Again, Stridor only increases your injured grunts when you are INJURED. Stay healthy as long as possible and delay the spirit as long as possible. DbD is not a 1v1 game, it is a 1v4 game, and everybody can be hooked twice. You should be aiming to delay the killer until they give up, not escaping the chase. Escaping is just a bonus.
Maybe read the perk description, it makes breathing louder as well, so it really doesn't matter whether you're injured or not, you can still hear the survivor.
Just don't get hit by the killer that is absolutely zooming.

You aren't supposed to run when Spirit is phasing, she sees your scratches and can easily track you. A better choice is to walk back over your scratches to make her miss. This is much easier since BHVR nerfed her to not have collision with survivors while in phase
and the walking doesn't matter if she's running stridor which almost ever spirit I play against is running, walking is useless, running is useless, especially if you're injured.

It's easier for literally any killer to find you when you're injured. News Flash: it's not a good idea to spend the whole game bleeding all over the floor. Try to stay healthy as long as possible, it is FAR harder for a spirit to track a healthy survivor. Spine Chill is also a very real counter, as it procs from the Spirit's real position rather than her husk. Therefore if the spirit is on the other side of the pallet and Spine Chill turns off, she is probably phasing around to hit you and you should SLOW vault over the pallet. If Spine Chill stays on, she's just standing still and has zero map pressure.
it's literally the speed that she moves which is what matters, as a killer main you should know this, any other killer you have a chance to get to a loop, spirits speed stops this, not to mention if she starts phasing while behind a corner and she still hears you it doesn't matter how easy it is for other killers because she's on you fast.
-
@CosmicParagon said:
There are a few counters to it. You can walk instead of run since she is unable to actually see you, you can run Spine Chill to see if she is looking at you or Iron Will to make it harder for her to hear you(both are solid perks by their own right anyways, so are worth running in general) she also cannot pass through windows in phase, so slow vaulting over one can make a huge difference, along with predropping a pallet before slow vaulting back over it
and then 95% of the spirits I play against run stridor and therefore walking slowly doesn't matter because you're crying and breathing loudly, it counters iron will, and spine chill is a counter? lol.

Cringing heck, what a post lmao.
For what it's worth I queue solo red almost all day and constantly get survivors above rank 10, I don't get the point in this post, the whole queueing with low rank friends to get low ranked killers hasn't worked for a year yet people keep clinging to it for some reason.

Honestly feel like I should add number 1 to the base of the post because that's the best suggestion I've heard yet. Always thought that clicking further in the bloodweb should auto buy, but this is even better
We do need a daily overhaul, though we do need incentive for people to play both sides at all times - if they allowed you to choose a side, they should add a xp/BP bonus to playing the side least played at the time in your region
I wish there was a conversion system both ways - iri shards for BP, and BP for small amounts of iri shards. But considering iri shards give content able to be bought for money I don't think that'll ever be the case
A live map is an amazing idea. Don't know how it could be implemented but I'd absolutely love to see it
Yeah, that or skill checks akin to pyramid heads cages. I've broken two literal space bar keys already mashing them over the years....
Chooseble aura colors are something I'm really hoping for in the near future
Basically the map thing, I can't find the game that did it, but once the match is over it would go to a top down of the map and just have an icon to show where each character is, and then it would draw a line and show where each player was at the time during the match and certain events like survivor going down, and gens popping etc, I think it would be a really good tool to see what you missed especially as killer.,

That it's down nearly 5k since August is kind of depressing, but it doesn't mean much, tbh. I do think the game has some big issues that need addressing, though, otherwise there is a pretty big risk. Also it's hilarious that the game is at its lowest in terms of playerbase during the month that they marketed nothing happening as an 'event.'
This is the affects of the world coming out of lockdown I don't see how people aren't figuring this out, if you look in Feb we randomly started seeing a spike of an extra 7K players monthly, then 10K and it goes up as more countries locked down, and guess what, it's coming down now because everyone is coming out of lockdown.
-
- Let players hold shift during bloodweb purchases to avoid the timer, so you can hold shift and drag through the nodes and it'll auto buy without holding.
- Overhaul the daily tasks or let us pick Surv / Killer challenge for the day.
- Let us trade over Iri shards for BPs without buying the shrine, it's awful and can only be done 4 times weekly, the bloodpoint economy only exists to limit ultra rares, most of which are useless on both sides, most killers would rather run Purps / Greens / Yellow, and all survivor ultra rares are really bad besides the key and sort of the map. Once they rework mories and keys the "bloodpoint economy" is literally just something to limit us for no reason.
- End game live map, give us a top down drawn version of the map, with character icons and show us the pathing for each player in the map, it would give players so much info and insight into the game and will likely give players a lot of experience on things they did wrong, would also be a really good tool for seeing cheaters if a report was made it would give critical info.
- Allow us to just hold a key to "struggle/wiggle" - people who has RSI can't play your game for too long because of the key spamming, they're also very vague on whether macros will get you banned and is making people choose between risking their account or being comfortable
- Let people choose their aura colours, surely there's a way to just let people pick which colour shows up for them, this would help with colour blindness and people with reduced sight.
-
idk man, almost like the entire hecking world is coming out of lockdown and working instead of gaming, or going back to school instead of gaming.
-
Ehhh, hard disagree - survivors actually have to do a fair amount of their objective to use keys to any effective level, the only time keys are annoying is when you they have three gens done and you've killed two, and the other two get to escape, but even then, you've killed two, and two escape, it isn't a total loss.
If you're efficient enough you can have all survivors moried before they can even get two gens done if you play well with the right killer.
-

