You actually put all 3 of my favorite perks in d tier, impressive. Putting shadowborn that low is a sin.

Ever since DBD adding that stupid disconnect penalty, this the only legit way to leave a match when the killer is camping tunnelling or just making it an utterly miserable experience. So, NO.
It's especially worse during events (like this one) and every other tome, where it's back-to-back-to-back bad. You get tired of it after a while. In my last 3 matches alone, the killer tunneled the first hook out... That's not fun for them and it happens a lot during events.
The problem lies with the tome challenges which forces these low-skilled players to do things they aren't capable of doing normally so they tunnel and camp out players. It also lies with the balancing. Which has been a problem with this game since the beginning.
There needs to be solo, duo and quad queues so killers know in advance who their up against. You can't balance a game by ignoring the most important part of it... the multiplayer.
Regardless, if you're expecting BHVR to force players to sit through matches like that, you're crazy. Players will stop playing entirely. Don't forget, Bubba has his own game coming in 2 months and that beta was really fun. DBD is NOT fun. It used to be a lot of fun...
^ person who has only played dbd their entire multiplayer career. Geez.
-
It's only half relevant but all of the comp players/retired comp players I have played against have about the same level of ego and lack of self awareness as the person you mentioned. Only in dbd would "pro players" be worse in chase than the best solo survivors I have gone against and have 5 times the ego.

I wonder if there is a specific part of the community, group, or persons behind that mindset being so prominent though. Since Ive seen a spark in it recently.
I don't watch many people but maybe deadplays? I don't think he actually thinks like that but his content revolves around stereotypical killer persona. "This p100 swf got massacred by my pallet shredding freddy after they tried to bully me" that's how every video is worded. He's like the naymetti of killer or vice versa. They are both amazing in their respective roles but they have that click bait mentality.

I'm sure i'll get hate for even mentioning blight but his power is directly tied to the server so hits are super finicky and bumps take twice as long sometimes. I'll just keep playing survivor I guess.
-
I never had that mind set even while learning killer, people are just bad at this game and want to blame it on something. Guy probably spent zero time trying to learn the game from other people outside the game or has 0 talent for the game, pick one. Likely the first one or both considering how he reacted, you don't just start calling out swfs without having preconceived notions about the game as a whole via social media.

Weird way to invite discussion to be honest. You can't decide for others whether it is valid or not. Clearly that players are doing it, is valid reason for it.
It's a game, generally people play to have fun. If they are facing a killer they know outclasses them or match feels futile, you can try for low chance of escape. It's not rocket science.
So people feel the match is futile after their first hook as the first chase over a min in? Because most of the time it happens it's game throwing/ruining early game. When it's 5 hooks with 0 gens done go for it but it still needs to be removed.
-
These posts have no point. 80% of the users here all endorse game ruining experiences.
You can fix the problems and people will still give up at the drop of a hat, removing hook suicide will definitely have a larger impact than any of you think.

Yeah OK I missed out the words hook suicides in my description, and I now more clearly see the point you're making of the difficulty distinguishing between legit and misused unhook attempts.
My point is one would trust BHVR actually has a mechanism to track people who have a disproportionate number of reports from this kinda behaviour.
You're right it would be hard to have event tracking where you see how frequently that person attempts escapes from hook and misses all the skill checks would be hard, but simply tracking when a player has a number of games below a certain death time threshold would be enough... as even the softest potatoes can live longer than a couple of minutes. You wouldn't get everyone, but you'd get enough.
My point it you should not address the problem of players suiciding on hook, by removing the mechanisms to try and escape from hook. You should go after the players who are being regularly reported for doing it.
This mechanism CAN and DOES save games. I've had at least 2 cases in the past 100 games where I've turned a 4k into a 2k because I managed to get off hook in a desperate gamble and forced the Killer to take a 50/50. Sadly it was me dead both times, but my sacrifice was not in vain. I don't feel this element of the game is worth sacrificing cause because a few self entitled jerks abuse it.
The 4% is used to actually try and get off 1 in 99 times, the rest is just people trying to get out of the game.
-
I've been using yellow speed and nothing else for the past 3 weeks on blight. Before that it was no add-ons. Trying to break my green speed addiction.
-
Survivor is most of my games now, the killer games I play are reserved for blight.

Survivor: MFT, DH, WMI and WoO
Killers: Shadowborn, BBQ, Lethal and plaything.

