Then they sit here and complain about people leaving matches in whatever form they desire, to top it off they want them punished for not playing a match that isn’t entertaining in the slightest. You as a person are supposed to just sit there and take whatever abuse is given, game is supposed to be fun, not treated as if lives depend on it

^ person who has only played dbd as their most competitive game. I literally do not tunnel under any circumstance, but your leaving games early in any regard automatically disregards anything you say. The people on the forum complaining about dcs/suicides are either non tunneling/camping killers or survivors, but hey keep that mentality.

I truly hope you can come to be less selfish for both roles sake.

  • That kinda relies on the map too much though. If there isn't more than one los blocker then one safe blink is 100% a hit. Eyrie is a 95% of the time a nurse blinks for example.

That’s fair. I’m suspicious mostly because OP blamed specific things for his departure... Like common things players in these very forums complain about & say drive them away: 1. X killer (Trapper and Pig) isn’t ‘viable’ like Y killer (Nurse, Blight, Wesker or some other fairly strong w/high as hell kill rates killer)—even though all of those killers have similar kill rates. 2. Survivors leave matches prematurely instead of playing for the entertainment of others (DC or failing to escape when on hook; bonus points because he told us solo queue isn’t really that bad; it’s survivors ‘giving up’ for apparently no reason at all that is the problem). And while he did top it off by 3. insinuating his games aren’t fun anymore because (I’m assuming his killer games) aren’t challenging for him, I just don’t believe this was meant as anything more than the same buff X nerf Y dog whistle empty threat guilt trip to BHVR threads these posts always are.

2 of their points was from a survivor PoV, they had one short sentence from killer PoV. Like I get you have this deep rooted biased against any person who resembles a killer main, but it's literally every comment you make.

  • There's no need for nerfs but it can ruin a potentially really fun end game. When you run into quad adren, they tend to just sacrfice whoever is getting chased and leave. That's fine don't get me wrong and you definitely work around it but again, not interesting. It's why I am fine with UB now, it tends to just extend the fun parts of this game even if it's super strong when it does.

  • Yes, my friend bought and all 5 of us play together once in a while. It's fun. First game I won as blight by the skin of my teeth, but only because we didn't yet know you couldn't hit the same survivor in one round.

  • I remember when I said I would never run shadowborn as to not get addicted to it. Then I threw it on for a meme and now I have synthetically created motion sickness only when rushing on blight without shadowborn.

    So yeah, that one.

On survivor it's windows but man mft feels good, it will without a doubt get nerfed due to how strong it is though. It could lose the endurance part and still be S tier. Old me would be so shocked.

  • Good on you for doing the achievements! I don't even have blight adept and it's far too late for that.

  • @Komi said:

So because players have invested the time to play a killer in a way that they can face actual top competitive survivors and win, it means they should have it taken away? Im all for the idea that everyone should be allowed their fun but it goes both ways, the SkullM mains did nothing wrong but put their strength in late-game which should be allowed even if its "not fun". Personally I never understood the hate for long matches, sure 20min is the sweet spot but it isnt a mandatory rule.

Bro, if it takes the intense coordination of team eternal to defeat walking in a triangle and pressing space bar yeahhh. The killer did nothing special, they don't deserve those results. Little to no macro and almost 0 mechanical skill. Anybody can do that. It's an extremely dumbed down version of web hag, but is somehow better.

  • So what do you classify as solo queue? Because there's a higher chance of 2-4 swf than there is full solo queue. At least thats what the stats were a few years ago and majority of people get fully into this game via friends as time goes on, it's probably gone up.

    Just a question.

Oh yeah, it always player's fault. It's not Nurse who ignores all of core mechanics. Silly me. I am going to corner and shaming myself for being such a noob.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3489663#Comment_3489663

Yeah these killers are so rare.

That's why i am always getting daily Blight and Nurse whenever i touch to play survivor.

And i won't stop complaining about them unless devs fix them. I stopped complain about Spirit because she is fine now.

So we all should play SWF for having chance to against these busted killers. Is that your point? Are you solo? Just die and feed kill-rates already!!! Nice logic.

