God I hate this stupid take, devs don't favor one side or the other they are incompetent at worst but they don't play favorite.

And for the love of god are you defending the old jungle gyms with TWO pallets and TWO windows, all loops with two pallets, DS on everyone without condition, old Bnp INSTA POPPING a gen, insta healing behind pallets and insta blind with 2 charges ??? Like, there is a human playing killer you know, he is playing the game as well, it's like if survivors had death immunity, hook immunity, anything immunity and it was removed piece by piece and you were like ",I CANT BELIEVE IT THE DEVS ARE SO KILLER SIDED" Holy hell dude.

No, not defending it, but pretending that survivors have never been touched to try and say that the devs favour survivors is ridiculous when you can list off a dozen nerfs to survivor, granted they're all warranted but if they really favoured survivors that list of things would be half as long.

Just because it happened 2 years ago doesnt change how much of a screw up it was. It just further proves the devs dont know how to balance their own game. Hell how long were flash lights OP? It took Kote himself getting his ass kicked for them to realize that.

It's been said time and time again the Mcote thing have nothing to do with it and they were planning the change for a while, flashlights are still as powerful as they were back then except you have to time your blinds now instead of not having to time them because you hadd an insta add on, one update from 2 years ago doesn't prove anything and the fact the only thing you have to refute the points I made was a fixed change then you've got nothing else but your own bias carrying this "devs hate killers" train.

Against people who didn't play optimally with a killer who's lightyears above most other killers. Again, what about people like me who refuse to learn the more intricate killers, am I stuck with Freddy and the probably soon to be nerfed Pyramid Head?

Yes, you said it yourself, you refuse to learn them, that's like me complaining about dying when I refuse to learn how to loop, every killer has a different ability and you should ideally learn them all, I can't play often as killer because my lobbies are like 15 minutes atm but I 3/4K with killers I hate, I'm literally dreading this next tome because I don't like or play hag, but I played her at rank one yesterday and managed a 4K, they weren't the best survivors but with every killer going "all survivors at rank one are boosted" how are y'all apparently losing so much? You're either going against world class players and getting beat or you're going against boosted survivors and should be winning a lot more.

    "Just pressure gens dummy"

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DggcHI1boFM

"Wait, why is nobody playing michael myers, clown, piggy or the other lowtier killers outside of challenges."

I have a very high killrate for somebody who only has about 400 hours as killer, on old freddy I had a killrate of 90% (scummy playstyle yes, but no moris) when I still actively played this game beyond a casual game with friends. The difference between you and me is that I understand that a survivor being a derpy potato that gets hit within 10 seconds of me finding him and gets downed within 30 seconds is a potato, not me being some gamer who was able to hold m1 so the auto-aim or "aimdressing" downs the survivor for me that falls to the easiest mindgames.

He ended with a 3K what's your point?

  • @Valor188917 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1476151#Comment_1476151

It's not, because this game is casual as heck with not enough rank disparity. Even at rank1 you'll either face potatoes, people trolling the ######### out of each other or ppl doing dumbass challenges or ppl like me who will simply go for the BP grind.

Especially killers will tryhard more regularly because they have nobody to goof around with.

Killer was never hard, it's always been the same gameplay, heck DBD is not hard in the first place, it's a game made for people who'd usually sit at home and play ######### like walking simulators as can easily be seen with the original gamedesign where it was literally impossible to win against a survivor with a functioning brain to the extent where they released the nurse.

Once you face competent survivors who's sole goal is to escape even if somebody is left behind you'll get a 1k at most.

I first hit rank 1 in 2017 when the game was actually survivor sided, it's nowhere and not even close to being what it was back then, it's easy mode now, I think the issue is a lot of people see this game and think it's bully simulator where you get to come in as killer and murder a bunch of people easy, but it's not like that nor should it ever be, and then they get mad when they can't, sure I agree, if you're going into a game with the mindset you just wanna escape it's super easy to, you avoid killers as much as you want and ignore saves, but as a killer, if i want to come in and ruin someones game i catch them, hook them and face camp them, both sides have their "this isn't fun at all" sides.

  • Yea, if we're allowed to call up updates from two+ years ago I'd like to introduce Joshy to the Nurse, the strongest killer in the game who ignored everything survivors had to use against killers and they didn't touch her for three years, that's just their survivors bias showing clearly :P

  • @Valor188917 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1476125#Comment_1476125

Maybe you should play killer against them if you're so confident that you could beat them. Oh, they're not bothering anymore because again, the devs are fully aware of the balancing this game because doing anything else would kill DBD in less than a month.

