3 gens are already done when the Killer manages to down someone most of the time, except the survivor did a huge mistake and died way earlier. But we will stick to the point that we have a decent survivor.
Finishing the last 2 gens while someone is on a hook with a genrepair penalty is most of the time totally possible with 3 survivors beeing able to do it. Even 2 survivors can finish the last 2 gens faster before the guy will die on his first hook. You need 2 min to bleedout while survivors need 80sec to finish 1 gen, split the 2 gens to 2 survivors and you have your answer!
I dont think that this change would be too hurtfull personally.
If you have 3 gens popping constantly before your first hook then I'm sorry but you're just not very good at the game, so I can totally see why you'd want that 20% slowdown, on the other hand, competent killers will easily be able to catch someone sooner, and start slowing gens down almost immediately, only to have noed come into effect and grant them their extra 0 effort kills.

@BenZ0 said:
Killers are already doing this exactly what you say and survivors can still manage to escape through this if you play decently with meta perks.
And you think making this playstyle stronger is healthy for the game?
-
@BenZ0 said:
It would be better if genspeed should be reduced for the time while someone is on the hook (By 20%). That would be awsome honestly.
This wouldn't work, this would just make NOED + Camping the meta, you know gens are slower, you camp the first person, there's literally no way they've done all the gens + totems in that time, you find a second person, then there's only two people doing gens, then you have an easy NOED proc.

That was one example but the point stands, regardless of how much you want to insult me for it or what childish tantrums you want to throw over one point.
You're literally having a tantrum yourself, exploits aren't intentionally put in the game to be abused. Y I K E S

Things like exploits when they are in the game, are toxic. Period.
Don't use absolutes recklessly like that.
I don't think anyone on planet earth would even think that I am implying exploits are ok but pop off sis.
-
Yea, they announced the issue was due to it setting you to the wrong servers, an example would be Australian Players were being queued up in the US/UK servers, giving huge pings.
Hope you enjoy the game without servers while you can, they'll be back soon :P

Yes, all perks can show in the shrine except for newly released ones which I think have like a 2 - 3 month lock before they can pop up.
Freddies perks seem to be pretty rare in showing up though, Bloodwarden didn't show up at all last year while Remember Me & Fire Up showed up 2 or 3 times.

Never thought about it like that, I always limit myself to brown add-ons to see how good I can play against red ranked players while playing "fair", but I'm realizing that I've fallen victim to the survivor rule book.
Meh, killers have their rules too, most notably "Don't do gens or you're gen rushing". Just ignore the "rules" and play as you wish, hopefully people will realise that tbagging has 0 impact on a match, and you wont get camped every match I think we'd all have a more enjoyable experience, it is just a game afterall.

People not being afraid has nothing to do with the aesthetic nor does it have anything to do with the fact that its a human controlled killer. By all means the human element adds more to the equation. The reason people aren't scared of things in video games or movies alike are because either A, your audience can predict whats about to happen. B, you've told your audience whats about to happen. Or C, theres no sense of urgency or threat so even if something did happen its not a big deal <----this creates comedy.
I don't think BHVR has the same team of sequencers and psychology staff behind them to make this game scary. If it was a AAA title, you have teams of writers and people who specialize in horror thinking about interactions and timing and ways that you can launch someone off their seat. When you get too predictable like a movie or an on the rails video game is things get predictable and if you allow a player to prepare for those predictions to overcome them with east you effectively trivialize your content. DBD has the benefit of the human element in killers so theres always a suprise element in whoevers playing the killer can control the pace of the scares and lean into or off of the threat pedal.
I'm sorry but no, scary games don't make you jump 10 times if you play them over and over again, It just doesn't happen, there is nothing scary about a game I've put 4K hours into, there was nothing scary about it after I put 200 hours into it, it's never going to be scary for anyone with any amount of hours over 100 no matter how many writers or psychologists you have because things don't get scarier over time, they become less scary, I don't get how that's hard to understand.

I wish more people understood this. Survivors are not going to feel fear towards a human controlled killer in a multiplayer game. Simple as that. That feeling is replaced by wanting to beat that player and win...you aren’t scared of them. Completely different mindset then one would have playing a single player survival horror game.
Exactly, and even with single player games, take something like Resident Evil 7, scared the heck out of me, but I see speed runners going through it calling out all the jump scares etc and not being phased by it, any game that you put time into you will become desensitized to it all.
-
Using mories isn't toxic, period.
It's in the game, it isn't toxic, just have fun dude.
-
I'm sure they'll revisit characters which is hopefully when they'll get their Vinyls, they're so cute, I'm excited to see what they have in store in terms of charms tbh.
-
I really don't think it's that bad, previously you'd have people 99 the hooks, and then if someone were to get picked up, they'd run over, hit it for 0.1 of a second and drop the hook, now the survivors have to come off the gens earlier, figure out which hook, then spend 2.5 seconds dropping it.
Obviously in PTB it's going be a lot more egregious because people are throwing themselves in front of the killer to test out the new perk, and every killer I went against when playing the PTB was over rank 15, so they didn't have as much game knowledge or situational awareness as a higher ranked player so the videos you see of it are grossly misrepresented.
I think it brings back a very dead mechanic in the game, and it's opening the opportunity for more "meta" perks, I can see me running this instead of DH/Unbreakable because it's so fun to try and use.

