Soul guard and head-on are widely used for good reason.
lmao, no, they aren't.
Soul Guard I've never seen procked against me once, and head on isn't used because it's good, it's used because it's funny to stun the killer when they don't expect it.

^ this.
Also, Devs are totally against Killers and released a very strong and fun Killer with decent (and one of them Meta) Perks just a week ago. Damn, those Survivor-sided Devs!
Honestly really happy with the last meta perk survivors got 3 years ago with the release of David King, they sure are giving those survivors all the useful stuff.

You are super delusional, or you're playing a different game and extremely confused.
Definitely not, I've got 5100 hours in this game, it's definitely super easy as killer, and my survivor lobbies are about 30 seconds compared to my 15 minute killer lobbies.
-
Survivor queue times are faster than ever.
The game is also the easiest for killer mains it's ever been.
-
My favourite part of this video is where you missed two hits and said "The game is literally rewarding her for her mistakes". That did give me a chuckle.
-
Yea, because the rank 20s that want to play the teleporting killer will absolutely tank her stats.

We all know what their addon reworks and "slight" nerfs are like.
Huntress will have literally nothing useful and PH will be f tier after the changes :|
Yea, they sink killers.
That's why nurse is still the strongest killer in the game, it's why spirit is still second strongest in the game, and billys changes are barely noticeable

I used to buy whole sets - even if I didnt like all individual parts - mainly for the discount and to have the option. Even if they soft locked the sets so you had to buy the whole thing but could equip the pieces individually I'd be behind that (legendary sets excluded for obvious reasons).
This screams that theyre trying to profit off things like Ghostface - as his mask rarely changes between outfits.
So locking cosmetics together to prevent severe clipping issues = money grab
but forcing players to buy entire sets just to equip certain pieces wouldn't be? lmao

I haven't seen anyone say they want her hoodie to be able to work with any head, they want to be able to use that head on other outfits, since it caused zero clipping itself.
The back of the head was bald, people only ran it because it was a funny bug not because it looked good.
and again, all I'm doing is explaining things, I agree that most of the heads & killers weapons don't need to be locked but I also understand why they're locking most things.

From what I've gathered ever since these sets came out, people care way more about being able to customize their characters then they do about clipping.
That's cool and all but I don't think the devs want to have nea running around with her hood up and her hair clipping through the outfit the entire game, most clips happen during certain animations etc, this would just constantly be clipping.
-
@SleepyWillo said:

TheyIterally patched it so people couldn't use Neasden head on other cosmetics - that's where I have an issue. That hair wouldn't have caused issues elsewhere. None of the hairstyles would.
"None of the hairstyles would" But you're talking about using a head independent of the rest of the outfit, so I don't see how hairstyles would have an issue with another hairstyle because you can't have two on at the same time.
and yes, they fixed it because if you can do it with that outfit you would be able to do it with other outfits, again, I'm just explaining things, I'm not saying I agree or disagree but I understand why they've done it and also realise I have the choice not to support the game by buying those sorts of things.
-
@ProfoundEnding said:

I think most people are okay with that. What we're not okay with is locking the head.
Ok?
All I'm doing is explaining the difference between sets and legendary outfits, nowhere have i given whether I agree or disagree, but I also understand why it's done.
They constantly try and fix clipping issues, the thing with this is, you can't fix it, so you just have people constantly complaining about clipping that you can't fix.

