Meg is the only one of the original four who doesn't have a blighted cosmetic, isn't she? They should give her one.
Yeah she is. Would love a victorian style cosmetic for her

Pustula Petals were used in 3 Events, Hallowed Blight, Withering Blight, and Eternal Blight
The Hallowed Blight was the 2018 Halloween Event and it was the very first time we had event currency being Putrid Serum. This serum was obtained in game by going to Visceral Cankers as a Survivor and harvesting nectar from them to fill your Vial, which was at the top right of your screen. This Vial had 3 sections and they acted as "checkpoints", so if you died you wouldnt all of it. Killers simply needed to hook Survivors on Blighted Hooks, which gave them half of a checkpoint. Once you obtained 10 Putrid Serum, you could buy 1 piece of any of the Hallowed Blight cosmetics, up to a maximum of 6. It also had lore tied to it outside of base lore from killers/survivors. It followed this mysterious figure who experimented with the serum and we got a new log from him every day of the Event on his progress, as well as a few cutscenes (This was the precursor to the Archives). The community named him 'The Alchemist', and this character would eventually become The Blight. This in my opinion was the best event in DbD's history, and so far the only thing that has come close is the recent Haunted by Daylight Event.
The Withering Blight (2019) was probably the worst Event in DbD history as it didnt introduce anything. Pustula Petals made a return, only to give bonus BP when repairing specific gens or hooking a Survivor on specific hooks. The reason why it didnt receive as much backlash was because The Archives and Rift were introduced in the same patch which gave us more lore and Putrid Serum to give us another chance to buy cosmetics from the Hallowed Blight collection, as well as the newly introduced Withering Blight collection.
The Eternal Blight (2020) was the most poorly received Event in DbD's history and understandably so. It did introduce the Event add ons (Broken Bulb, Refined Serum, Blight Serum) which to me is what seperates it from the Withering Blight, but at the end of the day it was still just a glorified bloodpoint event. At the time we were getting VERY lackluster events and everyone was hoping that the Halloween Event (one of the most important events of the year) was going to change that. Worst of all? There was 0 way to obtain the new/old Blighted cosmetics. This caused the devs to do immediate damage control by making each piece 3k Iri Shards, and give out codes for Iri Shards as the Event went on.
The Midnight Grove introduced the Cursed Seed and it is currently the only event to use it. This was the event that introduced kicking pumpkins, as well as event tomes. It wasnt much, but it was a well appreciated event.

Unfortunately it would be out of the scope for a modifier. I think we'd all love to have him be playable in Lights Out, but with modifiers only being available for a limited time, we need to be mindful of the time we spend on them since those resources could be put into updates elsewhere in the game which would be available year-round.
Ok but what is the reason to making it only limited time?
-
Deathgarden
The game had an amazing concept and theme and showed lots of potential. Unfortunately there just wasnt enough support behind it and the game was left abandoned.
If the game were to get re-released today with current knowledge the devs have on a 4v1 game, I believe it would stand its ground much better than it did.

So I have to keep playing knowing that the killer can just see me in the lobby and choose to grief me? Is that meant to be a fun experience? I'm autistic. Knowing that a killer can find me and bully me is not fun. It's stressful. Why can't I see the killer's name before the match, that way I can simply leave to avoid them?
The chances you go up against some one who actually has an issue with you (for what ever reason) multiple times in a row is VERY low even if they tried.
And even then if you're really worried about it, you can put yourself in anon mode
-
Not much you can do, but I wouldn't count it as a loss.
For me personally if a killer sticks chase and I manage to hold them out long enough that my team is able to escape, I dont care whether I live or die. I had a fun chase, and my actions were the reason that my team was able to make it out.

In a world with 0 perks, survivors win every time. Unless you are talking about the "average" solo queue survivor experience. There really isn't any debate on this. At the highest levels, there are a reason every tournament has special rules and scoring systems and handicaps in place (against the survivors) because without them survivors win with 3-4 escapes every game.
Yeah theres also several restrictions for killers as well, and Survivors in tournaments arent going against average pub killers. Theyre going against people of the exact same caliber and its not uncommon for killers to snowball like crazy.

