I am so glad you created the thread, and so fast as well!

We've been super excited to share this for quite some time.

I'm glad it's coming,! I'm really excited for this.

So, we're weighting the ~1000 max BP you can get from being carried once if the hook is sufficiently distant but not distant enough to get free

    vs

Potentially an achievement, and if this run is failed, the cost of two Iri addons (8000 BP minimum, ignoring all the other filler to have these come up).

From a purely economic perspective, it's a net negative (they have to spend another 8k BP) if you sit in the locker. From every other one, you're just timewasting.

Your argument has amounted to 'maybe I'll get 1k BP!' Really? You're going to sit in a locker for an hour over 1k BP? You could squeeze multiple games in there. You don't want someone else to maybe get an achievement or sense of satisfaction that much that you're willing to stop playing for an hour, and your justification is 'there's 1k BP in it for me in this game'?

"Potentially an achievement" - Okay, and where are my free achievements? I can't even get a glyph while injured in front of a killer most times, not sure why I'm going to be handing out 4Ks. Are you implying all survivors should give up and allow the kill to happen after the first tombstone, after all it is an achievement and it clearly has so so so much value... or something.

I'll say it here as I know killers love saying it, it isn't on the players of the opposite team to make sure you have fun, I do not owe killers anything and they do not owe me anything.

and why should I care how much they've spent on addons, it is their choice, I don't see killers caring about everyone's items when they're running franklins etc, the entitlement here is so funny to me I'm expected to care about a killers points they've spent, my friend and I brought in a flan and bps, flan, an item you literally can't get anymore and we were subsequently killed at below 10K points to a myers who already had the achievement.

and yes, my blood points are more important than someone else's achievement, I didn't get the achievement handed to me when I did it.

That's whataboutism. We're talking about a situation where you've already lost no matter what choice you make. You don't gain or lose any more BP based on what you do from this point.

The only thing that changes is if you get stabbed, or you get hooked. Myers may already have the achievement, but on the other hand he might not.

It's an interesting little ethical assessment, because your only option is whether you deny someone the chance to get a minor reward or not.

I get blood points for wiggling, it's in my best interest to be carried to a hook, and it's an interesting ethical assessment, not carrying survivors to the hook is only denying them the chance of a minor reward or not. Especially in the given scenario from the OP where the supposed person is the last alive implying the other 3 are already dead.

    or

    just accept the mori

I really don't see what you gain out of possibly denying someone an achievement when you can acknowledge you've already lost the game.

Like, it's a simple question: What. Do. You. Gain. Is there anything in it for you other than the idea that maybe you've stopped someone else from getting a little digital checkbox? You come out of the locker--you lose. You stay in the locker--you lose. You lose either way, so what's in it for you to drag it out five minutes, ten minutes, an entire hour, other than denying someone else a specific achievement?

If you lose either way and there's no point difference, what is there to defend.

I already posted a picture of me getting tombstoned yesterday by a Myers, I had BPS (my swf friend had a flan) because I was doing the 50k BP challenge where was my leniency when he moried me at 8K lmao? Ima do as much as I can to get as much bp as I can, and guess what? They already had the achievement so idk why I'm supposed to just throw points away because achievement or something lol.

if you've been in the locker for over a minute in this stand-off, you don't have DS†, and if you have head-on, why aren't you using it? You're constructing a very elaborate scenario here where the Michael is carefully out of head-on range this entire time and there are distant hooks.

As I said, unless the map position is very favourable, there is nothing to be gained from squatting in a locker for five minutes except to deny the mori. You have no reason to deny the mori except being petty, as this is an achievement that has a pretty massive factor of the Survivors playing along--it's really easy to get into a locker if you don't care about being stealthy as soon as the terror radius announces itself.

And people do this all the time even if there's no chance they're wiggling free from a hooking. It's not like there aren't videos of this build, and Survivors will jump in the shack lockers of all things. Or lockers right next to a hook. There is no chance of the Survivor winning in this situation except the Killer letting them, so why not let them get the mori? It's not like you get stabbed IRL. Killer might get the achievement, everyone goes to the next game. No ten minute staring contest.

† Also, this is against tombstone myers going for a 4k via stabbing. DS is even less of a factor.

Yea sounds like the killer should have just pulled me out, and I've never seen a Myers in this stand off stand directly in front of the locker they're always a little bit away and off to the side, idk what's so elaborate about this scenario lmao.

