In truth, the result of the killer lock is simply that survivor ques are longer, because killers still dodge potential SWF lobbies, especially now that they cant change killers. Killer que is instant, so it doesnt effect them, but it does effect the survivor que massively.
The killer lock should have gone in ONLY when MMR when in, and its kind of ridiculous that they went ahead and did it anyways, then left it this way for many months. At this point, the fact that they have given no timeframe for the MMR being added, its simply embarrassing to keep the killer lock in, and then claim theres nothing they can do to fix survivor que times.
Unfortunately, ego is more important than fixing the problem, because it would involve admitting that they made a huge mistake.
I've seen you post this "Survivor queues are long, killers queues are instant" multiple times today and it simply isn't true for everyone. My killer queues are upwards of ten minutes, while my survivors queues are instant. It all depends on the time that you play, so if you always play at a time in your region not a lot of X are on, your lobby is either going to be fast or slow.

Same reason killers drop survivors near hatch and then close it, or fake walk towards open doors and then hook, or let survivors bleed out while standing on top of them, it's a little more "entertainment" to some, which is fine.

Eww, linking the literal most biased player, who is genuinely awful at the game is hilarious.
Please address the argument and not the source of the clip. Especially not in such a disrespectful way.
@Slashstreetboy has already addressed the quote from Almo, so I am skipping over that part.
if that were the case, nurse would be nerfed into absolute oblivion, same for spirit, Oni & blight. But that just isn't the case.
Please show a source that shows that Nurse, Spirit, Oni and Blight overperform or are being used by the top 1% players. In this post @Almo has stated that Nurse is in the top 25%:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1841520#Comment_1841520
There is no information that I know of regarding the ranking of Spirit, Oni or Blight. Freddy is the #1:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1840860#Comment_1840860
And Freddy was confirmed to be getting changes in the near future. I can't find the source for that currently though. It is unknown where Nurse ranked previously but the rework / remaster of her power is widely regarded as an overall nerf.
You clearly don't undertstand my point, if ANY killer were to be balanced around their 1% they wouldn't be nerfed or buffed because the top 1% is almost always exclusively 3/4King, just like the 1% of survivors are almost always escaping.
The devs aren't balancing around these percentiles and to assume so because some out of context clips or quotes doesn't prove otherwise.

He specifically says that he works with the statictics by looking at the Kill rates of the top 1% players of each respective Killer, which implies that this is the foundation of his balance decisions.
Balancing a singular killer around their 1% maybe, but not the entire game, also the top 1% of clowns are phenomenal, the top 1% of every killer is phenomenal (hence why they are the top 1%) if the only thing they balanced around were the top 1% of X then no killer would ever get buffed or nerfed because looking at the top 1% makes every killer look viable.
-
and in the video nowhere does Almo say "we specifically balance players around the 1% of people who play them", if that were the case, nurse would be nerfed into absolute oblivion, same for spirit, Oni & blight. But that just isn't the case.

Almo specifically said that they make balance changes based off of the top 1% of killers. The obvious issue here is whether or not they take the top 1% of survivors into account as well. A top 1% killer vs a team of bottom 25% survivors is probably going to result in the killer winning.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1854644#Comment_1854644
All games that pit one human against another human or team of humans are competitive by nature. Name a single game in all of human history, including non-video games that pits two or more people against each other that isn't competitive. Where there is competition and PvP, there is always a hunger for balance, and that hunger for balance tends to favor skillful play, not cheesy game mechanics. Meritocratic systems are by definition fair for all involved, as the difference between two players isn't their ability to exploit game imbalances, but their skill levels.
Do you have a source for this bc if i know this forum it's ability to take something completely out of context and twist it is it's special ability.

And you want this game to be easy for survivors, since it's balanced around the top 1% of killers. Your argument is hypocritical.
What lmao?
How is it balanced around the top 1% of killers?
The top 1% of killers are actually good.
-
Implying the game be balanced around "1%" of survivors is ridiculous, especially considering you're probably not even in the top "1%" of killers, so wanting the game to be easier for you because one percent of survivors that are "the best" is just beyond sane.

Bro BHVR can't even get running and pushing an action button right , do you not see that, you can laugh your ass off all you want but another company would definitely do a better job and I'm not talking about balance wise I'm talking the bugs and the bullshit that pops up every patch , gta is a way bigger game with more controls and more people in a single lobby and bigger map, BHVR can't even get half a city block worth of map space to work right and every thing under the sun has a bullshit bug at some point , it honestly a joke that youve been here so long and don't see that yet
I don't think being here long has anything to do with it.
If you honestly think sending this game to another dev team who understands literally nothing about how it's built is going to somehow make it a better game then there's no point in discussing anything with you.
Imagine giving GTA to literally any dev team, do you think they'd suddenly understand how it works and make it better or? You have to realise Rockstar have been making GTA games since 1997, BHVR have been working on (the only real successful PVP asymmetrical game) for 4 years.
But sure, lets compare them because that sounds like a reasonable thing to do, yikes.

