them they have to or to leave the game entirely. It isn't any more or less fair to tell the Killer player they're SOL. But that's a casualty of a system that prioritizes enjoyment and steering fatigue. I genuinely fail to see how it's worse than what we're currently dealing with, other than it gives all players more autonomy.
The thing is all is takes is 1 person to press that disconnect and they spoil the game not just for the killer, but the other survivors as well. If dcing had no penalty then youd see it practically every game since there is literally nothing stopping them, and we all know how petty people can be.
Some times removing player agency and freedom is the way to go about things. This is without a doubt one of those things.

That argument makes no sense to me. It's a double-standard when there are so many elements of the game that ruin the experience for others that go unchecked. The only difference is that you are taking the steps to remove yourself versus feeling cornered by another player.
You are asking for a system that is easily abusable.
"oh I dont like this map, dc"
"oh i dont like this killer, dc"
"oh my hex got cleansed, dc"
As a P100 Trickster I know he's a killer that isnt generally liked. Does that mean I deserve to play against bots all the time? Its literally every second or third game I get a DC and it would be even worst without a penalty.

Listen… I've said it before and I'll say it again. Making DCs less punishing would be good for the game. If it's clear that players queue up and then suffer, why not give easier means to alleviating that suffering (without booting everyone out of the game) than enforcing that they stay because they signed an invisible contract to dedicate their all to each and every trial? It makes no sense (in my opinion).
Because you are then ruining the game for the other 4 people who were expecting to play the game normally.
DCing should never be encourged. If youre not having fun, log off instead of "suffering" every game you play.

I didn't say that they needed to make the 1.0 patch a true 1:1, did I?
Of course a classic mode could be a true 1:1, but hopefully, some thoughts and QoL would need to be put in for it to be a better experience. The thing is there is so much that would need to be changed to make it a more enjoyable experience and at that point it aint even dbd classic
The whole reason why I suggested 1.9.3 or 2.0.0 is because those are the closest patches that have the essence of old dbd while still being somewhat balanced.

Or they could do a historical approach like Overwatch did with their classic mode.
Started at version 1.0, and then went through the most beloved patches.Absolutely not lol
-20 second cooldown (yes cooldown, exhaustion wasnt a thing yet) Sprint Burst
-True facecamping
-Perma sabo hooks
-Perma sabo traps (and also taking 3 business days to set down only to be screwed over by several perks and items)
-We'll Make It stacking with it self and applying to personal healing as well. Pair it up with Botany and Self Care and you were able to heal yourself before the killer had time to finish the blade wipe animation
-60 second gens and no way to slow them down. There were no gen regression perks at the time, unless you count Unnerving Presence which only made skill checks a measly 15% smaller. Gen kicking also wasnt in the game yet.
-Traps under hooks
-True infinites due to no entity blockers or bloodlust
-Insta gen complete with BNP
-Insta heals
-Insta blinds
And thats all I can think of at the moment. Now you might say "oh well just remove all of these!"
But at that point, its not dbd classic is it?

I think theres large misconception that it has to be one or the other. Just because it isnt a competitive title, doesnt mean its a party game. Its sort of... its own thing.
MMR, (usually something used in more competitive games) is simply used to make matchmaking better to have a more enjoyable experience on average. While its controversial and a lot of people like the say it doesnt work at all, I myself notice a MAJOR difference when playing 2v8 or Chaos Shuffle, where we know MMR is disabled.
Now Im not saying its a perfect system, far from it. Its great that it isnt since otherwise high level players would literally never get a break, but its still better than nothing. (and I say that very loosely) Hopefully there will be noticeable improvements when they get to it as mentioned on the road map.

oh i remember when ghostface originally dropped he was really bad
I guess the joke wasnt very clear, but Ghost Face wasnt released in this patch. Its just they accidently released the dev build which had a prototype version of him lol
But yeah I will always say PTB Ghost Face was the worst killer in the game. Extremely sensitive reveal which you only needed to look at him for .5 second anywhere on your screen. He made a mapwide audio cue when entering and exiting stealth, cooldown was 30 seconds, stalk built up slower, marked only lasted 20 seconds, Undetectable wasnt a thing so his aura could still be revealed, and finally he had a sort of "lullaby" which sounded like distorted sirens. (hot take, they should bring it back but reduce the range and how loud it is)

Yeah there were A LOT of busted things back then, but you cant really do a classic dbd without em.