You can plug in a controller and the moment you touch it the game switches over, no need to go into the settings
Remember spooking the hell out of a streamer while running some sort of Undetectable perk on Blight and just using his goofy ass walk to turn a corner.
Not many people know that a lot of killers released after Blight has an animation specifically made for slow walking. I think its a nice little detail

Not always. Most times all I did was chase everyone fairly. The Survivor Handbook. Instead of just eliminating all the bad runners first. Those bad runners slammed the gens, and everyone left.
This happens unless you pick killers that can defend their objectives remotely as they chase someone… Like Skull, or Knight. The survivors that aren’t being chased will always do the objective.
Chasing everyone "fairly" isnt just going "hurr durr follow survivor until down". Its all about splitting pressure, and a big part of it is knowing when to drop chase to go after some one else. Doing so might result in camping or tunneling some one, but you dont just go "oh 3 gens popped? time to tunnel/camp!" Its just something that happens. Something like "oh Jake just got unhooked and I just so happen to see him running into a deadzone? Better him than Meg whos fully healthy going to shack on bottom side which has no gens completed"
Its an opportunity that opens up to create a gradual snowball effect. Doing so straight from the get go and having some one dead while only 2 or 3 gens are done tells you that you would of most likely won that game anyway. And if you manage to pull that off against a good team of Survivors, now you have a 3v1 with 2 gens remaining and a map full of resources.
Its really only a strategy that works against lower level Survivors or Solo Q. A group of good Survivors wont fall for it.
-
Those who say they liked versing Hillbilly are from what I can tell have no to little experience playing in the era where he was at his peak. Problem is he was never this glorified killer as everyone made/make him out to be. If anything he was seen VERY similarly as modern day Blight. It wasn't for nothing he was contesting Spirit for N.2, and were talking old Spirit here.
I can see Blight getting a similar reaction whenever he gets his basekit looked at.

there is still tons of stuff for Maps and Survivors
The first would to finish the survivors, Nancy Steve, Ash, Jeff, Jane, and Zarina's face needs some work whether it be some texture changes or a whole remodel is up to BHVR but these are the last survivors that needs a face rework
Survivors do not have any outfits updated, so Dwight still has outfits with the old watercolor effect they had when the game first came out, Also many of the hairs can be updated to the same quality they seem to have now. other than just looks, animations could also be updated with new healing and cleansing/blessing totem animations
Looking at the first updated maps Yamaoka and NOES they are just as outdated compared to Haddonfield and other newer maps, I'm not saying that they should start the cycle again but as time goes on the problem that made them do the realm beyond will come back. also they could do smaller visual tweaks to maps to fix them like changing Borgo's realm lighting so it's not rough on the eyes (That map uses complementary colors everywhere so the whole maps clashes and is hard on the eyes)

This is more of a wishlist but add more depth to the game, out of all the Slasher games out there this is the game that Visually feels the most Dull which sucks as this IS the best one out there, I mean just look at the screenshots at other games and it has a wider range of colors, the sky box is not a 480p screenshot, ect.
Jane already got her facelift alongside the others and Zarina looks just fine imo. The others you mentioned tho yeah, they could use an update.
Expecting them to revisit EVERY outfit in the game is just unrealistic unfortunately I doubt its happening any time soon.
Never realized how Badham and Yamaoka look in comparison to the others until now. Wouldnt be opposed to see changes there either.

Survivors from the looks of it are all up to date. Every realm from Hawkins onwards was significantly higher quality than the rest and the other realms needed a catch up. Now all thats left is the Swamp
As for Survivors, when Resident Evil came out they reworked a bunch of the models up to Yui with the exception of Steve, Nancy, and Ash.
And then killers they 100% need to catch up on. All of them so far have been fantastic by still keeping true to their character but making them much more detailed.

Dead Hard can still be decent, but it is nowhere near as powerful as it was (which is a good thing). No Mither is an optional hard mode, so it was always meant to be a bad perk. And WGLF is useless without its bloodpoint gains.
WGLF is actually very strong but was 100% power crept by Buckle Up which makes it seem dog in comparison.