Kill rate is at the top, so that number is the average kill rate across all killers.

Removing two killer from the graph doesn't make his kill rate suddenly go down, it's still mid range.

So, I want to bring something up.
Let's see the chart:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/VV799GPBPFZF/image.png
So, there is chart where they said Legion is a solid mid-tier. But they also said that Nurse and Blight were misleading due to their required skill, which is totally fine. However, that means that for the sake of this chart, you remove those two Killers. Now, Legion is technically lower on the chart. This idea that he is mid tier is being masked by the fact that they have two killers on that chart that push some of the other low tier Killers up. The same thing could be said about Pyramid Head, as he was still fairly new at the time. My point being, even using their own chart, Legion is NOT the middle of the road Killer they claim if they go by their own sentiments concerning the lowest two and newer Killers.
Position on the chart is irrelevant lol, if every killer was somewhere in the 75% range, someone would still be at the bottom and someone still at the top. 67% is a solid kill rate

Yea it does take away from your point, if you can't give an example of an absolutely terrible change that literally nobody liked in the past three years than your entire point is moot, it's embarrassing that you can't see that.

The devs have made some changes that one side didn't like but it was for the good of the game as a whole. Then there's decisions that no one was happy about and made the game worse. /cough1.9.2cough
A new team might actually be a good idea. Get a fresh pair of eyes on this issue.
The fact that your example of them doing a patch that "nobody likes" is from almost three years ago is hilarious.

Considering some of the decisions BHVR has been making lately. Selling it to a new team is getting more appealing every patch. At least the new team will admit they don't know what they are doing and actually do something with our feedback.
You can't appease everyone so being upset by some decisions that others like isn't a valid reason for wanting the game sold to another company.
Thinking the bugs would be fixed by an entirely new team is exactly the kind of thinking I'd expect from this forum, lmao.
-
Yea because selling the game to an entirely new team who has absolutely no idea what bloodlust is, or ruin, etc etc will surely make this game better.

I really would like to see how the mori nerf affected those stats.
Because either moris were to strong and deserved the nerf. In that case the kill rate would drop significantly or mori had little to no impact. In that case, why nerf it?
You keep moving and changing the subject when something doesn't fit your narrative, it's incredibly boring.
Something doesn't have to have a huge impact on game numbers for it to be considered OP or mean it doesn't need changes, MandyTalks said 2% of escapes are due to keys, that's miniscule, yet it still needs changing.

Kill rate on rank 1. Who starts to learn nurse on rank 1? Thats like learning to juggle with nitro. An unforgettable experience.
It's actually a 57% kill rate in RED RANKS not Rank 1.
It's a 40% kill rate across ALL RANKS which is pretty high considering the learning curve on her.
and literally any average killer is red rank considering rank reset only sets you back to the final rank on the colour before you, so being red rank isn't exactly some incredible feat, the majority of killers learn new killers in red rank.

I don´t see DH as a problem. I think it wasn´t designed around dedicated servers (which were a mistake, but thats a whole different topic) and needs some adjustments to trigger correctly.
this doesn't disprove my point, you and I both know it's a big topic with killers and how they want dead hard nerfed, whether you see it as a problem doesn't detract from the fact that killers didn't complain about it every day two years ago, and now it's a hot button topic.

The only fair solution for keys would be to remove the hatch. Why? Because the gates don´t close behind the third survivor when four are about to escape.
Failure shouldn´t be rewarded.
Hatch is fine, I would bet more killers enjoy hatch than dislike it (controversial, I know) but nothing is more enjoyable to me than stomping a team and giving the best surv an extra 7K points for giving me the run around and playing well.
The reason hatch is mostly hated is keys, but if they're more balanced to not do as much around hatch then it's fine as is. You're saying remove hatch without even know what the rework is.

I think it was a mistake to nerf moris before keys. Both should have been nerfed at the same time. They should have delayed moris until they were ready for keys. I understand, why they didn´t notify about the mori nerf, because they feared that killers would use them, just like survivors use keys now. Right now we are at the situation of survivors using their keys like there is no tomorrow.
However, while keys are an issue, they fundamentally have more counters than the mori counter of "don't get downed/tunneled".
Hopefully with the key rework they won't be powerful enough to warrant being removed from chests but they should have "band-aided" keys to not drop from chests when they did the mori change, so you know every game there is a key involved and you can either dodge / franklins etc.
However, I'm not going to budge on the fact that keys have counters where as mories didn't really have one.