I'm going have to hard disagree with you here. Just yesterday I was found first downed after a decent chase. Unhooked tunneled then moried. And because I don't run meta ds I didn't get to play the game. At least with keys you have to do 4 gens, which again I don't run. 9 times out of 10 when I get a mori it's a camp and tunnel.
The thing is, DS wouldn't even save you here, you just die on the ground, it's big sads.
-
This used to mean something, but it really doesn't and you just kind of have to move a long with the times and adapt.
This question has been posed many times, and some people think flapping means to come save, some people use it to signify camping, and some do it for fun.
You'll never get a straight answer, and the other three in your match might all have different ideas of what it means, it's best just to check now.

It's funny because whenever someone comes onto the forums and complains about having a long DC timer everyones like "Well you shouldn't have DCd so much there's no reason for it" yet when it comes to something like this, everyones like DC DC DC. I've had a lot of people having crash issues this patch too which is unfortunate.

Doesn't work like that. The Rift and skins are all low cost to make. It's better for them business wise to put these in regardless of what happens, unless the game dies.
Wouldn't work like that even if the cost to make skins is high, the archives are entirely free and whether you pay for the rift has 0 impact on the challenges, besides - this challenge is easily do-able, people have stunned a killer 3 times in tens of thousands of matches before this challenge and will continue to do so after this challenge.
-
If I remember correctly one of the devs said they can't really change it (as sony have stated) unless something drastic in the game happens that would make the trophy impossible to obtain, that's apparently the only reason Sony lets people change trophies like that.

No risk for you personally, sure. Risk for the rescuer and the rest of the team, yes. I don't want to put objectives on hold for someone who just wants to unhook themselves. That puts me at risk, wastes my time, and puts the team as a whole at risk because it slows gen completion and you risk throwing yourself into second stage prematurely anyway.
If you're gonna attempt a jump then do it on your own time when no one is going for you.
You were going for the save anyway, there's a 96% chance they don't kobe, what exactly are you risking? lmao.
I'm trying real hard to figure out how a 4% chance to kobe somehow wastes your time when it's a rare occurrence.
This forum is absolutely mind boggling.

@PurgeTheHeretic said:

I believe the issue is that if you were planning to unhook yourself, go ahead and do it before someone stops clearing objectives and puts themselves at greater risk of being hooked themselves.
Do people even play this game or at least understand it in this thread?
There's no risk to Kobeing if someone is right about to save you, you know you can attempt once and be saved, if you attempt when no one is coming for you then you can put yourself into second phase if you take time away from someone who hasn't gotten off a gen yet.
How. Do. People. Not. See That.

Activation use: in terms of DBD perks, the ability for the perk to activate.
Same effect: similar degrees of magnitude.
:D
Lmk if you need help responding to the other responses you left on “read”
I really fail to understand what you are explaining.
Pop goes the weasel can be activated 11 times, and used all 11 times.
DS can be activated 2 times, but only ever used once.
I don't respond to people who use videos to "prove" something, I see pop goes the weasel being used on generators hundreds more times in a day than I see DS being used on a killer, whether that has any real effect on a match is completely subjective due to how many variables there are in a match, but asking for DS to get the PGTW treatment makes 0 sense as none of the perks have anything in common besides a timer.
-

You’re comparing activation use as if they have the same effect. Not bias at all.
What does "activation use as if they have the same effect" even mean? lmao.
-
PGTW - 11 Activations & 11 Uses.
DS - 2 Activations & 1 Use.
Sureeeeee, that's comparable.

Ormond is tied 8th in size with 5 other maps (there are 17 map sizes between 35 maps) it's not even close to being on the bigger side of maps.

Ah yes, the standard of a person that only ever looks at the game from the perspective of one role. Nice try, troll.
I have no issue winning my games when I play killer, including when Dead Hard exists, but it is an incredibly unfair perk at its core. I also have no real issue winning my games as survivor
If only that were true, I just don't subscribe to the "killer is so hard" club that forum does.
you're the one that said if a good player had dead you'll never catch them, therefore, you only play against bad players with dead hard, as you have no issue winning even with dead hard.
-
Undying does give it to you, sort of.
Say you're effected by Ruin, if you break ruin, and not undying you would stay hexxed.
If you break undying while never being effected by Ruin, undying is gone and won't effect you, until you tap a gen to reveal ruin.
-
@SunderMun said:
Dead hard, imo, is broken strong when it works. It's a crutch for bad survivors, but put it on a good survivor? Yeah, you're never catching that person.
The issue comes from the fact that it means you have to outplay the survivor one extra time per chase, and that's a fair amount of time. Even if it only adds about 10 seconds to the chase, that could be the difference between 2 gens being pressured, and 1.
If this is the mentality you have, that one perk, dead hard is good enough to stop you fromt catching a survivor entirely then it's probably not the perks fault and instead your own ability.
"I hit this survivor once and then they used dead hard, how could I possibly catch them again when this perk is now disabled?"