Any decent killer knows that unless you play nurse or spirit, the game is in the survivor's hands, it's simple math calculated by the devs so the game amounts most of the time to a 2k unless survivors get downed next to each other.

Nah, the game is super duper easy my dude, has been for a very very long time, bad players are likely to always be bad, especially when they spend all their time on the forums complaining about hypothetical maths equations that assume the player is bad because they can't pressure gens

  • It's the one where if you flashed or pallet stunned a killer at any point during the pickup animation it would drop the survivor at the end of the animation, it was an entirely stupid update but was reveresed within 4 days.

The scary part is the devs were the ones who thought it was a good idea.

    WAIIIIIIIIIIIT LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Your entire arguement is based on a patch from 2 years ago with a change that was removed after 4 days? So you can't refute anything I've put but post a change that was undone within 4 days. Yes as there's no point, the experiment would be the same if they decided to use perks to accomodate for the changes. Now with ruin having been reworked they'd probably even have an easier time now.

Palletvacuum is gone but we have way more pallets now often within reach with sometimes ridiculous safe setups where 2 pallets are right next to each other and temporarily even spawned doublepallets within jungle-gyms.

They never used instaheals etc in the first place.

Infinites are gone but were never needed in the first place for the experiment with gens being done in up to 5 minutes there were always enough ressources on the map.

The original experiment was done with no perks which was unrealistic in the first place, scottjund managed to even kill 2 perkless itemless survivors, the changes to survivors done over time would never make up for not having perks.

Lmao way more pallets? Jeeze, I'm gunna end this conversation now because first you're telling me they redid the depip swaud but with perks, but it was one game you posted against a rank 12, then you show me some solo stats where marth got rinsed into oblivion and the killers pipped /safety pipped 80 out of 81 games, now you're telling me there are way more pallets and that they'll use perks to compensate for the nerfs, lmao, you're iving in 2018 dbd bud it's time to practise getting your killer on.

  • firefox 26-07 1595726767.png

That video is a year old... and he went against a rank 12 huntress ??? Hardly anything to go by lmfao

The last 100 gamees experiment was done in 2018.

After the game you posted (bottom right) there are no following "depip squad" games.

    firefox 26-07 1595727002.png

    An Edit to your edit:

a 70% escape rate is not high, condering from rank 20 to rank 10 is going to be against insanely new players.

    firefox 26-07 1595727320.png

Did you even check the stats? lmfao

oh and not to mention these terrible terrible first gen times

    firefox 26-07 1595727419.png

and for the record a solo escape means nothing when it could mean that his entire team died it means nothing.

Just look at the history of patches. It's pretty clear the devs favor one particular side.

That side being rank 20 survivors who havent bought all the cosmetics in the store yet.

Yes the "history of patches" where they nerfed pallets, windows, exhaust, ds, "infinites", bt, map sizes, bnps, flashlights, slight nerf to coop gen progress, great skillcheck nerf, healing nerf etc etc

and what did they nerf on the killer side, the nurse, who is still the strongest killer in the game if you put the time into her, the spirit... still one of the strongest killers in the game, oh and billy, which we'll have to wait and see on.

Not to mention the reworked freddy, now one of the easiest killers to master, massive doc buff, massive leatherface buff

oh sorry they nerfed ruin as well, which clearly hasn't change mucch in the game because I'm still seeing killers constantly 3/4K without it.

Yep, they sure do hate killers and pander to survivors.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

Remember, this game only cares about the survivors having fun. Not killer :P

Remember, if you're bad at the game you'll never have fun, and will probably make up things like "The devs favour X", when in actuality, they don't.

  • You should run Pop with freddy instead of Ruin because he can TP to any gen and demolish it without the survivors finishing it before you get their, lullaby is pretty bad too, that being said this isn't a fair matching but they are currently working on a new MMR system which should (if it actually works) make matchmaking fairer, we'll have to see on that front though, I'm sure if you keep playing you'll become better and these differences in rank wont matter that much

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1475609#Comment_1475609

What is the point of your argument here after depip squad proved that all it takes for survivors to escape the trial is a team of people who will not play for fun but hold m1 and not play altruistic. It's pointless to discuss this because nobody plays like this, 99% of people play for bloodpoints and you don't actually win by escaping.

The only point I was making is that you will always at least chase a survivor for 20 seconds on a non-stealthkiller unless he's a complete potato basically running into you.

