It's so you don't just stay injured and forgo infection entirely.
I wouldn't be against the 8% being outright removed but I understand the reasoning behind it.
100% though, infection should be entirely removed upon unhook.
-
What edgar said + xeno is just better nemi.
-
Just remove the 4% and skill checks at stage two. It's extremely easy to do and if people have to go like any other game they can eat the miniscule dc penalty this game has.
-
Why should killer be some fantasy horror god? This isn't a horror game, the licenses dbd holds doesn't mean anything.
-
I do it every once in a while. It's not because of ego, it's to balance out the strength of ring/green speed to a degree. An excuse to run it.
Alch-ring/green-speed is the most you can have on blight, it's just too strong to keep the game tense at all unless you remove all but a little aura reading from your perks.
c33 on the other hand idk, that add-on is just the game on easy mode. Running c33 means you don't want to try at all to win. No idea why someone running that would also be running shadowborn+bbq.

Do people really believe the game needs more killers on the level of Blight? I knew this specific forum was biased but my god.
No but only because they couldn't design a power to have any interactivity and be fun to face while being that strong again. At least I highly doubt it.
The add-ons at their current level can literally over double his strength. Alch-ring/green speed is roughly a 200-250% increase in power level not in a vacuum. Iri-tag/Alch-ring is roughly 400% power level increase in a vacuum. Imagine if wesker had stuff like that, it'd be the same story.

Yep, c21 blight is the only great way to delete distortion.

No for the love of god and all that is holy leave it alone. They already ruined so many perks on both sides, enough lol
It's balanced. As a perk that often times is a wasted slot, just leave it be.
The perk is gameplay denying

If it's regarding bp then yeah! Bp is worth nothing.

Ah, I'm glad to read this, my friend.
You would've loved them, I'm certain of it. They were leagues ahead of the maps we have today, especially in terms of horror.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3618236#Comment_3618236
All extremely important for a Trapper main, I'm sure :)
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3618240#Comment_3618240
Well, this is your opinion. It is a valid opinion, of course, and I'll respect it as long as you respect mine, but I don't think it can be stated as a fact.
It just doesn't ring true for everyone. Want an example? Me.
I dislike what DBD currently is, but I loved what it used to be. The Old DBD was one of the best games I've ever played and I watched it slowly become something I despise. But there are people who enjoy the current state of the game, and I can bring back aspects of the game I loved without hurting their experience. I don't think anyone would genuinely oppose the idea.
And besides, it doesn't have to be a classic mode. I was just brainstorming a few ideas, but a classic pack or adding the maps back into rotation also works. Maybe an offering that specifically takes you there... I would use it every game.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3618241#Comment_3618241
That would be good. It isn't enough, in my honest opinion, but it sure is a step in the right direction.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3618247#Comment_3618247
That I believe they have to do anyway, because they are awful in terms of atmosphere.
But still, I have a connection and the old maps. Many players out there feel the same. I don't think it is okay to just... let the old maps go.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3618254#Comment_3618254
The problem, my friend, is that those huge map reworks have already happened. No one asked for them, no wanted them, and all they did was make the maps worse. At least in my opinion.
So what I am looking for is to fix both problems at the same time. The old maps are missed by many players out there and they had an excellent horror atmosphere. You bring them back without straight up removing the reworked ones and everyone wins.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3618264#Comment_3618264
Both.
Something has to be done with the reworked maps because they simply lack the horror atmosphere DBD has to have.
But I want the maps I loved back. I really really do.
I respect your opinion but I know it's not worth in the devs eyes if they don't split it into something they can monetize. I would hate og dbd, I'm just ok with current dbd. 1300 devs can't work on regular dbd at more than a snails pace, they can't add these old things even if it was a click of a button. Splitting player bases is not something devs will do unless they have enough of a player base to do so.

