Sounds like an unlucky string of games
Also its not exclusive to DbD, it happens in every multiplayer game.

It really is map dependent at this point. The recent maps combined with their collision changes aimed at wesker has made even MacMillan unreliable collision. Borgo is all but supremely unplayable on large portions of the map. Most maps have fine collision for the most part though.
Yeah and that I agree with, but thats not something exclusive to Blight. All killers have maps that don't particularly favor them. I also don't believe a killer should have the ability to deal with basically any loop in the game, especially when that same ability can be used to shorten the distance in seconds after the Survivor leaves the loop

I myself call it Mettle of Meg haha

We are quite a small team with a lot on our plates; thanks for checking in about it! We will update as soon as we can.
Thank you for the reply <3
I myself plan dont plan on changing pfp's, but I do know its something a lot of others on the forums have been waiting for
Once again, thank you <3

Underrated in my humble opinion: Mettle of Man, Resurgence for survivors. For killers, I'm surprised I don't see more No Way Out love!
Glad to see another MoM enjoyer :)

I’m a man of statistics and facts. And as of the last posted facts, blight is slightly under performing everywhere other than top mmr. You can call him busted all you want, but stats don’t lie. I’m not saying he needs buffs, but he is not “insanely busted”.
When you look at stats you cant just take the numbers as is. Something can very much be busted while also needing a bit of practice to be done right, which is exactly the boat that Blight is in.

Collision is absolutely horrible on many maps. What exactly am I reaching for?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3441417#Comment_3441417
I literally gave you a drawback. Mistakes on blight are punishing. Spirit and nurse can both use their powers at every single loop / tile in the game on any map. The same cannot be said about blight.
A LARGE majority of loops Blight can use his power, some are just harder than others
-
@HugTechLover said:

forgiving and zero draw backs? Now that is false. His power solely relies on collision. Collision in this game is not guaranteed or constant. It’s changed so many times with updates. You go for a rush and slide, leading to fatigue, and the survivor makes massive distance. Maps like red forest, GOJ, swamp, and now the autohaven maps that were murdered with garbage updates, render his power useless on a good portion of the map.
Forgiving doesnt mean bad map interactions, it means how badly hes affected by a mistake
0 Drawbacks also doesnt mean bad map interactions, (which btw, arent intended) it means having a downside for such a big upside such as Spirit or Nurse having a slower movement speed for having such a strong power
-
I am so glad Im not the only one who thought that initially
-
@Xernoton said:
The problem with Blight is his versatility. He has EVERYTHING. A chase power, mobility, the ability to correct mistakes, low cooldowns, an ability to quickly get rid of pallets, crazy good synergy with popular perks and strong addons. What more could a killer wish for?
Even if you can't hit the survivor using your rushes you are still a 115% movement speed killer. This means you can still play M1 killer and mind game or chase normally when all else fails. Obviously, this is not going to be enough against top tier survivors but you shouldn't win against them, if you're not a top tier killer yourself.
Couldnt of said it better myself. Well said

I just noticed something weird I never noticed before. IDK if this always happened or if its a bug or possibly a new thing?
I was the last person to not escape and was waiting inside the exit gate. Despite popular belief I do this to be nice. I will let them shut the hatch or break pallets then come hit me.
The other 3 had escaped. I noticed one of their names suddenly flash in a bright white than is default. What does that mean? I thought maybe it means spectating?
Normally means something changed with their current state
Its actually a good way of knowing if you applied Condemned as Sadako despite them already being Condemned

Stupid how? He has the highest skill ceiling of any killer. If you can’t use his rushes successfully, it punishes you more than it helps. Baby blights get bullied all the time.
Doesnt matter if he has a high skill ceiling. When people talk about Nurse they dont talk about beginners or amateurs. (And dont worry, I think shes a problem as well)
The problem lies in his power being VERY versatile and forgiving and having quite literally 0 drawbacks. Thats not even taking into account add ons.

Long recharges are miserable on any killer. Nobody likes having to play m1 for 20+ seconds. 10-15 seconds should be the max recharge time. Part of the reason I don’t care to play spirit much.
And its also miserable to play against on smaller maps
There needs to be SOME sort of limit. The fact that he can bounce around the map faster than any killer all while having a shorter charge time at literally 0 cost is pretty stupid

Not all, but the vast majority hated the last 2 chapters.
And that was mainly because of the meta at that time
Knight was (and still is pretty decent) probably the best 3 gen killer when released. When paired up with CoB, Overchage and Eruption it made him infuriating to go against. Then Skull Merchant came out and sure Eruption was gone, but CoB and Overcharge remained. Her playstyle also being more territorial made her also pair up very well with the gen kick perks which kind of overshadowed Knight.
Nowadays, Knight isnt really complained about anymore and Merchant complaints also died down quite a bit since the gen kick meta was gutted.
Its like how Freddy when he initially had his rework was hated because of how well he synergized with the meta at that time. Perks are a BIG factor
-
Thing is I dont think he has any business having a recharge as fast as he does considering how insane his mobility and lethality is.

