People defending nurse like it doesn't take 1 video and 5 games with any competence to start stomping everyone. Her base kit power is the issue, not the add-ons that got gutted. Walk until safe blink and it's free without any extreme LoS. This character is so overhyped in terms of skill I have no idea what to say about, other than dbd players being bad.
Her skill floor is the highest but 5 games isn't asking much and that's giving leniency to the dbd player base.
-
I mean endurance doesn't take more than one hit with the 6.1.0 changes so your complaints are unfounded.
-
Killer isn't bad and is beyond terrible design at this point.

It's not just super strong, it's literally two perks in one. You could split it and have two strong perks instead of having one that is... let's say, arguably over-tuned.
Yep, it is 2 perks in one. 3% alone is S tier.
OMW to run it every single game forever.
-
I D K.
But I do expect them to just gut his entire roster of add-ons instead of the 4-5 neccasary.

No
Why no though? The 3% is already super strong, the endurance has no place.

I beg to differ. I say if you had something in the DBD new Survivor experience as easy as Candy Crush that also progressed the game state toward the Survivors winning (something much easier than hitting Generator skill checks) I think the game would flourish even more. Due to it being simple AND addictive. What would they add to get this result you ask? Well that's what they are getting paid to figure out. An experience like PVP Candy Crush is what we are shooting for. DBD lacks that "something" that feels fun to do. Its obvious that Generators are not THAT THING for the newer people. Hell, they like hiding in corners more than doing Generators.
Maybe just make a separate mode called "HIDE AND SEEK" and new people would be all about it. The average new player to a video game doesn't look up and watch as much as we might assume they do. A lot of the time, people hear about the game, so they grab it once its at a low price and try it out without watching anything at all, yet still knowing the gist of the experience. Unfortunately, DBD at its core requires that you have someone literally 1 on 1 guiding you if you want the best results, which really shouldn't be the case if we want to be as popular as Candy Crush..
I'm not really saying DBD needs to be like Candy Crush.. I'm saying it needs SOMETHING in the experience that is even easier to do for new people than what is currently available to do and also has that addictive feel to it. Something you cannot put down if you wanted to.. I don't think learning how to do specific vaults, trying to get good skill checks (let alone greats), and having to figure out what perks, offerings, and killer powers even are is what is going to keep the new folks. The devs have to go in a different direction, while keeping the game true to its core. Like I said, how they figure that out is up to them.
Yes, you definitely have a far different opinion than me. Getting in to survivor is hard in terms of dbd, but not compared to other games. You don't need someone to 1 on 1 coach you, just watch a few youtube videos and figure it out. Then learn by trial and error. Watch 1 otz video, play 10 killer games and then start playing survivor. People just don't want to learn.

Rarely get called out for cheating, even with iri tag.

Because Killers always think there is a "thing" which results in them losing games. You know, all Killers here on this Forum are absolute Gigachads who never make mistakes during their games. So there needs to be something that makes them lose games.
Currently it is Made for This. If Made for This would get nerfed, there would be another "thing" that results in them losing games. Because, you know, you dont lose games because you miss 60% of your Hatchets as Huntress. Nono. You lose games because your opponent had Made for This and you are only a 4,4m/s-Killer.
Survivors are just not allowed to have good Perks, according to Killers. But on the other hand they complain about the stale Survivor-Meta. Guess what, the Meta is stale if the majority of decent Perks got released in 2016 and 2017.
Except I run mft every game as survivor and can feel the immense difference it makes? Yes people complain about it like that's the reason they lose their games but don't downplay such an immensely strong perk.