I think you are missing the points
5k hours players need to tunnel?
I stopped caring about bp too much at 200 hours, you missed my many points.
-
Hmm I understand how you feel and know how powerful nostalgia can be, but those old game modes were build for a horror party game which dbd is no longer either.
Things like wow classic play to peoples emotion because they were there AND modern wow is trash all around(Just like anything blizzard owns). Modern dbd on the other hand is better objectively, not because it's so much more fun but because it's far more replayable.
Also, dbd doesn't have large enough playerbase or devs who move faster than a snail in order to work two separate games at the same time. I know for a fact classic wouldn't be just some game mode, that's never how it's worked anywhere else.
-
Shadow step is too map dependent, god on lereys but trash on eeyrie.
So CoH, it even has that new aura reading built for randoms.
-
How are we still bringing up bp in regards to balance? Few care that much about bp.
@Rudjohns said:
The only way to stop tunneling is actually changing how the Bloodpoints/EXP works
Like it was suggested here, hooking the same survivor back to back should not grant extra points.
Hooking different survivors should grant more points, like having a multiplier
Without going too deep, some scenarios examples for my idea:
Scenario 1: Killer hooks survivor 1, then 1 again, then 1 again, then 2, then 2 again, then 2 again, then 3, then 4. BP at the end: 2000. Entity displeased.
Scenario 2: Killer hooks survivor 1, then 2, then 3, then 4, then 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4. BP at the end: 50000. Entity pleased
Scenario 3: Exactly same as above, but each survivor is hooked only twice and they all escape. BP at the end: 40000. Entity still pleased
A win condition for DBD should be a fun match, not just kill everybody.
And of course, for survivors is the same thing. Just staying on gens will not grant a good amount of BP.
With all being said, people can still tunnel, but would be worth it?
Bro I have been at bp cap for basically a year. If I ever tunneled that wouldn't impact me. It definitely won't impact the 5k hour players who have everything but p100 on every character. I have 500 hundred+ of every blight add-on from 2 years ago and enough brown med-kits to run for forever on sheeva. The goofy prestige number means nothing to me as it only means time not skill.
There's no downside to implementing your idea but there are players like me who couldn't care less but they also hard tunnel every match.
Anyway. Basekit 5 second ds only after first hook with the caveat that UB doesn't work while this basekit feature is available. That's a good start. Hooks outside of end game could even be PH cages, that may help too.
Imo it's really weird to me how so many people hate tunneling but the majority love chase. I feel if survivors got a 3man out in exchange for dying every game they would be fine with it, I know I would. You can never remove tunneling but you can make the killer lose for it. I'll go 0 and 5 in league if it means I cause enough pressure for my team to stomp, the problem is when they don't use that pressure. That does tilt me. If I'm being tunneled for 5 min straight and there's anymore than 1 gen left I'd be tilted off that. That is a player problem though. DBD really suffers from it's player base, unfortunately.
I think a good portion of players want to not get tunneled and not do gens so they can mess around to an extent, that's all well in good but killer players don't want to feel they only win because survivors were messing around. I don't tunnel so I couldn't care less if there was a 10 second ds basekit. I just know how I thought when I was relatively new and know most killer players probably think in that same way even the thousands of hours players.
If I can help it I go don't go for people until two other people(idealy 3) have been hooked and they are fully healed (something unreasonable to ask from 98% of killer players). But sometimes a person I just hooked last will pressure a with a flashlight, not much of an option left for me after that. BUT when a survivor decides to use basekit bt against me even though I very rarely go back to hook unless I can't find people, they are getting tunneled, they just illegally used their anti-tunneling right against me and they can't expect me to be that gracious.
-
I know it won't happen but I would like to see how strong speed would be if they were made additive before outright removing the effect.
Also PLEASE make soul chemical real. As much as people dog on blights broken add-ons, he has a few of the worst add-ons in the entire game as well(specifically his learning add-ons).

