  • I think it's a difference in platform. Console players or people on controller have very different movements from what I've seen. A mouse is a huge and accurate advantage over it. It doesn't make killers sweaty, it's just better accuracy.

Linked skins is the word you were looking for. A legendary skin would almost completly change the character

It's literally a legendary skin, it's the same as the others that were released. They CAN change the character. Idk what ur on about.

Legion to me just seems like an unfinished, unfulfilled Killer. The problem everyone’s been having is that Legion’s power is really complex and difficult to perfect.

That's why I feel like they need to just drop the current power they have, and roll out something new. The killer concept is four people, they could definitely do a lot with that. It just takes some creativity.

  • When the Legion first came out, it was hell. They've definitely fixed them though, buuuuuuuuuut I'd still like to see them changed. I'm just not satisfied with their current state and I feel like there is SO much potential with them.

  • @Deadeye said:

I hope they don't do too much with Legendary Outfits. It has to be a good reason why you are not allowed to combine certain cosmetics. Alessa for example would be no problem to combine, I think the only real reason for this to make it a Legendary may be licensing.

On Lisa Garland it makes sense because the whole model changes, including the face, making body and head cosmetics being sticked together. Gender switch would probably be a good reason, like on Legion, although even Legion is able to combine cosmetics and have the voice and stance adjusted, only depending on the torso cosmetic. Also understandable would be the design on the cosmetic being hard to combine with others, like the Bunnies. But also here, the Clown elephant cosmetic is able to be combined with other cosmetics.

So "Legendary" outfits in first place are just restrictions from player perspective, there are not many reasons why Legendary outfits actually make sense. And combining cosmetics is I think a key argument for their success.

If they made legendary cosmetics interchangeable, that'd be amazing. But I was just going off of what I've seen so far. They could definitely make some things interchangeable easily. Like trappers masks on a legendary body. Weapons. Small things like that.

  • I don't have a problem with vaulting as much as I do with dropping pallets. I genuinely feel like the hit box is free to killers who swing through pallets, even if they're stunned. We're stuck in an animation, that will even pull us back a short bit if you bait the pallet. SO yes, the animation definitely screws us over.

  • I really want to see a Killer that's almost feral like the hag, but on all fours. There could be some real horror with that concept.

  • @Alify said:

Actually, I would really like to play on all the map with different weather conditions, but I don’t quite understand how this can be implemented normally on closed maps, but the concept is counted and it would be really cool and unusual!

Red forest already has light rain. They could just add ambiance of a storm, and make grass/props shake in the wind as if it were a storm. Lightning and thunder effects would be really cool too.

Edit: It'd also be super interesting to see weather offerings too!

  • Even with latency being an issue, the survivors are forced into an animation when dropping a pallet, where they will STILL stun the killer but get hit at the same time. An easy fix (if latency is the MAIN issue and NEVER could be the hit boxes) would be to make it so survivors don't get stuck standing in an animation when throwing a pallet, and instead have free movement as they pass by it and drop the pallet. They did it with window vaults, I'm sure it can be figured out with pallets.

  • The hit boxes have been garbage for a while now, you can go in a game of kill your friends and stand very closely around a corner and still have a hatchet hit you when you aren't even moving. Even when latency plays a part in it, THE HIT BOXES NEED TO BE TOUCHED UP??? Why are you defending it so hard dude? Do you enjoy getting easy hits?

  • @Golden_spider said:

Someone could benefit from learning what Latancy is.

I'm sorry but when a survivors hit box can be hit from behind a wall by a huntress hatchet, I'm pretty sure the hit boxes could use SOME touching up. Thank you.

You have to pay an entry fee and the chapters really add up. I bought all the DLC on PS4 and bought it all again on PC later. That is quite a bit of money. I have also bought some cosmetics. New chapters and expensive cosmetics are still incoming. Fine.

But then you hit me with a battle pass? Absolutely insulting. This is a free to play mechanic in a very expensive game. So, what appears to be a significant investment in this game is certainly not enough.