Ya know Pulsar.. We disagree quite often, but you my friend have hit the nail directly on the head. DBD is certainly not a game you can just, as some devs have said in interviews of the past, "Jump in and have fun".. The new player experience is...I hate to say...abysmal.. New players are what the game should be shooting for and thriving off of. Overtime turning them into fans that come back not just because of another Chapter but day after day because of the fun experience they had. Yet everything just keeps getting more convoluted and degenerate.
I'm not sure how a brand new person is suppose to stick with an experience where such dirty and imbalanced things can happen on each side. Not to mention the amount of time you have to put in just to be a decent Survivor and not get stomped repeatedly seems to be too considerable for most. Even as Killer, beating those brand new Survivors a few times, you suddenly get tossed into a REAL DEAL group of even just a few decent Survivors and get rag dolled like you're nothing which completely turns the POWER ROLE idea on its head especially for newer people who just want to be immersed..
There are far too many strategies that Killers can use to make the new Survivor experience not pleasant even down to the way some of the Killers are designed at the very core of their power.. (Knight...Skull Merchant..and even Hag) Why can Killers tunnel off hook? Why can they even use their power right next to the hook? Leatherface has made many people I know actually stop playing due to that basement BS.. Seeing that through a new persons perspective would make more people understand those things don't make you want to come back especially if its your very first game..
Some of the basic principles that went into making DBD just don't work for casual people nowadays. Even on the Killer side.. Why does Trapper have to spend the whole first part of the game picking up his power...when Pig starts with hers by default? Just to be different? Hmm. There are many confusing questions that we will never know the answer to, but hearing you say that makes me realize that no matter how much the fan base might disagree with one another. This side. That side. Whatever. I think we can all agree. Some things. No. MANY things in this game don't feel "fun". They feel cheap or even underhanded. I don't think that is what the devs want, but here we are.. And where do we go from here. I have no idea. I just hope the game gets better someway..somehow..
Oh yeah..there are a few Killers that can't use their power next to hook are there not? O.o Twins can't and there might be a few more that I'm not thinking of.. That'd really put a damper on some degenerate strategies if Leatherface is next to the basement with a hooked Survivor and can't even click M2.. xD
No you should never be shooting for the new player experience in anything but an actual coop party game. DBD is not that and hasn't been since before I started playing. This game has a learning curve early on(especially for survivors) but if you go even a little out of your way to watch content and learn you can get up to a decent standard quick.
When a multiplayer pvp game doesn't have some catering towards players who know what they are doing, it dies. Simply.

@Sharby said:
The bottom line is that this is a community-driven problem.
Everyone wants an easy, chill game, but also want to win. How do you accomplish that in a PVP game?
Play against people severely under your skill level.
Meaning, if they put a ranked mode in nobody would use it because people don't actually want appropriate MMR based on how people complain they go against Tryhards every other game. So the people that sweat will always be mixed in with the casuals because they don't want to go against other sweats, so the casuals will continue to be punching bags for content.
Harder games means less 5-gen chases, less 4ks, less flex-able moments overall. The current community is way too competitive for it to ever work.
All the devs can do is either rework the game's objectives overall (sacrifices/gens being replaced.) Put a PVE mode in, or continue to put carrots on sticks everywhere to prevent people from playing efficiently (gen-rushing, tunneling, etc.)
I'd say we're a ways away from the current game-state tanking the population of players though.
"Everyone wants an easy, chill game, but also wants to win."
That's it. This is pretty much the answer to this post. That mentality is what drives a large amount of the player base.
I started playing over 2 years ago now and I didn't really feel like survivors were chilling while I was purely a killer main(until 6.1.0). For the first 6 months playing I know I never chilled. Then patch after patch both sides "good players" lost their tools and had to actually try hard to get their wins.
While I got over it long ago, I think killers from that time never did and use everything left that's strong to win, excluding actual killers although that does happen.
Tbf I have seen many more casual players since 6.1.0 and even more so as time has gone on.
So yeah, the community really has pushed this game into it's current state.
-
You say that but they hold complete opposite values. NWtH and bbq together make a 100% guaranteed aura on non-distortion users. The perk is fine for people who expect to be found. I dislike gen kick of any kind so I wouldn't be against it being nerfed for 0 reason but there really is no reason.
What am I to say as someone who hasn't kicked a gen in over a year and a half now.

- It's almost completely worthless against S-tier killers, such as Nurse, Blight and Spirit
- It's too strong against mid tier killers, such as Hag, Knight and Deathslinger
- It's absolutely devastating against low tier killers, such as Trickster, Legion and Wraith
Blight has an addon (Compound 33) that reduces survivor speed by 3% in a small radius for a few seconds, on top of breaking pallets 1 second quicker. It's considered extremely OP and everyone is always asking for it to get nerfed.
Survivors have a perk that increases their speed by 3% permanently on top of giving 10 second endurance on healing. Everyone is saying that it's perfectly balanced and not overpowered at all.
Compromise: Both could be nerfed. Discuss.
People have this notion that mft is worthless vs blight. 3% can mean the difference between a regular flick and a shoulder flick which is game changing, it can also make a regular flick miss by inches. Yeah it overall means less but it is nowhere near useless.
-
I mean you shouldn't be 4king in this instance and the screenshot does not help you whatsoever but I can only imagine altruism killed and everyone here isn't thinking. So everyone has a valid reason to question you but they really should be questioning the survivors who lost.