You missed the point entirely, you aren't going against good blights and nurses. There's far more good nurses than blights but it's a direct comparison to what you said about good swfs. Also I am not defending nurse, I dislike that killer.

I know you like to ignore half of each reply but hope you get it.

Sure I get it, everyone has their own take on what makes a good game.

I play DBD because I'm a fan of schlocky 80's horror films and the game shines when it feels like a schlocky 80's horror over a comp PvP game.

I wouldn't decry anyone for playing how they want, I just really enjoy the games that play out thematically win or loss.

Oh I get it, a lot of people who play dbd are just like you.

  • @pseudechis said:

    Depends who you’re playing.

As survivor it’s fun to have to flee from a vicious killer who will catch and kill you. Like a horror movie

As killer it’s fun to have a lot of leverage over the survivors and be genuinely threatening to them. Like a horror movie.

So as survivor give me the hardest meanest killer you can find and I’ll flee for my life and enjoy every moment.

As killer give me survivors who still flee from the killer rather than get in their face and try to waste time.

This is dbd at its most fun. Because I play for the horror movie experience not the competitive ego trip of winning.

I guess that makes sense. But the horror aspect of this game means nothing to be so survivors are always welcome to be in my face, although I wouldn't recommend it.

  • Excluding dcs and suicides from other players, I most definitely escape more than 40% with my duo(although he is moon-walking into the killer half the game).

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3489207#Comment_3489207

Okay, consider this. DBD is now a victim of it's own success.

If you get burnt out of COD, you can play Battlefield.

If you get burnt out of fortnite, you can swap to Apex.

If you get burnt out of DBD, you can play....DBD. There are no other games like DBD to turn to if you get fed up with DBD. DBD's success has killed all the competition off.

That doesn't mean the idea of not playing a game you don't like atm is not correct.

  • Has slugging become synonymous with slugging for the 4k with 2 people left? The most fun games I have ever had always had an all or nothing slug match in the end game. Slugging for early pressure or to ward off trailing survivors is perfectly fine as well.

  • @DBD78 said:

Perhaps let killer have 5 perks from start then when first survivor dies two perks at random just vanish making it better for killer to hook everyone rather than killing someone fast and just have 3 perks left. But survivors would need a buff before this or the "fair" playing killer would be a tad bit OP perhaps.

Ok but my shadowborne getting randomly yoinked would not be worth.

  • I love somehow being sent against central America/ Brazilians and being in 150 ping lobbies. I love when blight literally doesn't work, it's my favorite. I play the only killer in the game that is server sided, I stopped playing killer during the event because of it.

I do not agree with the 3rd point.

Sometimes, you get hard tunneled and you barely get any points because the Killer wants to remove you from the match. How exactly do you punish people who run to the Killer without punishing Survivors who are getting tunneled?

You didn't read my post right. I said outside of chase/hook/on the ground. It would be factored in by the minute instead of the whole match.

  • Double down and make it harder to troll/get out of games and you will see the people who do it often quit the game eventually leading to a healthier playbase.

    1. Make DC penalties harsher
    2. Remove self unhook and skill checks for second stage
    3. Add a system that starts giving you penalties when you get absurdly low points outside of chase/hook/the ground. Just to be safe lets say you need 50-100 hours for this system to start working

Now dcing is something you don't get to do for free twice a day and people can't get out of the game for free either. AFKing and trolling would also be negated this way. Yes, I get that it's frustating to go against SM and condemn onryo but just stop playing for the day.

Some maths: It takes 90 seconds to repair a generator solo. Cut that in half if repairing with one other survivor. BL1 is 15 seconds. BL2 is 25. BL3 is 35. 25 Seconds to down a survivor, about 7 seconds to hook them. Depending on perks like Eruption, Pain Resonance and Jolt, there's a good chance that survivors aren't making it out if you're getting a hook roughly every 32 seconds.

Each tier of Bloodlust is 5% haste. Made for This is 1% per tier. With just Made for This, a survivor will have a maximum base speed while running of 103%. At Bloodlust 2, a 115% killer goes up to 125%. That extra 10% means you're more likely to catch the survivor at a loop, or down them before they make a pallet or window.