Nurse and Blight are fine at base-kit. What makes each of them broken are some of their add-ons + perks that become overbearing when used by either killer.
But looking at this thread so far, I can't help but notice that it's been completely derailed and isn't even about MfT anymore. It seems like every argument on the forums nowadays spirals into a constant back-and-forth about which part of the game is more broken.
These arguments serve no purpose and help no one in understanding how to balance the game better.
I don't really think nurses add-ons are what push her over the limit though.
I always say this: 85% of nurses power is in her base kit at least and Blight shoots up at least 200% in total power level with certain add-ons. At this stage Blight is ever so slightly better than nurse when they are both running their best add-ons although blight requires a far better player, since it's obvious how broken some of blights add-ons are to push him up that far I would not say base-kit nurse is fine.

A perk giving you extra 25% distance for everything in chasing FOREVER can't be fine unless it has a huge downside.
But in this case right now it just a perk makes shift W into pre-drop become so problematic,it could actually be more problematic than MOM consider that unlike MOM it can even active it's OP effect in the first chasing make the first chasing (the weakest state of killer) become so much longer.
I was on 0 sleep auto pilot the other day and brain dead talking to my friend, looked back and couldn't believe the killer still wasn't on me yet.
3% is far more impactful than so many people think on this forum.

I'm talking about the experience i have both as when playing as and against those killers.
If more people like those killers then more power to them, however you cannot force anyone to enjoy something they simply just don't find fun because fun & enjoyment is once again subjective in the end.
I have no intention or ability to force you to do anything. The reality of playing vs ph and nemesis is that if they have distance you will get hit at a pallet or window. I mained hag, neme, bubba and ph in that order before blight. The more I understood the survivor view, the more I realized how unfun any decent killer playing those killers is. PH and Neme especially will just zone and hit or have distance and hit anywhere. Hag's web has more macro potential than all other killers but it's irrelevant when you hit and leave without a real chase.
I can't blame people for enjoying anything. You can run alch-ring/green speed and win everygame while playing in the most disgusting way possible as blight while being mediocre.
Some survivors care little for gameplay and just like RE, that sentiment extends across many different players in many different ways.
@Riski said:
Although I understand the idea of these being poular killers they're other factors that make them popular. Huntress is a killer everyone starts with and has a range attack which makes many new players gravitate towards her. Blight is one of the strongest killers in the game with a pretty straight forward and easy to pick up gameplan making him popular amongst people who want to win. Finally Wesker is a liecenced killer from an iconic gaming franchise with voice lines and a borderline comical power of throwing people. That is to say there is a lot more that makes these killers popular than what you said. To say many people find these killers fun to play against is not fair. People complain about huntress' hitboxes and camping potential quite a bit, base blight is full of techs and bugs that can make him feel unfair or cheesy to play against and many people feel over exposed to Wesker and infection is a mechanic that not only makes tunneling easier but makes you feel punished for doing well in a chase (as you then come off the hook with more infection making you easier to tunnel).
Finally, what's most healthy for the game is diversity. I tend to enjoy killers with powers that aren't straight forwards to use and that focus more on the 4v1 than the 1v1 such as Dredge, Plague and Ghostface. This next part depend on what you mean by "more" but if we were to only see killers like that in the future I would feel worse about the game and they're killers I care less about. Even if I enjoyed playing against huntress if I played against huntress every match I would get sick of it very quickly and it's most important that different playstyles are catered to. I will agree that we've not seen many of these "straight forwards" killers as much recently and I would not complain if the next one was but reguardless of what's "fun" too much of it and repetition would quickly make people sick of the game.
I mean, blight has one "bug" that is far easier to play against than anything normal. You make traversing the map easier and certain filler tiles free, it's not that insane. He is probably the second hardest killer to pick up mechanically in the game but is all but unmasterable.
Diversity isn't directly healthy for the game, knight was the first all out 3 gen killer and no one likes him.
Billy, Oni, Wesker, Blight, Demo and huntress are probably the most fun to go against overall by the community.

That doesn't really change that i don't think they're fun, which is why i wrote ''imo'' in my other message.
Yet that doesn't change the fact that majority of killers like powerful yet interactive killers and that is reflected in how much they are picked. They are the most healthy simply.

