Freddy getting a buff?  I already think Freddy is OP.  i love playing as Freddy as probably 80% of the time i can kill all 4 survivors.  I don't even run perks as that just honestly feels unfair.  I use freddy as an easy way to farm BP.  without camping you can easily get 25k points and that is before BP enhancing offerings.

Is this a bait post or are you serious?

Freddy is on the table, but devs didn't give any hints about the date of the rework yet, while they gave them for Trapper/Hag. So basically, Trapper/Hag will very likely get some love before him.
Tho, maybe, if you're lucky on the next PTB...

I honestly dont understand why they cant roll out a buff for freddy as a hot fix. It would be pretty straightforward. Selfcare skill check cant wake up survivors and dream state transition interrupts survivor actions. Ez pz. Unless they want to just do everything all in one go on the balance patch for the sake of consistency.

    Cowardice.
I mean, at the moment I play Darkest Dungeon. They brough in a new DLC, and instead of making it easy for them, they revamped the whole game around it to make the experience better overall. Result : 37 pages of patchnotes.

    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1q1XP9y6aRXvYEKQ1znK82dX-ZutaElJxbi3IvJSt7-4/preview

The only reason I see for dbd not to follow this kind of conduct is simply cowardice or marketing choice.

The devs don't want to upset the special snowflake survivors. Reeeeee freddy iz OP!!!

  • +1 x10^23 i really hate running ruin but there simply is no other option. Killers HAVE to run it or they stand no chance in the high ranks. Its absolute bullshit because ruin is a boring ass perk that gets destroyed in the first 30 seconds half the time. I wish i could afford to run something more interesting and fun.

  • +1 this is a very well thought out idea. I actually was thinking of something like this. Requiring fuses and or a breaker box of some sort. I like this idea and it would be cool to test in a PTB.

@Jack11803 These kind of features have been asked hundred of times to devs. Tbh as I stated above, the only thing we have left is to wait and see. We basically talk to devs on a daily basis on discord, and we're pretty much out of topic as everything has been told and they basically tell us to wait to see what's next.

Supposedly, the next patch update should make some ppl happy. THey may even fix the hit detection on SB, not allowing that kind of stuff to happen :
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjCOpo2Tqhs

Possibly fixing insta-heals too, for this exploit not to happen anymore :
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0P39oh3AAA

(Yes, it's an exploit, devs clearly told me it's a bug exploit)

I just want no mither to be viable, and still start injured.

No Mither rework isn't planned so far.
The perks that are on the desk right now are :
    DS
    SB
    SC
Possibly Myers Teachables (not the next update still, very likely)

If DS is made to simply stun the killer in place i will be a happy boi. As far as sprint burst goes it needs to not proc in a chase and MAYBE increase the sprint time by 1 second but make it a gradual build up of speed vs blasting off like a rocket ship. For SC i always wanted it to be brought back to normal healing speed, have the self care then stop bleeding and cries of pain. Sort of like a no mither effect and then buff the self heal efficency of self care with medkits so that a brown medkit can at least give you two full heals.

When you play Nurse, the outcome heavily depends on the nurse's skill.

    Isn't that a good thing?

I consider that it should be reliant on both side's skill. At the moment, most killers rely on survivor's mistakes nearly exclusively. And it's pretty much the same while playing Nurse : if the blinks right, there's pretty much nothing you can do about it but take the hit.

That is a fair point but i would argue that against a 2 blink nurse it is a skillful interaction between both the killer and survivor with each having the potential to mind game each other since the nurse has only one correction blink before she has to commit to a lunge or take the fatigue which if a survivor is good at making reads they can avoid getting hit. However if it is a 5 blink nurse that means 4 corrections before the nurse has to commit to a lunge and in that case i agree with what your saying. Not much a survivor can do in that case no matter the skill. The nurse will almost always come out on top unless they are horrifically bad at playing her.

Playing against Nurse in most maps (which have very low options when it comes to directions you can take) is basically like playing Poker against someone with multiple hands, when it comes to mindgames. And the fact she can actually get 3 blinks + M&A + extra range add-ons to actually teleport next to you from anywhere without TR, is actually really strong. Not to mention she doesn't have to equip pallet perks, and such.

Tho, as I said, she's as strong as survivors atm. As long as survivors are as much in control as they can be, she needs that kind of strength, especially since, as Marth experiment proved : you can pretty much power through most nurses by just focusing on repairs and not being overly altruistic.