The only reason you're dropping it is because you have no actual point to what you're saying. You're calling somebody biased simply because they believe that it isn't rewarding to literally not be able to do anything in the damn game. I don't even know why you mentioned anything about bias in such a conversation.
Like this guy really thought at the end of this the survivor did a fist pump and said "Well, at least the killer deranked, what a win", lol.

Smh bias as in only considering you’re experiences and region as a example bluddy hell.
You mentioned pips by saying he’s going to derank, which means he doesn’t have enough pips. Please don’t rush comments too much.
just said it’s not very bad, considering mories do a better job and their apart of the game. Just saying it’s a lose lose situation but should in the end be worse for killer wasting more time in the end, with survivor mainly missing a average amount of 15k bp if at high rank.
just to be clear it is unfair, but not overly broken compared to other things. If a killer did this every game it would be a problem, but that’s not possible and a rare one off. To me you’re blowing it out of proportion. Some are happy like myself to sit there and just get a free pip and help my team by keeping him there. As I have enough bp as well. So even one off chances can effect people who want it making it a even less overall % of a problem.
What do you mean only considering my experiences? I haven't recalled any of my experiences with body blocking at all, and region is irrelevant, as almost everyone, in every region is affected by the lobby bug where you're being queued up for 10 minutes as survivor and 20 seconds as killer, and neither your experience or mine matters as this is someone else being affected.
"The killer WANTED to do this, he probably put a show on, watched youtube knowing for a fact the survivor can't do anything about it, knowing he's going to derank, and knowing his going to get 5K point" This is in reference to the killer doing what they're doing and knowing the killer themselves will derank with 5K points, knowing the survivor can't do anything, showing that he clearly doesn't care about rank or points by choosing to do this, maybe you shouldn't rush comments so much?
I'd rather be moried and move onto my next 10 minute queue than have to wait out 10 minutes, then to queue for 10 minutes, they don't do a better job at what this killer is trying to accomplish at all, which is waste survivors time.
If I was wraith i could 100% force this situation every match, it's just a standard gen gen spot, you can put speed addons, move right in and stand there and theres nothing the survivor can do, this isn't a "one off" especially if this person is intentionally playing wraith to do it, but who knows, why randomly choose to block someone for the entire match, seems very intentional to me.

You’re bias now. You take no account of other people’s regions or matchmaking queue times. For me it’s the opposite. The reward for survivor is the pip depending on the rank, at least a black pip. You say the survivor will depip ignoring everything I say. If he does this gens should be done in 3 minutes or so. So you’re talking outa your аss sorry. I’m trying to have a productive conversation.
What bias? Because I don't think blocking someone in a corner is fair I'm biased? I never even mentioned pips for the survivor because they're irrelevant, survivor don't queue up to be trapped for 10 minutes to die to the entity, somehow you think that's negated by the fact he might black pip and earn 3K points for his 20 minutes wait + gametime, lmao.

no I just see it both ways, you’re complaining for the op and anyone affected, but in reality it’s not even a bad thing when you’re rewarded either way and killer isn’t. You’re stuck in a mindset that he doesn’t care but yet he cares to troll in the first place. If he wants any little salt he needs red rank and you just refuse to accept it’s a inconvenience more for him after a few games. He’s doing something so stupid that he’s practically trolling himself.
how is queueing up for 10+ minutes as a survivor to have a killer body block you in a corner for 10 minutes a "reward"? The killer WANTED to do this, he probably put a show on, watched youtube knowing for a fact the survivor can't do anything about it, knowing he's going to derank, and knowing his going to get 5K points. I don't see how you can swing this to be remotely positive for the survivor when a killer doing this, by their choice means they know all the "consequences" and has decided to do it anyway. Especially as killer queues are instant, and currently killers are getting ranks from from 1 - 15 regardless of their rank, so his rank, especially now, doesn't matter at all.
-
@DYNAMICskills7 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1116231#Comment_1116231
But since skill matchmaking isn’t fully out it goes off of rank mostly still. Like i Said it depends on his target range still. If he really didn’t care, After a while he will just end up so low a rank no one will find him and noobs just get a free escape leaving one to black pip or even pip at such a low rank with no benefit for the killer but wasted time....
Again, if a killer is intentionally playing like this, they don't care, they are doing it to waste others time, he can AFK and watch a show until match end, the killer doesn't care.
I honestly don't get why you're trying to defend the person playing like this, you seem to know the person got more than what is stated, are you the killer?
-
@DYNAMICskills7 said:

Not getting notifs about replies now either. Main point was he lied most likely for more sympathy and it does punish the killer a bit to have someone just black pip. It wastes both people’s time, killer a bit more. To say killer doesn’t care isn’t entirely true, once he deranks a bit he needs to get back what he’s lost and his aim could be higher rank swf groups. Depipping a survivor from trolling just really isn’t possible unless you’re leather face. Or have no swf.
I don't think you understand, IF someone chooses to play this way they ABSOLUTELY do not care about how many points or what rank they end up at from doing this, or the time wasted as it was THEIR choice to do this, it is not a punishment to derank in this game, as rank is irrelevant, it means nothing, even the devs have said it doesn't show skill

By looking at the picture I know you were able to do the gen and on the other side of things the killer is the one that depipped.
Killers that do this don't care about pipping, saying depippjng for a choice he made is somehow punishment doesn't matter.

This post is more delusional than a schizophrenic patient. What a load of crock.
That 70% stat you keep mentioning was before the ruin nerf (meaning they most likely don't have the same kill rates now), and even the devs themselves told you ######### lot to not draw conclusions from them.
There's a difference between "drawing a conclusion" and stating what the stats say, I'd love a clarification but I'm pretty sure when they said "Don't draw conclusions" they meant "Don't say spirit needs nerfs just because this chart says she's good". Presenting the evidence as it is (Every killer over 50%) is not a conclusion, it's a fact based on those stats, saying that Freddy/spirit needs nerfs because they're so highly played with good kill rates is a conclusion.

Object of Obsession
Honestly there is nothing in this game that doesn't immediatly just make my mood drop faster than seeing 1 or 2 survivors in a single match running OoO. The moment it even exists in the match my hopes sink into the pit of my stomach, and then I just play like a bot until the gate's are powered because I already feel like i'm not going to have any power that match. Last time I ran into this disgusting perk was when I played trapper, and if I chased the obsession they simply safe looped for 2 gens, when I tried to ignore them, they followed me around the map disarming all the trap I tried to put down. I don't normally run add-ons on killers, but damn it would of been good to have that add-on that injured survivors for touching your traps. It's the most broken perk in the entire game, and i'm surprised it still hasn't been touched by the devs.
Rancor
It's a really bad perk! Not like bad for the survivor, but bad for the Killer! It does what? Get you one killer, but you play the match with effectively 3 perks? The part I don't like is that when I see it while playing survivor - I know that I'm going to be the only kill this Killer gets. I don't expect it to be nerfed or anything, because it's incredibly weak. It's just annoying to go against.
My favourite with rancor is seeing a killer forget they have it and hooking the person for their first hook at end game, I guess they may be wanting to bait out more saves but who knows?
-
Record & Report.
You can report at the end for unsportsmanlike behaviour, then you can submit evidence to the website below https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Select on the dropdown box - Additional player report information
As a caveat, the developers don't count this as taking the game hostage, as there is an end to the match providing your team mates do gens, however, if the player does this repeatedly, the developers may eventually do something
-
How would you change NOED? I've always liked the idea of adding a "token" system to it, whereby it wont activate unless x amount of hooks are achieved, too. The only issue I have with NOED is players that camp with it, they camp super hard, and what are killers answers to combat camper? "Do Gens" so you do gens and inevitably get hit with NOED because of it, I don't think you can reasonably takeout all totem & do all gens before the first person has died.

I have a major problem with anything that grants survivors too much time. DS and DH are the two worst in that aspect.
I'm not looking to argue however, I do believe there are other things you can do while you either slug the DS user or not chase them at all, there's other survivors (I can accept this is an issue end game, however) and I do think that DH is so easily bate-able that it isn't a worry (at least for me).
Thanks again for the input, I think we'll have to agree to disagree, though 😊

@JC316 said:
Deadhard and DS. Deadhard is too versatile with invincibility and space. DS is basically 8 minutes of godmode if all 4 survivors have it, plus it's a free escape if used when the gates are open.
While I do disagree, I appreciate your input, thank you!