Just pull from the locker it isn't that deep 🥰

Because the survivor in the locker has been checkmated. Not throwing matches to allow others to get achievements is not the same thing as already having lost and spitefully denying them.

I might have DS, I may have head on, I may be far enough to wiggle and get hatch - but of course survivors have to instead hand the kill to killer or it's toxic, lol.

Killers always say it isn't on them to make the match fun for survivor so why is it on survivors to make it fun for killers?

    hate·ful

    /ˈhātfəl/

    adjective

    • INFORMAL
    • very unpleasant.
    • "I don't have to stay in this hateful place"

Also, it’s unfortunate that’s all you got from what I said. Have a nice Holiday!

I guess using a tombstone is very hateful then as it is unpleasant to be instantly killed in dbd, I hope your holiday is swell too!

  • @RainehDaze said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3298703#Comment_3298703

    why wouldn't you?

What are you actually achieving by denying them the kill that way? "Hah, ######### you!" is a terrible reason to do something in a game, and it's at best petty. It's outright spiteful if you're willingly disregarding that they might be after the achievement (after all, I haven't tried to get it yet, so that'd be on my mind if I was playing Myers) and force them to choose between wasting their time or having to do this again to a different team

Seriously, unless there's a very strong chance that the hook layout will let them escape and find hatch (rarely the case), there is absolutely nothing a Survivor stands to gain from this situation except maybe ruining someone else's achievement. Kind of pointless.

They can hook me, they aren't being denied anything, I'm always going for achievements in matches, why aren't the killer being nice and letting me do them instead of tunneling me out?

  • @MeanieDeeny said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3298010#Comment_3298010

If they are outside the locker and have already found you, you’re staying in there only because you’ll feel like they “won” by mori’ing you…even though they already have. So you’re doing it to be hateful. I think it’s bad sportsmanship on the survivor’s part.

i recently had a Steve do this to me at Midwich and it was so annoying. Probably he had the same mentality as you, it’s cool though I just grabbed and dropped him a couple times until there were no lockers for him to run to, and then mori’d him 🙂

you guys throw around words like hate far to easily, honestly why would I let a killer insta mori me who has just killed my entire team in the same cheap way. Either way they still get the kill whether I hop in a locker or not.

  • Why are we using websites like NightLight to dictate what needs changing lmaooooooooooooooo

  • Lol case in point, just happened to me.

    DeadByDaylight-Win64-Shipping 17-12 1671314997.png image.png

Already has the achievement and is still running infinite tombstone yet a survivor would be shamed because they hid in a locker bc "muh achievement"

  • @HugTheHag said:

It's bad sports on the part of the survivor to deny the achievement, but the game rules are not about being good sports. If they were, plenty of BM iterations would be bannable.

Killer could absolutely end the game, but chooses not to.

So my guess would be it's on killer.

I have VSed many myers who are infinite tombstoning and upon checking their achievements already have it, this is why I use lockers now, because more often than not they aren't doing it for the achievement, then again - I've never been allowed to do anything to get my achievements.

I think it's simply unfair to assume it's to "deny an achievement" nobody knows if the survivor is trying to get an achievement or if the killer is genuinely after it as well.

  • Survivors are supposed to survive, getting out of the locker means dying.

Killers are supposed to kill, and can automatically shoulder a survivor by pulling them out of the locker, I would put it entirely on the killer imo as one is asking the survivor to surrender and die, which would fail their objective, the other is simply hunting for an achievement or is just wanting to mori everyone but still has the option to hook from a locker grab.

It is a real issue though. The thing with subtle hack is that they are meant to be hidden so you can only guess if they were legit or not. Not to say every good player is cheating but sometimes it feels a little too good. Sometimes it's pretty obvious though

It is a real issue, it just isn't nearly as prevalent as people think it is, I get accused of cheating semi-regularly but I usually only play while streaming, you're welcome to see the accusation and the video of the match to see how someone could come to the conclusion that I cheated.

People are far too confident to call cheating or hacking when a lot of people just don't, it's likely easier for them to think they lost to a cheater than admit they just had a bad game.

I doubt it. For something to get killswitched, it has to be massively game breaking (like the IH bug) and this is more just a silly, janky bug on a pretty meh killer.

I mean it completely prevents pallet saves, wiggling & flashlight saves.

It does "break" a few mechanics.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3292894#Comment_3292894

AFAIR. Not a conclusive statement of fact. Tentative. Which is why I asked for clarification. And I wasn't far off - and if you really want to stick on this one, I'd wager dollars to donuts that if you clipped off the bottom 20% MMR, it would look very different. Because I see an obvious duo, at least, maybe 2 in 3 games if I'm playing my better killers.