The game is very different to what it was 2/3 years ago, the game is not the same, and depipping/ pipping is so incredibly irrelevant, why is a measure of the games balance based on whether you got enough points in red rank to keep your rank or depip, explain what the logic of this is?

You definitely shouldn't be pipping at Red Ranks that often anyway, the higher rank you are, the harder it is to rank up, if you're already rank 1 you shouldn't pipping ever really because you're playing against people who have also played enough that month to hit rank one, depipping someone does not prove the game has a balance issue, especially not with all the changes that have happened since that "experiement".

  • @Valor188917 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1475560#Comment_1475560

Except the killers were some of the best this community has to offer (not that it would've made a difference in those..."chases") and the chases still took what people here call optimal chasetime while the survivors just went down like a sack of potatoes using no jungle-gyms only 1 pallet and in kate's case not even running for max distance who instead tried pointless mindgames. If I want to win as a surv I'll just tell my team to predrop pallets and sit on gens but again, nobody plays like this in the first place because this is not a competitive game where you just go for the "win"

Again mostly talking about the ludicrous "maximum chasetime" that people are talking about here that are just not realistic against ANY survivor who is an actual gamer instead of a soccermom trying to relax and get scared in DBD.

Again, Tru3 played VERY badly at the start of his match, he made a lot of mistakes trying to get hatchet throws, and Scott intentionally handicapped himself with a killer not many people think is viable, these matches would have been over way quicker had neither of them done what they did, and even with all that they ended up getting above average kills.

Too many people are attached to gens being done, it really doesn't matter, how many times have you 3/4K'd with 1/2 gens left? probably a lot right, so why did those 2/3 gens being done matter so much? They didn't, at all, survivors can't really do anything unless all the gens are done so I don't get why there is this big thing around preventing survivors getting any gens done at all.

  • I'm really hoping they just remake his power, it's kind of boring and all they can really do is an addon pass or make his smoke slow down survivors drastically and that doesn't sound fun at all.

  • @Valor188917 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1475393#Comment_1475393

I wasn't proving anything, the topic was chasetime not general gamebalance which is known for being tilted towards survivors if they dont play for fun as was basically confirmed by McLean.

But this game is far from as simple as this post makes it out to be, this post basically implies the killer is bad and can't shut down chases fast, which if you're looking at it from that angle, you can also look at it from the angle that all the survivors in the match are just bad all chases are 10 seconds long and therefore the game is killer sided because the survivors played poorly.

  • @AVoiceOfReason said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1475297#Comment_1475297

@SenzuDuck It's meant to help their teammates do gens if so a survivor can't off themselves in the first 10 seconds of the match. If you want a button to suicide with only 1 person left and you're hooked, I wouldn't be opposed to it but there shouldn't be on in the first 10 seconds of the match.

Or just let people suicide? You either let people suicide or they'll just throw themselves infront of the killer and be dead ASAP anyway, I don't get this obsession to force people into playing something they don't want to, especially in a game that's so obviously casual.

  • Gen rushing doesn't exist in all honesty, unless you have an obvious totem there is no reason for survivors to do anything else, and it's already significantly easier than it ever has been to 4K, any mandatory increase of time the survivors have to spend in game is a flat buff to every killer, including the top tier ones which just means they'll need to be nerfed in order to not be opressive.

  • @Valor188917 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1475378#Comment_1475378

Because the survivors are derping around. Because Holding m1 is neither the main objective nor is it fun, as a survivor I either go for challenges or for BP

So what does your post prove? Tru3 played incredibly poorly at the start of that match, and still 3Kd, Scott Intentionally handicapped himself and still 4Kd, so I guess killers can still be bad/handicapped and 3/4K it's just that easy man.

  • @Valor188917 said:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQomQu_e-KI&t=0m55s

About 30 seconds and no down.

Tru3 is not experienced enough for you? How about Scottjund?

https://youtu.be/v8XcQoJHauA?t=13722 even downing this ABSOLUTELY terrible kate takes in total 20 seconds even tho she is playing as bad as possible.

Depip Squad already showed that if you just piss out gens and split up you'll win so this isn't new.

Tru3 still ends up with a 3K on Huntress on Haddonfield which is a terrible map & killer combo, and Scott was intentionally running a meme build which means it would have taken him less than 20 seconds had his chainsaw not had the addon on it which removes the insta down ability of it lmfao.

    Not the best examples.

  • While that is true, the poster said "Give us skill checks here and there so no one can suicide immediately" which is a clear indication that they don't want that to be possible unless you just force miss skill checks which would 100% give the killer enough time to find hatch.

