Thank you. I appreciate you hearing me out even if your position remains the same.

The devs have said that voice comms is not cheating, they also don't ban for stream sniping but there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for that, it's because it's impossible to prove and link the accounts.

To excuse stream sniping some random who may or may not have used comms (which the devs don't see as cheating) does not mean watching them isn't cheating. You're entitled to think what you want but the devs have said 100% that voice comms isn't cheating while haven't given a stance on sniping entirely just that they don't ban, but again like i said, can't prove it 100% so of course they won't ban for it.

It sucks that just because someone had one bad experience with a a certain person means that they will treat all people from that particular group with aggression and unfairness.

Sounds similar to something from the history books I learnt about in school🤔

It's the dbd way dude, just the other day there was a thread about a survivor streamer being "toxic" because they said dumb ass as a deathslinger missed shots who then wiffed 100 M1s and DCd and everyone being like "why aren't streamers nice they're so toxic" and then we have a thread today about why cheating against streamers is ok and it's basiclaly come back to the jaded killer mains who are upset that people have friends to talk to while queued up in their team game mode, really sad to see honestly.

Its not like people are wallhacking or pulling out unlimited instaheals 🤣

Once more it is YOUR CHOICE to broadcast the game. They can only see your pov if you let them. If you dont like it you dont broadcast. You have to take the good with the bad.

Meanwhile I’ve had streamers talk crap about me, lie about me, all of this without my consent. I have zero sympathy for some entitled streamers.

    "Not like someone is wallhacking"

Whats the difference between knowing exactly where a survivor is with a 2 seconds delay and wall hacks exactly? They're almost identical in the advantage they give you.

oh no, one streamer said a bad thing about me, time to cheat against every streamer i see, very mature.

  • @Ecstasy said:

If voice chat is allowed, then stream sniping is too.

You cant cheat with technology and then be mad when someone cheats back.

    End of discussion.

"end of discussion" lmao yea stream sniping those killers to equip perks that counter what they use, heckin voice chatting killer mains.

    this forum is hilarious.

Its not cheating because the person streaming is choosing to broadcast their game to the world. I don't want people looking at my screen therefore I don't broadcast it.

I mean really it doesn't take a genius to work out that if you choose to show people what's happening on your screen some people might take advantage.

"Take advantage" so you literally just agreed it's doing something to gain an advantage you otherwise wouldn't have which is cheating.

    gg

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2026839#Comment_2026839

How is it cheating? when you stream you're sharing your screen with the world. If we were playing LAN and I turned my screen towards you and shouted "look! look! look everyone! look at me play!" and then you just happened to use that information, would it be your fault or mine?

It's crazy to me that this is how you try to justify it, it's not cheating because it's there to watch? Lmao this community expects streamers to be nice as we've seen from the threads the past couple of days but will then jump at the chance to kill them immediately because they have ttv in their name, now that's being a hypocrit.

    Such an embarrassment.

  • @Dizzy1096 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2026815#Comment_2026815

They see the killer after the game and give plenty of salt or smack talk, and some survivors don't put ttv in their name. Not to mention you don't know if the killer is a streamer.

I'm quite a private person and if given the option I'd opt-out of being streamed. It is what it is though, I just think there's a real hypocrisy to cry about being stream sniped whilst recording other people, broadcasting them to the world and profiting off them. Seems entitled.

I dont think you understand what hypocrisy means if you thinks it's hyprocitic to want someone not to cheat at a game to win and expecting "privacy" because your 3D model is in a game 😂

  • In this thread: killers try to justify cheating by any means necessary

  • @Tricks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/235134/is-stream-sniping-fair

Its totally fair. audio coms is not balanced into the game it was never meant to be in the game. If swf want to cheat by using external audio coms and a killer is listening in that's on them.

Yet killers still snipe solo players so what's the excuse there?

  • @Dizzy1096 said:

Yes it’s fair. I can see why they dislike it but it’s fair. It’s their choice to broadcast their game to the world so you can’t blame others for watching. Afterall no streamer ever messaged me and said “hey mind if I broadcast you to the world?” They just do it regardless.

Are you ok? Survivors don't know who the killer is, even if they wanted to they couldn't, and if you're a killer and see ttv you could make the choice not to be "broadcasted to the world" by dodging.

  • @AsherFrost said:

A lot of people seem to fail to realize there is a delay. As in, even if the OP was trying to use the stream to gain intel, his intel would be between 2-5 minutes behind, which for a game like this makes it essentially useless. Probably funny as hell though to hook someone and then hear on the stream "he's coming, but won't get me".