If we get some heavy balance changes in favor of the killer then i can see the nurse needing some adjustments when it comes to her addons. I personally think the nurse should be locked to 2 blink and that is it. Remove her multiblink addons and change what they do. For the range extenders it could up her terror radius and the old multiblink addons could be readjusted to optimize her 2 blinks such as lower fatigue time, longer lunge range, etc.

  • @Nos37 said:
The Nurse changes are brutal on console. Unless I blink inside the survivor's player model I cannot get a hit with her garbage lunge.

Killer with a controller is a ######### sandwich without bread no matter how you slice it. If its as bad as people say it is i am surprised the devs have not given killers a good auto aim to compensate for the lack of accuracy that comes with playing on console.

Lol I can't believe people still complain about this. Just cause you are on the other side of an OPEN window doesnt make you safe. Run Resilience or Spine Chill and you'll vault faster.

Pretty much this. I do not understand why survivors complain about a killer hitting them through an OPEN WINDOW. Its like they expect some sort of invisible force field to be there.

  • I agree, and if a single survivor DCes the killer should be able to keep his addons and offerings for that trial. Nothing annoys me more than when i bring in my good addons and then it is wasted because half the survivors DC and the match is over in 2 minutes.

This line right here destroyed your credibility. I know it might seem like the game is killer sided but it is not, it is not BY A LONG SHOT. Good killers crush new survivors like yourself but once a survivor gets good at the game it is a very different story. You have 42 hours in this game. For alot of games this is enough to be considered experienced but in the case of Dead By Daylight you are still a green horn noob. I implore you play killer and once you get to the high ranks you will start to see just how survivor sided this game is to a broken degree. If you are interested in seeing how OP survivors actually are when you are experienced just search Marth 88's depip squad.

It is one of 2 ways into balancing this game.

I mentioned your bias, gonna point out mine for obviously liking my idea more than yours, but here’s my reasoning. Quite simply, if my idea was inplemented, it would fix the problem at the root, he game would only need to be balanced once. And people may even forget SWF as a threat. That’s if it’s executed PERFECTLY “we know it won’t, due to the skill floor being in the depths of hell. Your idea is good, but would cause something similar to removing SWF, in that matchmaking would be hurt, bad. Along with complaints and less money.

Believe me, not much people are going to use voice chat, especially in Europe. It won't change anything, tbh.
I know this from other games with voice chat. This won't solve anything, most of solo players are still gonna have less chances of surviving, than SWF.

I disagree with this. It will change everything if solo queues get voice chat. If they decide not to use voice chat then that is on them and them alone.

The message asking you if you're sure to prestige even states that. It's not a myth.

@SadonicShadow So for you all killers are balanced and no one is underpowered? I don't think you said that but your answer let me think it

No, no. That was not what i intended. I meant the top 3 killers are the only balanced ones. The rest of the killers are too weak either because there power is just not lethal enough or they get destroyed by pallet looping.

  • I consider them to be balanced and fair even the nurse. They have amazing killing potential but also a higher skill cap then the rest of the killers. This means that taking the time to master one will pay dividends once you understand how to wield their power. The rest of the killers are mindless and two dimensional. Some do require knowledge on timing such as the doc but they are largely just M1 killers and playing them for just a few hours is enough to be proficient with there power.

Just play the survivor you like to play. Leveling all of them is just if you have a lot of extra time.
Then, just level up the killers you want to level. If you play all of them, just go for all of them in their preference order.

This makes sense. I dont know why i thought it was a good idea to try and go for every character maxed out. I legit only play Billy Willy and Claudette. The rest i only play when i have a daily for them.

I actually played exclusively billy (and survivor) until huntress release.
At the moment, I only have claudette P3 legacy (all perks), and do not need more. I didn't invest more than 1M bloodpoint into claudette since december 2016.

I have most killers P3 with all perks, except the ones I do not play. Tho, before huntress release, I only had Billy P3 level 50 and got him to level 300+ just to get more add-ons because he was the only one I actually liked to play with.

Don't stress it and just put bp in the characters you like.

Thanks man! I appreciate the advice. I just got so obsessed with the idea of maxing out every character and my enjoyment with the game has suffered from it. I havent used any addons for my Billy in a long time but after many months i think i am going to start spending points on him again. He is the only killer i play and enjoy. No need for me to spend millions of points on characters i will never play when those points can be spent getting me some beast addons for Billy Willy that are an absolute blast to play with.