I need a little clarification here. You just assume the killers will down the survivor instantly after getting BL2? Your excluding maps/chains and tiles in their entirety in your post. There's many situations where the killer needs to break a pallet or you know m1 you while healthy. Even if we take into account that the killer instantly hits the survivor after achieving BL2, that would still be 50 seconds.

3% means far more than 80% of the people on this forum hard defending mft will ever admit. I can feel it when I run mft every game and the 1 in 100 games I run c33 I can see it.

  • MFT is so much better than blood lust. If a killer really has to get BL 2 or 3 to down you, they aren't winning regardless.

I disagree, there was a design change, and I'm not even talking about the obvious like the whole conspicuous action category that was made specifically for it in later iterations. It went from a unique offense perk that activated after being grabbed (regardless of obsession or being dependent on being hooked) to getting mangled and cut up to fit the defensive "anti-tunneling" mold. It has never recovered and it's been ######### ever since they began overnerfing it in 2.x.x.

How is survs completing 5 gens the equivalent of a camping killer getting a free 1k? That's nothing alike. If anything, the deactivated nerf is a reward for being in a losing position, and makes it that much more possible for camping killers to get a free 1k even though they failed to protect generators. You can very much be put into that same lose-lose situation on surv even after doing everything right all game, not having to use DS during the trial, and playing with essentially 3-perks assuming you made it to endgame without using it. It did nothing to solve an actual problem, only swung the pendulum to the other team advantage.

3 seconds is way too short. You'd barely get through the drop animation which takes over half of that time just to complete. It's nothing for any killer with the slightest range or movement skills. 5 Seconds minimum. I do like the idea of DS doing a hard reset on killer power. I'm sure there is one killer I could be missing, but having it put their powers on a CD timer (akin to if they had just used their power) would be doable and might provide a possible alternative. Deactivation at endgame has to go tho in any meaningful buff to it, and that's a hill I'll die on. It might have been acceptable as a short-term solution to place hold until a better method came along, but it is not a long-term solution.

The Halloween content (Chapter 2, a paid DLC that costs actual money) in its entirety has gotten so weak over time from nerfs and just antiquated design that there is nothing to be feared from it's additions to DBD except STBFL, that thing does scare me.

You didn't read my comment. Talking about old DS is quite laughable though.

I said 3 second stun and then the killer gets their power locked for 3 seconds after. Copying someone previous in the post.

  • @Nun_So_Vile said:

Unfortunately, like any perk made to deactivate at a certain point in-game (lol, how atrocious), it will be dogshit cause it has no bite. I hope to be wrong, but I never see DS being meta again. In its current state, I don't believe making it activate 2x a match would make it inherently better. I'd start with reverting just about all of these half-baked nerfs it got, and the damage from devs trying to make the perk into something it wasn't designed as in the first place.

There was no design change. It got nerfed far more than it should have but the point of it's existence hasn't changed.

It being active in end game is equivalent to a camping killer getting a free 1k, no it shouldn't be like that.

Just make it lock powers for 3 seconds after the stun is done, there it's not the base-game changing perk it was.

The physical stun is 3 seconds but the killer is "power stunned" for an additional 3 seconds. Has virtually zero effect on a killer like Trapper but gives some counterplay to Blight, Wesker, or Nurse.

I put 5 seconds of thought into this, no idea if it's any good lol

I think that's a good change actually. People say nurse and blight like demo, ph and a lot of other killers can't right click right after the stun for the down.

  • Combine Clown and Dredge, but he is worse than both of them.

  • Never seen a stack like these that are good/playing to win. Not too worried, especially about the megs lol.

  • I reset every once in a while. I'll run nothing for a week and then only yellow speed for another week. Then a combination of c21, yellow speed, vigos and a little green speed. No habit in dbd has been harder to break than green speed for me.

  • I wasn't really under the impression bbq was meta. It's used a good amount, but I wouldn't even call it A tier.

  • Blighted Dwight and Dwighted Blight.

