Who decides what the purpose is?
The purpose is what the Perk is supposed to do, and this is dashing and being immune while dashing.
Even if you say that only one thing should be possible, the Dash is the primary part of the Perk.
It's too strong is the point, it will prob end up getting tweaked like Borrowed Time did thank god

Giving Distance with Immunity frames isn't two separate things. It's all part of the same thing, dashing away from danger.
No because ive downed someone while they run by me with sprint burst, cuz sprint burst does one thing lol

Using Dead Hard will cause Survivors to dash forwards at 250 % of their base Movement
This is dh perk description it never stated how or where to use this dash
Using it to gain distance to be in place of a blind for example is a circumstance that should not happen, they aren't dodging a hit, its just a free immunity distance boost
-
@Crowman said:

The perk literally exists to provide yourself a little dash to get out of danger. That's all it does.
No it has 2 benefits sir, Distance and Immunity to DMG in that time. I've been in a survivor when they are prob spamming the button and my swing IN them did nothing
-
@justbecause said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2471078#Comment_2471078
Huh? No you're not using dead hard in open for dodging hits is useless because everyone with one braincell will just bait it out and if u use it to reach pallet or window you can do exact same if not more with sprint burst and other exhaustion perks and idk if u remember back in days when sprint burst was a thing most used everyone complained about it now it's same with dead hard nothing new
Yes but there's other ways that dead hard is used that doesn't fit it's purpose is what im saying
-
@Crowman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2471049#Comment_2471049
Lol.
If Dead Hard gave 0 distance this will happens: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LapDIXaaMpY
You basically want to kill the perk.
I want the perk to be balanced and have 1 benefit, not using it to save yourself in all these different situations when it is working
-
@justbecause said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2471067#Comment_2471067
Nor are you with dead hard both dead hard and sprint burst are used for distance and that's it just like lithe etc etc if u fall for dh in open and u missed that's on you just bait it out and for distance dead hard and all other exhaustion perks are same except that others gives u ton of distance and dead hard gives u just barely to make nearest pallet or window
"Nor are you with dead hard" YES you are actually, you're immune from taking dmg, even if you were to use it facing a wall and i swung it wouldnt do anything in those moments, giving you time
-
@Shaped said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2471057#Comment_2471057
It is?
What is with all the "hold w" thing then. Sprint burst gives even more distance.
You aren't immune to dmg while gaining life saving distance, whatever the circumstance
-

But what would be the point in dodging if you get hit right after the iframes? Nobody would run it.
@Aven_Fallen said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2471047#Comment_2471047
Then they will switch to Sprint Burst and Killers will complain about Sprint Burst. Which is actually stronger and makes every Deadzone safe, because you will reach a Pallet, since Sprint Burst actually provides Distance.
The way you guys talk gives me the impression you don't play killer much, do you know how slowed you are if you miss a hit without unrelenting that somewhat helps? You don't even really need sprint burst to survive a chase, Dead Hard is again a different story because it has 2 strong benefits in one perk, They will prob tweak it eventually like they did with Borrowed Time, another one that got nerfed thank god
-
@Shaped said:

Then you will complain about sprint burst.
No sprint burst is fine, people use it in good ways, it's fair
-
@Crowman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2471044#Comment_2471044
Even if Dead Hard was used to soley dodge a hit, you would still have to be able to make a pallet or window otherwise you would go down a few seconds later.
Your issue isn't dead hard, it's that you are facing people who are simply better than you where a well timed dead hard is so devastating.
No I played when dead hard first came out and you'd have time because the killer is slowed when you swing. Unless you brought unrelenting
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2471038#Comment_2471038
No, they are just running a Perk.
Or are Killers "abusing" BBQ? Are Killers "abusing" Ruin? It is stupid to use the word "abuse" when players are just having Perks in their loadout.
Stupid mentality.
Besides, you did not get the problem when it only has the Invincibility - you gain nothing from it. The Killer misses a swing, afterwards, you are dead, because you are still in an area without defence.
Killer's is a different story because half of their perks have ######### benefits and you have to stick to the strong ones unless you wanna get beat.
Survivors have plenty and yet everyone will still pick dead hard. I wonder what they will do if they nerf it
-
@Crowman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2471028#Comment_2471028
It has the same cooldown as every other exhaustion perk while innately providing less distance than those perks. Also since it's a fixed distance dash, using it wrong means you can kill all your own momentum when trying to reach a vault or pallet resulting in your taking a hit regardless.
I've played against plenty of dead hards and I've seen Dead Hards that range from absolutely useless to well timed ones that do extend the chase. I've also even out played dead hard users, because 99% of the time when they dead hard they take the pallet or vault meaning if you go to the other side of the tile you can hit them there.
That's 1 circumstance that sometimes happens, more often than not its to reach the pallet to continue the loop when it's meant to dodge a hit not gain distance.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2471019#Comment_2471019
Even if it works, just the iframes do nothing, unless you are directly at a Pallet. Without Distance, DH would be useless, even if it would work perfectly.
Also, can we please stop to use the word "abuse" when players just play with Perks that are in the game? Nobody is doing anything illegal or bad when they play with Dead Hard...
When it's one of the only perks people bring i think that's fitting
-
@ThiccBudhha said:

But what would be the point in dodging if you get hit right after the iframes? Nobody would run it.
People aren't even using it what it's designed for, it gives you immune bonus distance when its just meant to dodge a hit. It restarts chases so hard, it's a really strong game changing perk that's SPAMMED. Is it really that hard to see it's used and milked?
-
@Shaped said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2471019#Comment_2471019
So you are immune to damage for 1 second then what? You go down.
did you play when dead hard first came out? it worked then without a distance jump
-
@Crowman said:
Dead Hard doesn't cover a lot of distance as it is. It's a very short range dash.
Like I get how it can be annoying playing against multiple dead hards, but compared to every other exhaustion perk the distance the perk gives isn't much.
No i don;t agree at all with you, You clearly just are okay with or never versed a team with 4 working dead hards that use it to reach the pallet instead of dodging a hit. Ontop of having a low cooldown
-
@Shaped said:
Do you realise that without distance dh is useless?
Do you realize that half the people that complain it doesn't work, refuse to ever run a trial without it? and no it isn't you're immune to dmg, you didn't get that distance jump when it came out.
EDit: Also it wouldn't be useless because again the perk has TWO strong benefits. When it first came out you moved forward a bit while running and you wouldn't take dmg. It's nothing like the bs leap you take now

But, what is stressful is an individual thing. I have a lot of friends that would disagree that killer is more stressful than solo q. Of course some of them are god tier nurses. So I imagine the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
But, what causes people stress in this game. Losing? Getting only 2ks? Sweating? It is a game, you decide on how you want to approach it and what are your win definitions. If you want nothing but 4ks, all the time, then one is bound to be disappointed from time to time. But, what is making this game stressful is what people need to evaluate. I think too many people think this is a competitive game and feel somehow bad, if they lost.
Why? If I lose a game of ladderball or cribbage to my wife, I don't get angry. I don't get stressed that next time I might lose again. It's one game, the fun is in the game, not is some arbitrary number of kills or escapes.
IN the end, the simple fact is, if something bothers you, causes you stress, then why would you continue to do it? Especially if you truly believe that the game is unbalanced and stacked against you?
You can see it in the threads on the forums talking about copy paste builds. People have mastered the art of abusing that new DS style perk Dead Hard. So many people run the same build over and over and if you don't bring a certain build to answer that you'll most likely get bullied

Okay so recently i didnt play dbd for like 3-4 weeks and i was really into some older pc games which took my whole time. I start playing dbd again yesterday and its like TUNNELING has gone up way higher. Im even seeing killers just stray around hooks when theres only 2-3 people left in the game with multiple gens still up. Not leaving at all.
Not anything new from before, but its been like this almost every game since yesterday...........
That's definitely sounding like it's in higher ranks though, and explainable lol. They argue that camping is an actual tactic which is kinda is but it really hinders you more than before. Sometimes it's deadly if they are too altruistic

well don't forget this map always comes with 2-3 main building god windows on top of the chance to spawn a incredibly busted shack window into long wall window
I get that survivors need stuff to work with but when the game is basically playing itself with godly tile spawns it just doesn't feel fair
I agree they shouldn't be hindered to that extent of making it have less windows etc. It just should be placed better, there's too many able loops that are 100% safe along with windows to the smart survivors who memorize the maps

I don't think anyone that plays for along time, feels killer is complete ass. But, I am sure all opinions exist. Why, I do agree survivor is less stressful, I don't see a huge difference between solo q and killer. Now, feeling like you are always going to lose, I don't understand. Most killer friends I know, are actually quite nasty and destroy most games they play.
I myself, do quite well, and I play by self imposed rules, I imagine if I returned to my original cutthroat style, I would do even better.
I have fun if i play like an a hole but, i want the ability to be able to do well while not having to always bring regression perks. You can't expand, and i have a lot of posts of people who agree that killer is ass and stressful