Like we've never had clipping before? I struggle to think of any Feng cosmetic that doesn't clip someway...
I don't see why they can't at least do head and body or for killer body and weapon.
Its just lazy and anti consumer imho
What?
I think you're just angry at the devs, how is it lazy? They fundamentally have a system in place that they've been using for years, how is locking cosmetics together done out of laziness?
As for anti consumer... You know it's locked together, they announced the locked together thing before they even started doing sets... you don't need outfits to play the game, at all.
-
@SleepyWillo said:
We've never had cosmetics that don't clip in one way or the other. I don't think people care that much about small clipping tbh. It just seems like a cash grab (or cover up for one company demanding their cosmetics be sets - but even then I wouldn't mind that so idk).
I bought the Lisa cosmetic but having seen whats happening im not going to be buying many more cosmetics (definitely not locked sets)
It wouldn't be small clipping, take Neas hooded set for example, imagine the hood clipping with her other long hairs, it would look horrendous.
Same goes for clowns set, the head and torso are basically connected by the huge fat chin, imagine how weird those seams would be on other outfits.
-
People keep misunderstanding this.
Legendary outfits change the character you're playing as, this means every legendary is a set.
Sets, however, can be an outfit for a character that are locked pieces.
Every legendary is a set, but not every set it legendary.
The reason for Kates outfit being a set is because it's an entire dress, if the dress were cut into two pieces, the torso and legs, there would be horrific clipping issues with her existing outfits, therefore the outfit is a set.

You entirely missed the point.
So a spirit has less of a chance to hit someone out of their ability because she has to find the person or know where they are, the blight wouldn't have to do this.
You entirely missed the point.

The spirit can't see people while using her ability, the blight can. they aren't comparable.

Here it's like £5 for 500 cells, so £10 for both, or like £6-7 for the full dlc. Additionally, in your scenario, you save about $1. 17 chapters, that's $17 saved. Might not seem like much but to some people it's a blessing.
Also, if you buy the full DLC you get an additionaly, albeit very simple alternative colour for the survivors usually. Used to be a full set of pants and shirt but now it's usually just a shirt recolour.

They also admitted that they count DC as kills because if they DC'ed they must have considered the game a loss anyway.
Which is flawed, because many suicide on first hook or DC at first down simply out of idiotic raging, whereas had they remained in the match and not screwed over the other three, they might have turned it around and more escaped.
That kill rate data is flawed to hell and back.
Peanits said in a comment somewhere that DCs weren't even included in the last set of stats.

Dang I must need glasses because yet again I cant see where I said It happens more than 10% of the time, nor can I see where I said it should be nerfed. The 1/10 chance of them having both perks is pretty flawed since only survivors who have either perk would make a bold play like that. Killers who see survivors making dumb plays right after they got off hook have to leave them slugged, like getting unhooked and running to another hooked person or jumping on a gen next to the killer, thus making value out of DS by even existing in the game. Some survivors don't even need to bring unbreakable because they rely on the killer just picking them up and having them "tunnel". This happens quite often.
I see survivors stay on gens without ds or UB all the time, heck I do it, I don't get why you're implying only survivors with DS commit to gens.
Also no, killers don't have to slug survivors at all, ds is only an issue end game, if a 5 second stun is the reason you lose, you were going to lose anyway.
-
I mean, I think tunneling is a problem in the sense that you'll probably never get better if you keep doing it, with that being said, if a killer wants to tunnel, they're going to tunnel and that's all there is to it.
Toxicity is thrown around far too often, tunneling is annoying but I wouldn't put it anywhere on a scale of toxicity.

Yes. When you press space, you pick up survivor. That's how caging animation should be as well. Press LCtrl and animation starts straightaway. The idea of holding LCtrl for a second or so is unnecessary and only makes the system clunky.
They should do it for mories too I guess in that case, you press the button, you're locked in and then it takes out the clunky hold to do x.

Ok - I find it odd that your QOL is punishing players for running perks that they want.

Iron Will, I think it's probably the perk that saves most people in Dead By Daylight, those thousands of times you've been a metre from the killer, or on the other side of a wall to a killer, injured... one moan would give it all away.

I asked if it applied to killers, you could have said yes - but you instantly went on the defensive, which tells me that yes, you only want to punish survivors for certain perk usage.
This thread was neither Killer or Survivor sided, your instant reaction was to name two survivor perks that should be penalized when used together, you could have simply said " and these killer perks" or "this also applies to certain killer builds".