Yes. But how many killers can do this against skilled survivors?
You can't do this with Trapper. You can't do this with most of killers. Even A-tier killers, i highly doubt.
But Blight can. I wonder why.
You can say skilled survivors but I doubt they really know how to play vs a blight well. You can be skilled vs huntress and m1 killers but suck vs blight.
Realistically you have to be a good blight main to be able to play vs him really well or at least watch a blight main streamer and have good memory. It's unreasonable to ask that of people but that is the case to an extent.
Any killer can 4k with no perks with just a one good snowball or repetitive wastes of time from survivors.
I'm sure you don't want to hear that though.

To be fair an Add-On "costs" way less than a Perk. Blight can run this Add-On and still has 4 Perks available.
A Survivor who uses Made for This can only equip 3 other Perks while having a Perk which prevents (or at least strongly discourages) them from using almost all Exhaustion-Perks and only works half of the time.
Let alone that the extra effect of C33 is way better.
If your going that route and factoring in cost for each side then wouldn't you count it as one perk out of 16 or does it only go one way?
Ofc c33 is better than the secondary effect of a survivor perk, it's literally Neme in a bottle. I simply just brought up c33 because it's the same number.
I've also been running dh with it and there really is no downside to that combo. You would just go down without dh so you still get full value. You could argue the same thing for lithe in that you just don't use it until you would normally go down.

What is the point on making tier lists based off of 6000+ comp players? They don’t affect the vast majority of the players, and this information is useless to most people, as it doesn’t help the vast majority of players figure out which killers are top tier in the games they are personally playing in.
Also, if we really want to base tier lists off of the absolute best of the best, Blight is currently beating Nurse with a 1000+ win streak. Nurse got too many nerfs, and she doesn’t have any OP addons. Meanwhile, Blight still has all his OP addons.
I don't know why you keep saying 6000+ comp players like it doesn't take 5 games to get past nurses skill floor and she has nowhere near the skill ceiling of blight.
Blights best add-ons are disgusting but majority of nurses power has always been in her base-kit power. While blight has a strong power it's not nearly as lethal as nurse, his add-ons can just more than double his possible lethality.
Point is that in the average players hands who dedicates several hours in thoroughly learning nurse she is the strongest, unless the average blight player is alch ring tunneling off hook or perma running c33 and speed every game.
-
I think it's funny that 3% is exact number on c33 and that is very noticeable as well.
-
If I didn't play wesker, in what world would I play the new killer over blight? Wesker is immensely well designed but singularity has glaring problems still.
I don't play Blight because of how op he can potentially be, I play him because he counters the most boring aspects of killer far more than any other. Wesker is a better blight at small tiles but that's it, I respect how hard his hug tech is to pull off and the skill ceiling of the character but even then he still doesn't beat blight.
-
What the first guy said, other times I genuinely would rather wait away from the hatch so I don't have to guard gates in a pointless struggle with nothing to gain.
-
It's only good when paired with ds and otr as well. It's not even a blight or nurse thing. PH, Demo, Wesker, Huntress ect. can all instantly down you again if there is nothing directly next to you.

thats a very simplistic view. Most killers dont destingiuish between solo survivor and swf.
I used to be a solo survivor main, but even though i enjoy that much more than killer in a good match, you dont get good matches anymore.
Most of my matches, both killer and survivor, are usually a total stomp for one side. As killer, i mostly get 4ks, and then some matches where i dont end 4 chases until its over. As surviovr, i get mostly tunneling and camping, and i finally understand why so many survivors give up early.
Because solo survivor is the lottery, and winning means you get decent teammates and a decent killer. And its clear early on that thisl will be a stomp match again, so a lot of people just opt out of that match.
I, however, just opt out of playing survivor. While i used to like it more, solo is just not fun at the moment. So i play killer instead. But since most matches are a stomp for one side there too, matches become either boring or frustrating fast, ending in way less playtime for me then i used to have.
I would actually so most killers go out of their way to try and distinguish a swf in any way possibly so they don't feel bad when they lose.
I agree good matches are rare though, that's an mmr issue more than anything else though and the drastic lose in veterans has increased that disparity to a disgusting degree.

Balanced doesn't necessarily mean it's fun.
Rock, paper, scissors is a perfectly balanced pvp game, but literally no one would play it for hours at a time, several days a week... It's not that fun to play.
I mean I feel as though a lot of survivors got off on abusing broken things in this game. After 6.1.0 I stopped seeing the stereotypical "toxic survivor", even more so after the clicking changes on either side.
Don't get me wrong there are a lot of issues with this game still but it is overall more balanced than ever before and I guarantee you a lot of vets have dropped it because they can't mess around for 3 min every game and still win. Imagine I only went for blight flicks every single hit and still expected to 4k, that's the exact same thing.
Killers are willing to sweat, even if I don't agree with what that entails. Survivors for the most part regardless of skill level aren't really willing to sweat hard and don't really want to either. It's a difference of mentality/skill and overall entitlement.
This community is just blatantly biased and not self aware. The worst comp players have a larger ego than faker in league, the average player on either side still has a large ego.