I think it is more of combination of, matchmaking is horrible, and time of day/region.
For example, i live on the west coast of U.S. if i play around 7 pm - 2 am, i will win probably 95% of my games as killer, easily, going against these, what i call, "normal" survivors.
But i i play during say, the morning, or my lunch break, around 8 am - 12 pm? I get these crazy good top tier godly survivors where there is no weak link. Even if they play solo queue, they just are hella efficient and i lose 3 gens in the first chase basically guaranteed. Or, i break chase and then i lose the 3 gens slightly slower, but i end up with no hooks.
Basically the same case here over on the east coast of Canada but its not that different. On the off chance that I can play during the day I do get decent Survivors on average, but with a few very experienced ones sprinkled in. During evening/nights when I usually play I get the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Either really experienced Survivors in a coordinated group (which is not often, probably like one out of 5ish games) or people I have no business being matched with (Survivors with hours that don't even reach quad digits)
-
@WaveyTrey said:
It’s a lot to read, but here is my take…
You’re beginning to catch on to something... The only reason those streamer killers win so much without using slowdowns and tunnel/proxy camp is because…
A.) They lower their MMR when they aren’t streaming. So they match with players less experienced…
B.) They have the ability to matchmake with who they want somehow. They’ll add a few random matchmake. Then if someone truly competitive enters they dodge the lobbies. As they’ll get demolished on live. You’ll see in their lobbies the players will say “I was X survivor”.
Remember, they’re sponsoring/advertising the game. So you think that the steamers wouldn’t get any perks, or privileges from doing that?
I began to think this only because I’ve watched them play. Yes. I’m not a top tier player. With just over 2k hours. The truth being I learned A LOT just from watching the “best” players like Tru3 and Tofu; However, as I began to watch them CLOSELY…
The way that survivors play against them was never my experience after 2k hours. Against these streamer killers the survivors often make the dumbest plays. They don’t spin, or do anything to make the attacks miss. Survivors run in straight lines, not from pallet to pallet. They don’t abuse second chance perks. They fail the flashlight even when it was easy.
I’ve also seen all these big streamers chase a single survivor for over a minute many times. Whenever they did not a single generator would pop. They also take their sweet time to pickup, and hook. All while explaining something to the viewers.
If their hours and their MMR is as high as they claim… Situations like that shouldn’t happen so often... Everything the players do should be executed perfectly. A single mess up would cost the match. After 2k if I fail to execute, or did something haphazardly at least 3 survivors will escape.
Every time I chase a single survivor the rest will immediately double up on heals or gens. I repeat, only after 2k hours. The survivors are often well coordinated, and prepared. With or without comms. So I can only imagine 4k, 6k, 8k, 10k hours!!
I realized the best strategy is finding who is the weakest runner, and eliminating that player immediately before 3 generators are done. Even if it means tunneling them out. Once the players are reduced to 3 I don’t have to do anything “dirty” anymore.
Why? If 2 gens remain and there are 4 survivors alive I lose. Almost 100% of the time.
So I ask you all to watch them CLOSELY. There’s a reason viewers scream “PAID ACTORS!!”. It’s because sometimes it’s true!
Or... hear me out
Matchmaking is and always has been dog. No streamer is going to spend hours of their time afking off stream just to lower a number they cant see. Most of my games are 3-4ks even when I do play with the most random builds, and upon looking at peoples profiles a lot of them don't even reach 1k hours, while I myself have over 6k.
The strategy you mentioned is nothing new and is a perfect ideal scenario which only really works against inexperienced groups since, again, its a perfect scenario.
2 gens remaining and all 4 of them being alive is what happens a large majority of the time. Just because they're all alive doesn't mean you haven't depleted their resources and have gotten hooks in between. If you haven't done either, then you kind of deserve to lose at that point since a bunch of mistakes have brought you to that point.
-
Thing is what do you define as "winning consistently"?
-
Only time I dodge is if I see a steam player with Legacy/Code Exclusives who clearly didnt get it legitimately when looking at their profile.
Either that or I get the sudden urge to go to the bathroom
-
Ehhh not really a fan tbh
I dont think Ive seen a single game pull off a "just make everything faster", and since this doesnt offer any other unique twist I dont see it being anything other than the rest of them
-

I guess that addon now will be a common thing used in his build given his update. I remember a time when pallets meant something and could actually stop a killer in chase for a moment. Now it feels like every other killer has a way to hit you despite the pallet drop.
LoPro Chains + Doom Engravings was always his best add on combo since his rework back in 2020, (not counting this rework released just now)
Surprised youve never seen it until now

It'll be nice for me, i'll actually be able to play out matches and go for chases instead of hard tunneling out a weak link as the only viable way to slow gens down.
Though personally i'll be dropping pain res for that for nowhere to hide.
Then when they inevitably nerf the DMS/GE combo, i'll swap to GE/Deadlock.

