I think op has the right idea but conveyed it wrong. Sure the egc isn't used for pressure but the killer should be able to pressure doors...which they currently can not.
Maps are becoming smaller, gates are spawning on the same wall, killers are pretty fast, it would become impossible for survivors (who have finished their objective btw) to escape if doors were regressing, especially against nurse/billy/spirit/the blight etc etc.

And? English teachers everywhere have been telling authors what they meant in their writing for centuries.
Killers - "This anti tunnel perk does more than anti tunnel"
Devs - "That's because it's not an anti-tunnel perk"
Killers - "Ok but it's an anti tunnel perk"
Not quite the same lmao.

Your counter makes no sense and is completely out of topic. I was talking about the devs
Not really - this is about players deciding what things are and disregarding what the devs say, so it's entirely reasonable for me to point out how killers don't make valid points sometimes too and we should disregard them too.

Except many of them clearly have pieces that don't need to be linked, like Jane's new outfit. They could do sets of two but don't.
Honestly, they probably aren't making as much off of these sets because most people simply won't buy something they can't mix and match with the cosmetic pieces they already own. Most people want to be unique and show off their own style and creativity. They don't want to have a cookie-cutter outfit.
I'm sure there are plenty of people like myself who liked one or two pieces of an outfit, but didn't buy it because it was a set.
Bhvr ######### loves numbers, so when their numbers eventually show that people aren't buying these sets as much as the other cosmetics, they'll stop making them.
The whole "money" angle doesn't really work for me, obviously they sell outfits (like they have for 2 years) to make money, Fengs & Davids, who I see way more often than Jane wasn't a set, it was simply a set because it was a dress, same goes for Clown, his neck is literally connected to his chest via the chin, would look awful mixing and matching that.
-
@bubbabrotha said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1563428#Comment_1563428
I said the ones that could obviously be mixed. Onis sword on the minutour outfit, clowns getup in the Hades outfit, pyramid heads last two sets,
"onis" is a legendary, and changes the character, while I agree the sword could and should be able to be swapped out, the rest of the outfit changes his skin colour entirely and would look weird af, the hades outfit, have you actually looked at it? The chin and head are connected and mixing and matching those would cause clipping issues with every other outfit he owns, it's a completely different body shape, and the pyramid head is a special case due to being a licensed character and have had to keep to whatever Konami wants them to keep to.
-
@bubbabrotha said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1563425#Comment_1563425
I mean the sets that could obviously be mixed with others.
Sure, take Janes dress and mix it with other clothing, then they get thousands of bug reports of the dresses clipping into other outfits which they then have to fix, or make the dress ugly af just so it matches with other outfits,
Or take the Nea set, and have all her other hairs clip inside the hood so everyone complains about the clipping issue etc etc.
-
Uhm - they've never stated they weren't doing them "for money", but the sets that have come out would have pretty dubious mix & matching with other outfits, the clipping and issues they would have with other outfits would be an issue, and is why they're sets.
For what it's worth, the majority of people I know who buy outfits, buy the whole outfit anyway, the sets probably aren't making them any more money than selling the outfit in pieces.
-
@Squirrel_Thicc said:
Money
Not really, Davids & Fengs are mix and match, and they have (at least from my experience) far more people playing those characters than Jane.
It's because it's a dress and I guess the devs are kind of bored of fixing clipping issues with skirts / dress tops because of mixing and matching odd shaped outfit pieces.

Uh huh, so if the overwhelming majority of the game sees and uses it as an anti tunnel perk theyre all wrong cause thats not what it was designed to do? That correct?
It CAN be used as an anti tunnel perk, nobody is saying it isn't, but that isn't strictly what it does.

wow its almost like things are used for things they weren't necessarily designed for, I dont care if it wasn't desinged to be an anti tunnel perk thats what it became. And asking the people who play the game proves nothing and the devs are always right is a pretty dumb way to go about anything.
Isn't that the issue "I don't care" of course you don't, because you want to be right despite being wrong.

