You can already... hear the direction footsteps are coming from, though. This isn't giving you any extra information.
If it's "showing you their exact location", then you already KNEW their exact location... so it is telling you nothing.
Not really, survivor can run forward, double back, fake windows and double back, they can walk etc, and you don't hear all that all the time, the terror radius is one singular thing that only gets louder or quieter, footsteps and survivor sounds and showing you where they are during a mindgame is very different.

you can just have a visual indicator for sounds, it doesn't have to show their exact location lol
like someone else suggested in this thread, if you hear footsteps there could be a little indicator on your screen showing footsteps, maybe the direction they came from too
"Maybe the direction they came from". That's the issue, footsteps come from the survivors feet, showing you where the footsteps are on the other side of the wall is precise information, it is their exact location.
-
Sounds coming from a survivor are precise, where as terror radius is omnidirectional, you mostly don't know where the killer is coming from except for when you have game knowledge you assume where he is coming from depending on where you are and the kind of loop you are in.
While I would LOVE for killers to have more accessibility I just can't see a feasible way to give it to them for chase mechanics without it basically showing where a survivor is on the other side of the wall, one thing (that I think DBD Mobile does) is gen progress for the killer without having to directly look, that's always something that can be looked into.

By the looks of it, Circle of Healing is also getting a nerf (Thanks @GoodBoyKaru )

Then it shouldn't be left as an optional accessibility choice, should be enabled by default, and then balanced around.
I'm just saying, it is possible that an accessibility option could provide a competitive edge without harming gameplay some other way, so it's worth baring in mind that it might have to stop being an option.
Agreed we should also enable colour blind filters by default and balance the game around those too /s
It's accessibility, it's only active when you could hear a heartbeat but for those who are hard of hearing, who cares if people who can hear also use it, it doesn't change anything.

If it's good enough, I can see everyone using it for a competitive edge, because a good visual cue could make it even easier to pinpoint the Killer's direction and distance.
and so what if they do? It's for accessibility which no one gets to gatekeep.

We STILL have absolute zero feedback on killer quality of life improvements. It’s not even discussed as a possible future item.
What QoL do you think you need? The patch before this one with the UI brought the kill rate up to 60+%, this info will likely bring it down, and then they'll hopefully individually suit each killer to the changes.

Interesting.
- Bweb improvements...hopefully just some sort of autobuy.
- Bots - meh. But hopefully prototyping for the day they can replace DC/AFK players.
- Map repeat prevention - fantastic.
- Visual Terror Radius...I have absolutely no idea what this is going to look like, but can't you just use Spinechill?
- The next update - it's Badham. Frigging finally.
- RIP Eruption. Enjoy it while I can, I guess - because I'd bet dollars to donuts it's going to get Thana'd.
- FOMO cosmetics - meh.
Visual heartbeat is mostly for the hearing impaired, as they were using Spinechill for this, until it changed (which is why it's currently only half changed, waiting for the visual heartbeat to come out)

No, they've already spoken about this - a feature like that needs to have the game built around it, not tacked on 7 years after release.
Additionally - even some of the most competitive games in the world have playback issues Fortnite / CS:GO both have major issues in their playback systems, it's unfortunately the nature of the online game recording where everyone has a different connection to the server.

If you report the game, it'll get linked to your own cloud ID and then they look at the data for the other players in the match.

This would be just another variant of Sabo squads that have no intention of completing gens.
Ok and? These guys will die pretty freaking fast considering the setup requires 2 un-hooks to even work, oh for shame, a 10 minute match because the survivors spent the entire game saving each other and hiding / grouping up all injured to heal one survivor in 2 seconds, lmao.
-
@SmolBlob said:

???
It means the survivors are forbidden from hiding and waiting for the others to die so they can try to get hatch. For example, if there’s two survivors left and both are standing (read: not downed or hooked), they are required to work on gens. Not doing so is against the rules. If one of the last two is downed or hooked, then it’s not because hook timer/bleed out timer is only a few minutes and guaranteed finite.
Survivors are not "forbidden" from waiting for the survivors to die, if it's something that happens for a long period of time yes, but this is a situation that very rarely happens and doesn't mean that hatch needs to be changed.
-
because survivors literally get removed from the match.