Yeah, more often than not all those threads are about M1 killers. I don't understand the hype either, they're the most boring killers out there but you'd think they're 80% of the killer roster or something with the remaining 20% being Nurse, Blight and Wesker.
I simply can't wrap my head around it. I can only attribute it to the dbd playbase being wrapped up in their horror fantasy's that I couldn't care less about if I tried. There are few killers that are fun and skillful for both sides: Wesker, Blight(minus a few add-ons ofc), oni, billy and huntress come to mind. My mentality used to be very killer biased back before I joined the forum but the more I play survivor and the more I read what people think on either side I realize there are very few people that are unbiased to a somewhat large degree. I am slightly biased towards blight but far less than majority of blight mains but only because I know more about him than 99%+ of blights playerbase entirely, I can tell people what is actually true about this killer.
But again, most people want to play these killers that if buffed to A tier they would be the worst killers to play against period. But they don't understand that. These killers aren't designed to be good.
Bit of a ramble but it's something I take a large issue with.
-
If it's going to make you unhappy to do so then don't. I only rarely slug because that is fine for both sides imo.
-
After 6.1.0 I saw an extreme drop in players that would be considered vets. They lost their fun play style of only semi trying and still winning, it's why you see far less "toxic" survivors. On the outside that would probably be considered a killer take when in reality I have mained survivor for nearly a year now and my survivor main friend would agree with me aswell.

I agree, duo is far more likely than a 4 man solo. But I do know BHVR has also said that solo que is the majority of the playerbase before, so I always just took that as 4 strangers in a match together.
Even with the likelihood of duos though, you still have to account for 2 other teammates you have no knowledge of how they play, what their experience is, etc.
Public matches are just a giant gamble when it comes to quality of teammates, honestly.
Don't get me wrong, public is a huge gamble as you said. I can't get through 2 killer games without huge inequality in matchmaking. But even 4 years ago they released stats on duo queue and up being majority of the playerbase. This game is hard to get into on your own so the only assumption is that solo queue in total has become far less common.

what is an s tier for you?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3503653#Comment_3503653
oh ok...
so a nurse doesn't miss attacks because the survivor outplayed her... no no no... if a nurse ever misses she is just not good. gotcha.
no true scotsman isn't a good argument.
Blight is S tier alone because his skill ceiling is basically unattainable. Billy has harder mechanics than any other killer and anything possibly hard about nurse is far harder where blight is concerned on both sides. I really could say skill issue every single time someone doesn't pluto a blight when it's free but I don't expect survivors to go out of their way for hundreds of hours to learn all of the collision related to blight.

@B1gMacEnjoyer said:
You only run into those teams in tournaments? I'm sorry, that's just fiction. I play a couple hours of killer a night, and I will run into teams running Made for This, Resilience, etc. and being gen efficient in at least half of them
That doesn't make those players good though. Genuinely good teams are rare and genuinely good standalone survivors are incredibly rare.
@Volcz said:
Slightly true. Its survivor sided for the most part when it comes to the competitive scene, ie teams of people in comms and playing for efficiency/value, ignoring mistakes.
But in regards to PUGs, public matches that brings together all sorts of players -
- trolls/people who just want to mess around
- serious gamers who want to win
- noobs/new to the game/bad in chase
- people who D/C or kill themselves for the slightest inconvenience
- and more
No, the public/casual scene is killer sided.
This game is not competitive, it will never be competitive and since solo que is the majority, you'll find yourself coming across a lot of players who have clearly different agendas/mindsets from you.
There are players who play killers beside the ones you mentioned, that haven't lost in MONTHS.
If you are having a problem in public matches as a killer, its entirely your fault. Too many people have self inflated egos, egos they really shouldn't have because they aren't that good.
This concept is mistaken unless your definition of solo queue is anything less than a 3-man swf. You are far more likely to run into atleast a duo queue than a true 4 man solo queue. I have no other comment on anything else you said but 4 man solo queue is less likely than not.
-
Nah leave it dead. I'd rather god validation dh than old IW. Rn IW is fine in a mft build, old OW just gained value out of nowhere. Probably top 5 worst designed perks of all time.

OMW to continue using this perk every single game, again people really just don't understand 3%.