Hey quick question go ask anybody who plays this fame why they run ds and tell me what they're response is. The devs also think clown is a good killer but that people don't know how to play properly so again take what the devs say with a grain of salt, they dont all seem to communicate things with each other very well.
Hey, did you know that things can be good at something without being specifically designed for that thing? A spoon cuts things on a plate pretty well but was designed for scooping food, not cutting it.
Just because something does something well doesn't mean it was specifically designed for that task, like i said, multiple times, the community gave it the anti-tunnel descriptor, so asking the community will result in them saying "I use it so I don't get tunneled". The developers (you know those guys, I think, right?) they said it's not anti tunnel.
and yes, there are also players who think nurse is the worst killer in the game, or that spirit is hard to play etc etc, so asking the community proves nothing.
-
@4scoreand7skinsago said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1563373#Comment_1563373
Thats cause baby killers don't know how to slug properly or they run into a lot of small pp builds.
Ok but still - the term "anti-tunnel perk" is a descriptor given by the community and not the developers, so the fact that it does more than just "anti tunnel" is fine imo.
The same for the gates the developers have specifically said, many times that they don't want EGC to be forced upon survivors unless the killer makes the action to do so, as EGC was never meant to interrupt survivors going for saves, or pressure them into a time constraint, it was specifically added to make sure survivors weren't holding up in the exit gates or sneaking around the map for 20 minutes.
-
@4scoreand7skinsago said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1563365#Comment_1563365
If its not an anti tunneling why is it only useful when your getting tunneled. If the killer goes for someone else then your pretty unlikely to get any use out of the perk unless 1 of 2 things happen, 1 you intentionally run into the killer to use your second chance perk, or 2 your team is getting demolished so hard the killer is able to down and hook multiple people in the 60 seconds since you got unhooked. Both are countered by slugging.
Well if you read the forums killers are complaining about how the timer lasts too long for it to be an anti-tunnel perk and that it does more than being anti tunnel, despite the anti tunnel aspect coming from the community and not the devs.
-
@4scoreand7skinsago said:

I mean the devs still say ds isn't an anti tunneling perk so I mean take their word with a grain of salt sometimes.
And who's to tell them differently? It definitely does more than anti-tunnel - just like they said, they've never called it anti-tunnel except that one blog post they put out when they changed it, the perk descriptions has always been ""There's nothing to be scared of." — Laurie Strode". It literally implies you'd have no fear and do things you probably shouldn't in the face of danger.
Also quite comical
Devs - "hey guys, we're adding EGC to prevent survivors taking the game hostage"
Players - "actually no, this is meant to pressure survivors"
ok lol.

I disagree. Being able to 99 the exit gate is no different than when survivors could originally do that with hooks. It was a completely broken and unfair advantage given to the survivors. Such an exploit prevented killers from being able to hook the survivors. Survivors shouldn't be able to disable a hook with a single tap of a button, nor should they be able to open up the exit gate with a single tap of a button.
Now I will say there's nothing wrong with choosing to 99 the gate as I feel that should still stand as a valuable tactic, BUT if you choose not to open it, then the gate should regress. And telling the Killer that the only way around that is to abandon their objective and open the gate themselves isn't the answer.
You can disagree all you want, the developers of this game have stated many times EGC was only meant to end the game and not pressure people.
and 99ing hooks are so completely different from 99ing gates I have absolutely no idea how you could even make that comparison, and a survivor isn't tapping a gate, someone else has been on that gate to get it to 99.
The EGC is only meant to make games end, it is not meant to pressure anyone survivors have already completed their main objective, if you haven't killed any and are struggling at end game because of 99d gates that's a you as a killer problem.
-
EGC was never meant to pressure survivors in a way that effects their choices, it was only added as a means to make sure the game came to a definitive end and prevents survivors from sneaking around the map once all is said and done, there is nothing wrong with 99ing gates, if you don't like 99d gates you should open one yourself.