All of these comments were made before the hatch was changed, which would show the hatch to multiple survivors alive, now, as the hatch literally cannot be available AND closed to multiple survivors anymore, not everything these people have said means a lot as the rules have changed, one survivor cannot "hide forever" and wait for hatch because the hatch will only show when they're the only one alive, which means it will be immediately opened and possible to be closed.
If what you're saying is true, than survivors would literally be breaking the rules by not saving the last survivor.
-
I would have agreed with you a few months ago - but seeing as the majority of killers are using a 3-gen strat and succeeding even on maps like Eerie (2 gens can spawn each side of main building and one in main building) it's becoming (at least for me) harder to agree with changing all the maps and making them 20 - 30% smaller, which I would have absolutely agreed with only a few months ago.

What does this even mean? Are you implying a perk that affects sounds made it harder to physically see a survivor?
Is it or is it not useful information? Loops are so hilariously easy to keep track of survivors on that only a killer making a mistake would legitimately lose a survivor on one.
Your answer sounds like you don´t know what effect IW had and why it was so popular.
I´m afraid this discussion is pointless.
Have a good night.
you comparing IW to spirits power sounds like you've never played this game before.

IW made it extremely hard to spot a survivor with line of sight blockers. Which made the perk so popular and why streamers considered it the best survivor perk. Its users usually defended it with "mindgames". When there actually wasn´t a mindgame at all, because of the third person view and the heavy reliance of killers on sound.
Both scratchmarks and blood can be deceiving in most loops.
The phase walk of Spirit was heavily disliked by survivors for the same reasons. Because they couldn´t know if the Spirit was just standing at the pallet or running around. Spirit players defended this also as "mindgame" when it also wasn´t one.
By removing the completely silent phase walk, IW was bound to get nerfed as well.
Spirit pick rate and IW pick rate both dropped for the same reason. Because people were not able to "mindgame" anymore.
"IW made it extremely hard to spot a survivor with line of sight blockers"

"Both scratchmarks and blood can be deceiving in most loops"

"The phase walk of Spirit was heavily disliked by survivors for the same reasons. Because they couldn´t know if the Spirit was just standing at the pallet or running around. Spirit players defended this also as "mindgame" when it also wasn´t one"
The issue with spirit is that you could still see her but she could literally be right next to you, a silent survivor can still literally be seen like, and tracked with other methods, absolutely nothing to do with sound whatsoever, the real truth is that most survivors just wanted some sort of animation flutter to signify when she started phasing, making it pretty obvious most didn't have an issue with the no sound. (probably why killer mains kept swearing blind that her glass shimmers when she phases)
"By removing the completely silent phase walk, IW was bound to get nerfed as well"
Again, there was nothing to signify a spirit was phase walking, the lack of sound on the survivor made you aware they had the perk and also there were other alternatives to tracking, unlike (you guessed it) the spirit.
"Spirit pick rate and IW pick rate both dropped for the same reason. Because people were not able to "mindgame" anymore."
Spirit pick rate dropped because she wasn't as easy to play, iron will dropped because of it being utterly useless to anyone with a $5 headset, being disabled while exhausted as well as having the sound reduction lessened means the perk literally doesn't do anything.

Please, tell me more!
You - "Iron will was the survivor version of the spirits' power"
Me - "You can see survivors, their blood & scratch marks"
Clearly I'm talking about the comparison of IW vs Spirits Power which is that even with Iron Will active there are still several things that help you locate the survivor, unlike the Spirit Power, but keep up that deflection I guess.

