I figured out with unknown the best way to keep the status effect on them is to play like a reverse trickster where you are constantly trying to stay in cover, popping out whenever your next shot is ready. And his ideal distance to shoot from is mid-long range as they cant run towards or away from you to avoid the shot like they can up close.
Currently the doctors illusions count as a tracking device through walls like the perk with the birds as he can see them through the walls and they look in the general direction of the survivor. They could get like a slight motion towards the survivor or an attack swing animation, maybe even switch between them to make them seem atleast convincing enough for a split second. (Along with aestris illusions could atleast have motion to them)
Ill admit with ghost face while playing him i feel lile you get broken out of stealth too easy, yet playing against him its like theres nothing you can do even staring at him point blank doesnt work fast enough. Hard to balance that.
Dracula is 1 of my 2 100 mains and his hellfire pillars can certainly feel the nerf even with 2 cooldown addons. And both his red addons are so useless that 1 of them makes it harder to land hits rather than easier (because it barely curves toward the survivor like it says it does while removing some range) and the other only gets seen if youve lost the round, and doesnt do anything unless you are right at the gate as it opens and people arent injured AND they don't dodge all the pillars lol so he could use a change or buff for those.
My first 100 main is xeno and ive never been excited to play against him as the turrets are such a "well that didnt work" mechanic that you are prettymuch guaranteed to go down quickly unless they can't aim well. And playing the xeno is somewhat annoying with the lower view, and survivors being able to pile turrets to make safezones where you will always lose chase or take twice as long to catch them so allot of people avoid playing the xeno. So i wouldnt mind a full rework of his power like they are trying to do with skull merchant, as there were quite a few ideas everyone had in mind on how it would likely play when the chapter released.
The one thing i notice with Pyramid head is i feel too slow. Everytime ive ever tried to chase someone from one end of the map to the gate i could run in a straight line behind them and still not catch up (even without the hope perk). And i don't know if the pyramid head mains would be mad but i would mind if the cages counted as hooks and gave endurance/hooking points towards perks etc, as the only reason to send someone to a cage is to either tunnel or you are surrounded by people trying to blind you etc. (And definitely the addons need changing lol)
-
Never "seen" the eyes either but even the original first movie alien suit had a skull with eyeholes underneath the big dome. Think of it as one of those deep see fish where their eyes are on the inside of a big see through sack/bubble. The blighted outfit shows where its eyes really are just the dome part is kinda removed.
As for flashlights lasting a long time, if they bring double batteries they can blind several times more, and if they have Felix's perk they can actualy recharge the empty flashlight several times.
But ive been there with an actual hacker with a flashlight, if they can blind you even from behind, and can show up every time you pick someone up even if you saw them run away, then its a hacker.

Whats M&K?

I still use it as i just run aestris perks + botany when playing her. But the main thing id say would be a major buff to it would be if it activates while performing actions. I don't see how knowing where the killer is coming from when healing or on a generator or doing a totem, would end up being too strong or overused, as you alredy get a terror radius, a glowing heart showing how close the killer is, and then using an entire perk slot to see exactly where that killer is jist to give you an idea on where to start running etc. All while ada's generator perk exists to do almost the same thing but for the whole team.

Exactly, you shouldn't have been able to before and it was an issue. Blinding is caused by putting a light source into your direct line of sight, so being able to be blinded from outside your FoV should never have been a thing in the first place. Do you think it was fair that killers could be blinded by light sources they couldn't even see?
Im not even against the new blind angle lol i was just pointing out that flashbangs werent the only change
-
I still managed to use the 10 minute abandon feature to get an adept achievement on killer. So it probably doesnt count as a win in mmr but the achievements sure count them as kills. Anyone know if they count towards sacrifice challenges?
-
Im confused on how pulling off the claw trap will work. Does the claw trap still have a timer before being able to pull it off? If not than hitting someone with a drone at long range would only hit them for 1 health state and they would remove it before you reach them. and then to ever be able to use your emp shot, you would need to stop chasing, control a drone and try to hit them while they make half a map of distance, which might even be removed again before you get there.
And if there is a timer giving her a chance to reach the target before removal, would it be like removing birds while running or would it be standing in place like mending? As a timer would give her a chance to come to you and use her emp, but once in chase youd never get a chance to stand still long enough to remove the trap unless its a very short animation