So yeah, I say it's pretty fair. More to the point, the mods have already confirmed it is not something that is considered reportable behavior. (Probably because they too, understand that there is a significant delay that makes any perceived advantage moot, or just because proving it would be very difficult)

Bro do you really think there is a 2-5 minute delay in streams? Lmao.

Almost no one live stream but record their own good plays but even so, you can do it, it's not that different to save a setting and change it every now and then.

About the legal discussion, I'd say it's rather healthy, as a third person you have the right of what you want others to show. It's like if a reporter start recording you, you have the legal resources to tell them to stop since you have not agreed to that. On internet there's the anonymous part but you still need some protection. You won't like me to sell some of your pics. Would you?

And yes, a game might sounds harmless in that aspect but it's not, many people have been harrassed just because their favourite streamer was killed by them and that is or it should be illegal.

    "change is every so often"

You mean changing it hundreds of times a stream because you going into lobbies, then into game, then into end game, and having to change it every time, it's not just "every so often" it's constantly.

This is the virtual world, it's not your identity or likeness on display, it has no similarities to someone in person harassing you with a camera and someone recording a game from their own perspective where your 3D character shows up, not even close to being the same.

But these games mentioned are tru3 vs mediocre players for a lot of them.

the games where tru3 sweats is the top players vs top players. In those games I’m not sure what his average kill rate would be.

so when Tru3 is losing, it's op survivors, when he's winning it's bad players? and you have proof of this?

I wish I moved the goalpost as much as this forum does when it comes to this.

He has around 6000 hours though and plays the game every single day for about 5 hours per day. He hardly represents the average player.

You have to see the irony in arguing that we should balance around the top players, but then saying that true is above average so we shouldn't take into account what top killers can do, lol.

  • @Zeus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2024426#Comment_2024426

The survivor isnt dropping any pallets or using windows so I wouldn't really say its a worst case scenario and it counter balances majority of the variables.

Look, I'm not trying to be an ass but here is a screenshot of every match true had in the same stream where he talks about holding W.

he died every survivor game, and 4K/3K'd every killer game except for a 1k match with wraith

    https://imgur.com/a/9tKmcxt

There are way too many variables to be like "holding W is too powerful and it takes too much time" because games very rarely if ever just end up being hold W.

some of the screenshots are just of the entity spikes bc he backs out before the scoreboard a lot when he plays surv.

  • These videos prove almost nothing considering the amount of variables in a match, while Tru3 likes to only look at the worst case scenario, it's almost always least often case as well, while I respect what Tru3 is doing he does completely ignore such variables so that it seems like it's always the worst.

  • It is a rather cute charm.

Excuse me, but it's very easy to hide the part where the names are shown or make them blur... so actually, there's no excuse.

There kind of is, having huge parts of your screen blurred at all times is incredibly annoying while livestreaming, you also have to have multiple parts of your screen blurred at a time because the name show up in different place, the lobby, in game & the end game screen. Honestly the dbd community is ridiculous because no other community goes after streamers as hard, especially considering there's literal legal talk in this thread arguing if you have the right to terminate content because your 3d model is in someone's game.

I mean yes, just as much as the people who mori streamers should.

She literally called him a dumbass, idiot and was incredibly taunting. As well as teabag. Instead of acknowledging that hey it's not very nice, she don't care. Even when said to her that some people might look up to her as a content creator.

    Also nice tweet :)

idk man, I think there are times to be offended but I would 100% accept being called a dumbass for wiffing multiple times up close and far away, this kind of talk i think is 100% ok, she isn't directly calling the player it and anyone who pretends they haven't called someone dumb or idiot or stupid as they've been hit or dodged something during dbd is lying. The only difference is streamers are streaming and I personally don't think a streamer should have to police saying stuff like this that really isn't offensive.

  • @Leachy_Jr said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2022671#Comment_2022671

I mean, someone directly pointed out that if someone saw this it would discourage them if they were the opposing side. Instead of saying something to excuse it eg the fact that they were drunk, they went straight to saying "Don't care".

They really do not care about the other side.

I mean why should they? There's literally a thread on this forum right now talking about how people target streamers constantly and tunnel mori them, I don't see why they need to then put effort into being nice.

The person span a deathslinger a few times saying "yooop nice power" and then the killer DC'd like, regardless of whether the player was saying that or not the deathslinger gave up and quit out.

  • Lol this clip was absolutely hilarious and anyone seeing it as something personal is being ridiculous honestly.