If the three other people were all perpetually on separate gens for two minutes straight, I wasn't running Deadlock, and the survivor times the self-unhook properly, maybe.
In reality, Meg was looting a chest, David was crouching in the grass ten meters away waiting for me to go away so he can get his daily, and Claudette gets off her gen as soon as she realizes I was tunneling and tries to bodyblock me.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3433389#Comment_3433389
Hence why I said that I could just pretend to go away for five seconds. If they fall for it just once, that makes up all the other time you might waste chasing them around the hook.
Did this make it into the PTB?
Which would of just ended up with the Survivor on hook dead anyway???
The only difference here is at least the Survivor has the chance to initiate chase once again which in most cases if the Survivor has half a brain can waste more time than if they were just to sit on the hook

I mean I completely agree with you and I do the same thing I never go into a match without lightborn because there's almost always at least one flashbang, I just don't like the fact that there is something so strong out there that a hard counter is required to exist, and that it's so common that it's practically required to run that hard counter to have a fun game.
Flashlights are the weakest item in the game because unlike other items, they require direct interaction with the killer (which wastes time) and dont guarantee you value.
There are so many things you can do such at look at a wall (when picking some one up), look up, down or to the side when some one is blinding you, and several perks and even add ons that activate when blinded
The only reason they are popular is because as said before, theyre the only item that requires an interaction from the other side to get use out of it, which is what people mainly play multiplayer games for
-
Your light will forever be the brightest one to shine over this community.
Thank you Max, for everything.
-
Yknow people keep saying this but it can be disproved SO easily with what we got for Fall of 2022.
Project W's midchapter didn't nec have much content. Even if we just received probably one of the most well received chapters in DbD's history, people were already expressing their concerns about the lack of content in the upcoming mid chapter since we knew from the get go the Finisher Mori wasnt going to make it to live in its current itteration.
Then came Forged in Fog which was a pretty poorly received chapter (still is) and it came with literally nothing else. Barely anybody played The Knight due to how buggy he was and he just didnt have a playstyle many enjoyed.
There was a "content drought" for the large majority of the playerbase for roughly 3 months. For most, that was enough to rile them up.
-
Or you could just make it so when a Survivor is locked on it just puts a Clawtrap on them instead of exposing them
Could also buff her stealth to activate faster and last longer
-
I always drop chases, its just the way I play. That being said, I know I will down a Survivor eventually if I keep at it.
If I genuinely cant catch a Survivor its because I am making A LOT of mistakes.

The Legacy background portrait was given to people who reached Prestige 3 (which was the highest prestige) with a character before patch 6.1.0 which was the progression overhaul update that we have today.
It is no longer obtainable today

Sounds great! I'll be eagerly awaiting the massive buffs they need to do for nurse. BHVR balances around a 60% kill rate. You can disagree with that, and think it should be 50%, but they landed on 60% for a reason. So if that is their balance point, lets look at the stats for average players.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2JJNY2N6FCQS/image.png
Oh look, nurse is by far the worst killer in the game. And look how much higher trapper is than her!
So which buffs do you think nurse should get to bring her more in line with some of the more crazy powerhouses like sadako?
Yeah, just COMPLETELY disregard EVERYTHING I said in my post 👍
-
See @MikaelaWantsYourBoon's response
Quite literally the exact same thing I was about to say
-
@Reinami said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/377020/nurse
Do you think this game should be balanced around:
- Top tier players (top 200 players)
- High level players (top 1-2% of players)
- Average players (the majority of players)
- Low level players (bottom 10-20%)
Should be balanced around everyone, and BHVR knows this
A great example of that is a buff Nemesis received a while back which made him faster while holding his tentacle in tier 3. Those at a lower level wouldnt necessarily reach tier 3 all that often, but those at the higher levels would. So what they did is made a change that would only have an effect on higher level players while having little effect to lower level players.
How this could be applied to The Nurse Im not sure, but BHVR is usually pretty creative with these kinds of things. Unfortunately since she was already changed not too long ago, I dont think shes gonna be looked at any time soon

You saying Knight is strong? LOL you can land the orb thing almost directly on top of a survivor and have it not activate on them. Then when it does they just outrun it 75% of the time anyways. Like it needs some built in function to avoid downs at all? That is so silly. You have INSTADOWN killers but knight who has to work for the hits has the silly built in make survivors immune to his own attacks feature? Horrible function.
His guards arent necessarily meant to get a hit every time, the only one that should reliably be getting hits is Assassin.
The rest are basically meant to zone (Jailer) or waste time (Carnifex)
The flag they leave behind is to actually capitalize on The Knights mistakes and to actually make an outplay rewarding instead of just putting the Survivor into a lose/lose situation. (which is already the case like 90% of the time)
As some one who plays Knight pretty often, a Survivor who reaches the flag mid chase is usually because they outplayed me or I just made a blunder.