I disagree. 6000 hours in the game and I would absolutely consider those maps “huge.” Throw in 110% speed killers, not to mention others who have to reload, set traps, crouch, etc. and it absolutely feels like a “huge” map.
ok.

map is about 10k in size, it is big compared to coal tower for example. and the whole point of the post is about the bland grass copy paste thing with the use of breakable walls the killer is forced to make. if i wanted to complain about ormand theres a full list we could go through lol.
There are 35 maps, and 17 different sizes for these maps, Ormond is tied 8th in size with 5 other maps which are Groaning Storehouse, Fractured Cowshed, Temple of Purgation, Family Residence and Sanctum of Wraith, none of these maps are considered "huge" maps.

Pretty sure this was intended, it was leaked a while back that these were added into the game in a different manner than before, and given different names, I don't know why they didn't tell us but I think adding them was intended.
-
Because every survivor has been in the position that a survivor being camped has been, there is nothing more boring in Dead By Daylight than a killer who isn't very good, standing infront of you the entire game and preventing you from playing, so survivors go out of their way to try and get people off the hooks so they don't die with less than 4K BP.

As if the game isn't easy enough as it is, lol.

I reckon you don´t spit at people irl because you lack the balls to do so, so you happily do it in a videogame. Classic keyboard warrior.
And yes, someone hitting me on the hook in DBD is definately the same as getting killed. It´s not BM, it´s actually murdering me. Come on you can´t be that stupid.
Imagine saying someone lacks balls to spit on someone, imagine thinking you're a big man because you'd spit on someone, lmao.
Nope dude, it's definitely basically the same, it's the closest comparison obviously, if tbagging someone across a pallet is the same as assaulting someone irl, hitting them with a machete is basically murder.

With the tools available in-game, it´s as close as you can get. The intent and message are the same.
Except not really, I could happily t-bag people all day in video games, wouldn't dare spit on or at anyone irl.
This is such a warped view of things, I guess a killer standing in front of you hitting you on the hook is basically them murdering you irl too.

Nothing in DBD can really offend me. Compared to what can happen at work, this is all fluff and candy to me. I understand though what OP is describing since it´s the ingame equivalent of my example.
Thanks to your sage advice I will from now on really put effort into learning what the difference between real life and video games is. I didn´t know there was one before!
No, being t-bagged is not the equivalent to being spat at, that's ridiculous.

You´re so right. When I´d flip you the finger and spit ever so slitghtly in front of your feet it wouldn´t affect you either, right? Only the most pathetic snowflakes would feel anything about that.
lmao, ok buddy.
Learn the difference between video games and real life. If you can't see the difference between someone spitting at you in real life and someone spamming CTRL on their keyboard to make their character go up and down you're always going to be offended and upset.
-
You'll never get better at all if you only tunnel and camp people you suspect of being SWF.
I can't tell you the amount of times I've had a player who is "so sure" in end-game chat that we're SWFers when I know I'm at least solo.
Also, still not sure why everyone is so sensitive about T-Bagging & Flashlight flicking, it has zero effect on the game and you need to move past it.
-
I have a feeling this article is written by someone who doesn't play Dead By Daylight.

Yeah..... you almost just have to go into a new killer at high rank with the goal of just getting 1 person on 1 hook 1 time... and no sweat if you don't. Just slot NOED and M1 at the end for a little drama. Bonus points if your Deathslinger and you catch a guy doing the teabag boogie in the end gate with a long shot.
I've never gone into the match as a new killer at red rank and thought i was going to get 1 hook, I don't think that's ever happened, I don't get why so many people make out like the killers are these complex characters with button hit combos you have to learn, they often function off one or two mechanics that are incredibly simple.
-
Not really, they've been saying for months and months that they sometimes put it live in certain locations for a certain amount of time to test it more.

Survivors dont realise its an inteded feature. There is a drop animation, and the killer is stunned roughly when the pallet visually hits the killer.

What it actually tracks is whether you hit a survivor that drops a pallet during a chase, and it is tied to the "Outrage" Achievement.
Has nothing to do with hitting survivors through pallets, lol.

Popping nearly two gens in the first couple minutes. What I get from that is "We wAnT oUt Of dA MaTcH NoW" Like seriously how is it any fun. I can handle rushers relatively well but it's the most boring brain dead game I could imagine. Chase this person, down them, gen pops. Chase next person, down them just as quickly as the first, 2 gens pop. Rinse and repeat. I don't see how it is fun having little to no interaction aside from sticking to gens like a fly on a cow pie. It isn't a tournament.
Why do you chase and hook survivors in the first couple minutes? Oh... it's your objective? Ok.