It's literally 100% survivor bonus like 90% of the time. Solo players get the short end of the stick because the game is horribly balanced.
It's always killer before 4pm and after 11pm for me.
The game isn't as horribly balanced as you make it out to be. It's simply mmr not functioning, incentives to not play the game being in place and people just not playing to win. You can't balance around that garbage. Is blight with his add-ons too strong especially when tunneling? Yes. Is 90% of the killer roster and playerbase too strong when tunneling? Not really. I have probably 300 hours of survivor under my belt and even when being tunneled rarely have less than a 3 man out. I'm not defending tunneling I don't do it and it could be removed. You can't balance around people not wanting to win though, that's the essence of solo queue. Killlers typically are trying to win or just messing around completely due to the nature of the role. There's a good chance one survivor is just not playing to win.
Also 4man solos are likely not too common, swf was taking up nearly 50% of the survivor playerbase before I started playing dbd years ago, I see no reason why that number wouldn't increase. Having a duo in a game is more likely than 4 solos for sure.
-
@mecca said:
Killer sided game. Noticed how the incentive has been 100% survivor throughout the event? Why would anyone want to play an unbalanced match as survivor?
Nope. I only play past 11pm so I get survivors who know how to play the game. 100% killer always :)
You likely play during high survivor hours such as 4-10, When most friends are playing together. Solos end up getting a very short end of the stick during that time.
Games do seem unplayable when one survivor is mismatched due to autofill and/or doing challenges. That's what happens when your are down half a player off the bat.
-
-
I couldn't care less if noed was deleted, haven't used it in over 2 years now.
But I agree it's on the same power level as resilience. I think I have lost once(as in less than 3 escapes) to a noed user and that was because the totem spawned where they hooked.

Literally the tone shift is so obvious because I made a discussion months ago about the perk and practically NO ONE thought it was a problem, plus killers with iron will nerfed what is the issue with finding survivors? You know if stacks run out fast anyway people can hide in lockers right? You know if someone is healing another person with nurses BOTH have to be running distortion and that's very situational and even then you still hear the healing or crying, unless you want bite the bullet nerfed too. Aura perks stacked on one another burn distortion so fast I'm not kidding.
c21 blight is about the only thing that can consistently burn through distortion, don't kid yourself.
It's not op but it's poorly designed. An all encompassing aura reading denier that half the time hurts the teamates of the user. 1 survivor perk should never be countering 2+ killer perks, that's just asinine.
Bringing nurses calling up is dumb because the perk isn't even halfway meta.
I'd rather buff distortion to 10 stacks than ever see IW back to it's old self, no perk has ever given more free value than IW. That perk was peak trash design.
Chase is fun, hide and seek is not. Only the 2016 dbd players disagree with that.
-
I've been playing killer a bit again recently.
I've been in end game with 3 people alive and full health 3 times. I have yet to get less then a 3k.
Never give up on killer, survivors make huge mistakes even when they are exceptional. SWFs always want to get more out then they know they are capable of.

Then DS should not be a free escape, and should warn the killer when the survivor is going to grab have it active. Same with endurance, should not be a free health state and warn the killer that the survivor has endurance. Deliverance should also not be a free unhook, so the killer should be warned so it doesn't hook that survivor...
Can you see the flaw of your logic?
Chases ending so entirely outside of your control is lame. Blood favor and dissolution should never be good. Steak is right.
-
Maybe they should double down and remove suicides because obviously that's what it's used for now and not the mythical kobe.
I haven't seen a single valid argument against keeping the option to leave the game with dc penalty.
It even only works on the survivor side too, which genuinely is the only thing I will us vs them. If bhvr wants to keep this non sense in but have it only be valid for one side. It's just beyond disgusting.

True, the med-kit really had pizzaz when you slapped two add-ons on a green med-kit and healing in 8 seconds. They were always lame, it's just terribly boring now that you have to wait a decent amount. Nobody wants to hold right click for 24 seconds, it just can't be helped.