  • @Dizzy1096 said:

People should have an option to opt-out. Its the hypocrisy of streamers that gets me, they cry about stream sniping but they capture video of other players daily on twitch and youtube and profit from it. Some games let you hide your usernames, DBD should do the same. Some of these streamers use streamsniping screens to protect themselves but don’t hide the names of anyone else. Hypocrites.

I don’t really like streamers if only because I’ve heard the abuse they throw at players. The smaller streamers are the worst because some of them have no professional standards whatsoever and will bring up profiles etc or post their names on twitter and all it takes is a few idiots reading it to take it upon themselves to harass that player.

There is a distinct difference between seeing someones name and then going out of your way to go to someones channel and watch the game so you can see what they are doing, what they are doing and what perks they have.

The fact that some people think this is a fair comparison is completely absurd.

Everyone in the game can see your name, the dozens of players you go against can see your name.

Please do not reveal the names of the people who have recorded your gameplay/gamertag for their thousands of followers to all mock.

    Irony overload.

Streamers, especially the big ones have been asking for a streamer mode that hides names for a while now, it's not like they want to show your stuff off.

Not really but survivors really dislike undying because survivors were so bad at adapting to the killer meta, they went and nerfed the perk. Survivors get carried by 2nd chance perks all the time and without them, it shows that they're not as good as they think

Adapt to what? Having to do ruin 4 times before it's gone while having almost 0 progress on gens because they have corrupt up as well and have been patrolling the gens?

There isn't really a decent way to adapt to that, you can pretend every thing you play against is a 4 man squad but it simply isn't true so thinking there is always coordination to defeat all the totems is completely ridiculous.

And the fact of the matter is, killers get way more useful perks than survivor do so survivors have to adept far FAR more often than killers do, survivors literally haven't had a meta perk since Dead Hard, yet every 3 months killers pick one perk coming out and complain it will be op, for the people? op, any means necessary? op, breakout? obviously going to be used constantly in swf and be op (hint it isn't) where as almost EVERY killer has brought some perk that has made it's way into being used very often and easily swapped out between the other plethora of useful killer perks.

  • I got it first game, drop pallet at the start of the trial, vault it once or twice, then start resetting it was you hear the heartbeat.

  • What's your point exactly?

Survivors have to run perks killers like or something?

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Whenever a Survivor complains here, Killers jump on him, stating that they are not the fun provider. But Survivors should care for the Killers fun?

And I dont even see any problem in that Screenshot, they ran Meta-Perks - and? Its not like you ran Meme-Perks. They did not bring any Items, they did not burn any Map Offering...

And you even killed 3 of them. So, whats the point?

Because four survivors didn't die and that's bad...

I mean, I doubt this killer was being fun from the looks of it someone bled out so i mean, slugged for the entire game? Survivors should just be more fun.

    chrome 15-03 1615778691 .png

  • I mean, once you were in the match you would have known there were no DS's as there isn't a single obsession perk in play so i don't see why you've even highlighted BT.

and despite the two keys, hatch offering, & speed limiter you still managed to 3K, idk man, survivors op or something.

  • How do you nerf something that doesn't do anything?

  • because it's unnecessary? T-bagging isn't a mechanic that does anything?

  • @Judgement said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2018341#Comment_2018341

So they still haven’t removed it then? Four entire years give or take and they still haven’t deleted the perk from the game? A perk that was a pre-release version of a now existing perk, that somehow made it into the game, and they still haven’t removed it?

What point are you trying to make? If it doesn't do any harm why remove it when they may end up using it another time?

thats true, but who would genrush an AFK killer?

after all (unless its an invisible wraith ofc) most will go and try to farm points on the killer.

also, totems are now one of your main BP sources so it'd be kind of stupid to ignore them.

but yes, theoretically that scenario is possible. very unlikely, but possible.

Me, I don't play dbd for the points if they aren't "earned" I'd get more points rushing out of a match and into a legitimate one than I would farming points out of an afk one and then going into a normal match.

Ontop of this, this thread implies it is no longer safe to farm chase points infront of the killer because say you haven't been able to do all totems or whatever and the last gen pops you now die because you wanted to farm those points etc, at thaat point the 5K for escaping outweights the time and effort spent farming chase points when it could end up killing you.

Additionally, I'm no hyprocrite and have noticed my survivor lobbies are no longer instant but I can admit that, so ontop of waiting out for a lobby you may end up in a match where you can't do anything and have to queue up again for a long, imagine when DCing wasn't penalised and killer lobbies were long and you waited ten minutes for a match just for the survivors to all DC bc you're playing a killer they don't like or whatever, it's the same thing really.

  • @Mister_xD said:

to be fair, if the killer is AFK there realls isnt any excuse for you to not do all the totems.

do make sure to report them though, AFKing the entire trial is bannable.

you might need video evidence though.