@Melinko said:
Nurse has one of the largest learning curves in the game. Skilled nurse players are going to roll pretty much any team but the people that can really do that are few and far between.
Of course after one of those matches people usually think the character is OP and again in the right hands, yes she can mop up anyone but it takes a ton of practice to get to that level. She isn't just a log in and play and insta-kill. And her limitations do leave some counters, the issue for most players is countering her requires doing something different. You can't chain drop pallets and loop around shack and feel safe, nope you have to use a lot of mind games and understanding the killer. Hence why she is always being called to be nerfed.
Her learning curve is essentially nothing, even while being the highest. Her skill ceiling is probably low A tier at best. It really is just a fact that most players on both sides are terrible and thus killer players struggle to get over a curve that is easy.
-
@Xernoton said:
Probably because she is the one crutch for killers to compete with the strongest thing in the game. A fully stacked, well coordinated SWF that know exactly what they are doing. Even Blight struggles at that level.
For casual players Nurse is way too strong though. It's kind of a dilemma. If they make Nurse more fair in general, then nothing remains to keep the strongest thing in the game in check. And you can't exactly nerf these groups either without that affecting weaker groups too.
I mean, are we talking blight with add-ons or nah? His top 4/5 in certain combinations put him ahead of nurse on some maps. Iri-tag/alch-ring blight is a pub stomper set up with no equal, that's true. But alch-ring/green speed, adren/c33, c33/green speed and iri-tag/green speed put blights potential above nurses, although that's assuming the blight is really good. Nurse just takes 5 games and 2 videos to start auto winning vs 95% of teams. Blight has no skill ceiling so there is no definite way to say nurse is stronger when including add-ons.
I always say this: Nurse gets 85% of her power from basekit(approximately) and Blight can get a potential increase of 200%(vs really good players) - 400%(iri tag/ alch ring against far worse players) from add-ons.
My point being that if you want to contest such a well coordinated swf it should require the amount of knowledge high level blight takes. Nurse is simply safe blink, no gambling, no mindgames, just win, unless there is some absurd luck based LoS blockers. So even if bhvr considers nurse to be a crutch to fight the 1-5% swf people rarely go against, there is already a much better and healthier supplement.
-
I don't feel bad for any killer that doesn't take chase in order to kick a gen, so 90% of killers. Not that I am ever toxic towards them.
-
I see 1 artist every 3 months who are new to her, probably just for pain res in the first place.
-
The people who would listen to you already do exactly what you want and the people who wouldn't never will.
-
There are many more killers that are more boring than wraith.
-
I'm not gonna lie. Everyone is terrible in this game. A decent amount of comp players lack significant chase skills and only get by due to their great 4v1 efficiency. If you happen to be playing a bottom 10 killer, we'll that sucks. You probably shouldn't be severely limiting both you achievable potential and maximum skill level. But hey, the dbd player base really wants to play myers/freddy and eat their cake too. I simply don't care about the theme or license of each character, I play what's fun. My disappointment in artist led me to play blight, after maining many other killers.

It just not possible to hold players in game if they don't wanna play?
They will run to killer. They will sneak around and not do gens. They will drop every pallet in map.
Sometimes letting people leave is better.
Nope, taking strict action vs all types of game sabotage will eventually result in a far better playbase. You get rid of the disease ridden fruit and those around it will be likely to contract it. Meaning, People will be less tilted if other people don't int their games. Worst case scenario, the percentile of people that troll/give up goes down. Literally no one loses out besides the people inting.
The blood point thing I have mentioned before with some minor tweaks would be all that's necessary.
You can make people eat a dc, it's very very possible. People that say otherwise are just oblivious.
I know you have no idea what I am talking about but I don't just leave/afk when I get froze on with the enemy jungler hovering me for 10 whole min, the game will warn me right after that game if I do so, followed by a ban with repeat actions. The dc penalty is already lenient enough, there is no reason for this other non-sense.
-
I would but I gotta have my FoV perk.
-
Most people on this forum simply don't understand how good 3% MS is. It literally doesn't matter what killer it is either, 3% can make or break anything in this game easily. A blight flick that misses by half a meter is mft at work.
I have mained survivor for the last year and mft is just free.
It really is absurd to me how 90% of the this forum have 0 clue how good just the 3% of mft is, it's S tier just because of that. When I say 90% I mean the killers who attribute it to all their loses and the survivors who are too unaware to realize how good it is. Best survivor perk since OG CoH.
-
Over the course of a month I spend a week on only base into only yellow speed, into Yellow speed + c21/vigos/slam into allowing myself access to green speed. I gotta reset to keep my understanding on base blight.

I don’t condone it in any way, however, don’t we need to look at the reason this is happening? Sure, there’s a contingency of them who are just entitled and rage quit, but I’m sure a fair amount of game Enders are for a valid reason. If someone’s being tunnelled or face-camped, can you blame them for not wanting to play hook simulator? Or if their teammates are just trolling or farming?
there’s a multitude of reasons as to why people choose to give up on hook. Instead of looking at the problem, look at the causation.
I haven't had more than a few people suicide because of tunneling or camping. It's usually the start of the match before that's even possible.

-
I mean, after .5 seconds the killer would have to be completely not paying attention to get hit with it. Your change would accomplish nothing.