Why would a killer be able to be blinded from outside of their FoV? Isn't that kinda how blinding is supposed to work?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3919151#Comment_3919151
I really hate to call out specific people on things like this, but being dismissive about killer complaints caused by a one sided response to an issue is exactly why these issues keep cascading like this. Its not uncommon for one side's issues to cause issues for the other side based on how they adapt to the original changes, which is why its so important to not spot treat issues and instead focus on solutions that treat problems further up the chain instead of just the thing people are complaining about at the moment. If people were less spiteful about the issues their opponents face, we might actually start to get some health in the game rather than this weird vindictive tribalism.
Im just saying what they changed. You could be blinded from the side with a flashlight before along with flashbangs againts a wall etc. Now its a rather small cone that resembles the killers fov. Where even if the flashlight is on their face, it will not work unless you are standing infront of the killer, not to the side where u can still see and aim at their face
-
It wasnt just the flashbang. The entire blinding angle was reduced even for flashlights. Its like if the player with the flashlight isnt within the killers fov then the light on their face doesnt even start to trigger the light burn.
-
Im not sure about controller but on pc there are remappable controls for example they had vaulting/dropping pallets set to Space. But i changed them to Q. Meanwhile mending was on right click by default so its never been on the same control as dropping pallets etc. Maybe theres an option to switch mending and stuff to RT while keeping vaulting and pallet interactions on RB?
-
The blood gens are too fast to do, too hard to protect, and quie difficult to get points from if someone else finnishes the last 5% for you etc. The speed of these gens also promotes the killer into tunneling/slugging the whole team to keep up causing both sides to just be frustrating to play as both are trying to finnish the game in half the time.
A new type of objective free from perks is welcome sure but the way they made these just isnt worth bringing to the base game currently, some killers arent even playable because of how fast they finnish.
-
I dont see how its a loss if you can still get adept achievement for that same dc

I think it’s a misconception that the whole Halloween license is comics only. The only thing that is from the comics is Laurie’s likeness cuz Jamie lees likeness rights are probably very expensive but even then I don’t thats confirmed either Even if that’s not the point I’ll take any version of Loomis comics or not.
I mean im not trying to put your hopes down id love more halloween content as well. During dbds early years it seemed like they grabbed any big licence they could get, but the least expensive/iconic version. For example freddy not being taken from any of the main movies, only the small reboot with a different actor. In halloweens case, they took the comic version probably because it was the only myers/laurie they could afford at the time. If they had gotten the movie license who knows if they wouldve added more over time since the movies keep coming out and Jamie Lee keeps the role going.
But they are stuck with the licenses they have instead of the bigger versions, its like they can't "upgrade" to the more iconic ones due to everyone alredy purchasing the older content. And probably maintaining an image where they can be trusted to keep each license in good hands and, "replacing" them might make future license holders with multiple versions hold back from collaberations.
-
Prettymuch just a bigger bloodpoint grind with a much higher chance to lose based on triple generator speeds.
I mostly just play killer in it because the survivors have to fight eachother for points, while the killer gets most points even for losing. the killer is also always pressured to kill everyone in the fastest most efficient way (turbo tunneling, team slug the remaining 3) which makes survivor even less enjoyable. Not saying i try to tunnel right off the bat but everytime you chase someone 2-4 generators go off unless they are all in one area for some reason. Most of the game takes place with 1 generator left..
-
As far as recolours go, i thought they might be able to do something like the glowing halloween void cosmetics but more like an entity infested version so they can still sell and make more of those on halloween

Hmm okay I gotta get used to how kicking pallets is since I run Brutal Strength a lot seeing the difference will be something.
Half the time u wont be breaking the pallets with vecna since u can just block/lift them with mage hand+proper timing