Not the same, but I have played blight with 0 add-ons for the last 30 games and I can still feel my addiction for green speed. I always don't kick gens/tunnel/camp and rarely run gen regression but not running green speed hurts far more than it should and that's not even from a power level perspective.
An equivalent for blight would be running placebo but I'd rather drop dbd than do that consistently. Honestly even harder than no mither would be c7 but no thanks.

I honestly don't understand why you're asking. If you can run the killer for more than 4 minutes, you're the only survivor having fun in the match. There's nothing I like better than being chased by a Bubba who won't give up and wants my ass at any cost.
When I chase a very skilled survivor as a killer, I'd rather hunt him down than some random Steve who's on the ground after 10 seconds. It's because I want to get better, not because I'm mad. If you only play against mediocre people, you'll get worse over time.
Unfortunately, most people on both sides don't understand this concept.

It's possible that person is just trying to get better at chasing survivors better than them.

All of them since I started playing 2 years ago, besides eeyrie but I don't consider that a rework. Rework is much more than a minor change like that.
-
What @Pulsar said.
Also vs most killers I am getting more value out of dh than pre patch. The counter play to dh is usually easy regardless of killer and it takes the killer to mess up, but most killers will swing into it now including myself. I cannot tell you how easy it is to bait dh as blight 85% of the time, but after the nerfs I simply don't care to bait it any longer.
I continue to use it sometimes as survivor but it really is a top 5 most boring perk to play against.
-
MMR doesn't exist, you are either facing survivor below the cap or above and the matchmaking will give you the most accurate it has.
If you go against goo survivors all the time than either pick a better killer or pick a better time. For me, playing killer vs decent survivorsr is impossible before 12:00 am.

I'm not greedy with other perks. I see certain situations in this game as detrimental to its fun and overall experience that should not have to rely on the use of perks to deal with. And yes I am being forced to run the perks you mentioned if you say that is my answer to dealing with this problem. There is no reason for the killer to leave a downed survivor on the ground for more than a minute and even that is pushing it in my opinion. It wouldn't be fair if survivors could leave a generator and have it continue to be repaired would it? Then why should killers who refuse to hook survivors be rewarded for playing this way? "Get better at looping" is not the answer to this. If after 7 years most survivors can't loop a killer for half the match then its never going to be the norm.
If the killer hasn't picked you up in a min and neither has another survivor something has gone so severely wrong that there's nothing that can be done.
I am biased but a all or nothing slug fest in end game is true peak dbd, but if you are on the ground for a min and there is more than just one other survivor it's on them. Blame the game for allowing survivors to play so selfishly, not force the game into a state of only chase, hook and repeat(i'm one to talk as that is exactly what I do these days but that's not realistic for most players).
While my philosophy on it has become nearly neutral, you can't just make killers act like bots. When I started playing my thinking was 1. dh and IW counters chase, 2. UB counters slugging, 3 DS and BT counters tunneling. As I progressed in game knowledge the only "killer tactic" I was 100% ok with on both sides was slugging. Yes, slugging for the 4k can be boring but it is outright overshadowed by the team play and interactivity slugging in general allows.
@KateMain86 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3448927#Comment_3448927
All these perks and your argument is for every survivor to use the same loadout forever because killer mains can't stop using excessive slugging. There is too much reliance on perks. I'm of the opinion many perks should be worked into the survivors basekit abilities. In all fairness, some perks can be worked into the basekit of killers too.
Again as I said before, I am against tunneling and camping now but when I started for the first 6 months paragraph three was my understanding of the game and by that point I was already better than majority of killer players.
Just as you don't want to rely on perks and run the same thing every game, killers don't want to play the exact same way every single game. God knows bhvr wouldn't open up other play styles if all 3 were deleted.
Slugging is fine, I can agree to an extent slugging for the 4k with 2 people left is cringe but any attempt to fix that will probably negatively impact fine gameplay.
-
The only time I consider gen rushing real is when people are letting other survivors hit the next hook stage in order to get gens done. Everything else is just a term for losing as killer.