LOL of course you can bring scary to a game!
No, you cannot bring scary to a game people play 100's of hours, if you watch a movie 30 times you're not going to be scared or jump at the same things again, but when you're in control of the character it takes even more away from the horror.
-
The game will never be "horror" to anyone with more than 75 hours, which is the majority of people playing, gore in video games quickly becomes nothing once you see it 100 times, you can't bring horror to a game that is continuously being played for, especially in online games where the killer is controlled by a human.
Additionally, I always see certain players ask for more darkness etc, they brought out dark outfits for characters and killers went mental over it, so much so they went and made them all grey instead of black, so it's unlikely we'll ever go back to the dark/foggy atmosphere we once had, which was by far the "spookiest" thing we had.
-
Pig is honestly a fantastic killer, great fun to play, I would recommend checking out Scorpionz on twitch, he's a pig main, has multiple accounts with 1000s of hours on her and he messes around a lot in games and still lands 4Ks often. People are just too lazy to learn killers now-a-days.
-
This is essentially Vanillas DDOS/Bot protection, sometimes when you go to a website powered by Cloudflare you'll get a similar pop-up, it's harmless and sometimes necessary to negate downtime.
-
It sure is fun af to play against and play with!
-
I think cross progression / cross-play will be something they'll announce during the Year 5 Livestream. It's been in two seperate surveys now, there's been some naughty PC players who have been able to force themselves onto the PS4 servers and played along side console players.
Only a matter of time I think.

I don't care about hangmans trick lmao? You acting like I'm making threads asking for this buffed perk to be nerfed...? and you can slug, just not for very long, if you have a team chasing you about, down 1/2 and then hook another, it's not rocket science.

Ahh here we are again with "what if every survivor is absolutely perfect and does nothing wrong and is running all these perks" yada yada yada, slug, dodge toolboxes in lobbies. I play more killer than survivor at the moment, it's not BS I just know how to play the game.

what if no other hook is nearby? sometimes the nearest other hook is further away than what you can make.
you live in some weird bubble in which 2.5 second sabotage time is okay, this isnt related to skill. because they would just follow the killer to find the next hook and do the same there.
I'd love it if more survivors followed me as killer, would be the easiest game of my life, and if they aren't running toolboxes they can only sabo one hook per minute, if multiple survivors are following me about and saboing, that's even more survivors not doing gens and putting me into easier chases, oh the horror of it all!
-
@[Deleted User] said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1110998#Comment_1110998
So let me get this straight. A high rank killer has the ability to stop picking up a survivor mid animation and freeze time so that he can get the survivor that breaking the hook in front of his face to hit him so he cant break it which is 2m in front of him. Got it.
If a survivor is dropping a hook in front of an experienced killer I can guarantee that experienced killer is turning around and going to the next hook, additionally if a survivor is dropping the hook before the killer has even stood up they're saboing completely wrong, sabo really only works if you sabo the hook when wiggle has started, 16 seconds is plenty of time to turn the heck around and find another hook, lmao.
-
When you start recording evidence of it to help with the issue instead of making thread after thread which doesn't help at all, all these people complaining about sound I guarantee less than 5 people have actually recorded some footage of it to help with the finding, or submitting builds, maps, killers it's happening on, the issue is sporadic and hard to pin point.
-
@[Deleted User] said:

They literally were wiping hooks in front of his face before he even finished the pick up animation
How exactly does rank affect that
Rank effects it because any killer under rank 10 would hear the notification and immediately go to another hook, if you think experienced players don't know how to deal with things more than less experienced players then I don't know what to tell you.
-
This isn't a very accurate measurement of anything, first killer was rank 15, second killer was rank 15, Last killer was rank 20.
All fairly new players, playing new killers, with new mechanics... these players wouldn't have done well against any sort of seasoned players.

Arma 3 is an example that lets you test DLCs. Not everyone plays DBD on PC to have access to the PTB. I have no idea what you mean by "plenty of ways", other than shards which are going down the drain here pretty soon. At least refund my bloodpoints.
My mistake, I meant to say that there would be plenty of videos & content to watch, and again, splinters stopped with pig and haven't even been working lately so I feel people are just complaining because they're taking something out, and not because people actually use them.
-
Splinters haven't been a thing since the Pig, I don't get why everyone is getting up in arms about it now?
Additionally, everyone saying "You can't test the killer before you buy it", how many games let you test their DLCs before you buy them? Additionally all killers are subjected to a PTB on PC, so there is plenty of ways to see how the killer is played, what the killer does & see what his strengths and weaknesses are, additionally, you can at least (eventually) get their perks through the shrine.

I don't think people run cosmetics for the hiding purpose unless they are stealthing. This is definitely not a stealthing outfit. I just figured if I was gonna say they should change it i should mention at least an idea of how.
I would still wear them because I main Feng, but that depends on of the outfit lives up to some hype or not.
Thats true hopefully they do stand up a bit. It's plausible they could change it to stand halfway up and then be floppy. At that point the outfit would still be shorter then most male survivors.
I wear all the brightest outfits on feng, I still hide behind objects, ears poking up would totally deny that.

The ears to be at least more bunny like. The concept was cool, but if they can't at least make the ears look good to let you resemble the concept idea then at that point it's just 2 random pieces of fabric. They should of added some height to the ears by simating wire inside them making them stand up a bit.
Then no one would run the skin because your ears would float above every object lmao.
Additionally, these are just their store pictures, they could very well be stood up more in game.