Friendly reminder that you can get shack window into a long wall window right next to it lined up on father cambells
would be nice if the tile was moved away from it a bit or they couldn't both have windows that face each other
some of the maps and how they are set up like this for double protection ontop of survivor perks like dead hard, etc. just baffles me and i don't get it

I is not toxic to recommend someone step away from something that is causing them stress and irritation.
And, not everyone of us believe that this game is so unbalanced. I always ask, rarely get an answer, do killers that get so stressed out, really lose more than they win? Because many of us have played a long time and do just fine.
There's also a lot of people who played for a long time and are here to talk about perks and how killer side is complete ass and continues to be while survivor is party land. It just always feel like you're gonna mostly lose playing killer.

It's probably good as long as it works. The part that captured me the most is
"SBMM will also allow us to collect more detailed statistics for our design team to work with (e.g. seeing how a perk or power performs among the top 5% of players). This data will allow us to make more meaningful tweaks and balance decisions in the future."
I wonder if they'll ever deliver on that.
Or they could collect data from the countless survey's and Q&A's they have which seem useless

I tried to be a good sport. I never camped, never tunneled. I juggled gen protection and chases, I played non-meta killers and ran more than just one overpowered build I tried to create a challenging but fun match for all my survivors.
But you ruined it.
You and your stupid keys, genrushing tactics, and copypaste builds and playstyles.
Today, I declare this solemn vow. As of this moment, I will camp, I will tunnel, I will slug every last survivor for the 4k if need be. From now on I only care about MY fun! Not yours, not your team mates! I'm going to enjoy myself no matter what 'scummy' tactics I must use to achieve them. There will be Anti-Loop. There will be BBQ, and there will be moris. There will be no more mercy, no giving the hatch or the gate. I don't care if all three of your teammates dced on you, I will STILL chase you down and hook you, and smack your hanging body.
I look forward to more years of selfish enjoyment, just as you have.
Survivor is just stronger and that needs to change, Killer should always have some kind of edge but be beatable

If you struggle against red ranks survivors, you are just playing way above your level considering that :
- 95% of the trials are NOT swf
- 99% of red ranks survivors are total potatoes
Problem is your side. I can go from rank 20 to rank 1 as a killer without loosing more than 5 trials...
So you can beat any swf group that comes your way then? Even the 4 stacks of dead hard, wall sliding teams?

If any Killer let's a No Mither user pick themselves up, that's on the Killer. You know it from the start of the trail.

I complained about how bad killer perks are and how bloodlust is horrid in another thread. Killer needs to be juiced with actual helping perks, then you'd see different builds. If not, you want every game to be a gen rush and for the killer to endure an alpha sweat squad?.

Maybe so but i wasn't seriously attempting to name a weak survivor perk. To be honest, I lost interest in this thread when OP turned it from a valid complaint about the game into a who-has-it-worse-Olympics. I probably should have used a tone indicator, sorry! /nm
Overall from the beginning too you said it's also due to poorly designed killer powers that lack utility in a chase,
..So you agree that some of the killer power designs are horrible?

In most matches, and I mean really most matches, the current objective cannot be done. Imagine the killrates if survivors had to do 5 gens, totems, save survivors, and then yet another new objective. Killer only has to do one objective and it is usually an easy one.
New Objective as in probably where we wouldn't do gens in that trial. Different types of Trials each time would be awesome

Judging by the way the OP talks about Optimization and having trouble with Blight, I'd say they're probably from console or a lower-end PC.
So it sounds like a "BHVR not giving a ######### about a good chunk of their playerbase" issue instead of a skill one.
No i have a good PC, it just doesn't register when you hit a lot of different walls and doors have a wide hit box for whatever reason for him and hell bash into air. Good luck at any indoor map

Not overpowered perks, but Survivor perks that have no counterplay. You can't counter "Does this survivor have DS or not?" "Does this survivor have Unbreakable?" "Does this survivor have Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, or Lithe?" "Do these survivors have Prove Thyself?" "Which one has Prove Thyself so I know to isolate them?" "Does this survivor have BT?" "Does this survivor have Soul Guard?"
Playing Killer isn't fun, because they have no information, and are guessing more than half the time while at the same time requiring a lot of skill to play.
Ontop of that gen speeds are ridiculous and you can't even think about what you're gonna do next, that objective is trash too and needs an update. I'm pretty sure everyone would cartwheel if they gave us anything other than gens to do.