There kind of is, solo gamer can't reasonably be expected to check every spot on the map and do gens, especially when there are three other survivors pumping away at gens and possibly not doing any totems, then the last gen pops and you get instantly downed with noed and camped, the worst matches in dbd are the ones the killer is afk there is no fun in that, doing gens and leaving is top priority, not making sure every totem is done you know?

  • @Mister_xD said:

but you can usually get a hit on those that have been blocking the chain, which more often than not gets them killed instead.

also, at least in my experience, this rarely ever happens, so its not really a scenario that would affect most your games.

and if they are close, you can lunge around the person trying to bodyblock.

Certain people on the forums see a thread here and often jump onto the topic to try and exacerbate the issue, It's a real shame, because while survivor hate Deathslinger he is fun to play and thread like this just scare people off trying them.

  • @Haddix said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2001265#Comment_2001265

so...every shot you get, someone's just there to bodyblock the chain?

someone is just hanging around when you're chasing someone for the entire game?

    1. They're not doing gens
    2. Walk forward and hit the bodyblocker

you get free hits, and apparently, someone hanging around you the entire game. that's like a free pig trap!

my guy, even if this was an actual issue, you're not getting sweaty swfs every other game. I've played a lot of Slinger, and I've had someone attempt this maybe once or twice.

As with a lot of dbd players, it's easier to blame every one else because the hive mind will agree with them than admit they probably played badly.

  • @Tsulan said:

This is the reason why I stopped playing Mendslinger. His power gets completely nullified by SWF.

If you think his power is "completely nullified" by SWF you're probably playing them wrong, two survivors in front of you and you're unable to capitalise on that? lol.

  • @Mister_xD said:

yeah and lets not forget that while you can get 27% gen progress at once with 9 individual hooks on your team (= 3 people dead), the killer can instantly take down 25% of a gen with Pop on a SINGLE hook.

    its really not that bad.

I've been telling people this but they keep telling me "Killer has to do way more to get their PGTW while survivors don't have to do anything"

HOOKING IS LITERALLY WHAT KILLERS HAVE TO DO TO PROGRESS LIKE PGTW STACKS ARE FREE BC IT'S YOUR OBJECTIVE GIVING THEM TO YOU.

  • @HellDescent said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1990404#Comment_1990404

You get 8 pgtw uses with everyone on death hook. And what does exactly survivor needs to do to earn stack?

Not be dead? Be able to sit on a gen with a killer hooking someone and then they hit their great skill check, get their.... whopping 3% bonus progress just to have the killer come and kick it down 25%?

  • @Terro said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1990404#Comment_1990404

To be fair, the killer has to find, chase, down, and hook a survivor to get pop active. Then they have to know where a gen is with at least 25% progress to get that full 25%, walk there and kick it. Then the time it takes to leave that area to go to other survivors has to be accounted for.

I don't think either perk is that strong.

I understand that but 1 hook for fast track is 3% where as one hook for pop is 25%, you get like 8x the benefit for killer and POP than you do as a survivor with Fast Track, and the numbers in this post only reflect all survivors having the perk.

  • @HellDescent said:

If 4 people have it and they are all hooked twice, that's 74% of a generator done. Get outplayed killer, should've camped or at least forced struggle.

Everyone on death hook... that's 9 stacks of pop goes the weasel, that's 225% regression, gg survivors get outplayed should've just not been hooked and forced a gen.

  • @TheArbiter said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/231864/im-going-to-be-sick

While what you say is true in theory, this still requires at the very least four people coincidentally running it or a SWF. In your normal run of the mill solo queue match it isn't the best perk to bring.

It also means 3 survivors out of the 4 are dead, and that the killer isn't running regression and that you have all those stacks saved.

  • bro the first game i got into had a killer who downed me in the end and stood there throwing knives at me until I bled out, I wouldn't encourage this in main game but i definitely DCd from ptb bc there's no penalty.

  • @Yamaoka said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1985458#Comment_1985458

One more reason to despise toxic SWF teams.

They mess with the killers and it's the solo queue afterwards that has to suffer for that.

Everytime I verse a killer that facecamps first hook I'm just like "aaah yeah... They probably faced some cocky SWF teams earlier".

As if solo queue wasn't already a roulette but then we get to face killers that are going into the match with a hostile mindset because of toxic SWF teams.

lmao yes, definitely SWFs fault for survivors beating killers and then the killers going into their next match to face camp, lmao.

  • This is how you do nothing but punish ultra casuals that probably don't care or know about the things you're complaining about.