Oh i didnt know it was months it usualy felt lile 1 week after a release lol

Ive been playing her since the start of the event and haven't noticed lol.
I love her classic look as well and have been playing all the classic remaster collections. But i get the impression the developers have changed people since those games and the ones there now seem to hate how she used to look. The "retro fit" outfit for example, they realllllllly don't want to give her shorts lol. Instead they "remade" the classic outfit to cover even more than the default. So i have doubts about ever seeing classic looks based on that. Otherwise it was also some big thing that she wasnt allowed to get a christmas sweater last year, so i have doubts of ANY cosmetics coming sadly.
-
The chances of getting all 5 totems rebuilt before someone breaks one of them to keep the permenent effect, are now much lower than they alredy were. Infact ive only ever seen it happen once, and i didnt even know that was part of the perk i almost thought it was hacks because ive never seen them blocked before lol. Now you have to keep people away from 5 totems they will see through walls even by accident, with no other totems standing to protect them.
-
Sometimes the game goes through a connection problem. This time they even gave a bloodpoint bonus as compensation for the connection problem many were having. It maye be fixed by now
-
Seeing as vecnas main 2 offensive abilities are the skeletons that go through walls and flying through windows/pallets, id say a gen regression perk like overcharge, friends till the end, im all ears, and bamboozle.
-
Thing about that halloween licence they got, is its a comic book version which is why they didnt end up with a laurie strode like the movie. Dr loomis is in the comics yes, but the actors likeness is from another licence and would cut into their not putting 1 licence skin onto another licence - rule. Itd be possible to get a comic version of him. Think of it as the difference between ghost face we got, and ghost face from scream.
-
Well the cosmetics i got were neas outfit, the unknowns mask, jonah's mask, kanekis outfit, and kanekis Rize legendary. I did end up with the banner. So maybe its kanekis purple outfit or a certain number of cosmetics in general. Because rize legendary gives the kaneki mask badge, i think i got the flowers banner from kanekis purple outfit or just buying the chapter. So it might have been buying 4-5 cosmetics in total
-
Id asume theres some kind of difference between "game mode" and "events/modifiers" when it comes to the mmr. Maybe they just haven't added an mmr system to the game mode variant. Which 2v8 was a game mode, and chaos shuffle is a modifier, blood moon is an event.
-
Im not sure if i got one for buying the jester hat for unknown with shards, during the april fools day stuff, but thats the only thing that comes to mind that itd be tied to
-
Ive noticed i miss allot more with the flashlight as well. And my theory is it wasnt just flashbangs that were nerfed, but the blinding angle in general, you now have to be almost directly infront of the killer to blind even with a flashlight as it seems the side angle u used to be able to do is not possible anymore and requires you to aim more from the center of their vision. Like its went from 180 degrees to an 80 degree cone
-
From my experience its several things that could cause them to give up.
- they see the killer has no problem with tunneling right off hooks and they don't want to bother trying when the killer just wants to win at all costs.
- Its myers and he brought an indoor map for a 45 minute poke and hide match and they either don't have time for it or find it extremely annoying.
- A killer theyve seen for the 4th time in a row and theyd rather see who they get for the next round.
- They had a challenge for something, maybe red emblems and since they got found first and downed there goes one of their red emblems so they are alredy fed up with trying for (2 red emblems in 1 match) and decide to get a fresh start on the next round.
- A killer they really don't like or associated them with hard tunneling in every round theyve ever seen them (like wesker)
- Some people even hate specific maps enough to quit sometimes
- They may have been sandbagged by a teammate and their way of getting back at them is throwing the round.
- They don't like the way they got hit, like for example how ghostface often ends up marking you weather you are staring right at him or not and then hits you through a pallet or something.
- They just decided they aren't enjoying the game anymore and leave to go play something else.
- They are being targetted by the killer and don't enjoy being tunneled or harassed so they just leave with what they have.
-
A Lovecraftian smaller version of Cthulhu - codename: The Old God. And H.P Lovecraft as a survivor (chapter).
The only thing that comes to mind with Cthulhu is that he has psychic abilities and an overwhelmingly powerful stench lol as all the stories involving it mention how bad it smells. Unknowns power wouldve fit well but since thats taken maybe he can repurpose old doctors passive screaming aura, except it can be countered by crouching so that its mostly used in chase and gives a sense of needing to hide when the killer comes by or u start to lose your mind. And it can build up stacks so that if ur in its radius he can do a mental attack when you are at maximum stacks, resetting on damage. So in short an aoe killer countered by crouching/ hiding or escaping chase quickly with lockers/distance etc. (Maybe even losing a stack per stun as he loses his mental connection a bit)
The reason i don't mention him using wings for flying is so that he might get legendary skins that turn im into Dagon or other lovecraftian monsters.
-
For some reason the loading screen tips said they drop the can once downed. But then it didnt, and they said they removed the tip from the loading screen.
-
They need to fix blood generator rewards so its based on how much you put in it rather than if u finnished it. Or atleast make it a bonus for the whole team as the killer will always get more points even if all 4 escape because they are constantly getting event points for hitting and hooking and kicking, where survivors are lucky if they can finnish 1 of the blood gens before they all go off
-
The upcoming birds rework would probly force that player out to come help you as they will be revealed constantly if they don't. Lots of changes coming, and they seem to add to the abandon feature whenever as the new ptb has an additon to the feature alredy