Yes, obviously. You also do know that Iron Grasp exists right? And that for face-camping killers it doesn't matter whether you go down near basement or a million miles away from it.
We arent 2016 where it takes 50 years to wiggle with Iron Grasp
It just adds an extra 2 seconds

If a 99% rooster can beat a good SWF..
What is a 100% rooster capable of!?
-
bruh we seriously complaining about flashlights again?
-
Depends.
Oni's old chase theme is what made me play him, one of my favorite themes ever added and it still frustrates me to this day that they havent fixed it (Its been almost 3 years now)
Other than that, its not a deciding factor for me playing a killer. If they have a cool theme (Like Dredge) then I wont complain

Plaything makes Survivors Oblivious which completely silences the terror radius

Almost like matchmaking should be good. But no, instead we have this trash one where matchmaking for MMR purposes caps at 1600, meaning a real 1600 player could go against a 2.2k player.
That's what happens when you have broken things on either side that people relied WAY too heavily on
-
@Reinami said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3434681#Comment_3434681
Problem is, killer doesn't know if the match is going to be chill. You HAVE to play like that from the get go, because if you don't and they are one of those SWF kill squads, by the time you realize that, its too late and you lost.
Same can be said for Survivors
-
@JPLongstreet said:
The locked in animation thing is often funny with the latency of this game. What goes on that you see on your tv is not what a surv sees, and that goes both ways. Those add-ons prolly aggravated the problem as well.
It's also why a surv will be done vaulting a window, take two or three steps away in their view, and still be smacked by a lunging killer. While the killer sees the surv half way through the vaulting animation and look much closer to them in their view.
The add ons wouldnt of contributed at all since there aint any add ons that affect blind speed anymore

@Reinami said:

Say that to killers who get matched against SWF kill squads running hyperfocus, commodius, and send you to garden of joy. 10 seconds isn't going to do a damn thing, when survivors literally just doing nothing but holding shift + w, no pallets, no windows, no looping, no anything, take 55 seconds to down and hook. Now do it 12 times lol
I mean the killer equivalent to that is like a Blight bringing Alch Ring, Compound 33 or Crow with a slowdown build against a casual/Solo Q team. The other side is basically meant to lose unless they bring things of equal caliber
Its why I believe add ons should be a factor in matchmaking. You wanna bring Ultra Rares? Sure! But be prepared to go against them

No, the point of facecamping STBFL isn't "getting more stacks", it's getting the kill. No, they're not just going to stand there and die; that's the entire point of running the perk. Alternatively, you could just count to ten, but tunneling through basekit BT is the way I do it.
If it takes two minutes for a survivor to die if nobody comes for the save, then I'm assuming the rate at which a survivor is able to unhook themselves is significantly faster than that to make it worth it.
Assuming you can chew through their Endurance and down them fairly quickly (run Agitation to hook them in a pallet deadzone and Bamboozle the nearest window before they self-unhook), you can probably get that same kill in two minutes or less, and even in some strange alternate universe where the three other people were all on different gens at the same time, it's now a 3v1 with two gens left, and you have Bamboozle and a fully stacked STBFL.
This is all contingent on how quickly the survivor can unhook themselves after being facecamped, but I think it sounds like "reverse logic" to hand to me the exact thing I was already doing by proxy camping, except faster, and then call it a nerf to facecamping.
If survivors can unhook themselves quickly, I'm going to get a lot out of facecamping from now on. I no longer have to wait for someone else to come for the save; it happens on its own and faster than it did before.
I still don't understand how having 3 Survivors have the option to remain on gens while you now need to take more time to kill a single Survivor by face camping because you have STBFL and Bam is a positive for this playstyle. But if you think so, then you do you king
-
@hailxsatanxeveryxday said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3432954#Comment_3432954
Explain how or concede the point.
I'm asking a question here. What's to keep me from facecamping a hook until the timer fills up, pretending to leave for five seconds, and then tunneling them right back onto the hook with STBFL, killing them as fast as or faster than if someone had come for the unhook?
If you don't have an answer, I can accept that, but if you have some insight into this I don't, please do elaborate.
I mean it just seems like reverse logic no???
If the Survivors wouldnt have gone for the save, that Survivor would have died in 2 minutes. If they did, chances are the best outcome would of been a trade
Now if the Survivors dont go for the save, the Survivor on hook can just free themselves while the other 3 are free to do gens. Sure you may get 1 or 2 more STBFL stacks, but do you really value that more than an entire kill?
Youre also making it sound like the moment the Survivor free's themselves that theyre just going to stand there and let themselves die.
So I may not have an answer no, but thats because this logic of yours just doesnt make any sense whatsoever. This is the best I could make of it.
-
@hailxsatanxeveryxday said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3432317#Comment_3432317
I guess it depends on how quickly survivors can unhook themselves. If I'm "busy at the hook" for under a minute until the bar fills up, and nobody's running Kindred and/or it isn't an SWF on coms, which means one ore more are at least going to get off gens to check and waste time, especially if they assume faceamping is dead and that they'll get a rescue for sure, then that's a survivor dead in ~3 minutes.
The other survivors had better have been very productive in the meantime, or they're dead, too.
EDIT: And you just know that, every other game, two people are going to throw themselves at the hook and/or try and fail to bodyblock once said survivor has unhooked themselves.
This will also turn Reassurance into a griefing perk.
I'm sorry, but logic is so absurd and makes absolutely 0 sense.