Good job disregarding the fact that only 10% of people this person faced ran DS + Unbreakable, if you downed someone who you think had DS there'd be a 1 in 10 chance they have UB too, that's miniscule and once again, killers using a "what-if" scenario to try and get perks nerfed.

Well when killers walk to a gen and see a survivor working on it in their face, they know 100% they have it and they just have to slug them and let them Unbreakable in 10 seconds and make the killer role a joke. They just don't want to tunnel, bro.
Sorry that perks scare you this much, the op said only 40 survivors ran unbreakable + ds together. So 10%, a tiny amount, and survivors do gens in killers faces regardless of if ds is active or not, and killers slug and survivors use UB regardless of if DS is in use, just killers trying to make things seem like buggers problems than they actually are.

When did i ever say its good for killers to tunnel? i was just pointing out that DS has a function whether you get the stun or not. There are zero other perks in the game that are as powerful as DS. Its mere existance changes the game.
Now. If you are going to put words in my mouth at least try to make me say something close to what I was talking about.
You literally said killers play differently when there isn't a DS in the game, and I've seen it, they hit the person off the hook and hook them again, as far as I'm aware (I have 5k hours not a lot i know) but that's called tunneling.
It has no power unless it's used, sorry but "there's an obsession" doesn't always mean there is a DS, and if killers play differently and don't tunnel because they're super scared of a 5 second stun that is on them.

Why do people think the power of DS is solely in its activation?
And how is 44% NOT overperforming if, in your argument, it's not even being activated? That's not 44% of trials, btw, that's 44% of survivors, which means almost every single trial has DS value.
and ruin was used in 80% of red rank trials.
you can have 4 people in a trial with DS and never see it being used. the fact killers think people just having it equipped = overperforming.
-
@csandman1977 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1594264#Comment_1594264
DS doesnt have to be used to be powerful. The simple fact that there is an obsession changes the way killers play.
Much like old ruin gave killers too much passive power, DS does the same. By existing it makes the obsession mechanic pertinent and powerful.
Just look at how killers play without an obsession and you see the strength of passive DS.
The perk doesn't do anything unless it's used, sorry that killers who tunnel are too scared to pick up survivors because of an icon but that's on them

""I reliably predict" So you guess when her ability is back, but don't ever actually know whether it is or not."
No. A guess is doing something without any information and hoping it works. A prediction is based on information.
When I see someone get hooked across the map, and then she pops up from phase near me that means she has 0 power. At best, she gets it back in 12 seconds if she has stacked cooldown. Most likely its 15 seconds. Either way, I have 10 seconds to loop or run to a safe tile. If it's something like a long wall jungle gym I can use the window to avoid her phasing. There is no guesswork here, I KNOW what she can and cannot do.
"When you're at a pallet on a loop you're guessing immediately as to whether she is standing still or not, please tell me the appropriate counter to this"
Easy, pretend like she is doing both and play to that. You will see opportunities to escape that would beat both tactics at the same time, making her actions moot and removing any guesswork on your end. Generally speaking, the safest absolute option is windows. LT tiles are actually really great against her if you know how to run them in unusual patterns to bait her to go around or wait for a vault.
If you don't have a problem with DS then why even bring it up? You are literally comparing counting to 60 in your head with counting to 12 in your head. Same ######### thing. Like really what is your point here? I never complained about DS, you brought it up as a comparison, then backpedal to say "oh I don't have a problem with it I'm comparing you to these people even though you don't even share the same opinions". Really what is your point here except to try and put yourself above someone else like some kind of snarky elitist?
Nothing you say makes sense at all.