IW was the survivor version of Spirits power. People asked the devs to nerf Spirits power, to make it easier to hear her, when phase walking. Then IW got the same treatment. Surprise!
People should be really more careful what they wish for. A nerf can be always applied to both sides for the same reason.
????
You can visually see survivors, they leave blood when injured & also scratch marks, this comparison is absolutely wild.
-
Too much survivor BP comes from escaping, in a landscape where it's almost impossible for a killer to have less BP at the end of a match even with 2 - 3 escapes survivors have absolutely been conditioned to leave for that BP.
On-top of that, survivors blood webs are just awful, the pure amount of useless addons getting exactly what you want can take 4 - 5 bloodwebs.
As for now, a killer giving hatch 99% of the time it's because they've already killed the other survivors, and thus will ultimately end up with a lot more BP regardless of giving hatch.

I wonder if it simply comes down to increased prices of these licenses. ST was pulled when season 4 was on the horizon, which makes me think the license renewal price was probably increased and may have played a factor. If Bubba is going, it could be that the IP holders foresee renewed interest in the franchise and therefore the licensing fee has increased. DBD might not make enough Bubba sales in general to justify paying an increased fee.
Doubt it, Netflix pulled their license from multiple things, not just BHVR & Dead By Daylight, and with all of Netflix' talk about games as a service and doing their own games, it's blatantly obvious that it was a choice Netflix made themselves.

I have to laugh, Windows of Opportunity hasn't been changed in over a year, the only reason killers have an issue with it now despite being incredibly weak is because it's being used more... Just more proof that players will go after whatever ends up being used just because one side likes it, not because its strong.

As you yourself said: Have fun making up arguments with people about things they didn't say.

You can use it while the Killer camps. Survivors just want a handhold buff that allows them to use it from the Shack doorway with 0 risk/100% reward, while once again ignoring my point that buffing its range for Shack handholds makes it OP everywhere else.
Anyone going to discuss that? Or am I safe to assume I'm correct at this point?

Making the effective range larger is a buff. That's literally how buffs work.
And now you're saying it's a useless perk because you can't EZ the basement? And you have yet to actually refute my point that buffing it makes it broken everywhere else.

I see. You had no actual talking points so you went for 'I did not read it, lmao'. Too bad ignoring my points does not invalidate them.
How's this: Not every hook will have great ways to use Reassurance. Learn how to use it instead of asking for unneeded buffs that will make it OP.
No need to read your "points", can't imagine finding any logic from someone stating that you should just use the camping perk "when the killer isn't there". How do you not see that as entirely invalidating anything you say afterwards? You clearly want the perk to be beyond useless and that's fine, you're entitled to your opinion.
Also, as you keep bringing it up, please show me where I said to buff Reassurance, I'll wait.

Don't do it while the Killer is there?
You're basically asking to use a perk, risk free, that stops the Killer's one goal in the game. That's Survivors for you. 'This perk that literally freezes the Killer's one goal is not easier to use in the Killer Shack! Make bigger so we can do it frisk free!'
And making it larger would make it even safter on the other 99.9% of hooks, allowing Survivors to run by too far away to risk being chased or hit. Which, hey, that'd be the Killer's problem, I guess? As long as Survivors get their risk-free basement pausing.
Don't use the anti camping perk while the killer is camping?
I absolutely did not need to read any more of that after your first sentence, lmao.
-