It's not just you, I feel the same way. They try their best to point out how dedicated their players are, say they want to reward us for spending time in the game, but when it comes to a quests mechanic they throw in a Battlepass, putting all the valuable/interesting things behind a paywall. Yes, it's 10$, I have spent a lot of money on the game already though, and asking for more is the slap in the face. I get you can make the Auric cells back but it's not the point. A Battlepass didn't need to find its way to Dead by daylight, and these new cosmetics could have been integrated normally with the store we already have. If we needed to pay? Fine, I'd rather the individual items be put in the store rather all of them behind 1000 Auric Cells. YES, It's worth it, that's the POINT. They WANT you to buy it, that's why they locked it all up behind the currency. I don't understand why the people who support are getting so worked up with backlash about it, micro transactions have always been something people disliked, and we don't need to be enabling it. I was looking forward to doing quests for cosmetics that I actually wanted, not paying for them.

  • Imagine buying a game, base game is there, but then the rest of it is hidden behind paying or grinding. So you pay and grind, buy some cosmetics along the way. THEN! THEN! Wait for it. Boom they add a battlepass, and all the good stuff is put behind a pay wall. Yes, it's affordable, but that's beside the point. It's another micro transaction, and it's one that a free to play game such as fortnite or apex uses. If they REALLY wanted the money they'd be putting all the items in the store individually for us to buy, and even then I'd be okay with that because I could choose what I wanted, and not feel forced to pay for the battlepass. They aren't FORCING me to buy it, but they sure did put all the good stuff behind the 10$ it takes to get the majority of new items they decided to release all at once. And whats bad about it is normalizing micro transactions. They were already in the game, we don't need more ways to fit them in and make the game a advertising simulator. I feel like I've spent enough money for one game.

  • @HorsePower said:

So you're mad you have to spend more money even though you already spent over $100 on DLCs and cosmetics? Very interesting.

Yes... That's literally the point. Baiting players into buying more things by putting all the desirable items behind the pay wall is a HUGE slap in the face. It's a tacky tactic used by FORTNITE, APEX LEGENDS. DO THESE FREE TO PLAY GAMES AT ALL RELATE WITH DEAD BY DAYLIGHT? No. I hope you understand where those of us who dislike this battlepass are coming from. I don't care that it's 10$, or that you can earn the Auric cells back, it's just the fact that they put ALL of the good stuff behind a pay wall.

@Spork This isn't Koei charging 3.99 for character portraits that were in the last game, this isn't Battlefront 2 having loot boxes for game altering perks, and it sure isn't 2k's casino fiasco. You're making an issue of something that has no bearing on you at all. They're cosmetics. If your will power is so weak that a simple device like a battlepass will have you enslaved, then you have bigger problem then DBD.

These are still micro transactions, there isn't a way to defend it to make it any less disappointing to me. I own all the dlc's, I've bought a handful of cosmetics, I just don't appreciate them adding a new micro transaction to the game, it's becoming too common. It's not as drastic as other games but where will it stop? It doesn't need to be something developers should be getting comfortable with. I'm glad my opinion was strong enough to bring you here though, thanks for sharing.

The point is when is enough enough? They have 2 lucrative sources of income with the new chapters and cosmetics. They are now implementing a 3rd inspired by free to play games.

Refreshing to see you say this <3.

  • @UlvenDagoth said:

.... are we really complaining about a company getting more money to keep the game we love alive?

More micro transactions. Support them if you want, but I for one will not.

  • @SinfulHarlot said:

@Spork Not to put you or any of my DBD peers down, but I think when it comes to financial decisions. Behavior probably knows what's best.

I can't seem to understand why you hold such disdain for something as small as exclusive cosmetics.

If you read my responses to most of these comments you can maybe start to understand. It's also very upsetting to see a lot of people supporting micro transactions, when they've been so controversial recently, and for good reason. Dead by daylight was the LAST game I expected to see a battlepass in, and I find it very aggravating. I understand the argument of them needing help financially to keep the game up and running but they're releasing the game on even more platforms, and as I said earlier, the full price for cosmetic outfits are higher than any of the dlc asking prices. The game is getting old and tired, and all I'm wanting is for it to feel new, not more ways to pay for stuff.

  • @UlvenDagoth said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/747207#Comment_747207

Though, would you rather they run out of money and stop being able to give you the game you like? Most of it will be free or come in the store later. Calm down.