And you are? If not even a "Dead by Daylight Player" why bother voicing your opinion just to belittle players. 💀
I am a dead by daylight player but my experience in pvp games is far far more expansive than most dbd players, I also don't hold unreasonable biases like dbd players do on average which is exclusive to the nature of a game like dbd. The only things I truly discuss about are blight(whom most people don't understand to a valid degree) and leaving the game freely.
Equal interactivity through knowledge is the most ideal form of a pvp game, all 3 of these techs are a prime example of it, especially in dbd where interactivity on both sides at the same time is somehow a rarity.
People need to get it through their skulls that just because devs didn't entirely mean for a mechanic to exist in their game doesn't it doesn't deserve it's place.
Oni's 180 for example is at worst a 50/50 but not entirely, it can be predicted and has a few spots you can choose to be in when you think he is going for it. The simple fact of knowing the oni is capable of performing a 180 unlocks both parties to perform to a higher degree. Once the survivor reciprocates counter play to the oni playing on a higher level, more mind games ensue. Even though I haven't played oni in a decent amount of time now I know that a 180 literally blinds you and is a full commitment once inputted.
You call it belittlement but it's just hard to watch people make these posts like "exploit" is a valid argument for anything. No discussion, just a statement and a shutdown of argument. Making a statement and shutting down discussion is akin to not posting at all. Far worse than making a pompous statement justifiably as I did.
-
It's so funny viewing dbd players from the outside. Having 0 sense of anything outside their little bubble.
All 3 of their techs are fine.

So... You dont want to sweat, but you want every game to be a win?
But aside from that - Killers are not happy when Survivors use gen-focussed Perks. Killers are not happy when Survivors use Chase or Second Chance-Perks. And apparently Killers are not happy when Survivors use Stealth-Perks. Now, there is not much left aside from Self-Care to be honest, lol.
The thing is, the current Killer-Meta involves A LOT of tunneling. More often than not, when you get found and hooked, you will have to deal with being tunneled afterwards. And ALL Anti-Tunnel Perks are not really good. Neither of them. So the logical reaction is that you avoid being found.
Especially with strong Perks like Ultimate Weapon around.
I also dont like it, because I really dislike if people use Stealth-Perks, since I like to run Information-Perks. But as a reaction of the tunneling meta, I completely understand why more Survivors go this direction.
EDIT: More evidence for my point is that the remaining Perks are a Exhaustion-Perk AND an Anti-Tunnel Perk on each Survivor.
I think majority of players on both sides like chase the most, so I can see why people would dislike distortion.

It's not like he just got the speed buff some of his add-ons got nerfed as well as taking 2 more knife hits to injured. There's many chases where you could easily have shaved off 10-20 seconds with huntress or slinger.
You know, I don't think trickster is strong or anything but I would never start an argument by mentioning you need to hit 1/5th of your knives.
You really shouldn't be playing a character your miss your power more than 80% of the time.

You need to stand still in skull merchants drones while the thing is scanning you to not get a pip of whatever the thing is called.
You can autoaim blight into most pallets by crouching into the very corner of the high side of a dropped pallet.
You can "crouch tech" billy and demo by being on a lower level of elevation and crouching into their power.
You can reliably loop victor on medium sized trees just by running around them. The collision is a bit funky and makes him miss most times.
The timing for a pallet save is PICK..GRUNT(this is when you hear the survivor being put on someone's shoulder)..SLAM
You can just jump into a locker into trickers main event.
You can use chests and gens as well as lockers to stop yourself being tombstoned.
Nurse cannot blink through edgemap walls. Use those corners to your advantage.
"You can autoaim blight into most pallets by crouching into the very corner of the high side of a dropped pallet."
I would like to just add to this. Blight can mitigate this most of the time if he is coming from the right angle. If he comes at you from like a 70 degree plus angle he can shoulder flick and not get absorbed into the pallet majority of the time.
Also start going for plutos people, I never feel more proud of survivors than when they successfully and intentionally pull one off on me especially not at shack.
-
I would love to see 100% alch-ring/green speed vs 100% efficiency survivors. Nurse really does come down to human error so that is probably sided with her but blight would be interesting.
-
Very slight changes do not = rework.
-
Speed is fun. Shadowborn is worthless, but creates fun out of nothing.
Gonna have to find a new F tier perk to pick up here soon.
I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say here though. Speed add-ons are extremely strong on blight and you dislike wraith? Is that what were saying?
-
If the scale of expectation caps out at 10, bhvr was a 1 and moved to a 2. Absolutely nothing to praise with their dev count.
They listen, pick and choose their responses and then also pick and chose what they work on. Then there's a good chance they didn't actually understand or someone is too egotistical to correctly make a change just for it to end up terrible.
EXTREMELY slow changes combined with sub par results does not warrant praise.
No real base game changes, mediocre events, poor changes, SLOW.
Sadako failed rework that didn't make her more fun to play against, SM failed, Trickster failed, legion and ghost face reworks that were really just add-on passes and a couple basekit buffs. Perks get slowly rotated in and out of the meta at a crawl and half of them on survivor side have been meta forever.
They are more transparent when they want to be and I know they act faster then in the past but it's still nothing.
I might seem mad here but I'm really not, just disappointed.