"It started out casual" - Translation: You were up against low-MMR survivors who don't know how to bully/sweat. They probably thought you were a bully/sweaty killer.
"thats it no more fun for you, bring in the swat teams and bully squads" - Translation: You came up against high-MMR survivors who played at a much higher level than the survivors you faced earlier in the day. They were much more efficient and better at looping so now you feel they're bullying/sweating.
Listen, if you are winning a good portion of your matches in a ranked game, any game in or outside of DBD, you should always be in a position where you're generally winning/losing 50% of your matches, unless you're in the top/bottom 5% of players skill-wise in the game. If you are on a winning streak, then you will have to be prepared to go on a losing streak soon enough, because you'll eventually face players who did what was needed to win their matches, just the same as you did. If you go on a losing streak, then you'll get back to winning ways soon enough. If you're generally winning about 50% of your games and every game is a close match, then you're at your correct MMR ranking, and you'll probably stay that way until you go on a winning/losing streak.
I understand all that i was just trying to bring up an example of why killers are tunneling in the event like the post mentioned, most of the killers are going through the same thing where they have to switch to doing anything necessary to win, and then end up at your group when u were just playing casually and they are alredy in hardcore mmr mode because sometimes the mmr puts those 2 together anyway
-
I played killer all day and it started out casual, winning kinda effortlessly no tunneling or nothing needed. As the day went on my mmr or something hit a point where the game was like "thats it no more fun for you, bring in the swat teams and bully squads" and for the rest of the day 3 or 4 generators would pop before i could hook 2 people so im forced to tunnel alredy because i wont get anything if i follow the rule book like an average game. And eventually ur playing that way just to make ends meet and then that killers mmr has a brain fart and gives them a casual group who just logged on to get a few bloodpoints and they get obliterated. Meanwhile if u play survivor u just end up getring tunneled or at maximum 30k while the killer still gets 40-50k even if everyone escaped. I managed to get 8 prestiges in 1 day just playing killer, but yea those generatoe speeds are forcing tunneling, and then those killers either get someone playing a guitar or the round is going too fast so they end up farming.
-
One thing people would say is swfs could counter it too easily as theyd all pre run from eachother until they confirm its them over coms. But against randoms itd be effective. As for the random character at the start, i think itd help if the thing copies their current health state, taking advantage of players wanting to heal injured survivors by being able to instadown someone trying to heal them. Which would make randoms extremely weary of eachother and even avoid healing eachother lol
-
I wouldve loved it as an indoor map. Wouldve loved if we got Sigourney weaver. Wouldve loved if the alien had better stealth mechanics. But it is what it is. Nearly every licence in the game is missing something that wouldve made it feel complete, in aliens case there were several missing things. Castlevania also missed several opportunities, the map, the cosplays instead of legendaries etc
-
I still get them in nearly every lobby as killer. 30% of the time in survivor que.
-
Mind gaming on either side is basicly doing something that makes the other player predict that you will do one thing and then you end up doing the other, which results in the killer finally catching up to the survivor or the survivor getting just enough time to last even longer in a chase.
For killers one example is looking another direction before coming around a corner so that the survivor is not seeing the red stain coming from that direction, or even turning off your terror radius mid chase behind walls with killers like ghost face/pig/chucky/onryo. Or starting to go one way and then backing up and coming from the other direction. Basicly anything that makes you catch the survivor by surprise while they try to predict your movements in chase. Even going towards a pallet then backing up before they can drop it, can allow some killers to hit over it or prevent the stun and break or vault pallet faster (often happens on legion)
For survivors its more like baiting attacks for example a window you pretend to go to vault but juke to the side instead and then nemisis ends up whipping the empty window and goes into an attack cooldown allowing you to vault through. Or pretending to go one way, predicting the killers movements and avoiding going that way and he ends up trying to cut you off from that direction only to find you didnt go in that direction which gives you more distance, or even quickly crouching around a corner or in a bush and they don't see you as the turn around the corner and they keep running forword or cant see you in the bush, giving you the chance to escape the chase or more distance.
-
Its not so much about him being overpowered as u can still sometimes win (like 2 people escaping). Its about the fact that he is nurse/blight/legion rolled into 1 and easier to pickup and master than wraith. And that quick power trip has every killer main playing him and only him because he always gets results either from the skull merchant effect or simply because he can nulify every defense perk and tunnel right off hooks from across the map ensuring basekit borrowes time or even off the record doesnt exist with 1 click with you being anywhere on the screen.
not even skull merchant chapter release was this bad as most didnt even want to play her either but this is like 90% of the killer players all day every day. The hate for this killer is only piling up
-
I think iri addons for killer are better if they just greatly assist the killer with the micromanagement of their power much like Trappers iri addons. They don't give you instant downs in chase, instead they take away the annoyance of having to go rearm traps that are always being closed, and prevent some survivors from wanting to disarm traps at all as theyd get injured for doing so.
An example idea for an iri addon for the artist could be to lower the cooldown of the second bird, while having only a maximum of 2 birds to fire. Which would help with being able to hit players swarmed with birds, but still requires the skill to aim the bird at a moving target.
Meanwhile a bad example would be something like the xenomorph turrets now target survivors lol
-
Maybe the abandon feature can be upgraded to the last 2 survivors if 1 is slugged for more than 10 seconds
-
I think kanekis name was censored before even the ptb to prevent people from spreading the leaks in game. But i have no idea why they keep it permanently censored