  • I do agree that DCes need to be punished and harshly for repeat offenders. I can understand and accept that sometimes people have a good reason to leave a game. PC crashes, internet goes out, they have to leave for something that requires there immediate attention, they get stuck from a bug, etc. ######### happens in life but the repeat offenders and the ones that DC if they are found first, miss their D strike, get caught after being cocky OchiDo wannabes need a stiff penalty applied to them.

Honestly i think there is two things that can be done to both lessen the impact of DCing and punish people effectively. First things first if a survivor DCes from a game that match should be an auto safety pip atleast for both the killer and remaining survivors regardless of how the match played out. In addition to this the killer should be granted 1500 sacrifice points for the DC and should not lose his addons for that trial. The survivors should be granted 1500 altruism points and have a genny auto pop when someone DCes to help even the odds.

As far as punishment goes i think a system should be implemented that acknowledges that people can have valid reasons for leaving while also punishing the repeat offenders. I think a sort of token system should be allowed. Every week each player is given 3 free DCes from a match where you can straight up just leave the game no questions asked. You still forfeit your points, items and rank for that trial but you can leave without the threat of a ban. This is for people that have an emergency and HAVE to leave the game immediately. It will also be used by salty players but they can only use it three times a week. After that they need to suck it up or suffer a 48hr ban from the game. This would encourage people to save there DC tokens for when they really need them in an emergency and remove the filth from our game that cant handle playing it when it goes south for them.

  • The only thing freddy needs to be good is having the self care skill check not wake people up and the dream transition state interrupts survivor actions. Implement those and freddy will be a solid killer.

  • No one cares. Flagged as spam for duplicating this thread from general discussions.

  • +1 would be nice to have some way to dispose of the offerings that are useless. I have always liked the idea of being able to sell back the offerings and addons at a 3rd of the purchase price I have something like 120 chainsaw files on my billy that i am never going to use. If i could sell them back to the entity that would be really nice. I would much rather have some points refunded for items and offerings i will never use.

  • Ugh, Shelter woods. Its name is a good dose of Irony. It has probably become my most hated map because it is a pallet city. The devs really need to sit down and carefully rework alot of the maps so that EVERYTHING that involves an interaction between the killer and the survivor is a mind game. I legit get sick and tired of having to brute force pallets because i am handicapped by terrible map design and pallet density.

  • +1 x million. This is something that needs to be addressed and soon. The perk grind has gotten out of control at this point. On my p3 50 billy it takes about 50k points to get through each bloodweb. The fact i can only buy one tier of one perk usually with each bloodweb means i have to sometimes spend 150k points just to get one perk and it usually isen't even the one i want. 3 perks need to appear on the bloodweb and 2 of the 3 should be purchasable.

  • A shirt that says "pretty good job so far"

  • Oh god that looks awesome. I would imagine it would be a pain in the ass to see any survivors but still that would be really cool.

  • I never understood why people complain about gen tapping as if it negates ruin. I personally hope the survivors are stupid enough to gen tap because it is painfully slow. Smart survivors know it is faster to just work through the ruin instead of tapping the gen. If the survivors are gen tapping then ruin is doing its job and paying dividends to the killer. I can see how it sort of skirts a fine line as being an exploit but really ruin is not about making the survivors face the difficult skill check. Its about making the gens go slower and if they are tapping the gens it is most certainly going ALOT slower than normal.

I like the time crunch, gives no room to camp.

Even as it stands now it is a nice perk. I really want to get it on my Billy boi so that i can just use my BBQ to see who is on a gen then buzz over to them and ruin their day with a juicy 25% regression plus an overcharge.

  • I like the idea of making it a token system. Tier 3 allows you to hold 3 tokens while tier 2 only 2 tokens etc. Then just make the perk do 25% regression regardless of the tier of the perk.

  • The developers have specifically expressed a desire to show trappy boi some love so i imagine we will see some good buffs for him in the future. Something i would like to see too help him out is have alot of his addons incorporated into his base kit. Things like more traps, slower disarm time, etc. Would also be nice to have his traps all start armed and in decent RNG spots with the ability to have his traps auto rearm after sometime has gone by. Make disarming his traps require a skill check where failing it would result in getting injured (would work well with his teachable perk unnerving presence). Also allow him to rearm a trap without having to pick it up again and replace it. Something as simple has hold m2 to rearm trap would be a great change.