  • Bruh, killers used to dodge based on clothing & items, killers will percieve what ever they want as an advantage, even if the team is solos they still dodge constantly.

  • @SpaceCoconut said:

Outside of gameplay mechanics, the visual effect they were going for was that from other ghost jumpscare movies where a character sees the ghost at a distance and then it's instantly right in front of them.

Visually, this is the effect and experience they were going for.

Getting rid of the husk eliminates this effect.

What would you want to give the Spirit in exchange for being able to tell when she phases? We're talking about balance afterall.

Balance doesn't mean you have to give and take at the same time, not saying spirit is OP, but if she were it would make little to no sense to give her something because they reduced her power, that's not balancing at all.

  • It creates survivor stand-offs for one, last person on hook, other person finds hatch and signal (t-bagging/repeated pointed) that they've found hatch and now if the survivor wants to let someone escape they aren't they're forced to to stay on the hook until sufficient skill checks have passed that kill her, significantly increasing the amount of 4Ks because survivors can no longer opt into sacrificing themselves so one can escape.

and if you're lucky enough to be on a hook while everyone else is downed etc you can no longer give up if a survivor is hiding well enough that the killer can't find their slugged body, you then have to sit there until your time is up, when I play killer I rarely see hook suicides, I think this is just another thing that is being blown out of proportion, I agree with the change of spamming etc but you need to give survivors a "hold E to die".

  • Devs said multiple times that hook suiciding didn't increase when DCing Penalty was added, people rarely kill themselves on hook and I think preventing people doing so would be far more unhealthy for the game.

Not sometimes, most of the time

The game is "balanced" for the same side to loose most of the time.

How is that fair or fun?

And the game doesn't explain any of that. In fact its all to the contrary. Every aspect of the game is harder for the killer to play and he is still disadvantaged by team and balance. No wonder killers leave this game in droves

i very rarely get anything less than a 3K and very rarely see the killers i watch get anything less than that too, killer players just haven't improved and expect 4Ks lol.

  • @emptyCups said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1459574#Comment_1459574

Occasionally yeah. But every 3k means a 1k game has to Ballence it out. Every 4k has a 0k. 3k is still a loss.

With a 50% average killers loose more often then win and survivors survive more then they ever die.

    Aka

    Live by daylight

ohhhh noooo killers have to lose sometimes? :(

The ranking becomes harder the higher you rank up, so it makes perfect sense to safety pip the majority of the time in red ranks because you're supposedly going up against the best, far too many people rely on this pipping thing as an example of winning when you're not supposed to constantly rank up when you're at the top unless you play exceptionally well.

  • I'm sure you assume every chase you lose to is stretched screen lmfao

  • @emptyCups said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1457436#Comment_1457436

Being fair, data can be read anyway we like.

So to be generous pretend that 60% its not SWF.

I mean you still face SWF every other game... or you face swf every game and someone else faces two solos in a row... matchmaking isn't perfect and you'll have random mixed between players.

On ps4 where I play even if its not swf I chat invite everyone I play with during loading screen... and most people join or invite me to there chat if they are already swf... thats common for console at the very least

Then look at the kill data...

if its a perfect read the killer gets a 2k every game... so he looses almost every match because that's what 2k is by every metric ingame (i know survior rulebook in the forms tell me its not, but my bp and pips and entity tell me otherwise)

? Or he wins once and then looses twice in a row all that does is show me most players live.

50% Or at the very least twice the survivors win for every killer that wins

    Sounds fair lol

Do you know how averages work? The devs said an average of two kills per game is the sweet spot which leaves plenty of room for 3/4Ks lmao.

  • @emptyCups said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1457098#Comment_1457098

Those stats say it...most of all players are swf

Take that solo number and chop it down for each tro and duo

Then cut it down by 4 after that and that cut number is the number of games of full solos... everything else aka almost all the time its swf.

Yea how can anyone cope against a 2man.

I swear it's always "swf isn't a problem it's those 4-man squads that ruin it" now we're back to it doesn't matter swf is op. lmao.

  • @MeatBycicle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1457129#Comment_1457129

Data skewed? What are you talking about? Do you not understand how these numbers work? Let me break it down this way, you have 100 people who play basketball, and out of those 100 people 98 of them are complete trash and have never played before in their life, the last two are professional players in the NBA, and you ask every player to score 3 pointers only for lets say 100 shots in a row.

