It seems to fail horribly at blending in. I honestly don't think it understands truly what it's parroting.

My favourite unknown voice line is "live life...to the fullest" like thanks Mr killer, I really needed to that motivational pick me up today

Im pretty sure its fully aware of what its doing and the way it mimics people is a thing it does to instill fear into its victims.

The main voiceline I can think of that confirms this is one it says in the lobby: "I... the nameless... legend."

  • What Chaos Shuffle should be is randomized perks, items, add ons, and the only offerings available are bloodpoint offerings

We know they can disable certain offerings in specific gamemodes since they do it for events, (Blood Moon which literally just ended is a perfect example) no idea why they haven't done it yet.

This popped up in one of my bloodwebs, you can see a Bloodshot Eye as well

  • Unless Im thinking of something completely different or if Im misremembering either his lore or The Thing... but the only thing I can think of that they share is them taking the form of their victims, but The Unknown twists and mutilates their bodies and doesnt even try to mimic who they once were, unlike The Thing which does try to conceal itself. The way it "mimics" peoples voices seems to be more of a way to induce fear. In the base lore, there was no reason for it to "call for help" and to have a party by flickering the lights. Its also said in the lore that anyone who tries to investigate it usually dissappear with no explanation.

My theory is that The Unknown is a physical manifestation of the unknown and its existence is purely because of the belief of its existence, similar to say Santa or the Boogeyman. Only difference is that The Unknown is real.

How this relates to the power is a bit of a stretch, but the way I see it has to do with Weakened. The Unknown isnt much of a threat to a Survivor who isnt Weakened, thus they have no reason to fear it. Once Weakened, the threat of The Unknown is very well present, and the more Survivors who are Weakened (or fear the unknown) the more presence it has, due to Hallucinations spawning more frequently. The only way to get rid of that fear, is to face the Unknown directly. Its also worth mentioning that Survivors who fail to do so (failing to dispel) also become engulfed with fear (Weakened)

as for the grenade launcher idfk lol

I'm not sure why this is getting so heavily downvoted and receiving so many complaints. I guess the language used in the post is... unusual, but it's a valid request to ask for hairstyles to accurately represent a character's culture. Imagine if Sable had a bouffant.

Someone mentioned that this isn't a priority, and that's totally fair. There may be much more urgent priorities. I guess if BHVR thinks there's bandwidth for this, and that there's a monetary incentive to make that kind of update, then as long as it doesn't disrupt critically needed updates, I don't see why this couldn't be done :D

Mainly because this aint really the place for it

I thought BHVR hid prestige’s levels specifically because there were too many lobby dodges happening because of it???

Why would they give players stuff that can be seen in lobbys, so people can lobby dodge the P100s again?

The difference here is that its a choice to show it or not, similar to Legacy.

    I would like that.

As a related note, I would love a Forum podcast where we could debate topics via voice communication. I feel things can be lost so easily in text and I'd love to do it.

That would be pretty interesting... al though the only way I really see it happening is a DbD Forums Discord which has the event thingy built in, so theres only a few people able to discuss at a time and others can still listen and chat normally

whats that ? Moonlight offerings brown and yellow maps? sorry I am still relatively new

way back in the day there used to be map offerings that had the Common and Uncommon rarities. I think these were the values but some one can correct me if Im wrong:

    Common increased chances by 10%

    Uncommon increased chances by 25%

    Rare increased chances by 50%

These became no longer obtainable in October of 2017, and the green rarity ones were the only one that remained and they guaranteed being sent to that realm (like today). They were later retired in I believe 2021 or 2022, meaning they couldnt be used anymore.

Moonlight offerings also became unobtainable during that patch, and they made it so the maps were either darker or brighter. I believe these were retired back in 2018.

Cypress Momento Moris are more recent. They were Uncommon rarity and they made it so you could mori the last Survivor. This how ever was made basekit with the introduction of the Finisher Mori, and the offering was retired.

This change is really not needed.

There was nothing wrong with the old colors.

    Totally agree with this

Also I really dont understand the difference between the Legendary/Iconic rarity.. like why do some of them have that golden border while others dont? I thought it was those who were maybe just model changes and nothing else but thats not the case

The boquet offerings were really unbalanced tbh, but if they were reworked to make maps garuntee a day or night cycle, that'd be cool. Cypress should've stayed as a bonus bp offering for killing the last survivor

What Im referring to here is they're completely gone. I had a few still on my Laurie and Feng, and they're gone now. Had Cypress mori's on the majority of my killers and they're gone as well

It does matter because it's no different from learning an unlicensed map that has a consistent layout, so lol?

And no the statement comes from watching all the popular streamers throwing out this opinion that people parrot, rather than coming up with their own, and I'm gonna say it now if we get a pizzeria and it's not more portion of it being indoors compared to outdoors, it's gonna be disliked by the majority.

We want the iconic locations being the focus, not random moon or forest number 23

Youre right, it is no different. Which is why earlier we were talking about indoor maps in general which is why RPD was brought up.

The whole content creator parroting is true in some cases, but the moment some one shares the same opinion as an influencer it isnt their opinion anymore. This isnt something exclusive to DbD either, this is just general thing. Also those same people may watch these creators because them and their communities are like minded.