Although I suppose I should be grateful that you've shifted from strawmanning to petty point-scoring.

Oh wait - nope, there's the strawmanning again. For the...third? Fourth? time now, I'm saying that the counter to Eruption is letting go before someone gets downed. This will be a judgement call. Empathy, Bond and similar allow you to make this call more accurately. Not *perfectly accurately 100% of the time* because that would be silly. And you're the only one saying that.

    HELP you. Not guarantee you.

    Sigh.

Not sure how much clearer I can be here.

It makes it more likely. I run Emp pretty much baseline, and I can definitely say it *helps* me deal with Eruption, when it's in play (maybe 1 in 5 or 1 in 6 games). Sometimes I get unlucky, or make a mistake (I'm not the best survivor in the world, by any means) but I'd say I can avoid it at least half the time if I'm attentive.

The other counter to Eruption is just not getting downed too often - in which case it does absolutely sod all. Which is why I don't run it much, as it's a 'win more' perk that can be a wasted slot if you find yourself outclassed, while stuff like CoB is a lot more reliable.

    lmao, I'm done

"If you manipulate the stats for me, I'll be correct... probably".

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3292882#Comment_3292882

It's absolutely not pure guesswork. You can see the aura, and if you know roughly what they're doing (looping, dropping a pallet, using an Ex etc.) you can make some decisions.

Never said 'accurately'. If I could, 100% of the time - then the perk would be useless.

...Why do you insist on strawmanning literally everything I say?

And ah, it's a splitting of hairs there. About half play solo, and about half play in SWFs. I'd also guess that it becomes more SWF prevalent at higher MMRs. When are those stats from?

Excuse me, didn't you state that "AFAIR most people play in SWF" and I proved you wrong, where are your stats from, I provided where my statement derives from but it seems you... completely made something up to help your argument, yes?

What are you talking about "If I could 100% of the time then the perk would be useless" no no, I want to see you run empathy or bond and call out every time the survivor is going to go down as you're saying this is possible essentially.

Again, I didn't strawman anything, you said empathy and bond will help you know when someone is about to go down (it literally won't, lmao) so no strawmanning.

"Splitting hairs" is a funny way of telling me that I'm right and you're wrong and you have no way to prove your "stats" despite demanding mine.

The stats are from Peanits, of course, unlike yourself, I don't make things up to benefit my argument.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3292833#Comment_3292833

Uh...that's most of the game, mate. Judgement calls. Educated guesswork. Yes, there will be times when you get it wrong, or get unlucky - but what are you after here? If you could counter a perk 100% of the time reliably, that perk would be useless.

But okay. Let me try to explain.

There are 2 matchups in this game. Solo versus Killer and SWF versus killer.

If the game is balanced around solo, then SWFs can be outright unbeatable. So you need to balance around SWFs.

Also - nope. AFAIR, more than 50% of people play at least in duos. Where are you getting the 'most people played solo' stat from, exactly?

"That's most of the game, mate" What are you actually talking about? Guessing when someone might go down based on an... aura is not a "judgement call" it's absolutely pure guesswork, there is no "judgement" involved because seeing a survivors aura isn't even close to enough information to make a judgement call on when they're going down. I would love to watch you play and see you accurately guess when every survivor is going to go down.

And a duo isn't any better than a solo anyway as there are still two other survivors that can go down without communication, and the only stats they've ever given us on SWF numbers is this

    image.png

How about you tell me where you're getting YOUR numbers from.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3292800#Comment_3292800

This game is not, cannot be and should not be balanced around solo players. If BHVR want to give solos some information that would be cool - but the current balance philosophy revolves around the SWF/Killer matchup.

And yes - use perks like Empathy or Bond to give you an idea of what someone is doing in chase, and you can often make a judgement call on when to let go.

Neither of these do anything at all?

lmao you're kidding right? I've literally seen survivor do the pallet drop animation with empathy and then go down due to the connection, your idea of "counter" is guessing, you must have been a spirit main in a past life.

Most people used to play solo, the only reason it isn't like that anymore is because of things like this.

  • I'm 90% solo, please enlighten us on the counterplay.

Wait, aren't you the person that implied you can "just see them if they are about to go down" as if the entire game is on some 30 square meter empty field?