After everyone shoots you put out a statistic saying that "people only make the 3 point shot 20% of the time", yet those professional players were making their shots way more than 20%, but their overall number is being brought down because of the people running the numbers including the other 98 peoples stats with theirs.

Rank 20 - 5 don't matter. Red Ranks is really all that matters, and that is where you see a majority of SWF.

Ahh yes, but then we'd have to remove any SWF that includes a rank 6, or an swf that includes a rank 8, rank means nothing in this game past level 10 lmao, insinuating that rank 1 - 5 is something special is absurd.

  • @MeatBycicle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1457098#Comment_1457098

That is exactly what im talking about, that only shows general SWF. We want to see red rank only.

So you want the data skewed so it only fits a certain narrative?

The issue is, when these stats were released killers swore blind players played with their low ranked friends so they could "bully" low ranked killers so when these stats were released that shouln't have mattered.

Around 7/8% of the player base being a 4man is astronomically low 1 in 12 games you get to use the excuse that you only had a bad game because of SWF.

It's literally a legendary skin, it's the same as the others that were released. They CAN change the character. Idk what ur on about.

No, legendary skins DO change the character, sets are linked pieces it just so happens that every legendary set will also be a set because you can't splice two different characters together so it has to be a set.

  • @MeatBycicle said:

They wont show it, the same reason they won't show Red Rank SWF percentage and Red Rank SWF escape percentage compared to the other ranks.

They already did, the stats didn't line up with what killers thought it was, and was therefore deemed fake, like any other stat the devs release that don't show how "oppressed" killers are.

    9877B8P6DP23.png VKQ73IWNH91J.png

This data is across Every Player On Every platform.

this data is either 1 / 2 years old though and i suspect it's mostly out of date I would say SWF has increased but there were just as many (if not more complaints) The game has only become easier for killers since then aside from the ruin change but that clearly hasn't had a devastating effect on the game at all from what I've seen in stream etc.

translation: there is simply no way they go through all reports.

no way. Not without an Ai - I realized this after sending in 20 minute vids as proof because they need entire match, and copy pasting error code? No way human eyes go through all that.

All of my reports have ended with bans though, and not every report will result in a ban on steam record, could be temp in-game ban, there's no way to tell from our side whether it's their first offence or not.

and also, a lot of reports will just be "player t-bagged" "player face camped" etc and can be immediately dismissed.

  • Welcome to the game dude, it can sometimes be a pretty harsh learning curve but you'll figure it out, there's lots of great content creators and tutorials that you can sink your teeth into (if you don''t already) but we're all happy to have you, good luck in the fog.

  • They could just do an "Ash" on us and drop a random survivor under the ghostface DLC that Torbert & BHVR cooked up, maybe a map too? Who knows.

But yea, I feel it'll likely just be a skin.

  • They have a relatively small amount of people and they get A LOT of reports that need checking, especially if evidence is provided, the IDs of reports as far as I can tell are sequential, here I have two reports, 5 months apart, and a whopping 67,259 reports between those 5 months.

Unfortunately, this seems to be more an issue with Sony/MS & Licensing - hopefully BHVR can get through what ever legalities they need to make this happen, I assue (which obviously isn't the case for you) most people that are wanting to switch are wanting to go from PS/Xbox to PC.

You can't hooked that person due to the timer of Ds. That a slug crawling to the exit they are closed to. Don't get me wrong soul guard is pretty much unbreakable mixed with mettle of man.

You can down the person who saved the person who has DS.

Soul Guard only lets you pick yourself up when the killer is running hex perks and you're cursed by it, the prerequisits for this perk to work seem fine imo.

  • Hey, maybe check this video out by Scott Jund, it's a helpful showcase of some of the generic tiles in the game that may help you in chases, also - some loops are designed in a way where you have to break the pallet in order to continue that chase, don't be afraid to break some pallets, Secondly, if you're in chase with a survivor and they vault the same window it should be blocked by the entity, if it isn't I would suggest recording a video of that window so the devs can look into it.

  • The fact this got upvotes shows how little the people on this forums actually knows this game.

You don't have to tunnel someone to death, but you can certainly tunnel everyone off hook at least once to try and put them straight back on.

  • I honestly don't think, in my 5000 hours I've ever been hit with 4x DS in a game, the only way I see this happening is someone tunneling heavily.

  • Oh I like this one, it's where we pretend every survivor brings in BNPs and balance around that.

I think we should balance around the idea that every killer brings in a mori :)

Some killer mains say mories are fine because they're ultra rare, every killer mains says keys are too strong.

One whole gen for 3 ultra rares, lmao.