  • There's a good chance you are simply reading the killer better as time goes on. Understanding and remembering your opponents playstyle and tendencies is something both sides have in common and is one of the harder things in this game.

I am also with you on the not dropping things early. It's one thing to not use too many pallets early, it's another to not drop any out of greed. I find myself doing the latter my first game of the day.

  • @Shroompy said:

There are plenty of Survivor techs that have been in the game for years that are barely complained about yet have much more of an impact. Here a few just off the top of my head:

Trap Buffering: At first was declared a bug which was fix, and was intentionally reintroduced in a later patch

Crouch Tech: Makes some killers glide right off of you instead of landing a hit because of crouching at a surface that is lower than the killer (Most notable killers are Billy, Blight and Demo)

Window Tech: Allows you to phase through the killer while theyre performing a vault. Al though difficult and inconsistent, can still very much throw the killer off

CJ Tech: Vaulting into a locker, window, or most commonly a pallet to make the killer pick up a downed Survivor thanks to overriding the prompt.

Vault Tech: While the Wraith or Sadako are cloaked/demanifested, spam vault at pallet to force them to uncloaked/manifest.

Stagger Cancelling: Using a prompt (most commonly vaults) to cancel a stagger from either a drop down or killer power

Phase Tech(?): Using a map, key, or the perk Clairvoyance grants you the ability to lose collision with the killer.

Input Buffer: Allows the person to complete an action that they otherwise wouldnt be able possible thanks to your action taking priority. Most commonly shown with The Doctor with vaulting or dropping a pallet despite being shocked. Can also be done by getting a fast vault by buffering the input at an odd angle.

Then there are several other killers who have insane techs, way more impactful than hug tech will ever be (Not all of these are as strong as hug tech, but they are still clearly unintended and can still be very impactful depending on the situation)

Input Buffering: Similar to Survivors, but can be used with some killer powers instead. Most notable being Trapper who can place traps in places he otherwise wouldnt be able to, causing the trap to be shoved into the ground (only works on specific spots)

Curving: Utilizing certain obstacles, allows killers who have some sort of collision mechanic to slide right off of said obstacle despite running directly into it. Most notable examples being Billy, Demo, and Blight

Flicking: Allows certain killers to ignore their camera restrictions while using their power. Most notable being Oni or Pyramid Head

FL Cancel: Allows killers to cancel their powers due to being blinded. Most notable example being Legion

Locker Bend(?): Allows the Dredge to exit a locker at a different angle. Some what inconsistent and can leave him stuck inside the locker instead.

Drag Tech: Allows the Nemesis to drag his tentacles hitbox with him while moving.

Urobend: As Wesker, dash while looking in a different direction than youre going and then colliding with a Survivor will cause you to go into the direction your looking instead of forward.

Un named Tech: Looking up or down has a variety of different benefits for certain killers. Most notable examples being Freddy who can place Snares through walls thanks to this or Bubba who can hug some surfaces much tighter.

And finally the most loved tech of all which is still possible in certain places... Skybilly: Allows the Hillbilly to reach new heights when colliding and dropping with some obstacles at a certain angle.

Shroompy being the most based forum user^.

I'd like to see his add-ons changed first.

I don't trust the Blight mains about Hug Tech just being for fun and not good, but I'm willing to wait and see.

It's not that it's not good, it's just most of the time playing normally is simply better. Hug tech has far too much counter play. It's best use is mitigating rush usage and making unplayable tiles playable to an extent(cold wind tiles with nothing on up to three sides come to mind). Although it makes some filler tiles very blight favored.

Everyone else. You literally can't have a conversation with op, he just ignores everything you say and says "alch ring exploiter".

If you mean change a character with an already established / implied sexuality (like Felix) agreed, if you mean "change" because you assume everyone is straight that's a you problem.

(and im also gonna head out before the thread goes bad lol)

I don't assume anything, going back in adding something they never thought of when creating and adding to the lore of a character after so long is not real. That character was never even thought of in that light and any change to them now would only be disingenuous to the community. Many might disagree with me, but if you call claud homosexual for the sake of it after 7 years than yeah, that's dumb.