Blight and oni or god forbid alch ring blight + oni.

People will just afk at the base of the hook, or even chase the killer. And you lose things like altruistically giving up on hook to allow your last standing teammate a chance at hatch.
The hilarious thing to me is that reducing tunneling would also cut down on giving up. Whenever tunneling is mentioned, the general sentiment is 'you can't punish killers, you have to incentivize them to tunnel less'. Then we get to something like this and the sentiment is 'oh it's survivors? Punish and perma ban them until it stops'.
Entity forbid that the meta gameplay actually be fun and people get to play the game. If you've designed a game where one team is explicitly designed to lose, and losing also gives a ######### gameplay experience, then I'm sorry but the gameplay is the only thing to look at here and the design sucks.
And for the record, that statement about wanting fun gameplay despite a crappy meta experience applies to both killers and survivors. The designed to lose part is the only thing that applies to only survivors.
Did you read my post, they could delete tunneling off the face of the earth and it wouldn't bother me a bit. I literally don't remember the last time I tunneled someone. I'm coming up on my two year anniversary of not kicking gens in a month. I haven't face camped since I played doctor 2 and a half years ago.
Just because I want hook suicides to go away, doesn't mean I'm so killer sided person. That 4% is cool when it happens don't get me wrong but it doesn't warrant leaving a free way to leave the game in for only survivors especially.
Like I said, the simple act of removing the ability the leave the game via self unhook will decrease people wasting their own time not playing the game. If a survivor walks up to me when I'm playing killer in a game I deem winnable for them, they are staying on the ground. If they want out eat the dc penalty.
-
Shadowborn if that counts
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Or, we can start removing all the things which make people suicide on Hook. Yes, this is impossible. But they can start removing the things which are obvious reasons, e.g. Skull Merchant needs a proper Rework. You will have people who will suicide when they are first downed. This cannot be prevented.
But at least the most frustrating things can be solved at some point.
Regarding your idea - wont matter. If someone does not want to play, they wont play. They might just eat the DC-Penalty or will AFK for 5 minutes.
For the last time you are just wrong "Regarding your idea - wont matter. If someone does not want to play, they wont play. They might just eat the DC-Penalty or will AFK for 5 minutes."
There are systems you can put in place that don't allow that behavior, you can argue it all you want but that is just fact. Many other games have those systems and all of those aspects can be implemented into dbd just the same, the genre/type of game dbd is changes nothing.
Even if they don't stop people from trolling until they get hooked 3 times in a row the simple act of removing the suicide option deters people from wasting their own time doing essentially nothing. They could just play it out and lose the same amount of time in their own minds.
You delete suicides and the overall trolling rate goes down by default.
Majority of suicides I see from the survivor pov is unwarranted and throwing a game that is survivor favored 65/35 as it stands in the moment they first attempt.
As always I think tunneling and camping should be dealt with properly but that won't do as much as you think it will.