- Doesn't justify the perk lasting for 60s
- Doesn't apply to the perk being active really
- Fair counterplay, but stacked with unbreakable still doesn't justify the perk being active for 60s
- irrelevant since I don't use mori's anymore
- Also irrelevant since skill checks are literally a base mechanic that can be mastered within 3 minutes of learning the game
And survivor's can choose weather they wanna use the remaining time of DS to be invincible on a gen! Ik I sound entitled af right now, but the reason why I believe the perk needs more of a severe risk is because how it can literally affect that course of the match!
- Actually it does justify it, any shorter and it would 100% be done by the time the chase is over, you want to call it an anti-tunnel perk, right? If it doesn't last long enough for a tunneller to be wary of it then it isn't an anti-tunnel perk :)
- Then the point of no gens being done doesn't apply to pop goes the weasle being active :)
- If killers want to claim chases last too long, but also want to claim that they're always being hit with 60 seconds of ds then which is it? Killers love to make believe that everyone is being ran for 5 gens but think 60s, so you either want the perk to be useless because every chase is super long therefore it would be deactivated once the chase is over, or you admit that chases don't last nearly as long as most killers want to make out.
- Ahh yes, "this point doesn't matter because i don't use moris", yaaaa, tell that to the rest of the killers
- All your PGTW points are irrelevant because it literally ties into kicking generators which of course takes absolutely no amount of effort besides a button press, there are also perks that affect skill checks, there's nothing stopping a killer kicking a gen besides that cheryl perk which even PGTW has a longer timer than.
Killers can also choose to stop a chase to kick a gen etc etc, ds is fine and mostly avoidable, only change it needs is something in end game, 2x speed skill check sounds fun :)

Deliverance won't be on every character you want to play as that has your best set up.
Luck offerings are 99.9% pointless.
And so would saving survivors if they had a 60% chance of pulling themselves off, 4% is fine, play with a team if you want to be saved.

It matters, because the killer is not eliminating one survivor. As long as its 1vs4, the survivors will win. If it 1vs3, the killer will win unless 1 gen is left.
If you deny the option to kill someone, then the only option left is playing 1vs4. Which is an easy task
What does that even mean? There are plenty of people that play without tunneling, no wonder you're so scared of it, you must see every DS activate every match, of course you would want it nerfed as it would heavily benefit your style of play, lmao.

How is that an argument
How is "If survivors just do gens they win" an arguement? If someone gets saved, and the killer is on the other side of the map chasing someone else, how does that unhooked survivors BT / DS / UB even matter?

If you face survivors who do gens, you're not gonna win with fairplay and alternating hooks.
Don't think I've ever faced a team that just don't do gens, that's (at least from what I've heard) their objective.

- Equip DS, BT, UB and another second chance.
- Get tunneled and use those perks to genrush OR
- Dont get tunneled and genrush anyway
- ?
- Profit.
I dont like tunneling, but second chances have waaay too much impact when going off. If killers had 4 Corrupt interventions to equip from, we would see similar complaints. If survivors cant work on gens due to using 4 perks, it would be really easy playing killer at high ranks.
- Equip DS, BT, UB and another second chance.
- Killer chases the unhooking survivor and your DS / BT / UB don't get used
- ?
- Profit
-
@MigrantTheGreat said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1562168#Comment_1562168
PGTW Risk
- All gens are regressing or have no progression
- You don't even get to hook a survivor because the survivor's were doing good in their chases and did gens
- The killer you're playing isn't mobile/agile enough
- After hooking a survivor you immediately get into another chase
As I said to the other person, your looking at the 1v1 and not the 4v1
DS Risks
You don't get tunneled
The other players get chased the entire game so you never get hooked
You get slugged for the timer
You get moried
You miss the skill check
If you're a killer that never gets to activate pop then you're simply not a good killer, someone with DS doesn't determine when it goes off because the killer can simply ignore it, the killer gets to CHOOSE for an entire minute when to knock 25% off a generator that's being worked on.
-
@MigrantTheGreat said:

1. Actions speak louder than words. 'Most' players use DS for anti tunneling, with all do respect towards you idgaf what BHVR says about DS simply because the community has a better understanding of the game than BHVR does.
2-3. Still not a valid or balanced reasoning on why the perk should last 60 seconds.
So for the perk to become active killer has to do their job, downside is that it's a 1 time use perk. Here's the important question. Where's the risk? Thats why I'm saying healing and touching a gen should deactive the perk regardless of the killer. 'YOU' were confident and sure that 'YOU' weren't being tunneled so 'YOU' put 'YOURSELF' back in the game
"Actions speak louder than words" lmao what? They designed the perk, no matter what the community calls the perk it's BHVRs right to state what it is, not the players, you can call it what you want but it doesn't mean it's right.
You can slug & chase other survivors during this 60 seconds, I very rarely get hit with a DS unless I KNOW I'm going to get hit by it, I ignore survivors who are unhooked constantly, sorry that you struggle to keep track of survivors you have hooked and been unhooked.
What do you mean "Where's the risk?" Wheres the risk to using PGTW, where's the risk to enduring, where's the risk to many perks? The risk if you get slugged or you never get to use the perk at all, or you miss the perk, or you never get saved, but sure, let's nerf the super easy to avoid perk, the only instance this perk needs changing is end game, and even then I wouldn't say that's warranted due to how easy it is to kill survivors during the match.
-
@MigrantTheGreat said:

So why is it ok for you to be invulnerable for 60s when you've
Been healed to the healthy state?
Able to touch a gen?
If your able to do 1 of 2 or both of these things, than the perk doesn't need to last 60 seconds because it's obvious your not being and that the killer is pressuring someone else.
While DS isnt a so called anti-tunneling perk (yet it activates and it's counterplay is anti-tunneling) is it still ok to be invulnerable for 60s with NO DOWNSIDE OR RISK?
- The only people to consider the perk an anti-tunnel perk is the playerbase, the devs have only ever once referred to it as an anti-tunnel perk when they wrote up about the change to it, it was only referred to as such BECAUSE the player base uses that term so frequently.
- Being healed does not mean you aren't being tunneled, there are multiple things that can speed up a heal and sometimes, if you know the killer is tunneling and you have the necessary tools to heal someone -hopefully- quick enough it can be the right choice to heal, stealth killers also don't alert the survivors of their presence so you can sometimes start a heal without even knowing the killer is there
- The same goes for generators, I get unhooked, run to the closest gen, killer / stealth killer are immediately coming back to the hook, find you on a gen, despite other survivors blocking for you they still go after you = still tunneling.
And there are downsides to DS, it's a perk with requirements to activate, you can only use it once, you can MISS using it, and you can just be slugged, which a lot of killers do just because there's an obsession in the game.
-
Yea I was going to say, if you didn't know already they're making a game that essentially competes with DBD, I don't think it's likely we see any resident evil cross over, unless Resistance fails miserably and they shut the project down then maybe there is hope.
-
Only someone who doesn't really understand DBD all that well would compare this to SWF.
You can kill survivors, you can't kill the killer, the advantages this would have compared to what "advantages" swf has would be incomparable.
-
More killers talk about stretched res than the amount of players that actually use it.

As far as I can tell, there is no way to message anyone - the only conclusion I can come to is he's adding them on PS4, and messaging them on PS4 & they're trolling him by saying they're on PC because he thinks he's adding PC players.
I'd love to see how he's messaging others though as I've seen several threads & several friends suggest a messaging option.