It was never part of the character, just barely an afterthought.

  • @JustAnotherNewbie said:

Boons are pretty bad atm. CoH is still decent in a SWF but got gutted for solo. I rather bring Bond than CoH to find people to heal and to heal me. It doesn't need set up, cannot be snuffed, is multi-purpose, is not stationary. Maybe they should make boons whole-map like hexes are now. They'd be salvaged that way.

I mean, all 3 boons would have to be nerfed significantly even dark theory if they were cross map. Boons always have the issue of having only 1, perk maybe 2 for counterplay. Expo is already strong in certain scenarios, way more than most people give credit for. The other two with map wide radius would be far too strong.

  • I really don't care too much, but when they go back and change characters for the sake of sexuality it seems VERY disingenuous. Change for the sake of change is always bad imo. Add new characters who can be crafted with their sexuality in mind, not just slap it on to old survivors with no real reason.

Any old survivors who get their sexuality changed/updated will only be to appease the community, not with any real creative/narrative intent.

Again, it wouldn't bother me because of the change itself, just that the I know the change itself only happened because the devs wanted to low effort add lgbtq survivors.

    I already regret saying this.

  • Saying prove is trash is an overstatement. The perk can make gens efficient when other survivors always hop on your gen because they don't know any better and when a gen needs to be done quick in order to win. It's about using it smart, not going out of your way to do gens together. Breaking a 3 gen with 3 people while the 4th is in chase can easily win a game, prove can make the difference to get it done.

Hot take: at least half of mediocre killers can't receive significant base kit buffs due to the nature of their kits. Nurse isn't that hard, even vs good survivors following a safe moveset can easily win you games. Survivors complaining about how often they see wesker don't realize that it's the equivalent of seeing the same survivor perks all the time as killer.

Not a hot take but they have gutted collision on both autohaven and MacMillan for the sake of wesker and it's so sad to see the best designed maps be destroyed for me personally.

Adrenaline vial is def too strong but people severely undervalue the negatives they don't even know exist because they have never used the addon. It's makes blight more map dependent as well.

This is so far removed from reality.

So say you use it in a chase and your last use was exposed so you know you're not getting it again. You either get a Sprint Burst which you could have been running Sprint Burst, you scream which is useless, or you get an item which does nothing to help you escape the killer.

The best the perk can be is B or C tier as it stands. And even if it was "A tier" so ######### what? Are A tier perks no longer allowed to exist? Or just for the role you don't like?

Listen I get you are survivor sided but I never claimed to say it was op. I SAID IT WAS A TIER.

My purpose on this forum is to give my opinion on few things other than DC/Suicides and blight who I have a disgusting high knowledge about while being fairly neutral towards him. If I didn't like how good mft felt in my build, I would base my build around this new exhaustion perk and let me tell you I am not the biggest fan of rng.

People are just calling this perk not good when it is, it's really good. Just like people think mft isn't S tier when 3% ms is game changing.

Read my other comments before replying as well. That will tell you my opinion on the perks relation towards SB.

But hey go off. I'm sorry I can recognize a strong perk without calling it op or underpowered like the rest of you.

Med-kits you say? They nerfed ground, my guy still believe they are strong enough lol.

Which perks? Self-care is only one allow you self-heal.

This perk wants you to be full health to use it. If killer hits you before you use it, you are done. You can't use this perk while injured. The only use will come start of chase. You may be surprise but you can use SB at start of chase and it does not ask you to be full health and gives you more distance.

Comparing this perk with old Dead Hard is just so funny, people have terrible memories or they did not play game when DH was super meta.

Med-kits being nerfed to the ground- nope a 24 second self heal is still more efficient than grouping up with even a swf teamate, a common misconception lol. Not to mention add-ons potentially reducing the heal to 18 seconds or god forbid a syringe that I see every other game on either side. If you think med-kits are weak, I truly have no idea what to say in response to that. Ask pulsar or edgar if they think med-kits were "nerfed into the ground", I highly doubt they would agree with that statement.