Didn't say anything about wanting to be a comp team, not sure where you got that from my reply. Presumably when people want to play in a swf, and you offer yourself up to be part of their swf, then you need to ensure you're available to play at the same time as everyone else. I am a stay at home mum whose kids dictate when I can and can't play.

I dont know about that, maybe my headphones are super good or my ears work very well, but i can tell pretty much always where she is during phase. That does not mean i can react always in time - it depends on which situation you are in.
Nevertheless, Spirit is still strong but compared to the old Spirit, she has a lot more counter play then she used to have (which was Spine Chill and a good connection to the Luck gods). In the past it was more of a guessing game for the survivor and even that would not really help to much.
And thats exactly it. Sure you may know where she is, but even then you cant react to it most of the time.
Spirit is basically just as strong as she was prior to the change. What they did was just make her a lot less frustrating to go against since she gives feedback on what shes doing, whereas before you just had that little animation shift (which was/is unintended) to indicate shes phasing.
-
@Reinami said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3637167#Comment_3637167
Sure, but you CAN outplay it, then when you do it takes a while to come back meanwhile she is a 110 killer with no power. she basically can't get hits outside of her power unless the survivor messes up horribly, in which case they deserve to get hit.
Never said you couldnt, just said in most cases its still heavily in The Spirits
To be clear as well thats not a bad thing, the power is meant to be high risk high reward and its exactly that

You’re probably facing the wrong way. For example, if you loop around an object counter-clockwise, and always look forward, then Spirit will be to your left regardless of where she is in the loop, which isn’t helpful at all.
You’re supposed to look towards the loop itself, so that the directional audio will actually be different, depending on which direction she is moving.
As a more advanced tactic, you would actually move your camera slightly left or right to confirm Spirit’s location. For example, if you think Spirit is looping counter-clockwise, and you are facing the loop, then you should move the camera to the right a bit, so that if Spirit really is going that direction, your camera is angled far enough that the directional audio will be fully on the left side.
True, but there are some loops where this just doesnt really matter. Lots of filler loops that already require a read regardless of the killer is now HEAVILY in the Spirits favor since she can react to sound while the Survivor needs to guess using sound.
-
@Reinami said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3636995#Comment_3636995
Actually modern day spirit its the opposite.
You have more information on the spirit, because the phase is directional and will tell you exactly where she is now, if you are injured then you have equal information.
That directional phase only really matters from a distance. At short loops the sound sort of meshes together and at the end of the day shes still moving at almost twice your speed, which gives her a lot more room for error
-
The way you have to take it is she has more information on you than you do on her, meaning she has a much easier time guessing where you're going to be. So what do you do to counter act this? Make her guess as well. Dropping a pallet in advance means she knows that you're at that pallet/loop, but she can't tell exactly where, nor will she know if you'll vault it or not.
Essentially, try to keep her guessing as much as you are.

And it is cool that you've managed to line up your prestiges, it makes them special. I don't have a P100 character yet, it hasn't been long since I came back to the game. But if I'll reach that level with a character, it will obviously be Freddy.

I wasn't around for All Hallows' Eve, unfortunately. But it looks awesome, the theme is fire and that was when Freddy released, so it has a special meaning. And I just love Halloween.
It is interesting that your first P3 is connected to an event, in a way. Mine was just randomly achieved after a long journey that cost me my last Glass Splinter >:(
All Hallows Eve was a pretty good event minus all the people crying about how OP Freddy was (different times lol)
Funny thing is as well is my first P100 is Meg, which was almost exactly 6 years later as it was done during the last Bone Chill Event.
Now Im looking to line up my first P3 killer which was Trapper back in March 2018 to him being my first P100 hopefully in March of this year :)

And now that I think about it, maybe I would select the Winter Solstice 2018 menu once or twice. To remember the good old days when I first started playing this game.
Winter Solstice 2017 is the event I got a new PC (that eventually died like 3 months later :( ) and also when I got my first P3 character being Meg. Friend of mine also started playing around the same time and we would play the game for hours back then. Overall, good times.