I honestly think the game has more pressing matters. Like useless red addons of other killers like Mendslinger or as you said: Keys.
Yet i fear, we´ll see the huntress nerf way sooner than a rework to keys.
They could have been working on huntress addons for 2+ months while only working on keys for 1+ month, it would be incredibly ridiculous for keys to be changed first if that was the case, do you not think?
But keys don't need reworked as I don't plan on using them /s

Perhaps. But the "just want to watch the world burn" thing has a different origin.
Anyway, they won´t be using those addons a lot, simply because they are so rare/expensive to get.
For example, i never use them and i could only play 13 matches with both addons before i run out of them. I have my Huntress maxed out with all perks and yet i only have that small amount of those addons.
Courtesy of twitch.tv/Ralph
but don't worry, just because you have 13 means the rest of the players don't go or buy these.

I don´t see what one has to do with the other.
If you don´t use iri hatchets, then whats the problem? Good killers don´t use them, because they are to expensive/not worth the effort.
Bad killers use them, but can´t hit with them.
I don't use keys, but they're still a problem, that's why I mentioned keys because I know the type of person you are and knew exactly what you would say whether I said I use them or I don't use them. You're incredibly predictable.
Pretending that every huntress that runs iri heads doesn't ride the survivors back to get the insta down is an obvious show of your bias towards killers.
and just because I don't use them doesn't mean they aren't a problem, this is what called being unbiased is, Tsulan. It's being able to see a problem even if it doesn't affect you all that much.

The first idea really should just be part of her power. There's no reason someone playing Huntress should have to reload midchase.
I like the idea of cutting the amount of hatchets down but they regenerate over time.
I feel like the third one would have potential, but something I've learned from other similar add-ons is they aren't always helpful.
Just for the last point I think it has more potential for huntress as the other killer aura reveals usually require the killer to be there, she could throw a hatchet at a gen in the distance and see if 1 / 2 survivors are there, unlike blight who actually has to bounce close to the survivors.

@Tsulan said:

So are you constantly using Iri hatchets?
Or don´t touch them ever?

I also don't touch keys ever, and they're still a problem.

Since you play a lot of Huntress I must ask then, if iri head goes (or at least what it currently does) what sort of add-on would you replace it with? What would it do?
I'm not sure how doable it is, but I'd like an addon where she gains speed for every hatchet she uses up to the full 115% most killers are, whether that's basekit or an addon I think it would make up for her lack of chase protentional once hatchets are gone.
Something that regenerates hatchets every 15 - 20 seconds but maybe removes 1 / 2 like current iri head.
Maybe a hatchet that when hits / misses a survivor reveals surv auras within 16m of impact zone.
-
@ChurchofPig said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1850961#Comment_1850961
I think the point of showing that is that not every iri head game ends in a 4k like some people exaggerate it to sound like.
Which doesn't mean it isn't a problem add on, the killer I play the most is huntress, the iri heads need to go.
You're either a good enough killer where you don't dare use them because you know they're op, or you're just bad at huntress and run them and just get right up to a survivor so you can't miss.
She deserves a more interesting iri addon than something that either pros won't use because op, or bad players only use bc they're bad.

Yea of course I do but they don't think "I'm going to t-bag because this is totally going to upset the killer" all of them, like me, don't care about flashlight flicking or t-bagging because it does literally nothing, you probably have bigger problems in your life if t-bagging and flashlight flicking are the things that tick you over the edge.
Being annoying for 5 seconds is not "bullying".
-
@[Deleted User] said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1849146#Comment_1849146
For the same reason as above, depending on context, but quite often it is done with the intent to upset someone and waste their time as much as possible. They wait at each gate; make you walk back and fourth between each of them to swing (and miss because they wait to run out) and then back to the other gate to do the same thing OR just wait the entire timer out.
The latter example, targeting specifically one person is actually a reportable offense. It takes hard evidence; but it is.
Spamming anything, a behaviour that is done with the intention of upsetting someone, because you KNOW it has the ability to do so, is an intentional act of causing grief to another person. That is bullying. Especially in the context I mentioned above.
Sure it's not something reportable because it's level of harm is low; but yeah, it does imply a certain standard of morality to that person in many people's eyes.
I don't know anyone that t-bags or flashlight flicks to "upset" anyone, it's used to distract and draw attention to something else, or illicit a chase because survivors are kind of... supposed to wastes the killers time so like gens can be done and stuff.
and I'm sorry but what? walk between the gates? like... the match is going to end you can just wait it out, I've had more killers fake giving me the hatch than I've had survivors make me wait a whole 2 minutes for the end game, better yet hold W and like you said they leave ending the match in less than 2 minutes.
Again, nothing even close to bullying, trying to get a killer to chase you by means of taunting isn't bullying, at least not to me.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1849140#Comment_1849140
Because they KNOW they can. They do it at like every pallet; with every stun, etc... because they know they can do it and get away with it. They t-bag at every gate with the sole intention of BMing; it's usually done with the INTENT to upset another person- so yes when you do something with the intent of bothering another person, yeah that is generally a mean spirited individual.
There are exceptions of course this isn't always the case; but quite often it is.
There are times when someone wants to tilt a killer for example to try and bait them to chasing them when it is a bad move to do so, I don't like it but I understand and that is an acceptable reason- most often that kind of reason is not the case however. So as I said, it depends on context.
I just don't see how t-bagging in an exit gate is "bullying"
I can see how someone repeatedly targeting an individual, take constant stream sniping and harassment that is bullying.
But one random survivor spamming CTRL in an exit gate isn't even close to "bullying".