Perks- Self-care + botany + desperate measures and CoH or we'll make it for teamplay.

Ok, so you think it's that hard to press the active ability button before being hit or being careful at all? SB is by far the best exhaustion perk but that doesn't mean it's not massively inefficient to 99 at times.

It has a place in being compared to old dh, it fits the same niche. That's not to say old god validation dh wasn't stronger as I already said but this new perk is not weak in any regard.

Honestly the only reason I won't be running this perk is that I won't be able to pair it with mft. So yeah, this perk won't be apart of the strongest survivor build by my estimation but it's top 3 I would say.

You will not have more Singularitys when you change the EMPs. Unless you change them so much that they are non-existent because Killer players love their uncounterable "strategies".

You dont see many Singularitys because while he is a strong Killer, he is not easy to learn for the reward you get. You can just learn Nurse for a bit and will have way better results. And while he is fun to play, other Killers are also fun to play, e.g. Wesker, who is also stronger than Singularity.

So I feel any discussion is pointless. And even EMPs are alright now.

Does that point really work though? If people really cared so much about playing strong characters they would use 10% of their talent and learn nurse who is honestly pretty easy. Play blight with c33 and be at the very least neme with 2.3X movement speed on demand.

On the fun aspect that argument doesn't work either, one because it's subjective and two because people play low skill b and c tier killers all the time with low skill expression.

Something is simply fundamentally wrong with Singularity's fun aspect regardless of his strength.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

Dramaturgy works only when you are healthy which it's pretty hard. Staying injured is easier and that's why Dead Hard was so strong.

Labeling being healthy is pretty hard is not a statement I thought I would ever hear. Perks, Med-kits and most solo survivors throwing to heal under hook would say otherwise.

  • @Annso_x said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3482087#Comment_3482087

Old DH was problematic bc of the invincibility effect. You can hit people during the dramaturgy speed boost, so it's just a much weaker SB and you don't get it if the killer hits you first.

Also "75% of time is positive": lol no.

1st option - Weaker SB, might as well have brought SB

2nd option - Exposed for 12s, free down if the killer isn't terrible

3rd option - Scream, best case scenario you're in LoS of the killer so it does nothing otherwise reveals your location to the killer

4th option - If you brought an item you're risking getting a worst one, otherwise the effect can vary from useless to really good depending on your luck.

    1. Yes a weaker sb but has no prerequisites besides being healthy, 99ing sb can be inefficient. Not to mention this would be the second time this effect would happen after activating the perk
    2. You would never pop the perk if it was a question the killer could hit you within 12 seconds of doing so. Ex: making a longwall window which is safe vs most killers for 12 seconds that can hit you with a basic attack
    3. Your so called best case scenario will be the more common than any other and screaming is no big deal if you are consciously making the diction to do so.
    4. You aren't losing the item though, just dropping it for the time being.

All of the downsides can be mitigated with thought and skill. Think of all the high A/S tier killers and ask yourself how many can down you with a basic attack via their power.

The fact you can get exposed after it

Dramaturgy is entirely unviable in a competitive environment because of its drawbacks, but due to the nature of ranking up in this game (how you're still able to rank up after loosing/ being sacrificed) it's still going to be used a whole lot. This perk would be balanced in a game mode without badges where the only thing that mattered was escaping

Ok so lets get this straight. You think a guaranteed speed boost of 25% for 2 seconds leading up to a 1 in 4 chance of either a strong item, a scream that means nothing because you are already in chase, another 25% speed boost for 2 seconds and the last being the only real downside of exposed.

Perk is 100% A tier no contest. A good survivor would never pop the perk if they didn't KNOW they would make it to safety on the chance they got exposed.

It's no god validation dh but it's not to be underestimated at all.

  • It's actually crazy people don't notice mft on killer. I run it every game on survivor and feel far stronger and I can easily tell on killer if a survivor has mft.

There is a reason you watch survivor content and the content creators will call out noed in seconds, 4% is just that noticeable and strong.

  • Yes, hard handicapping yourself will hard negatively affect your mmr(at least what you want from mmr).