  • @DashMonsta008XV said:

Umm it's not a power trip, I'm just playing as the killer because it's fun for I've never gotten a sensation only a satisfaction

But yet still you get a Sprint burst out of Dead hard which could become a third when it's paired with the anti septic

And yes Boiled Over with the hook spread offering becomes very damn powerful,so your forced to slug and yet here's something else survivors complain about you take away my only option to put you on a hook but then complain about being slugged and now you want the 25's removed so you can jump right back on a gen while chase another for a minute or more

God why to killers do this?

"you tank a hit with dead hard, then you get away for free because sprint burst with hit, and we all know survivors are really well known for running pink / purple medkit addons".

Ok so eruption hits a gen for 10 percent (but it's actually 12.5% because he kicked it to proc eruption) but then also eruption can be on multiple gens so it could be anywhere between 12.5% and 87.5 because if he kicks all 7 gens it'll effect all of them, then but before eruption procs he could also have call of brine enabled which would regress then gens while survivors aren't on them, and then after he downs someone and procs eruption on every gen (it's obviously happening every game) it'll then proc pain res on another gen, and of course he has dms so that gen also gets locked off.... yada yada yada

I don't care, survivors run Dead hard, boil over, Adrenaline, and some weird obscure perk that the get way to much value out of killers start with four perks and end up using 3 only

If you are a red grade swf then ,I really don't care because it's red and that's hard mode it's supposed to be tough not just for oneside.Anytime a killer gets value out of any perks it has to be nerfed and make the killer work harder. How are we supposed to have fun if we're constantly stressed, playing survivor is a breeze no real stress their only when you really want to escape.

Did you just complain about... boil over, and Adrenaline... a perk that gets a single use in the entire match... and Dead Hard a perk that was "only a problem because of the distance" that now doesn't give distance.

And even if I was "red grade" SWF, it wouldn't matter as Grades have never been an indication of skill as you can't de-rank out of current grade so are entirely irrelevant...

Funny, I don't get stressed playing either side but I also don't play killer for some weird power trip sensation.

    Good lord.

Do you understand how this game works? It's all about time.

If you are hit with eruption, it pops the gen, the gen also regresses for those 25 seconds, if I go away and look for a totem, wait for the 25seconds to be up, then do the totem for 14 seconds, then make my way back to the generator it could have regressed all the way, could possibly be inflicted with Eruption yet again, hit with pain res, call of brine, a whole heap of stuff.

So your most likely will find a totem in 25 secs ? ,I guess that's why I find chests back to back

What? But at the end of 25 seconds you'd also just be able to get back on a generator... You're like "do something else" if you find a totem in 5 seconds, you're still blocked from doing it for a further 20, you still cannot progress the game at all.

Welp, guess I'll get used to it then, that's as good of a reason to not care about the lime green that I could have been given.

  • @Mandy said:

I will be updating Avatars - will be removing a lot as well as we are running out of space for everything. It also needs to be sustainable long term, each chapter with at least two characters, at least 6 perks and each one of these avatars have to be created.

I may drop the perk avatars completely, have all the characters that I can, plus have some charm ones in there. It's something I'm hopefully going to have completed by the end of next week, but as you see in the screenshot we have some people away at the moment so I don't fully have the time to complete everything on this, would have liked to have had them ready for the forum upgrade but that wasn't feasible. I'm hopeful by the end of next week they will be ready, that's my target date at least.

Even sports have rules against unsportsmanlike behaviour when they're a proper competition and could benefit from the psychological wars, why is it that games, which are played for fun, get a pass when people play more to crush the opponent's morale than to have a fair and fun game?

Like, I'm glad you found friends to which you can sit on their face whenever you play a board game and win and all of you seem to be okay with it, but that's not civiliced behaviour and should not be encouraged, even less so when you don't know the people you're playing against or their stories. People could be ruining the one thing that provides someone happiness by behaving like that.

I don't know. I just don't understand the "grow up", "grow a spine", "be a man" mentality. Everyone has more fun when no one plays like an #########. Why is people trying to defend playing like a massive 🍆

"Tbagging" in dbd isn't even t-bagging as it requires the other person to be on the floor below them, the comparison to actual t-bagging is so utterly ridiculous that you have to genuinely laugh, it has never actually been t-bagging unless a killer does it to a downed survivor, it's just crouch spamming.

and yes, real life games that are taken seriously have rules against these things big whoop, dbd is a goofy party game and you are allowed to take it as seriously as you want but you can't dictate how others play, all these comp games, tell me which ones punish spam crouching in the ranked / casual matches, because cs go, halo, valorant etc none of these games punish for non-tournament crouch spamming.