Or you can take the risk by going down the stairs, instead of expecting the game to hand you hook delay with 0 risk.
I know being more than 5 meters from the God Pallet is scary, though.
Killers stand on stairs and then it's basically guaranteed death, and you don't even get to freeze the timer, but please, carry on, lmao.
-
@Stabby_Widdershins said:
Wait, so OP is upset they can't stand above the basement hook & pause their hook timer with literally 0 risk?
The Basement hooks are supposed to be the Killer's home turf; Why would a safe Reassurance exist there?
It's only 0 risk if the killer chooses to sit in the basement, and that's their fault isn't it?
-
Reassurance is utterly useless as it is, the time to get to from the generator that I hope you're working on 5 - 10 seconds, to pause my timer for 30 seconds, and then make your way back to the gen 5 - 10 means all it gives me is 10 extra seconds, if that, and if you're playing solo and can't communicate you're going for the safe then other people get off gens it's even more time wasted, at least previously one person could sit there and proc it multiple times until chased away, affording the chance for a save.
Since Reassurance came out it's been used on me less than 10 times and I'm pretty sure people just used it to use it.
-
Average kill rates have always been above 50% since they started doing stats every once in a while, the amount is absolutely nowhere near 30% of deaths are suicides.

The only thing that would cause your game to get a lock icon is if you let your ps+ subscription expire. You MUST have an active subscription to play ANY online game. It has nothing to do with the new tier system. If you have an ACTIVE ps+ sub and are srill having problems, sign out on your console then log back in.
If you went too long without an ACTIVE subscription, then you will lose your back catalog of free monthly games. I think they give you up to 3 months inactive before that happens, but don't quote me.
I see this as the most likely option, it's very possible they stopped a lot of subs when they changed over to the new system of tiers and cancelled yours after you didn't respond to an email or something, as services in the EU are from what I recall required to cancel subs after non-communication for a while I think.

I am bringing this post back from the dead in case it happens to somebody else I am still padlocked on DBD I have not had the opportunity to play the knight and the current event I have liaised with support since the end of November almost every day, they are useless it was sent to the specialist team whoever they are and they told me to go to the webstore and download from purchased?
They had been informed from customer support prior this was a psplus problem and give me that response. I then sent images they requested of the webstore psplus category, now I was told they were working on a resolution?
The last email I got from them was telling me to check my console because the images I sent are of the webstore? Unbelievable response I waited a week for that, I use the console on a daily basis after that reply I have almost given up.
It takes an hour to chat with an agent I get the impression they see your name and just keep you waiting because they are clueless to this problem. I wanted to buy the game in the recent sale, the advisor said there was no need as you will be back on in no time.
I really looked forward to the new killer and the xmas event its nearly a month and I am at the point now where I do not care its only a game and have moved on, I will not make contact again to them as they all need to be retrained, if this was any other company it would go under, they know the mugs, me included will continue to buy digital content.
I enjoyed the game since I been playing the last 12 months and was at 98% on the achievements not that I care for them hitting 1,500 Hours 60% playtime. Its back on sale £12.49 this time from £9.99 last month very cheeky in these times we live in ATM.
Not really anything to do with BHVR though, is it?
BHVR put their game on PS+ which would allow you to claim it forever, it is then on Sony to honour this, you should be contacting Sony about the issue as there is nothing BHVR can do. From the sounds of it, someone else had claimed it and had your Playstation set as primary and has now removed it as I've never heard of anyone losing access to PS+ games they'd claimed years ago etc.
If you love the game i don't see what the issue of spending £10 on it.

A killer queues in solo. There is no killer swf.
Besides having to deal with swf as a killer now we also need to deal with solo queuers having swf like features.
Good luck with queue times when people don't play killer as much.
And that's the role they chose to play? If you want to play with friends, message your buddies and queue for survivor.
SWF has never really been that difficult, sure there are some teams that will decimate but they're usually incredibly good players with 8K+ hours each, sorry but I do not care about SWF complaints as it's never stopped me enjoying killer.
"Good luck with queue times" - I'm sure I'll be fine, Killers have been the one with sluggish queues as of late, it's the reason 100% BP is 95% on survivors, because they need more, killers meta is more stale right now than survivors ever has been.

Terrible change from killers perspective. Why do solo survivors need such a buff?
The whole point is for nobody to have all this info when they solo queue so killers can have a chance and a break from highly coordinated toxic swf's.
The game is different to what it was 6 years ago.