Flick tech? What are you even talking about. I have 1200 dpi which is relatively low and move my mouse at most 4 inches for a max turn flick. With max sense you can do the same thing on console, just not quite as fast.

I typically get "scary blight" or more recently "cold blight", I play like what I would have considered a bot playstyle a year and a half ago though. I will 8 hook every single game, if they make it to end game while I am in the process of doing so, so be it. I haven't gotten post game hate in several months. The last time I did was being called a tunneler while preforming my usual 8 hook in order, of course that is a disregarded outlier.
While you may not experience what I have. I know people would rather face my blight even on the very slim chance I run op add-ons than go against a tunneling trapper for example. There's a 40% chance that I get bags when people escape, but the only people in recent memory like that were abusing the fact that the servers had 100-150 ping( Don't @ me, blight suffers more from ping than survivors).

How you know i don't go against good Blights and Nurses? Do you play with me? No? So you have no idea what type games i have.
And i don't ignore half of each reply. I just can't answer all comments, it's just not possible.
I know you don't because there are less than 100 good blights in the world imo. You can say good blight all you want but even with my rustiness I am still top 4% being extremely generous. You simply don't understand because you don't know implications required to be a really good blight. Fast bump logic, and the ability to instantly recognize collision at any part of any map puts blight far above the miniscule skill ceiling of any other killer. Any baby blight can watch Lilith hug tech once and repeat, but I have yet to see a good blight besides momo and lilith in my 100s of hours playing survivor and my thousands of hours watching content creators(that includes the many survivor players I watch as well). Your notion of a good blight is probably laughable from my PoV. Again, I don't need to see your games to know you aren't going against good blights just as you don't need to see the supposed god swfs the killers on this forum claim without instantly discrediting them. You may have gotten a few, but no more.
You do ignore half of posts, you take one sentence out of a paragraph and reply to it. You contently ignore many things said to you for your own sake. You have done it to me a several times and to others many many times. It's at the point where I don't feel it's worth conversing with you because it will amount to nothing.
It's not about responding to comments, it's how you do so.

If the survivor is wounded, the Killer picks them up. Then, the Killer attempts to sacrifice them.
The Killer cannot pick up a survivor that was wounded this round.

Show me the map and condition. Because I am pretty certain this is not a case any more basically anywhere. Even on maps like swamp and going for corner - there's 1 hook in that corner and you can still get to the other one that's bit more far away - at least when you know where you are going
I mean it's not like I have clips to show you on hand. But I have seen it in other peoples clips and seldom on my own.
Again it is possible, just not common.

Hooks can move, gens get completed. There's precisely perfect comparison. Also - there's never ever a spot on a map where just 1 hook is the possibility. It's always at least 2. So if you delete one and then get the other one sabotaged, that's your fault (same way as creating 3gen for any killer that does not guard it from 1st second of match is survivor's fault).
Actually no, while it's less common these days there are comp corners where only one viable hook is located.

I haven't seen that in the rulebook... dont suppose you have a page reference?
If you correctly guess a survivor will stop in a space and you move there and use wait, surely you deserve to be rewarded accordingly.... if you burn 4 tokens for a bonus turn to do it, not only do you need the right cards left in your hand, but it costs you A LOT of resources...
I can't see how the Killer is meant to keep up if you can't hit the same survivor twice in a turn? Seems like an unnecessary punishment for great prediction imo 🤔
It's been a couple months sense we have played but we definitely read it several times. Also I wasn't the one reading them directly but the board owner was reading aloud.
I was literally hitting someone and then blight powering back for a down.

1) it helps prevent camping killers from being able to abuse that same hook
2) just as survivors finishing their objectives makes it riskier (less gens to do means less gens for the killer to patrol) so too is true of the killer (less survivors to worry about but less hooks to utilize)
3) hooks very rarely spawn in a dead zone - I’ve never even seen it myself when I’ve played killer. They are so plentiful you can easily walk from one to the next without a survivor wiggling free.
4) there are many ways to just bypass the hook sacrifice altogether. Moris are very common. Executioner, Onryo, Shape, and Pig all have powers/add-on that allow them to kill without it. A lot of killers slug anyway so if you’re afraid of a dead zone they can still bleed out… not to mention Devour Hope and Rancor are very powerful perks that allow you to kill when conditions are met. Even Blood Warden can be a confirmed death sentence for anyone left if you hook a survivor at the right time. And of course the basement hooks always stay…
Losing at most 3 hooks isn’t going to negatively affect your game enough that this mechanic would even need to be considered for a rework.
Ah yes, defending bad design with perk/specific killers.
Gens can't move, hooks get deleted. Survivors can walk to a terrible area that has one hook deleted in order to struggle off.
There is no comparison.