It's a hard stretch to think it's a perk to spit in survivors when all it does is countering tbagging but Okey.

I don't wish you harm I wish you to stub your toe wich I wish for everyone saying they like to bleed out people

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3286045#Comment_3286045

And it's actually nothing serious. It's a quite common thing to say where I am from when you have a disagreement with someone it's not even something you actually wish it's more like urggh I'm annoyed we can't come to terms here. (sorry don't know how to discribe it better in englisch)

I hope you don't actually think I want you any harm

A hard stretch? Did you read ops posts, HE LITERALLY SAID HE WANTS TO SPIT ON PEOPLE

    " but okey " lmaoooooooooooo

Yeah ur definitely a person I wish they hit there toe next time they get up

I wish no ill will towards yourself and hope you have a great day.

I find it funny how you speak of toxicity in dead by daylight Because of players spamming a button but both you and op want to either spit on players or wish harm upon them. The mental gymnastics you must be doing right now to come to the conclusion that you're in the right here must be Olympic levels.

Sure sugar boy congrats on being a beast of a killer.

You know who are the only people that are against a change or make fun of a change that does nothing but eliminating something that gets used to be toxic? People that do it

And so what if I tbag? The op literally said they want to spit in people's faces, I would take every game I ever play until the end of time having the person who bested me tbag me than be spat in the face, but it's ok you can continue to defend this person.

I am a fantastic killer, thank you 🥰 gunna go tbag some survivor as ghostie now while I bleed them out for 4 minutes. 🫡

  • me t-bagging my survivor randoms i get queued with just to be perma locked in game and die.

The fact this person wants mori + exposed on someone who is literally locked in the trial by their description of the perk has me laughing.

It's not even about getting upset or not it's showing the guys that do it to taunt that it works cause the killer comes they can show of there little brain dead dance and so they will continue and others will see it and start doing it so I have to walk all the way to the gate just to get out of a game that is already finished.

And since your ego isn't so fragile you should have no problem with that perk idea cause you would never do such a thing and even if you would do that your ego would take no dmg from getting killed by that perk right?

What has running a perk got to do with ego? Most of the survivors I Vs are dead before the exit gates are powered so I'd get no use out of it anyway.

"so I have to walk all the way to the gate" my guy, you're acting like it's time consuming to hold W for 15 seconds in a direction as opposed to waiting 2 whole minutes, you guys sure are dramatic.

In other word giving the survivor exactly what they want and why they do it great idea

thankfully my ego isn't as fragile as most on this forums so it doesn't upset me at all.

  • I have a better counter and it doesn't even use a perk slot.

As a killer you can hold W towards the exit gate and it magically makes the survivors leave, I know I know, sharing this secret is grounds for execution.

  • I'd take these addons over some dumb stuff like alch ring and compound 22, if a perk can exist without being op (blood warden as an examples) then an addon definitely isn't overpowered.

  • As annecdotal as my experience is, I think I've met less than 10 survivors who guide the killer to other survivors etc, this is in like, 6600 hours.

  • Again, how exactly am I coping? I don't mind who has the bonus, but everyone I have ever spoken to, or seen talk about it, has always talked about how it's always on the survivor side? lmao.

You are quite literally the first and only person who I have ever seen say it's always on the killer side.

The thing is i regardless of the situation with the survivors in the game in question the fact that 3 pallets have spawned so close together, and i assume there is a window there aswell, is something that shouldn't really happen. I have noticed recently that more pallets have been placed on every may and every map feels more and more like the game. I had a game on Lery's yesterday which used to be a map that used to be more window heavy but now feels like there is equal pallets to windows. Wherever a pallet could spawn it does spawn it feels like. This also happened on Macmillian and badham preschool where there were pallets spawned so often that you could connect 4 - 5 loops at a time.

Now i'm all for having pallets on the maps but it just feels like devs have added way to many to each map and this new map is over the top. Saying there is a bugged tile doesnt really account for the whole map unless that tile is used for every tile of the map.

Little secret I don't think many killers know, sometimes when you go to a loop, there isn't even a pallet there, and sometimes these loops are chained together, and that's fine.

yes he was heading here. Had the server said foul on me hitting him before the first pallet. He would have been more than safe.

So this incredibly strong section was so strong that you left a pallet down instead of breaking it, as you say they were heading here so it wasn't them that dropped it, this map is notoriously bad anyway but I'd have been interested in seeing the the rest of the pallet spread.