I'm sorry but I find it hard to believe that after having a cosmetic store that has outfits priced higher than any of their dlc, and releasing the game on multiple platforms still requires them to add a battlepass in a game that I would have never expected to see one in.

  • The saddest story is that these tactics have become popular in a lot of games today, and people like to enable it. There was nothing wrong with the cosmetic store that we have, and these new charms did not need to be the cause of another way to spend more money.

  • @SinfulHarlot said:

@Endstille Why are you so negative about something that takes nothing away from you and that you can ignore? It's not like this was done in place of balance changes. If anything, it was done to extend the longevity of the game.

There are plenty of things the community has brought up on these very forums that can be done in place of a battlepass.

  • @leaara said:

When they talked about it in the stream, they said that it wouldn't be a "pay to win" type thing. They made it sound like the cosmetics you could get with the premium side would just be reskins of whatever was on the regular side.

My issue with it is that this isn't really a game that needs that kind of content. Between Auric cell packs and DLC, they keep getting money from us on a pretty regular basis. I'm stoked for the concept of the Archive - I think the base idea of it is something the game can benefit from, but I don't think it needs to have a paid version. I would rather see it be a series of more difficult challenges for us to complete so that we have to work harder to get the reward rather than pay to get it.

    BUT MONEY!

They didn't blindside anyone it was expected way in advance

Salty? This was nothing but positive feedback, why would I have a reason to be salty? I am very confused.

  • Not just licensed killers though, which IDEK if they could even adjust that stuff without going through a whole process. I'm talking about their own original killers, the base music is all so BLAND, and the game is so boring now. For years its been the same objectives, same music, same thing. CHANGE IT UP. Give it a new feel! New music would do a lot more than people think.

It'd be an interesting change but it's not much different than using Bond. There's not much to just being able to see the Obsession the whole game.

Your right, its not mandatory for killers. Same is true for survivors though, you don't have to have both, but if it being useless or taken away mid game worries you either skip it or back it up. Just depends how many are going to run it every game. Same as killer, you have to plan around the most common choices.

Forcing a Survivor to use Decisive Strike if they want to use Object of Obsession, because if they don't and they're not the Obsession they can't use it, is a bit of a stretch. It's past being a combo like ruin and thrill to make your chances of using it better, you just flat out CAN'T USE IT if you're not the Obsession. It's not a good change.

Its the first time we are seeing survivors needing to run a partner perk to ensure effectiveness/use. Killers have similar nessecity for totem defense with toth. You want to have a strong effect and worry about it being taken, equip the additional perk.

Killers aren't required to run any perks for one to work though, Ruin can be effective without Thrill of the Hunt.

If you don't use DS, and someone else does, you have ZERO access to the perk.

OOO was almost as toxic a perk as DS.

3 seconds into the game and you notice some tool teabagging you from the other side of the map, telling his buddies on discord your location. Awful perk that got abused badly and probably needs a nerf of its own.

I had to stop and reply to you before reading the rest of the peoples comments below you.

Stop being sensitive. DS was genuinely a bad perk, being able to see someone bm'ing isn't the same.

  • @redsopine01 said:
Yes but this also means u have to waste two slots now for when the obsession dies to keep using it

Which is why I think it's fine where it is now, and they need to just leave it alone. But now that I think about it, someone above said that one person in a SWF's group could just sit in a locker and abuse it because the Aura reading isn't shown, SO, I guess the change for it needs to be that lockers can't hide you while using the perk.

But if you were to make a win loss ratio for survivors instead of just checking if you personally enjoyed the match would you STILL count it as a win?

And if you escape but also depip would you count it as a loss?

If someone managed to escape and depip, I would personally count that as a loss, yes. But that's just my opinion.

Some Killers play rather harshly SO, gaining a pip when someone has been sweating on you would seem like an achievement to me.

What about a killer 4king but still depiping? Did they lose?

And in both cases why does the tutorial say otherwise? (both cases assuming that you consider the killer example a loss)

Managing to depip and killing all 4 Survivors wouldn't seem like an accomplishment to me. I don't think any Killer would be very thrilled about that. It'd also mean a lack of bloodpoints. A lack of currency as a reward for winning? That's a bit odd.