No.
End game chat I absolutely get and all actually offensive end game chat should be reported, if someone gg ez's you, it's not bullying.
How are you being "bullied" if someone t-bags or flashlight cliccks? How is being t-bagged by 4 survivors "bullying"? It seems to me that it has 0 effect on the actual game and would in fact make it easier to win if survivors are t-bagging and not running away, I just don't see how this constitutes as "being bullied".

Yeah, it doesn't sound to me like you are "genuinely curious", it sounds to me like you want the OP to give the examples so you can try to discredit them as not counting as being bullied to be argumentative.
Except every case of "bullying" I've seen in dbd is the exact things I've listed, which aren't really bullying besides the end game chat thing.
I had a killer dc over deception yesterday and then proceed to start typing N-bombs in chat, I don't think that was bullying but I certainly reported it and moved on and didn't make a huge thing about it on dead by daylight bc if the actions of the person were to be deemed bullying they'd be removed from the game after a report is looked at.
but instead people come to the forums and say they've been bullied when it usually means they've had a game where either the survivor or the killer was better than them, or they got DSd one too many times.
-
What is "bullying" in dead by daylight?
Being better than the other player?
Flicking your flashlight?
T-Bagging?
Offensive end game chat?
Using perks you don't like?
Hitting the survivor on the hook?
Having survivors swarm the hook to do saves?
Flashlight saving?
I'm genuinely curious as to how you were bullied, and also - unless you're reporting people for end game chat you can, and probably should just hide it, or leave the end game lobby after the match there is nothing to gain from being there yet people will sit in it and read the chat (and usually reply) and then come to the forums without reporting or even considering to hide the chat and complain about their experience.
-
Ehhh this argument was had a million times before they nerfed self care.
I told everyone nerfing self care wasn't a good idea, you know what happened after killer stopped complaining about self care because it was nerfed? They then exclusively complained about survivors not healing and just doing gens, getting mad a survivor would rather go down and finish a gen in front of a killer than run away or be healed.
I personally think healing could be sped up a little bit now that the game is in a much more balanced state.

Killer complained that self-care was too OP a long time ago, and to combat this, the developers instead nerfed healing altogether.
Now killers complain that survivors don't heal enough.

Honestly I'd be fine if they disabled this in favor of letting the killer hook. If the survivor does get dropped then the ground can eat them.
albeit a rare case it would just encourage trolling, killer walks around and doesn't hook you, and then you have to wiggle just to die.
It's the equivalent I would say to before egc and having to walk to doors and hit people out just so they'd leave.

The effect stacks and increase in potency. With a small debuff that escalates the more premades are added. Two friends debuff is going to be lower but does need to exist. Solo play suffer for swf nonesense "hanging out" is still possible you will just wont be horrendously punishing the experiance of solo play by forcing the game to balance around swf.
this doesn't fix anything and will instead just increase the amount of SWFs that play, people would 100% rather face a bigger debuff than play solo and maybe get bebuffed as a solo if they get put with a 2-man / 3-man.
and to top it off, killer ain't even hard, people are still pushing this idea that killer is as hard as it was 3 years ago and that just isn't the case, people really need to stop thinking they're the best killer in the entire game and that the only reason they lose is SWF, because that isn't it, you're just bad at dbd.
-
SWF is the only thing making survivor bearable.
The issue this game has is players unwillingness to admit they might just be bad at dead by daylight but instead default to the X is the reason I'm losing.

Solo queue should not be balanced on the same level as swf and pretending it doesn't exist or doesn't matter is negligent at best abhorrent at worst. Disable certain perks like OoO on swf teams. Finally start looking at solo based buffs like kindred like effect base maybe not as good but similar to help solo queue players get a better read on saves.
Side note op were getting rank 12 killers as a lobby of 3 red rank survivors premade no green ranks pre lobby there something fundamentally borked about swf matchmaking, Still disgusted monto and ohtofu pals got matched with a fking rank 20-18 trapper.
this punishes solo survivors more than pre-mades, one team of duos and the other two solos have to deal with extended healing and gen time bc two friends are hanging out? lmao.