This is funny to me because you're assuming she'll only ever stand still if she's recently used her power, if she hasn't recently used it and she's standing still guess what, you're guessing, good luck countering this with "count to 12" because you'll never know, by the way, watch the video, she had 0 charge addons and was only a second or two away from having her power, the survivor has no idea if she has charged addons, had she had charge addons her power would have very well been back.
"Easy, pretend like she is doing both and play to that. ... Pretend ... she ... is ... doing ... both? That's called guessing what she's doing, and guessing what you should do, that's not a counter, guessing is not a counter, how does pretending she's doing both do anything? It means you can't vault because she might be faking, and it means you can't run away and make noise because she might actually be phasing, so you're guessing, lmfao.
"If you don't have a problem with DS then why even bring it up? You are literally comparing counting to 60 in your head with counting to 12 in your head. Same [BAD WORD] thing. Recovery add-ons don't give her power back that fast. It would still be on cooldown. And no it's not hard, I reliably predict when a Spirit is phasing or not because I know she doesn't have her power. If I'm not sure, I just assume she is phasing and play to that. But I definitely don't run back to the husk, that's like the dumbest thing you can do here. Literally the dumbest move. In no world is this a smart decision.
If you are guessing against Spirit you already lost. There is only so many things she can do to catch you in this situation. In this video, the ONLY option the Spirit would have to catch her is to just follow her in phase. All she had to do was act like she was phasing behind her and run to 2 story on her right and her chances of surviving just went up dramatically. If she was faking (which she was) then that just buys you more time to make it there.
And you can easily track DS. I do it regularly, it's not hard. Please don't assume that because you can't count to 60 in your head that means someone else can't.
"I reliably predict" So you guess when her ability is back, but don't ever actually know whether it is or not.
"If you are guessing against spirit you already lost" When you're at a pallet on a loop you're guessing immediately as to whether she is standing still or not, please tell me the appropriate counter to this, i'd love to hear your big brain theory
"And you can easily track DS. I do it regularly, it's not hard. Please don't assume that because you can't count to 60 in your head that means someone else can't" What? I think DS is perfectly fine, I have no issues going against it as killer, maybe re-read what I put "Kind of like killers who constantly complain about" didn't once mention myself.
Also, did you watch the video? Her power was almost recovered, if she had recovery addons she would have had it back by then, pure guess work.
Keep up the guess work :)

@thesuicidefox said:

There is no guess.
His power is barely 2/3 recovered. If she was paying attention to her phase she would know this and know she is faking it. Besides the fact that she ran DIRECTLY TO HER. You don't need to guess in this situation. All you need is to pay attention to the game and use some logic. She had 2 story next to her, that building is strong against Spirit, and she could have easily made it to at least the pallet at the front door (IDK if it was still up but still).
Running headfirst back into the killer is the purest example of a player that just has no ######### clue how to play against Spirit, which is like 95% of the survivor population, INCLUDING many streamers and forumers. Spirit literally turns survivors into potatoes.
No, that was guessing, you have no idea if she has recovery addons on or not, expecting survivors to know the exact times on an ability recovery and speed with 0 indication on what the killer is running is ridiculous.
Kind of like killers who constantly complain about not knowing how long DS has left survivors are apparently supposed to know how long an ability has left to recover when it has things that can affect it's recovery speed.
100% guessing and you know it, also "just run to the house" like yea because the spirit wouldn't have caught up with her by then without her power.

For every post that claims “insert killer name here” is weak, and/or...
- can’t pressure
- no mobility
- not viable at high ranks
- not viable without meta perks
- gets gen rushed
...is a player doing well with that killer at red ranks, against tough teams, and some are doing it with meta killer perks, and some are doing it without meta killer perks.
One of the biggest issues this game has is lazy killers.
They want to 4K with every killer without putting time into learning each killers nuances, they want to play trapper for 800 hours and then go and play huntress for 5 hours with the same outcome, people want to be amazing with all the killers instead of being great with one killer and that's just how this game is, it's a game where each killer has a unique power you have to master to always be 4King instead of having every killer buffed to the point that they're braindead for even inexperienced players, yes there are some killers that fundamentally need buffing but not all of them do, not as many as the forum likes to make out.
People complain about gen times etc and post videos of Tru3 talking about it, but scoffed at him saying Wraith is an excellent killer and disregarding the win streak he got with him.