No, it 100% does not. If you claim a challenge, it will never waste the BP. This isn't changing.
I just remember saving up bp for a new chapter and had 2 million and had a challenge finnished, when i claimed it, it was still at 2 million. Maybe its changed by now i don't know because i havent dared try it out again since then

There is two pools of Bloodpoints in this game. One that fills up on the normal gameplay that was capped at 2mil currently 5mil. Then you have the special Bloodpoint pool that all the Bloodpoints you get other ways go to that has no limit. So to my knowledge the tome bloodpoints go to this second pool and as it has no limit there is noway of losing the Bloodpoints you earned.
I think claming a challenge done while capped at 2 mill still wasted the bloodpoints. Not sure how itl go with these dailies

Ive played since i think myers chapter, and my friend i got into the game around the Ringu chapter, weve been playing it on our days off ever since but this kaneki chapter, i swear we could play 2 rounds and be like "so wanna go play something else? Cuz we both know the next round is just going to be another tunneling kaneki.."
-
Opening the hatch 2 times with a key (people either don't leave and wait for you in end game collapse, or you have to be the one person that didnt get killed, or slugged while the killer ensures their 4k, and then find out where it is, allow the killer to close it first Then open it before he remembers you brought a key) lol

i would have really preferred if Chris was a full survivor as he is one of the MAIN RE characters, i really like Rebecca and its nice to see her get love but seeing as they do almost nothing with her for cosmetics i feel like she should have been a legendary.
Mostly it was a thing to bring up a point about Castlevania making all the characters into cosplays. But when asking for a legendary of Shanoa or Simon Belmont, most keep saying the cosplays are fine and alredy "close enough" (which brings the question above^ would you prefer your favorite character to just be a cosplay, or would you want them to atleast make it a legendary?) And everyone said legendary which is the opposite of "the cosplays are fine".
And i did find it odd they went with Leon and Jill instead of Chris and Jill while Leon has never met Jill until she was replaced by "new jill". They couldve even went with leon and claire for 1 chapter, jill and chris for 2nd chapter. But i guess they chose leon and new jill to promote the re2/re3 remakes
-
Whenever i used to play skull merchant the survivors would often want to befriend me so much theyd run up to me and ask them to put them on hooks to help me out, have no idea why though
-
Had a nea with a red latency bar that i couldnt even hit with the alien. Later on she was stuck i a healing animation and i was able to hit her twice, and she was in downed postion while standing. Game would not let me pick her up so i killed the other 3 first and was able to mori her. Yea theres some weird stuff going on lol
Ah i got an even better one today, i chased everyone out the gate except the person i had slugged, then when i went to pick her up to bring her to the door the game just closed and said she escaped alredy.. that was definitely sketchy
-
As a xeno main i can say the killer still works well and its nice to not need the green helmet anymore. But you will notice a difference with the tail attack when it comes to people who are good at dodging it, they are 50% more likely to avoid it now as you have to pre fire it just to hit anyone anywhere due to how long it takes to come out now.
-
I got the same impression as i really liked skull merchant at first and then avoided playing it because others hate it. Same thing here as Rize is one of mt favorite anime characters and then the ghoul gets overplayed and is alredy hated for being overtuned lol