As for the pizzaria idk what to tell you but it is more than likely going to be half indoors half outdoors considering Im gonna bet its either gonna be one of these 3 locations: The original pizzaria from the first game, Fazbears Fright, or the one seen in the movie. None of these are big enough to be maps of their own.

they are always the same everytime and the easiest to learn, so that's not true. Exit gates are always in the same places also, basement is normally in the same place every time.

It's just not the case, it's literally dbd only players, all my friends love the licensed maps, love the references. Not to mention they are the best for more jump scare builds like stealth killers for a more horror experience.

It doesnt matter if theyre the same every time, anybody who hasnt played RE2make has a tough time navigating the map since at the end of the day its a bunch of tight corridors. Once you know it its easy, but it takes time to learn it.

also what are you on about "its only dbd players" like... yeah? arent we all? Just because some one plays the game more casual doesnt mean they arent a dbd player, and just because your circle of friends like indoor/licensed maps doesnt mean everyone does. I myself dont mind them too much, but I know Im in the minority here.

IDK most casual players love the indoor maps, it seems to be a people who only play DBD who hate them half the time.

I love all of the indoor maps on both sides as I love the attention to detail and how they've made iconic locations into interactable loops etc. and often they only mess over S tier high mobility killers, oh no… terrible….

It's always DBD only players who moan about licensed maps for the most part. Nostromo is the perfect example why they should never listen to DBD players lol its boring to look at and play in and I hate it as an alien fan aside from the interior easter egss and references.

"it seems to be a people who only play DBD who hate them half the time."

    17446457729017791345064963310690.gif

Most casuals dont like indoor maps either considering their harder to navigate. Licensed maps for the most post are complained about since their designs just arent that great. Haddonfield is another great example of a map that looks great visually, but is terrible gameplay wise.

  • Dave mentioned the Groaning Storehouse if I remember correctly, so "the shed" that Cote refers to might be that.

    Could also be Cowshed lol

  • are the survivors complaining about skully nowadays in the room with us?

  • When the store was first added a lot of skins were just recolors like this, and a lot of them are similar in the sense where usually one of them have added flavor text

  • This wasnt a challenge, rather an achievement. Deranged Pursuit

"But Shroompy! isnt that like one of the easiest in the game?"

Well yes... but back in my day... when the Legion pandemic was upon us... their unique achievement wasnt the easiest to get.

Im sure yall already know OG Legion so I aint gonna explain it. Basically you needed to hit a Survivor in Frenzy, then you needed to hit another Survivor in Frenzy, then you needed to return to the original Survivor you had initially stab and down them. All in a single use of your power.

Few things to note: Frenzy used to only last 6 seconds, Deep Wounds timer was 30 seconds instead of 20, and Legion only took 10 seconds away from the timer on a stab. Meaning you either needed to stab minimum 3 people, and run add ons that could actually help with this.

Stolen Sketchbook used to add an additional 2 seconds to power usage, Stab Wounds Studies would cut the DW timer from 30 seconds to 25 seconds, and the most impactful and strongest add on by far, Franks Mixtape. Which removed 15 seconds instead of 10 off the DW timer upon hitting some one. These add ons made it a bit easier, but it was still very difficult. Oh and I almost forgot to mention, you still needed to do this 25 times.

In the end I did manage to complete it, and I remember checking an achievement tracker website and according to it I was the 9th person to ever unlock that achievement on Steam, and before the achievement was eventually reworked to what it is now there were only about 20 people who completed it.

    Ah the good ol' days...

Loath as I am to say it, the entire Alien chapter is a wasted opportunity. Xeno's power could've been so much more, but just wasn't, we didn't get Sigourney as Ellen, and Nostromo didn't even get a unique realm (but did get a map offering??). It an interesting combination, where some parts of the Chapter (like the main building & shack replacement) feel like they were meticulously crafted over three years, and others feel like they were cobbled together using leftover code and a three-day Red Bull binge

    dont diss the redbull binge

  • Idk man people keep saying we should keep the horror in dead by daylight, and theres nothing scarier than Jake Park with a beamer

  • While it sounds cool in theory, indoor maps have a pretty bad reputation and I cant see how Nostromo would of been any different, no matter how aesthetically pleasing it would be. Original RPD (and current) is a great example of this, it was very faithful to the source material but it had so many flaws and the design didnt really fit with DbDs gameplay.

I think they did pretty good with the map being a hybrid, but there could be a few tweaks. Mainly the exit gates and the corners by main building being pretty barren at times

This isn't as busted as people think, just instantly transport tapes and crank out blood gens when tvs are disabled. Then the remaining ones you just keep turning the tv off until the gens done since you don't need to travel far and wide to get fuel. I tested it out yesterday after someone pointed her out, and i got a 2k 10 stages, really not that busted

just because you didnt get a perfect result on your first attempt doesnt mean it isnt problematic.

I mean, yeah, that does seem to be already trending towards the desired kill rates (which is ~60%, isn't it, not 50%?).

I think its safe to say he does need some tuning when he has the mobility of an F-35 and better lock on than a spinbotter in CS