They can take the money used for paying artist and allocate it to the dev team to hire more competent personal.
That's not how development works.
Each game is developed differently, and have certain nuances that trained developers know how to utilise, pilling in a bunch of untrained developers, who don't understand the game or it's community and you have a way worse situation.
You can hire developers, but you can't just hire Dead By Daylight developers, there aren't any besides those that have worked (or no longer work) with dead by daylight.
-
It's the same for both sides unfortunately, there were a string of threads for a few days after crossplay was enabled where it was just "Wow, PC players sure are 'insert insult here" without even acknoweldging that the globe doesn't = PC player but just crossplayers in general.
TL;DR both sides are talking mad trash on each other.
-
Tapping is fine, especially when you have perks like PGTW that remove 25% of a generators progress that is earned by playing the game normally.
-
I've always wanted realm themed shack + basement.
-
Can you tell me what update made the game easier for survivors? Out of curiosity and reading the patch notes I can't see anything that's been added in 2 - 3 years that's suddenly made survivors easier, the only major change that would have affected gen speed was Ruin and that's a perk that's never ever been mandatory.

Even if the killer is trying not to tunnel you can still use DS as a safety net for borderline suicidal plays.
DS is also used in 87% of red rank matches if I am interpreting this correctly. (And on average when it IS in a match, there's usually 2 DS's) Funny how Hex: Ruin being used in 45% of all matches and over 80% of red rank matches is justification for ♫Hex: Ruin being ruined and it'll never be the same again!♪
Theres a distinct difference between DS & Ruin Though.
While the hex was up, it was ALWAYS in use, you can have 4 survivors in a match with DS and it never gets used.

Its an strong aNtIMOmEntuM perk imagine I dont you being healed becuz you dropped a pallet same do feel killers who play fair.
Imagine a stealth killer, and you don't know they're coming back to tunnel you, your team mate who just saved you tries to heal you, oh no, no DS, killer is free to tunnel.
It's entirely unrealistic to disable a perk based on whether you start to heal, starting to heal DOES NOT mean you're not being tunneled, nor does doing a gen, especially when it comes to stealth killers.

So, what happened to the "hit and down the another 3 survivors?" You know that a killer can only chase one person at a time, the unhooked will have DS so I wouldn't touch him as long as I don't have a advantage on the match, so I'll go for one of the other 3, then chase him, then down him (after 20 to 30s of chase if he's healthy) by that time the unhooked will be sitting on a gen for 30s. If I go "apply pressure" on him, he'll sit there 'cause DS will still be up. If I go "apply pressure" somewhere else, he'll still either be sitting on the gen untill DS deactivates or will go for the unhook.
Down someone and chase someone else, it's really not that hard? I never said chase 3 survivors at once, but if all the survivors in your match have DS active you're a god and shouldn't be complaining about this at all, lol.

And again, ignoring the part in wich you can do by yourself 90% of a gen 'cause the killer know you have DS up, so you can sit there as nothing will happen to you. Dude, I don't even need to guess if you're a survivor main or not, the entitlement is strong on you.
What entitlement? Because I think a perk that's one time use and has requirements shouldn't be nerfed? lmao ok buddy.
When I play killer I very rarely if ever prock a ds unintentionally, if you can't remember who you've hooked, that's your fault, if you don't slug someone who you know has DS, that's your fault, if you're letting survivors YOU KNOW you've hooked do "90%" of a genenerator because you've failed to apply pressure that's YOUR fault.

"Requirements". Dude, if the killer don't hook you, you'll never need DS #########? The problem ISN'T the tunneling part, wich is fine, the problem is a minute of immortality where you can sit in the killer's face and do 90% of a gen by yourself and the killer can either eat the DS or let you go free to try apply pressure somewhere else.
Or you hit the survivor and down them? You know there's only 4 survivors in the game, it's insanely easy to remember who you've just hooked.
and yes, if you don't get hooked you've played with 3 perks the entire match and still haven't been caught, so that sounds like a killer issue to me.

Sir, you need to calm down, I never said we were better than anyone? I'm assuming I've probably played this game what, 2/3/4x the amount you have? Ask any PC player, there's barely any hackers, why would they be so cautious to hack against other PC players and then suddenly blatantly cheat against cross play user? lmao.
Also, 2020 and people still don't read, i didn't once say there were no cheaters, I said I've faced less than 15.
